Love this spot for delicious and affordable coffee and bagels. My go-to is the jalapeño cheddar bagel with burrata cream cheese and the caprese sandwich. They have a variety of pastries/baked goods/fresh bread as well. I work from home and this is a great spot with good wifi and ample outlets (which is hard to find nowadays) and I’ve always been able to find a table. I’m excited to try their Sunday brunch or cocktails one of these evenings!

Came in to meet a friend for lunch, we shared the amazing charcuterie board which had some amazing cheeses and cuts as well as some hand crafted cocktails made with extra care. The staff was amazing and friendly, great place to spend a great day with friends or loved ones!

Do you want a European feel without having to travel to Europe? Well this is the spot for you. Very settle and peaceful atmosphere where you can get some work down and just relax and not feel the heaviness of the busy city. Staff is very welcoming and the food is high quality with affordable prices! Everything is made fresh everyday; and you can taste it! Absolutely delicious! Have brought a few friends here to try!

I highly recommend the smoked salmon bagel on an everything bagel 🥯 So delicious!! There is limited seating inside and out. The wifi was fast enough for a video call

Perfect neighborhood vibes! Great mimosas, and full bar. Love the outdoor space and cozy cafe atmosphere inside. From morning pastries to sandwiches and dinner this is a great spot in West Adams.

I've been here twice and had really lovely interactions both times so I figured a review was in order. I came once around 5pm on a Saturday really needing a coffee on the way to my art studio and this was quite literally the only non-franchise coffee spot open I could find between my house and the studio. I think they had literally just opened that week. The person who ended up making my coffee was super kind and detailed all that they had available and all that was to come. I ended up trying something new, which is rare for me, and I loved it. My second visit was over this last weekend and I wanted to get a drink before heading home after attending a gallery opening down the street. The bartender, who I believe his name was Olson, was incredibly kind, patient and humorous. It was quiet (which I loved) and very welcoming. The energy of that place is very warm and I look forward to going again.

Yelp
So I went here with my gf bc I needed coffee on the go at 6pm. Coffee was solid, we got the house drip and a hazelnut latte (not too sweet if you're lookin for that but I liked it that way. I'm pretty sure you could ask to customize). Croissant was solid (would be better if I came in the morning ) but the HOT DAWGGGGG... Why is it on the most buttery delicious soft toasted bread I've ever had... we were in a rush so I had to raw dog it, and it was still solid. Next time I need my hot dog fix I WILL BE BACK!! Also service was friendly and the shop was pretty inside. Music was nice and it smelled so good in there Lastly, prices are standard for the west side tbh.

Yelp
Been here a couple times now, including when they first had their soft opening. I have to say that the experience has been mixed. I have primarily been there in the morning. The setup of ordering at the counter is a little weird as you're in the midst of the tables, and there's primarily only a large community table and bar seating on the inside. 2 of the 3 times I've been in there has been no greeting or acknowledgement. This time, the guy behind the counter was helping another couple, but seemed to not know exactly what was being ordered or kept leaving the register to check if they had x y or z. By the time I came up I ordered my items, and already knew the prices were more than usual. I ordered the everything bagel with butter, and was sadly disappointed when I opened the bag and could only find little spots where butter had sadly melted on the bagel. Bagel good, lack of butter, bad. The pastries are pretty good, I've had the blueberry tart thing and cinnamon monkey bread. They are not too sweet, and crusty on top while soft in the middle. Good stuff. I will say the ambience is nice and my son enjoyed counting and looking at the bird lighting fixture. However the setup of tables towards the counter seems tight. The large community table just seems, well, really large. I understand having minimal staff to start the morning, but my experience here and at some other newer "upscale" cafes is that not everything seems prepped at opening. Like they don't actually expect a lot of traffic when the clock strikes opening, and that this first customers are dealing with a single employee still setting up or having to go to the back to get an item they didn't have ready in the kitchen. I'll be open to trying out dinner/lunch service, but likely will stick to some other spots for my morning coffee/pastry fix.

Yelp
I stopped at the new Red Rooster with expectation of an enjoyable new bakery in the neighborhood. I simply wanted to get a little sample of the baked goods on hand. I ordered 1 bagel and 1 croissant from the counter, bagged and out the door. This business does not take cash, so payment is by a card only. The bill was high at over $10 for these two items but I was OK with that. I was not ok with the business adding on a tip after I left, unauthorized. Most folks would not notice such a minor transaction later on your statement. But, I keep receipts. I don't feel its necessary to tip for a quick over the counter transaction. And, at the time, I patiently waited while the earlier customer ordered prepared drink and food. He had to summon someone from the back to help up front. It's just a pain to call and dispute a charge later. Shoddy handling. I hope it was an innocent mistake, but it just looked intentional. And the croissant was not that good at that. And here I really wanted to like this place.... This sort of stupid monkeybusiness spoils it for me.

Yelp
Live in the area and love supporting local business in the area, was excited to give this a try. When I walked in, I was not greeted and seems like the person behind the coffee bar was busy which is fine but seems like I was a bother that I was there. She was friendly once she started helping me but is not the reason for the 3 stars (would be more like 2.5 but rounding up instead of down). Upon walking in, there is no clear understanding where to go to place your order - confusing for sure as where you order is in the midst of the tables. Cute space but not laid out the best for Customers to understand the flow of breakfast, I'm sure it makes sense for lunch or dinner as they have an awesome set up for a bar. I wanted to try the Spanish Latte but they were out of the condensed milk so I ordered a regular latte - more like just steamed milk with no coffee flavor. I couldn't taste coffee but it did have amazing foam (points for great foam). Also ordered the onion bagel and why they are getting 3 stars instead of 2. The bagel was delicious! Chewy and fresh, needed a little salt but that my own preference.

Yelp
I came here on a weekday morning, stopped on my way to work. I thought it was more of a bakery than a cafe but they do make their own bread in house. I ordered an everything bagel and this bagel had full onion slices on the top, which I have never seen before. The bagel was really good, and I ordered a latte as well. There was only one person at the time, working behind the bar to make everything, so there was a bit of a wait but overall, great and cute little neighborhood cafe that is worth checking out.

Yelp
Went in for a drink and some food with my wife and son. There was nobody at the bar when we walked in, and we waited for almost 10 minutes before the bartender finally came and said he was in the bathroom. I ordered a drink, but my wife was not ready to order hers yet. We just had a bad feeling about this place as soon as we started talking to the bartender. He made some snarky comments about us sitting at the bar and about our son being on the phone. The bartender looked at our son, who was on a phone, and basically implied that we were terrible parents for ordering drinks while our son was on a phone. We were just out to get a drink and wind down; our son was actually very happy to be on the phone at the end of the day. We decided to walk away. We really wanted to give this place a chance since we live in the neighborhood and like to support local businesses.

Yelp
Newly opened with not all menus items available. The owner is very solicitous I had one of the best Italians subs ive discovered in mid city Freash tasty meats bread and cheeses, the opposite of the quick sub joints Ice tea brewed to order Check them out

Yelp
Brand new bakery. Everything we ordered was amazing! Can't wait to go back. The Italian sandwich had an amazing taste!

Yelp
"I had the most incredible experience at Red Rooster! Their chicken parmesan is out of this world - crispy, flavorful, and served with a side of their signature sauce that takes it to the next level. But what really stole the show was their Italian sandwich - layers of juicy meat, cheese, and fresh veggies all piled high on a crusty sub roll. And let's not forget the pastries...wow! Flaky, buttery, and utterly addictive. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty sandwich or a sweet treat, Red Rooster has got you covered. 5 stars and can't wait to go back!"

Yelp
There are no other places in the area that bakes their own bagels. I've been here twice and have picked up the jalapeño cheese bagels both times. I gotta say they're nice and chewy - without being overly thick. The menu has a lot on it but I feel like if they just rebranded into the neighborhood bagel shop they would be pretty popular given the recent LA bagel-ssaince. Hard to compete with the more established Tartine as a normal bakery.

Yelp
Went back for the Cinco de Mayo deal, $5 Mexican Dog and $7 Margaritas. So good! Bread is always on point! Drink was Smokey and not overly spicy, just perfect!

Yelp
Great coffee and baked good options. Nice environment inside or outside for catching up with friends.

Yelp
Everything about this place is so inviting. The decor, customer service, and variety. The food and drinks were outstanding. We got the iced cookie butter latte, a coffee latte and a mini pb&j brioche.

Yelp
This restaurant is the brainchild of Marcus Samuelsson and it should be "chopped"! We were given a menu and told that everything listed wasn't available. After asking what items were available, we settled on the Mexican dog and chili dog. Part of one of the wieners in one hot dog was partially hollowed out. The shredded cheese appeared to be of the pre-packaged variety and the chili seemed to be canned. Please don't waste your money on either one of these flavorless $15 dogs. Support your local street vendor!

Yelp
I enjoy this cafe , the ceilings are tall it is bright and airy . The WiFi is great and there's plenty of plugs if you sit by the bar . I ordered the Mexican hotdog it was delicious !

Yelp
Good vibes and Good atmosphere and delicious French toast! Friendly experience and will be back:)

Yelp
Very friendly and accommodating staff. We talked to someone who said they're planning a grand opening event soon. The bar looks lovely, and this neighborhood lacks places to get drinks, so it's a great addition. Food was slightly pricier than I would've thought but you can tell it's homemade and made with love. The croissant had a great flakiness to it. The breakfast quesadilla was not what I was expecting especially with the sausage slices. Not my favorite but was interesting nonetheless.

Yelp
Wow. I came a couple days ago, but had already eaten breakfast so just got an iced hazelnut latte, which was lovely. Today I went in for a couple of plates and was so impressed. I got the tartare & the Italian sandwich for my mom. Both were great, but I honestly have to say the tartare blew my mind - the bread was incredible. Also, Laura, the barista is so incredibly friendly & welcoming. I will be a regular, there is no doubt!

Yelp
I happened to be walking down the street and remembered that there was a new café that had opened up. I decided to come check out the Red Rooster Bakery Cafe yesterday, and I must say it's super inviting and cute on the inside and the food was great. I made a special request for a breakfast croissant sandwich, and the owner obliged without any issue. High quality food. Friendly staff. I am looking forward to coming to visit this when they get their alcohol license and hopefully check out the bar area as well.

Yelp
A great little community gem! These negative reviews are a little surprising to me. It's a new spot so ofc there are a few kinks to work out. They don't have a kitchen, so confection ovens are used, which is why you'll see the owner diligently working behind the bar. I love that it's not pretentious and the food is cozy, homey. The garlic olive oil is amazing! The bread was competitive with gourmet bakery Tartine down the street. The vegetarian lasagna was flavorful but not too saucy. The chicken parm was a little meh, chewy. I came St. Patrick's Day week so they were offering $5 Jameson specials. Tactics like this foster a good community vibe. It's not a trendy LA cafe; it's an accessible neighborhood spot you can get a good pastry, sandwich or just a drink. I think it's a great alternative to the higher end restaurant popping up on the street.

Cory B.

Yelp
Delicious pastries that are at the same level as Tartine, which is just down the street. They also had perfectly chewy bagels with house-made burrata cream cheese. The staff was very friendly and ambience felt like getting transported to a bakery in Italy. What more could you want!

Dana N.

Yelp
We came in around 9am on a Friday morning and it looked like the only products they had were leftover from the previous day. I asked about the cinnamon pecan roll and it was just out of the oven. It was good, but not amazing. My husband had an almnd croissant and it didn't have the flakiness you'd expect from a fresh croissant. The woman who helped us was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I don't get the sense it is run like a traditional bakery and would have expected more to be available. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Everything tasted good but the $22 roast beef sandwich only had a single slice of meat and it wasn't that big. They need to drop the cost or add more substance!
