Like all of the natural environments in and around, Sedona, Red Rock State Park offers a lot of beautiful and scenic surroundings. This being the case, it is not quite as fun as many of the other places to hike in and bask in the beauty and energy of Sedona. The main reason for this, at least as far as I'm concerned, is the fact that there is all of these signs telling you what you cannot do. For example, most recently, one of the main things is you can't do is put your feet in the water or anything like that. It kind of feels like you are really hindered from achieving the full Sedona natural experience at this location.
I get it, this is totally a to each your own experience. But, for me, this kind of limits my enjoyment level.
Overall, what this park offers is a nice visitor center, a nice hummingbird garden, and some interesting, beginner level trails. Yes, you do have to pay to get in, but other than that, there's really not too many negative things you can say about this place.
Overall, if you want to go to monitored state park, and you don't want to do any extensive hiking, or having fun by sticking your feet in the water, or anything like that, this may be your location to go.
