After having a not so great experience at another used bike shop, I wasn't going to get my hopes up here. Before I went into the shop, I had looked at their FB page to see what their inventory on used bikes were. Per their website, they say they post pics of their used bikes inventory on FB, so that was helpful. I knew going in, I probably wasn't going to find a used bike here even though, that was my end goal, to buy a bike. (Also, my budget to buy a bike was $200-300, which I thought was a good price point for a used bike, apparently you can't find anything in that price range unless you shop at target/Walmart/Fred Myer...) I also know nothing about bikes, so I don't feel comfortable shopping on craigslist for one.
Anyways, back to Recycled Cycles. I am pretty sure the guy who helped us was named Chad. Or at least he looked like a Chad? He first approached us and asked if we needed help, I told him, "I am looking for a bike in the $200-300 range, commuter bike I can use to ride to work,", of course I was told they didn't have anything for me but true reasoning behind this 5 star review is that, he was helpful and informative, even though he knew I wasn't buying a bike there. He sized me up, said I was around 5'4 right off the bat (ding ding), and I would normally be a 16 in frame.
He also recommended 2 bike brands to me, Diamondback and Raleigh, and to check them out online, and they were having a great sale right now. If I ordered from them online, it's free shipping, tax free, and also free bike assembly at a pro shop (Recycled Cycle is on their list of pro shops to get assembled at!), and also they had bikes in my price range, and that they are good bikes! OMG very helpful! Coming from someone who knows nothing about bikes, him telling me all this was very informative!
I found a bike on Raleigh for $299 (no tax either! Ya'll know Seattle's sales tax is ridic)! So overall, thank you Recycled Cycles for pointing me in the right direction!
