"Though it's technically part of Eilat and connected to endless local activities via a beachfront promenade, the 375-room Dan feels like an ecosystem unto itself, complete with multiple waterfalls, pools, restaurants, and even squash courts, plus a spa, salon, and disco. Not your average megaresort, the venerable lodging was designed by globetrotting interiors guru Adam Tihany, who grew up just a few hours away in Jerusalem. For the full effect, consider one of the new rooms or suites, which feature muted, desert-chic décor, but know that any room will come with the most important amenity—views of the Red Sea. When you’re ready to leave the property, a whole menu of snorkeling and diving excursions awaits, as does Eilat’s Underwater Observatory Marine Park. The hotel is also happy to arrange jeep tours through the desert (don’t miss the Red Canyon and Solomon’s Valley) and visits to the International Birding and Research Center Eilat, known for its flamingo pools."

I stayed overnight as I was flying from Aqaba in the morning. This was an excellent value for the price! But more importantly to me, the staff was awesome. Each staff member that I interacted with was knowledge, kind, and thoughtful. The dinner buffet is also a great choice! Yes, there are larger hotels, but if hospitality is important to you, book here.

Pros (many)|Shiran, Vivi, Sivan reception attendants were professional||++ Price: even cheaper than Eilat youth Hostel with a full breakfast||1. Room|Basic But Spacious|+ Kettle, coffee, tea, big fridge|+ Bathroom with really strong pressure and very hot water which is great||2. Parking|+ 25sh/day but enough free spaces not far, easy to find (I found 3 different areas very close or close enough)||3. Good/Bad (depending on your preferences)|Location: right at the center of Eilat||4. Free Sunbeds|20min walk till Maman Beach, but then... free||5. Breakfast|++ very good, great diversity|No tailor made espresso nor eggs but then for this price what you get is way more than expected|Just look at the attached pictures|||Cons (many as well)|Shiran, Vivi, Sivan reception attendants were just professional, not really nice nor pleasant||Room: just Basic|1. Noise - one of the worst hotels ever|Not soundproof at all: I even heard my neighbors' alarm clock at 4:50Workers and neighbors spoke loudly and even shouted in the very long corridor. They felt obliged to share their joy and happiness when coming back from a restaurant or nightclub at 12pm, 1am, 2am and up till 4am...awful|Fortunately I had brought my earplugs with me.||2.Window and Curtain|There is Always some light. No real darkness|Fortunately I had brought my sleeping mask ||3. TV hardly visible: less than 10 stations but worse, quality was awful)||4. Location:|not really close to from the beach (10min walk when …hot)|15-20min walk till the sun beds on Maman Beach, but then again … free|But then again... you'll have to cope with rap music or worse "wailing" middle eastern music, at full volume of course.|Not everyone cup of tea||Bottom line: for the price and breakfast otherwise...

Nice quality for fair price. We had everything we needed in our room: several beds, fridge, microwave and electric kettle. Also they provided us with baby bed. Breakfast is very good. Scrambled eggs, roasted and fresh vegetables and fruits. Wide number of yogurts, also some traditional dishes. Personal is welcoming and friendly. The biggest disadvantage is it's allowed to smoke at the summer terrace on the second floor and if your room is near - you can feel awful smoke all the time. I would highly recommend owners to prohibit smoking on the territory of the hotel.

Price unbeatable, plentiful and good breakfast, will be back, but earplugs are mandatory! By the way you have free sunbeds at the Maman Beach near the Marina Beach, close the the Queen of Sheba and these are very good.

I was ignored by the Reception staff for 5 mins before they checked me in pretty rudely. The first room I was put in (and slept a night in) was dire. The curtain didn't properly close, it was generally very rough round the edges, it didn't have basic things like towel hooks and the fridge and air con were so loud I barely slept. Oh and the wifi didn't stretch to the room. They begrudgingly moved me to another room when I asked and the other one was better. The other guests were probably the worst bit. They all blared music by the pool ALL day, smoked everywhere and were generally extremely inconsiderate. I mostly stayed away from the hotel but I tried to sunbathe by the pool one morning. They removed the guard from around the pool half an hour late then I managed half an hour before the blaring music drove me away. The breakfast was very forgettable. Overall it just felt like so little care and love goes into this place.

The air conditioner in the room is noisy, the towels are dirty with stains and so are the sheets, there is no phone in the room so it is impossible to contact the reception, the food in the dining room reminds me of a meal in the army, sliced white bread in a bag and cheese in a bowl inside a fridge and hard-boiled eggs, not even yellow cheese, the TV in the room with a small selection of channels and poor reception on the channels that do work, there is no accessibility for the disabled, the only good thing is the pool, but there is smoking all over the pool even though there are signs that it is not allowed (the lifeguard in particular)

The staff is super nice. They really try to make everything to the guests liking. Therefore I don't blame the staff for the awful stay we had at the hotel. We booked the "suite" for our stay and expected not much, for the price was very low. But when we got there we were really disappointed. The room wasn't clean, there were holes in de ceiling and everything was one room. It was for 5 persons, so just one room was very annoying. The bathroom is also the living room and the bedroom is sepparated from the bathroom by just one single slide door. We told the manager, we didn't really like it and he was really nice and tried to help us. The next day we came across the owner of the Hotel in the hall. She basically told us we should shut up and leave if we didn't like it. She was the most rude and unfriendly person I have ever met. The staff acted as they were scared of the owner and I wouldn't blame them. To sum up: Don't stay at this hotel. It is not what they say it is and the owner is a really mean person.
