My first visit to this lovely cafe was very positive. The savoury scone with tomato chutney on the side was the best I've tasted anywhere. Coffee was excellent, and the cakes were superb 👌 😋. I ended up spending the whole afternoon here, catching up with two lots of friends at different times. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are very friendly. The hot chocolates are amazing, too. And it's lovely to be offered a taste of their chocolates upon arrival and also to be offered water without having to ask for it. I will certainly be rendezvousing with friends here again. The only downside is that it gets cold inside because the doors are kept open. I'd suggest shutting the doors to make it more comfortable for customers in the colder weather 😉.

This place has such charm. What a secret treasure. You can absolutely tell the locals are proud of this place and no doubt boast. I’m giving away their secret, because this place is worthy of praise. Delicious coffee, incredible chocolate and delightful service. This place has it’s own style, quaint aesthetic and a true sense of warmth. The service was excellent. There was even a young trainee today who was just nailing it. The whole places glows.

Red Cacao is a cozy little gem, the kind of café that smells like chocolate heaven the moment you walk in. The coffee is smooth, the hot chocolates are rich and indulgent, and the desserts are absolutely worth every bite. Warm vibes, friendly staff, and the perfect spot to unwind or catch up with friends.

The customer service here is second to none, every staff member is warm, welcoming, and friendly. The coffee is consistently excellent, rich and smooth, and their desserts are something truly special ,beautifully presented and full of flavor. Whether it’s for a quick coffee, a sweet treat, or just a relaxing break, Red Cacao never disappoints. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience at Red Cacao Chocolate Cafe! This place is a real gem for chocolate lovers. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy feel that makes you want to sit and savour every bite. The handmade chocolates are absolutely delicious — you can really taste the quality and care that goes into them. I tried the hot chocolate and it was one of the best I’ve ever had — rich, smooth, and not too sweet. The desserts and pastries were equally amazing. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to explain the different chocolate options. I also love that they make their own chocolate on site — it makes the whole experience feel special and unique. It’s the perfect place for a treat with friends or a quiet indulgent moment to yourself. Highly recommend Red Cacao for anyone who appreciates artisan chocolate and a lovely cafe atmosphere

Red Cacao – ★★★★★ Wow! 😍 I completely fell in love with their Chili & Cinnamon Hot Chocolate made with 100% cacao 🌶️🍫✨. They have a version with less cacao, but we switched it up and are so happy we did—absolutely rich, bold, and delicious! What we loved: • Intense, decadent flavor of 100% cacao 🍫💛 • Perfect balance of chili 🌶️ and cinnamon ✨ • Attentive and friendly staff who made the experience even better 😊 Tip: Go for the 100% cacao version if you want a truly indulgent treat! 🔥☕ A cozy, chocolate-lover’s paradise—highly recommend! 🍫❤️ Thank you 😊

Yelp
This place is a chocolate heaven. They have all different types of chocolate to buy. There are also tons of drinks hot and cold with chocolate. Definitely a dessert place. It also has a small menu with some nice food. A nice place outside to eat. A must when in stirling make sure you take home some chocolate.

Yelp
Staff always very polite. Food delicious, best chocolate in the hills and well priced. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Chocolate and coffee go hand in hand - there is no doubt about it. But the service here at Red Cacao was definitely the first aspect which completely won me over. Service is impeccable, and for a small Cafe with a largely very young waiting staff, I am always so impressed with the level of service offered. Staff are attentive, check up on you, and are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The coffee and chocolate truffles pairing is my favourite. The blends of coffee offered are delicious as are the truffles carefully selected to offer you a mini tasting plate that showcases the beans on offer. The waffles are freshly made to order with local ingredients and are a must to try. Still yet to sample the dessert platters on offer over the weekends which look device and I'm sure taste just as good as everything else!

Yelp
I don't live up in the hills anymore, but did about 7 years ago, so imagine my surprise when I find out a gorgeous little chocolate shop and cafe had opened up in Stirling! Now don't get me wrong, Stirling has some real classic cafes that have proven time and time again that they have what it takes, but nothing like Red Cacao was offering! Decadent, high-end chocolates and indulgent (and Instagram worthy) desserts, yes please, where do I sign up? Anyhow, long story short, I visited this establishment with my niece and sister for a birthday treat. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating for dietary requirements, however I could hear them talking out the back about private matters (so maybe turn the music up, or lower voices). A complimentary gold flaked chocolate mousse was offered, which was apparently delish, and my own iced chocolate was AMAZING! Lovely dark chocolate flavour and strength, not too bitter. Smoothies were also a winner, involving classic flavours with an interesting twist. Only gripe was the ice-cream dish ordered said chocolate ice-cream and mint ice-cream on the menu, but instead came out with only chocolate ice-cream and a mint topping (perhaps a typo). Seriously though, do yourself a favour when up in Stirling and visit this place for endorphin boosting cacao goodness.

Yelp
Chocolate. The Adelaide Hills has long been home to many a chocolate maker, and many more chocolate enthusiasts. So I guess it was only a matter of time before a dedicated chocolatier set up shop in Stirling, after all who can resist a hot chocolate on a cold Stirling day? I couldn't. I ordered a dark hot chocolate. A couple of crispy chocolates were provided while I waited, though the wait was surprisingly short considering how busy they were. Served on a curved wooden board with a generous chunk of chilli chocolate on the side, the hot chocolate looked great, and smelled better. Texture was creamy while retaining the richness of the dark chocolate (not all foam and cocoa). At the bottom of the huge mug I found the remains of what I was told were 70% dark chocolate pieces, almost entirely dissolved. It was delicious. Not overly strong at all, not too sweet, exactly what I wanted. The interior of the store is light and bright while feeling warm and cosy. The staff are genuinely friendly and are eager to answer any questions you might have. The only thing stopping me from giving that 5th star is the slightly unfinished vibe the place gives off, but it's highly understandable considering how long they've been open. There's also a rumour that Red Cacao might branch out to serve desserts. If a dessert place would work anywhere in Stirling, it would work here. A little romantic and slighty hidden but still in the heart of town. Yum chocolate!

Yelp
Red Cacao is in the picturesque Stirling. This place has the best service of anywhere. They do 3 different coffee bean choices and if you at feeling like you need a small treat with your coffee they will match two chocolate truffles to your coffee choice which matches the tasting notes in the coffee bean chosen. Everything is so fresh and so well made. Blankets are provided for sitting outside and there is no downfall to this place. It is worth the drive just for the coffee. If I could live next door I would. It's hard to go and pay and not buy something sweet to take home. It's the dessert/chocolate/coffee place that every suburb needs but is best up in the foothills of Adelaide. Never change.

Yelp
Great coffee and some really well made chocolates! I was pleasantly surprised. I like the wooden boards they serve your chocolates and drinks on, a nice touch! I do think the packaging could improve. The bags are nowhere near tamper proof/ I worry about chocolate in bags that are not airtight as they are hygroscopic, and can absorb other odours and moisture easily. Also with presentation and a better logo, but it's early days for these guys and I'm sure they will develop the brand in time. Good job and good luck!

Yelp
The only bad thing about this place is that it isn't open 24/7 for whenever that chocolate craving hits you! The staff here are very friendly, I've come here with my boyfriend, friends and forgetful grandma and have gotten impeccable service every time. Soon after you sit down and order you get served a tasting of their special of the day, then after a short wait your order comes out on a rustic wooden board accompanied with a small chocolate on the side and presented spectacularly. Their chocolate is of the best quality and "single origin" meaning that the cacao beans are sourced from a single region in the world which gives it a intensifies the particular flavour of those beans making the chocolate more flavoursome. This place hands down beats any of the chain chocolatiers with their cosy shop, unique service and quality chocolate.

Yelp
I found the staff friendly but could be more helpful and understanding of the needs and requirements of the customer. They have great hot-chocolate if you know what your body likes

Yelp
I love a good hot chocolate and this one really hit the spot! I selected a milk hot chocolate and it was deliciously creamy, full of sweet chocolately flavour and very satisfying! My buddy ordered the coffee chocolate experience which was coffee, matched with chocolate truffles to compliment her bean selection - all reports were positive! We also shared the mind - blowingly delicious but ting taste of heaven that was the salted caramel tart! YUM is the only word to describe it! The staff were great - bringing chocolate covered coffee beans to compliment our order as well as a much needed bottle of water to counteract the gooey chocolate taste in our mouths! Unfortunately there were a couple of things about this place that did annoy me - it wasn't the kind of place that you could feel comfortable sitting down in and having a two hour long gossip session (but that didn't stop us - we are girls!). it's just that due to the popularity of this new cafe and the limited space, there were people walking in and eying off our table, whilst we were still enjoying our treats. It was also a little quiet - at first i felt like i shouldn't talk as i may obstruct the carefully silent ambiance but let's be honest...nothing could ever stop me from talking!

Yelp
High five me with a grin, a slice of chocolate and a coffee on the side! This is SUCH a cute place. Small enough that it could be your entranceway to your overly large 27 bedroom home, Red Cacao offer a treat for the senses that I haven't met before. It was such a choice place for many locals and Adelaidians on their late Saturday morning that some people even didn't bother with the option to wait a few minutes for a table to free up, but took takeaway options instead. Mind you, it was a gloriously wintery day in Stirling - foggy, constant rain, autumnal leaves still adding colour to the grey skies, people rugged up with beanies and scarves and long thick jackets. So, you've been seated, and your drinks have been ordered. Not only do you get some triple coated almonds to demolish while your eyes take in the sight of your presented choices, they pair what coffee you choose with what 2 chocolates that match your drink. BRAVO! for such a great idea. I went off the regular trail and opted a choice of the Barista Blend mug of Flat white - a fruity bright bean of origin I am not sure, which was paired with a delicate Vanilla chocolate that had a melt in your mouth soft centre, and also a Hazelnut chocolate. I am pretty sure I was exhausting everyone with my grunts of appreciation and "I totally blog food - not" commentary - while my friend Miss K did the same from her palate of appreciation. And then what more is better after such a fabulous feast, but to feast your eyes around the township of Stirling in the beginnings of winter. Such joy for the senses, and a perfect way to spend the weekend morning.

Yelp
This was a real revelation for me! I hadn't been to Stirling for a while and had plenty of time up my sleeve so wandered the back streets and little shopping blocks before coming to Red Cacao. Tucked off the main street its easy to miss but is a must when venturing up the freeway. The thing that impressed me so much was the service, it was truly fantastic and definitely influenced me to order more than what I intended as the waitress sold it so brilliantly. The staff here will tell you everything about their products, and be highly positive whilst doing so, how to match chocolate to your coffee, what top notes are in their chocolates, the best kind of sweet for a persons particular tastes, they know it all and should really be rewarded for such great service. But enough with that, what you really walk in the door for is chocolate of course. Beautiful truffles, gorgeous blocks and divine creations await you in this little store with a grand selection available as well as boxed presents to sell. On my visit I had a coffee and opted for their chocolate selection where three truffles are matched to your bean selection and coffee choice to complement them best. I had absolutely no complaints and walked out with a small box of truffles they were so good! Can't wait to visit again, a must for all chocolate lovers and a great place for a coffee catch up.

Yelp
Amazing food and drinks!! Friendly people and helpful too. The food was absolutely amazing. Words could not describe how amazing it was. I would recommend the waffles and almond croissant. Definitely to die for! Once you have finished your meal, get some chocolates home. They are fantastic!

Yelp
When I heard about a new cafe in Stirling dedicated to chocolate I immediately checked it out! Situated in the heart of Stirling yet tucked in neatly down an alleyway, Red Cocao met almost everyone of my expectations. I ordered a milk hot chocolate which unlike most hot chocolates you get at cafés real melted chocolate was used which really hit the spot and had a melt in your mouth kind type of texture. The staff were incredibly friendly and gave nibbles of honeycomb while we waited, after I had finished I bought a dark chocolate truffle which was amazing , and all hand made! The only thing that leaves me giving this fantastic cafe with 4 stars is the prices. I understand that you get what you pay for but $7 for a hot chocolate really seems a bit ridiculous to me. Although it probably won't stop me coming back for more! Well done red cacao!

Elle A.

Yelp
Red Cacao is truly a cosy treasure in Stirling. A nice, warm, creamy hot drink on a chilly afternoon in a cosy café atmosphere is really all you need this winter! Their hot chocolate selection is an absolute dream, and even though mine was made with almond milk, it was still so creamy and delicious! The fact that all their drinks are paired with especially selected chocolates makes it all the better! I also love the fact that they have 3 different single origin coffees, that they grind themselves! The only con that I could say is that they're on the pricier side, but given that all drinks are served with chocolates makes sense and it's definitely worth the price! Overall, a great experience and would go again!

Yelp
Great service! This place is owned & run by a young couple. They opened 2 months ago apparently. They have 3 different coffee beans to choose from, which I love. I've been to other places with a selection and they talk me out of getting other options because I am a milk coffee drinker. At Red Cacao they all go with milk, as they should.. All organic, some fair trade. I chose the Sidamo, Ethiopian coffee (because it features in the documentary Black Gold). They use Bonsoy and seem to roast their own beans/make their own chocolate treats. It was a great coffee and we had a nice chat to the owners. I love supporting small businesses. We didn't get to try some of the other stuff but it looks amazing. I think the other reviews cover it better than I could. In sum though. Great ethical coffee, nice selection, they use Bonsoy, and they were nice people. Check it out!

Yelp
exceptional indulgence and superb friendly service. Coffee, chocolate drinks and treats along with luxurious ice cream dishes....and that's just to start! An absolute must !

Yelp
This place is five stars hands down! I've been here twice and I can't fault anything. The chocolate is delicious and they have so many choices on offer. I had a salted caramel hot chocolate with a mint chocolate cup on the side. I called this lunch :) Why not? It is very filling but so good. They have an ordinary lunch menu as well, but why would you come to a chocolate shop and not order chocolate? The staff were very helpful in selecting my choices, and there was service with a smile. Definitely important. I would love to come back of course, but I might become a diabetic. P.S I discovered a free WIFI network in range.

Yelp
Marcus is super friendly and makes delicious chocolates! I gave them out as an extra treat at my Valentine's Day Floating Melodies concert and they were very well received! Looking forward to working together again and also attending one of the desert nights on a Friday night :-)
google avatar

Tracy C.

Yelp
Marcus is so passionate about what he does. I love the single origin chocolate. I was lucky enough to attend one of the special Yelp evenings where not only did we get to sample AMAZING chocolates and desserts but we were also educated about the process of making chocolate! It was incredibly cool. The star of the night for me was the Aztec Hot Chocolate! OH MY GOODNESS! I have had other drinks similar to this before, but nothing compares to Red Cacao's Aztec Chocolate! It was insane! This place is quality driven by Marcus' passion! Thank you!

John E.

Yelp
Not many know about my sidequest to find the ultimate iced coffee. This search was mounted in fact well before my parmigiana search, and has taken me everywhere from Thailand to Perth. As a general scale, out of ten stars I give Farmer's Union a five, Ice Break a zero, and the iced coffee from this cute little hole in the wall in Brisbane [you've probably never heard of it] a ten. Red Cacao ticks in at like a seven. In a world of threes, this is unprecedented. With the caveat that you order a double shot of coffee in the iced coffee, this is one of the best iced coffees I have ever had. The chocolate is also top-tier, if you're into that sort of nonsense. The staff are all beautiful people and Marcus is the kind of guy who you bother learning and remembering the name of. When you come up from the plains and stank up our tiny, once-quiet hamlet with your tourist filth, stop marvelling at the oak trees long enough to give this place a visit. Then leave and take your traffic with you. Gods, how I hate the freeway.
google avatar

Jorge G.

Yelp
If you really like chocolates (not talking about milky ways or kit kats), this is a place to go. Intimate place, good service and very special and original treats, your heart would thanks u.

Karen D.

Yelp
Tell no one. We know we're lucky to call this treasure a local, and we're not sharing it with any of you so forget you ever read this. Red Cacao presents fine chocolate as the delicate and precious treat that it is! without ever getting carried away with itself. Dive in for a very polished dessert or coffee experience, and try your hardest to leave without something packaged for later to gift or hide in the cupboard at home for the late night pick-me-up moments that only chocolate seems to alleviate. Perfection. But you didn't hear this from me.

Louise H.

Yelp
This place is just amazing. Hands down the best hot chocolate and iced chocolate I've ever experienced - and dont even get me started on their chocolates! They're delicious! My boyfriend raves about their coffees and the coffee chocolate experience where you can order a coffee and get chocolates to match the coffee you're drinking. I think the best thing about this place is the great service we have consistently recieved and there is so much to choose from within the shop which has a very welcoming feel about it. Honestly I wish I had discovered this place earlier even though its new!

Leonie B.

Yelp
My husband bought me home the chocolate coated licorice....OMG it was to die for. I can't wait to go there myself and try all the other varieties of chocolate
