"Cooking on the River with Red Bridge Cooking schools seems to be popping up everywhere in Hoi An – and most of them also include some sort of market tour that will familiarize you with the how the market operates as well as explain those many unique fruits and vegetables that baffle you. What makes Red Bridge Cooking School unique is that it takes you through the market and then puts you on a old junkboat for a boat ride down the river to the school. The ride lasts about 20 minutes and you get a good feel for life on the river while you can ask questions of your guide at any time about life on the river, cooking, or Vietnamese culture. Red Bridge has their own herb garden and a nice facility located in a very open air space by the river. A chef demonstrates a dish and then you get to try to make it yourself. Afterwards – you have a full lunch eating many of the things that you made yourself! You can stay at the cooking school for the afternoon and take advantage of their pool to relax after that big lunch. Recipes are provided so that you can wow your friends at home too. Red Bridge also has a restaurant and wine bar in the old city of Hoi An where you meet for the classes before going to the market. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a bite to eat too. Absolutely loved this experience! Was fantastic to get a tour of the markets, boat ride, cooking demonstration and then do it ourselves and eat what we made. Staff were so knowledgeable and lovely and put so much prep into class. Lunch was delicious (and plentiful) too! Highly recommend!!! Thank you!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this cooking tour. Local knowledge going through ingredients. Relaxing boat ride and then down to the cooking of our dishes. Chef goes through the cooking of the dish and then turned the kitchen over to us. Meals were amazing and adjustments made to Gluten Free and Vegetarian requirements with ease. Then returned to our hotel via bus at the end of the day. Cannot go wrong with this tour. 5 stars all the way

We had a great cooking class and dinner at Red Bridge and the setting is amazing. Chef Chinh and her entire team were all friendly and helpful. They’re super well prepped which made the class easy and fun and not too drawn out as some classes can be. The dishes were all great and she even showed us how to make netted spring rolls (a dish I hadn’t been able to master at home).

Great cooking class on Hoi An, to discover some nice Vietnamese recipes. The class is happening in a cafe in the center of the town. The staff is very kind, speaks English well and takes the time to explain everything thoroughly. We participated in the evening course. For us, the cooking part could have been longer and more intense, as we felt it was a bit short. We only chopped, but did not fry/grill anything. Still, we had a wonderful time. The quality of ingredients was amazing and the dishes we received extra from the restaurant were very tasty. Definitely recommend!

A great experience and great value for money. A guided tour of the food market before getting a boat up to the Red Bridge Cooking School. We made, and the ate some delicious food (and instructions to take away) before being dropped off back in town. Which seemed a little abrupt but otherwise would definitely recommend

Booked a market tour and cooking class via our travel agent. Red Bridge were fantastic. A great market tour, followed by a boat ride and cooking class. Instructions were easy to follow, we received recipe booklets to take home, and help was on hand to assist with our own cooking. Flavours were so fresh and tasted wonderful. They catered for gluten free, vegetarian, seafood allergy and peanut allergy on our tour. As a family with a 16 year old boy, i think he enjoyed it the most, but we all had a great time.

Chose the evening cooking class and had a great time, the size of the group was perfect. The chef was super friendly & funny, making the experience lighthearted. Food was delicious and it was nice to be shown how to make Vietnamese cuisine, the only thing is it felt like more of a preparation class over a cooking class but that simply could have been because we booked the wrong time slot/class type. Would recommend as it was nice to learn and also interact with new people.

After a tour in the Hoi an market where we learned about Vietnamese cuisine and ingredients we took a boat to the Red Bridge cooking school. The host served us a cold fruit juice freshly made and we started the class right afterwards. The staff first explained about safety and then we learned and made together Vietnamese dishes - spring rolls - we made the rice paper ourselves - they explained how to make the batter and steam it over a fabric placed above boiling water, green papaya salad, traditional shrimp pancake, seafood salad served in pineapple and more. We finished with a lunch made by ourselves. For the Foody people I recommend taking the class. You can come at evening time to eat there as it is also a restaurant
