Randell is running a top notch operation here. Amazing baked goods with simple organic brunch fare. The quaint atmosphere and proximity to the river and public transportation makes this a must stop location for a snack or treat. There is lots of vegan, gluten free and organic options. I also know that they do lots of caterings for manhattan hotels so think about Randell for a catering option. 6 ⭐️ out of 5 can’t recommend enough. PS seating is pretty limited. If you have more than about 15 people for sit down service, the inside seating would be overfilled.

Google
A magical destination when I need a break from the city, Red Barn is charming and welcoming. The food is just amazing – decadent sweets, lovely savory treats. I love eating breakfast here then gathering a bag of goodies to bring back to the city. Randall’s soups are so healthy and delicious! I try to keep some on hand for a perfect dinner that’s ready in just a few minutes. In nice weather, it’s a real treat to eat outside by the river. The peace, quiet, gorgeous setting and yummy + healthy food restore my body and spirit. Thanks Randall + Red Barn!

Google
Only a few tables inside, but everyone is so kind and welcoming. The food is A-MAZING! We chose both a vegan and non-vegan lunch, and both did not disappoint. The muffins/desserts alone are worth the trip! Will be back

Google
Wow! What a delightful discovery. It's super cute and includes a cozy dining area and fair weather outdoor seating. The bakery items offered include regular bakes and gluten-free options. Everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and made us want to go back. Which we did. The Highlight: Please note that these talented folks make a treat they call a Donut-Muffin. This devine creation is a delicious muffin-cake-donut hybrid. It's filled with Raspberry jam, dipped in butter, and rolled in sugar. A dollop of jam on top finishes them off. This is Rockstar baking at it finest. Not too sweet ...yes despite the butter and sugar, it's simply fantastic. There should be a line out the door for these things! They also offer a selection of brunch/lunch items.

Google
This is one of the most impressive bakeries I’ve ever walked into. Such a beautiful display of baked goods, and taste even better! The coffee is great, jelly donut muffins are amazing, and the scones are very good (blueberry and savory kale cheese jalepeno). The staff was so nice as well, great atmosphere and area for seating. We’ll be back!!

Google
If you’re conscience of what you put in your body, this place is divine! No garbage seed oils, vegan and/or gluten free options, the soups are superb, pot pie is very tasty, and breakfast cookies are heavenly. This place will become a regular for us.

Google
The café offers a delightful selection of pastries, food, and various coffee choices. Its convenient location is perfect for a casual meet-up or a leisurely lunch!

Google
This is my go-to bakery in Westchester for more than a decade. Out-of-town friends who stay with us are forced to be delighted and surprised by the best chocolate cake and key lime pie. I'm not a chocolate cake person and extremely judgemental about key lime pies (having stayed at the inn that alleged manifested these devilish delights). What makes Key lime distinguished from other limes is a tinge of saltiness; therefore, a good key lime pie should have a bit savory in its profile. Randall perfected key lime pies by pairing it with the best crust companion for this type of pies. My only criticism is that cappuccinos should be a bit stronger and the dirty chai dirtier

Dunkin M.

Yelp
By far, the best ACAI I HAVE EVER HAD The customer service is great, and such a lovely environment

Lauren R.

Yelp
We love the red barn! It is the best place to stop in for a sweet or savory treat. My favorite is the jelly donut muffin. SO good! Randell is lovely and the service is impeccable.

Terri S.

Yelp
I'm from out of town and was looking for the park by the river. I happened to see their shop and went in to have a look. The owner and staff treated me like I was a long lost friend and honestly I thought I had walked onto the set of a cooking show. Lovely people and delicious food and coffee. What more could anyone ask? Thanks Martell! Terri with the MS dog rescue

Yelp
Stopped in for tea and goodies to go. The linzer tart was amazing and they have a great selection of teas. A vast array of gluten-free and vegan options will make it a perfect cafe spot for anyone. There is indoor seating. Service at the counter was friendly.

Melissa P.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. I went here initially for the gluten free selection while I was on a short trip to Tarrytown. I ended up back there the next day to buy more because it was so good. Delicious gluten free chocolate chip scones, brownies, apple cider donuts. My family ate the regular baked goods and loved them. The place is so cozy. We ate upstairs in the little nook. The owner is super nice and friendly, as is the rest of the staff I met. I can't wait to go back.

Saira K.

Yelp
Great bakery. They're at the Pleasantville farmers market too. Their apple pie roll ups are really good. The goat cheese quiche was good even when it wasn't heated. Everything is organic.

Saul M.

Yelp
Delightful vegan hole-in-the-wall restaurant and bakery. Cozy atmosphere and Randell is a great hostess. We finally found Vegan Carrot Cake here and the scones are delicious

Hunter S.

Yelp
Small bakery in Irvington that serves cakes, pastries, muffins, breakfast/brunch, as well as coffee and smoothies. I had their breakfast scramble with eggs, cheddar, spinach, tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, with strawberries on the side. I also had a smoothie. The scramble was hot and melded well, with good flavor. The smoothie was a bright pick-me-up. I didn't have any pastries or cakes, but they all looked great! All types--key lime pie, pumpkin seed muffins, savory pastries, gluten free pastries, pies. Service was fast. I took my items to go, but there is indoor and outdoor seating. Right next to the train station if you want to grab something quickly before hopping the train to the city.

Justin L.

Yelp
Came to Red Barn as I had to get some vegan sweets for my son's birthday. Located right by the train station, Red Barn is open for lunch but definitely has a niche for commuters in the AM. Service was super friendly. Prices are a little high, but hey, it's in a river town. Coffee smelled good although I didn't get any. I got the grilled cheese with challah bread. What I got was an absolute beast, as they didn't press down the challah much and it was big to begin with. Cheese was a good balance of sharpness with meltability, the tomatoes/jalapenos added pops of flavor, and the challah itself was really good. My wife love her veggie scramble, which came with a generous amount of vegetables. They just have a small selection of vegan items (they have more gluten free) so I got the vegan cupcake and vegan carrot cake. My son devoured the vegan cupcake for his birthday, and the carrot cake later on. They were a bit dense but had good flavor, and the icing was very well done in both cases. On the non-vegan front, the chocolate chip was of the Tates genus; thin very thin and crisp. I prefer something with more of a contrast between crisp and soft, but there's no doubt they're using high quality chocolate here. Breakfast cookies were better; they ate like really well done cinnamon raisin cookies except hold a bit of the cinnamon. Definitely will come here again if I need vegan goods, or am in the area.

Yelp
We've been multiple times and each experience was delightful. Friendly, engaged service. Yummy pastries. Beautiful location and a great vibe.

Hillary B.

Yelp
Maybe the pastries are worth , but this is not a place to buy a cake for a dinner party or a birthday..

Jami W.

Yelp
This is a gem of a place. They have so many freshly baked/made organic treats, bites, baked goods, soups, etc. the place is small and quaint but, all the food & drinks have LOTS OF FLAVOR. I would absolutely recommend this spot and will be back.

Dolores A.

Yelp
WONDERFUL Food, Service, and Ambiance ! Would recommend to anyone whether you eat gluten free or not.

Colette H.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. I knew exactly what I wanted: hot chocolate, brownies, cupcakes. The owner was behind the counter. There was one person in front of me and another person behind me in line. The owner never acknowledged that I was in line. She told the person in front of me in line that she could keep looking and she'd be back to help her in a second. The owner completely ignored me, even though I was standing in line, should've been never to order, had my money in hand and was facing her so I could get my order in. The owner then started speaking to the person behind me in line and asked what she wanted, helped her, got her order together and checked her out. The owner went back to the first person in line after this to help her with her order. During this time, I tried to get anyone behind the counter's attention, which was did not happen. At this point I had been in the store for over 5 minutes, was very upset and decided to leave. If you want amazing baked goods with great customer service, I highly recommend you don't come here. I wouldn't come back here. There are plenty of bakeries in the area with amazing baked goods and great service.

Jonelle G.

Yelp
Best gluten free spot in Westchester. The service is always great and the food is delicious. I have tried almost every gluten free baked good and the mushroom quiche with goat cheese is my favorite.

H.P. B.

Yelp
Over priced. Rude staff, she looked like the owner. Not welcoming at all. Doesn't greet you when you walk in. cold and dry like the establishment. It wasn't busy at all so I don't know what the wait was to even be acknowledged. Knew I should've left but was visiting and wanted to try it. Pastries don't look inviting at all. But didn't want to judge a book by its cover. Wouldn't return.

KZ H.

Yelp
Gluten free items are like bricks. The scones look great but you can break a window with them. I think there's so many other options for light & fluffy GF scones or other GF baked goods nowadays that they should try to update their recipes. Even Wegman's GF items are amazing. Too bad

Edward M.

Yelp
The best apple pie in Westchester County, and the owner is a doll. I had a question the other day and she was courteous and friendly. Try the pie or her strudel - it's like a religious experience!

Julianne M.

Yelp
Went in and the selection didn't wow me...however I heard that the whoopie pies were good and there was one left. So I decided to go for it and it was incredible. Pumpkin flavored and HUGE (big enough to split, and I have an extra stomach for dessert). Soft pastry, cream wasn't overly sweet, and wonderful flavor. Disclaimer, did not sample an array of items, but if you just get the whoopie pie you will not be disappointed! Parked in the train station lot across the street for free over the weekend. During the week you're on your own.

Mercedes C.

Yelp
I've gone to great lengths to make sure the Hot Chocolate I drink, is worth it. But it's a process...... for me. Prior to visiting, I make that call. Then ask- how their Hot Chocolate is prepared. And when I like what I hear, I just go (considering, it's within a reasonable distance). Outside style, is so adorable with black iron cafe tables, Mums and Pumpkins welcoming the Fall season. And inside, layout, is even cozier. Counter is filled with Pastries, Serving station with sugars and milk- to the right and an elevated seating area on the left. Went for a Whole Wheat Raspberry Scone and a Hot Cocoa. Owner Randell Dodge (Name spelling apologies), prepared my Pure Organic, Hot Chocolate with straight-up melted Chocolate and served in a hefty mug with 4 mini Chocolate disks on the side. One sip- and I was in. I indulged and savored every sip of my Hot Chocolate. Pricey Hot Chocolate and baked goods? Yep. But you're getting freshness, uniqueness and above all, quality-here. Driving slightly out of my way for decadent, Hot Chocolate, has been the norm and I don't mind it, especially since it's one of my survival tools.

Angelica W.

Yelp
I've given this place several chances. The staff is cold, just like the building. No warm greeting, no sense they're happy to see you. The feeling is, hurry up & order; hurry up & leave. Then there's the dining area, which feels like an old garage with the addition of wobbly tables. For both of these reasons I can't imagine settling in to read a book or do some work here, to the staff's relief I'm sure. It's as if the "take out only" sign fell off the door. Finally, the coffee is good, but only if you like bitter, burnt coffee. I couldn't finish my small cup, even after adding extra sweetener & milk. The real test though is that I gave it to my partner who could drink coffee out of a paint can, & he thought it was nasty. It tastes like gas station coffee that sat out all day, but is priced as gourmet. There is good coffee to be had, as well as friendly people who want to make it for you, just not at the Red Barn. Go to Coffee Labs in Tarrytown, or Good Witch in Hastings. Really go anywhere but here, or suffer the cold bitter consequences.

Ariana R.

Yelp
Sabrina was great! Welcomed me with smiles and joy. It was my first time and she made my experience 10/10. Food was delicious and coffee was yummy! Would recommend this place

Moira M.

Yelp
A delicious find! The savory scone (garlic scape and cheese) was fabulous. The organic lemonade was not sweet and therefore also fabulous. Wish I lived closer...

Mary H.

Yelp
Great bakery and service. Delicious spot in Irvington friendly staff. Cute old building on water

Brittni D.

Yelp
Excellent bakery! Well worth the trip from Harlem. I had the seasonal vegetable omelet with cheddar and a croissant and it was amazing. The ingredients are undeniably organic and fresh. You can notice the difference in how full you are from just eating a very small amount. Portion sizes are very generous. The icing on the cake is the lovely owner and staff. I was welcomed warmly by Randell, the owner and the cashier was very attentive throughout my meal. The purpose for my visit was to try out the products before placing an order for my baby shower next week. I am reassured that they will make my event truly special. Very sad to moving away from the city, will miss this place!

Yelp
Red Barn Bakery is a little jewel in Irvington. My friend and I drove up from Manhattan because we heard about this amazing Brunch place with fantastic service. Since brunch is my thing to catch up with friends I haven't seen in a long time I decided to try it. My friend was right the place is amazing. I had the generous omelet and she had the encrusted poached eggs. So Delicious!!! The vibe was perfect and the music was soothing. Finally a place that we can carry a conversation without screaming. Of course we purchased a couple of homemade pies and jams. If you don't drive the metro north is a couple of steps away. We are not only going back for the fresh food and ambiance but the five star service. Randell the owner is personable and attentive. I was so thrilled that that I went back the following Sunday.

Yvonne B.

Yelp
Truly a gem of delicious baked goods. During the pandemic, I thought of this place often and hoped Brendal (owner) was healthy and ready to resume business, and she has to my heart's content. I have plenty of allergies, so baked goods are usually not something I can safely eat; nonetheless, Brendal always has something marvelous for me. Today, I'm going home with brownies, flourless chocolate cake, and a soy flour tart that's super delicious. While there, I ordered a kale tomato frittata and ice coffee that made my Fort Lee, NJ to Irvington journey worthwhile. I'm forever grateful for her baking skills and that she survived the health and economic horrors of many small businesses.

Dan P.

Yelp
A bakery should have fresh baked goods... Red Barn did not. The store did not tell us, which is also frustrating. After one bite of our pastry, it was clear it was previously frozen. Even with adjusted expectations for COVID, it's inexcusable to sell previously frozen pastries ... on a Saturday morning, no less, when one would expect fresh baked goods! Super disappointing... Used to love this place and go weekly, but now it's tough to see it struggling.

Rosie Q.

Yelp
In need of a cup of warmth on a snowy day before our road trip back home, we found this attractive cafe near the Hudson River. To the left of Red Barn Bakery was a very small private parking for customers and could probably fit 3 cars in there if people parked correctly. Inside was cozy with several tables and an abundance of baked goods all around. As tempting as everything looks, a majority of the items here were gluten-free. Oh, and the coffee, the pump pots for regular and decaf were right behind a table we were sitting at which became awkward because customers kept apologizing for hovering over us when they were reaching for a cup of coffee. And the cups! They were literally piping hot since they were placed on top of heating vents so watch your fingers. Red Velvet Cupcake (Gluten-free)- I have a friend who's gluten-free and when I try her stuff out, it's not bad. I made the mistake of picking this in particular because it was the only one left, assuming it's a hit here, but the texture was hardened and stale. Was I just eat play-doh? Sugar Cookies (Regular)- Come to mama! A cookie that tasted like a cookie. Sweet and delightful. Hot Chocolate- This took a while for her to do since she had to melt the chocolate to make this cup. I appreciate the effort and it's just what I needed. Delish. Overall Service: The girl was super cold, didn't bother with pleasantries and was less than helpful when we asked what was good here. And $20 minimum card purchase is unheard of.

Sara W.

Yelp
Ordered a smoothie and I asked about the soufflé I saw- the employee recommended the pumpkin soufflé as really good. It was $10 and not worth it for the price. Not fluffy like I thought soufflé would be and there were pumpkin chunks on one side but not another side, so it leads me to believe it wasn't well mixed? And same with the smoothie- when I got to the bottom I could see the banana chunks not well blended. Bit disappointing experience.

David B.

Yelp
The Red Barn bakery is really a unique place. We recently had a family event and they catered to our special request so nicely. Most of their customers are regulars so the food they serve is always consistently excellent, and the staff are warm and friendly.

Quinn K.

Yelp
Way too expensive for the quality of food. Prices aren't listed on the menu. Each time I've gone, I've been prompted to pay without being told my total. For over $20, their avocado toast was one piece of cold untoasted bread, a quarter avocado (not mashed and spread, just placed on the bread), a cold, grey scrambled egg on top, and 2 blackberries on the side. Coffee is priced as artisan, but tastes mediocre.

Taylor W.

Yelp
One of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. Our group was basically ignored the entire time we were there. At one point they gave the food I ordered to another table, and when we pointed that out, they took it AWAY from them, brought it into the kitchen, and then brought it back out to us. Seriously? My friend had a back and forth with the woman at the counter who didn't even bother to write our order down, where she asked for a cappuccino 3 times and the woman still gave her a latte. We waited over an hour for our food, and it was either wrong, or almost inedible, for each one. Only one person enjoyed their food... it was a grilled cheese. Pretty hard to mess up. Not worth waiting an hour for.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Bought an apple pie which had mold in it. Apparently the food is left out without refrigeration on these hot summer days. The establishment should invest in a food display refrigerator or improve on the over all air conditioning. Here is a link for a refrigerated display unit. https://www.kitchenall.com/marchia-mdc100-27-refrigerated-countertop-display-case.html?source=googleshopping&locale=en-US&gclid=CjwKCAjwqcHLBRAqEiwA-j4AyJHCunezV7HQsw-uroTm-9E4IhFi0u6BUzEoy5-UpTjCKSlLrPL9hBoCx0wQAvD_BwE Not bad for $695.00

Peter F.

Yelp
I find myself returning again and again to this delicious little bakery. It creates delicious pastries of all sorts -- most of them are gluten free. They have a small menu of fresh prepared breakfast and lunch items as well. There is a small dinning area with about a dozen seats on the upper terrace.

Nicole J.

Yelp
$90 for an almost inedible vegan red velvet cake .. absolute embarrassment to give this for someone's birthday. Dry, sandy.. seemed like it had been left out for days. Never again.

Rick S.

Yelp
I had a scone here that could break a bone it was so hard. The coffee was OK. But the main thing is that the vibe in the place is just off. I'm not sure how to explain it, but it's just not pleasant in there.

Karen M.

Yelp
I enjoyed my toasted gluten-free bagel for brekkie. The scones & brownies are delightfully delicious. I look forward to tasting more freshly made goodies from here. I am so grateful to be able to have such awesome organic treats!

Kristen R.

Yelp
We have been patronizing this bakery for the last almost five years. We have always been friendly to the owner and she has been consistently Luke-warm with us. We will call it quits here because my mom had to use the bathroom... like right now! We observed two of their employees head to the bathroom, which was a few feet from where we were seated (so its not hiding in the back of the kitchen somewhere). We asked the owner if she can make an exception for my mom, she refused, turned away with a cold shoulder and remained unapproachable. So good-bye after patronizing this cafe' for the past many, many years...

J P.

Yelp
I'm sorry but the muffins are ok at best and are many times more expensive than they ought to be. Mediocre food should not cost so much. Make the trip to Ardsley and go to Riviera Bakehouse!

Davey R.

Yelp
The blueberry was freshly made, right out of the oven(like everything there) when I got there. However, the key lime pie is to die for

Susan K.

Yelp
It's beginning to look a lot like all the holidays associated with great organic baked goods at this adorable cozy gem near the Irvington station. I've sampled fruit pies, muffins, vegan breads and soups and I can tell each one is baked with attention to the integrity of ingredients. Very reminiscent of being at the home of an accomplished NorCal baker.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Red Barn Bakery is a lovely surprise, especially if you are gluten free! I have been gluten free due to Celiac Disease for the past 29 years and adhere to a gluten free diet. During those 29 years two of my four children were also diagnosed with Celiac requiring me to become quite an expert in cooking and baking gluten free and have never quite found an establishment to rival my skills until I discovered Red Barn Bakery! Everything is above and beyond delicious!

Emmanuel O.

Yelp
Way to make use of small space. I really dig this pastry shop. I know yelp would like for me to use more words but the only word I choose to use is WOW! So yelp here it is Wow! Wow! You have to taste of this place for yourself. And I am hard to please when it comes to pastries but a gluten free lemon poppy muffin too? Wow! Wow!

Thien An H.

Yelp
Honestly if I can give this place 0 stars I really would. My fiancé and I came in to get a drink and wait for the train station. We order two smoothies which was about 30 dollars. My fiancé went to use the rest room and I sat down at the pictured table. The waitress comes over and says to me " I am going to give you a different seat because this seat is very delicate." She was hinting at the fact that my fiancé was ok heavy to sit in this seat. We left because I was so upset. I called to speak to the manager, the same customer representative answered. I asked if she was the manager and she refused to answer my question and kept asking "can I help you" as if to rush me off of the phone. When I told her my complaint she replied " well it's an antique ." First off, of its an antique don't put it out. That was discrimination to the fullest. Did I mention that the smoothie was tasteless and it cost 20 dollars? Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. Completely disgusted with this type of establishment

Ray J.

Yelp
This place is so cute, services with a smile and delicious food and lattes. Thank you!

Yelp
After having mixed feelings about Red Barn over the years, I've decided it's become a very, very nice place to relax and have a cup of coffee. After refining their style and offerings, Red Barn has really hit its stride, with great, friendly customer service, excellent pastries, and a solid cup of coffee. If you are in Irvington and need a quiet refuge with a nice vibe and great food made on the premises, I definitely recommend it.

Joan D.

Yelp
Hello fellow Yelpers, I am new to the Irvington community and saw this delightful Red Barn Bakery on the side of the road. I was welcomed by the outstanding hostess, waitress, cook?, coffee maker, and I'm sure a lot more. The poor girl was running around doing ten jobs at once! I think that's just madness..She should either get a raise or maybe they should hire more help. She helped me as best as she could but I couldn't help but feel bad for her. If you come here please be polite and patient with Sabrina (I think thats what her name was) as there is only one of her. Other than the lack of staff on deck, the food and coffee was yummy. I would recommend this place :) come on down to the Red Barn my new friends of Irvington! - Joan Dennis!!

Mag S.

Yelp
4 stars for pastries ( made of local and organic ingredients ) Interior design 4+ I just wish they had a good coffee!
