Record Wonderland

Stopped in and got right to it. Dove into their collection which was organized by genre then by artist. They also had a new addition section which was unorganized new stuff that event circulates its way to the general population. Good vibes and good finds. Grabbed. Y favorite Tool album at fair price.

I’ve been here twice now. First time was last year where a bought a signed “High off life” album by Future and and a sealed Baby Michael Jackson vinyl. This place has amazing deep cuts, and it truly is a wonderland! Just went back for the second time in a year.The guys who work there were super helpful with the questions I had and helped me find what I was looking for. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and passionate about the Art of Vinyl Records. Thank you so much can’t wait to stop in again! I would tell anyone who reads this review to check out Record Wonderland if you want to crate dig for some immaculate records with an even better atmosphere :)

Record Wonderland in Roselle is one of my go-to record shops. The store has a huge selection with really good prices, and the owner and staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome to dig around and discover something new every time. Over the years, I’ve picked up multiple records here, and every purchase has been great. Most recently, I grabbed a copy of Carole King’s Tapestry along with a store T-shirt. Highly recommend Record Wonderland—definitely a must-visit for vinyl lovers.

I had a dentist appointment next door to this place, so afterward I came in to check it out. First, the staff were really helpful and kind, and quickly got me pointed in the right direction as to the music I was looking for. Hint: If you've never been here before, you may want to ask about where the LP's are that just came in, because that's where you can find the awesomely good stuff! Anyway, I wound up buying 6 records and a 45, but frankly if I had the money I would have bought 3/4's of the store! This is now my go-to record shop, and I think if you check it out it'll probably be yours as well.

The owner is very nice and knowledgeable. Records are categorized by music type and mostly in alphabetical order. Prices range from 5.00-15.00. A true gem in the Northwest Suburbs.

Nice place with a decent selection of new and used vinyl and operated by cool people. They even have a medium selection of used CD, and small selection of used cassette tapes, and a few old electronic gear.

Great staff and cool vibe. I really liked it! They didn’t have as much used, main-stream, 90s-2000 alternative like I wanted but it could just be that I came at a bad time. They had a lot of variety though, felt like more than other places I’ve gone to. They had a solid selection of new records though and I found a few I wanted. I’ll definitely be back!

Great selection of vinyl and it's reasonably priced. My only complaint would be they need some air flow in the store. Air felt stale.

I love this record store. New favorite place. I had a concern with a record I bought and they took care of me. Highly recommended on like every level.

Great selection of new and used vinyl in all genres, from Rock, Folk, and Jazz to Country and Classical. Smaller selection of cds. The prices on some of the older rock lps seemed on the higher end of reasonable, but ... it's your choice! But I'd pay a small premium for the ability to fully inspect before buying!! (I understand they also discount larger purchases.) Great in-store music and friendly staff make for a pleasant shopping or browsing experience. I will definitely be back with a detailed "wants" list. Support your local music stores!!

The staff is very knowledgeable and prices are good. Even the cheap bin has some good stuff. Nice atmosphere and fun to browse. Easy to find what you want.

I would not have gotten rid of all my (amazing) albums if I knew Vinyl and record players would make a comeback. The album I bought for a 13 year old child was $35. not exactly what I remember paying. Service was meh..I would think in that kinda place they would make a little conversational effort, but it was just a guy you couldn't really even see because the counter where you pay was so elevated. (maybe my 6' husband could see him, but I sure couldn't.)

Kewl place. You'll find something oven if it isn't a record. They have deals on holidays A decent amount to dig through for music affectionados

Another great suburban record store with high quality used vinyl and new releases. Owners are super nice and the inventory is superb.

Lots of 12" extended remix original pressings; freestyle, hot tracks, house, etc. Picked my 2nd copies since they are in such good shape. Will definitely come back next time I visit Chicago.

Love this place, they have a real great selection of old and new, and the energy of the people who work here is awesome. They are pretty helpful, and insightful. Pricing sometimes is a little here or there but I'll always pop in!

Thank you yelp for telling me I had yet to review the best record store in chicagoland.... Record Wonderland. I can't believe I missed that. Whether your looking for $1 records, new releases, rare records or even classical, this is the place to go. They have a great selection of new releases and used vinyl at excellent prices. They know the market and don't over price their records just because they have a retail store. I first ran into them at the old Palatine Wolff's flea years ago and have been a loyal customer ever since. You even can find a selection of collectables and posters. There is simply no reason to go anywhere else. No matter how often you go they always have new stuff. You also will also not find a more knowledgeable staff anywhere. Stop reading this and go now!

This was the first time in to brouse or buy. I came in looking for jazz records and they had a good selection. Also looking through the recently aquired there were at least 20 to look at. The best thing is they have an wide price range of offerings. No matter if you are on a budget or do not mind spending over $100 for a good quality record you should not be disappointed.

Solid record store, mostly used and a wide variety of genres. Prices for anything notable were on the high end...but very much worth a trip.

This record store is fairly new, having opened about a month and a half ago. As a result, I've only been there once thus far, and so these are my initial impressions. The guys who run the shop are very friendly--if you've been to any of the local record shows in the area, you will find that you might already know them. They also have been running an online version of the business for a while now, so the storefront version of the store that I am reviewing here is essentially just their "latest edition." Thus far, the store is rather nicely set up. They have decent prices on Rock, Classical, and Jazz Records, and also a pretty nice selection of LPs within each of these sections. Prices are well in line with "bricks and motor" stores in the area, like Dusty Groove and Reckless, rather than Ebay-centered, like say, Mile Long in Wheaton or (ridiculously so) Shuga Records. They also have a .50 clearance record section that contains selections comparable to what you might find in the same section at one of the local area Half Price Books locations. The Classical section in particular stands out as being quite nicely stocked. You will find a range of types of music, from symphonies to concertos. Each is broken into a different section. Jazz and Rock are also pretty nicely stocked up, while the World music section is a nice find you don't always see other places. Also nice is the selection of reel to reel tapes they have, as well as the small, but well-priced CD selection. Overall, they rate well versus other stores in the area, whether within Chicago-proper or out in the suburbs.

Stumbled upon this li'l gem of a shop researching vinyl in the NW suburbs of Chicago and so stoked I found it. It's tucked away rather inconspicuously in a strip mall and super easy to miss. It's not exactly ginormous in size but it amply makes up in the quality the shopkeeper has curated. While there is a heavy emphasis on rock and pop (not complaining about that mind you...), there is still a good bit of jazz, classical, world music and a healthy selection of soul. Prices are relatively reasonable for vintage vinyl in decent condition (moreso than most of the vintage record shops in Chicago) - I walked away with a healthy stack of original '60s pop and rock titles for about 50 bucks and was happy with my mini-spree. Shopkeeper is a cool guy who is quite knowledgeable and fun to chat with. Definitely worth a visit if you are a vinylhead.

Record Wonderland is a great new shop in the Northwest suburbs. I've come in a handful of times now, and I've got to say that the two owners are really nice and helpful, always welcoming. The store itself is extremely well organized. It's easy to move around the store and browse, everything is labeled nicely. I've noticed the front counter is always a bit messy, with stacks of albums waiting to be put out. Although, I don't mind, because this means that new stuff is always coming through their doors! :) They have a wide selection of genres, but do tend to focus mainly on rock and jazz. They sell mostly used albums, with a few represses and new releases mixed in. This means that you may have some trouble finding a particular title, but it's all about frequent visits and patience. :) Everything is graded well and the best part about Record Wonderland... THE PRICES! Fair if not competitive with other stores in the area. I've made some great finds at this shop and will definitely be coming back.

Just overall a great store and customer service is awesome. I was looking for several old jazz albums and the owner picked them out along with some other selections I might like. They have rock and roll to heavy metal. I spent hours just looking at albums and different artists . Loved the overall experience .

Record Wonderland is always a fun visit. The store is well organized and clean. The vinyl selection, ranging from classical to soundtracks, is reasonably priced and diverse. I've found everything from Pet Sounds to Mercury Living Presence recordings, all of them in excellent condition. The owners are friendly and knowledgable -- tell them your interests, and they'll gladly suggest some ideas.

This is a great vinyl experience. They have a ton of product. Prices are fair and they know their stuff. Best customer service. I always enjoy coming in here. It's such a wonderland in here so drink some tea and fit in the door and have fun.

If you enjoy LPs, CDs, 45s, and other music related stuff, do yourself a favor and stop by this shop. It's got great inventory, clean, well organized, and run by super nice and informed owners. Oh yea also lots of free parking and prices are very reasonable.

This place is absolutely AMAZING so many records and super super clean and organized ! The records are in impeccable condition and you can tell that they take care of them very well the sleeves were in a great condition & VERY VERY reasonable priced ! I cannot wait to come back over the weekend for the side walk sale that they are having best record shop around I highly recommend coming here !
