Red Sparrow Pizza & Rooftop Bar

The best pizza restaurant in Melbourne. The pizzas are all amazing, the Patas Bravas and Cheeseburger Pizza are among our favourites. I actually think I could eat just the pizza base, the dough is so soft, light and chewy, yum. All of the staff are friendly, and work hard to give you an enjoyable dining experience. Last night we tried the Banh Mi Pizza what a suprising flavour combination on a pizza but it works. In fact the ‘pork’ was almost too good. Shared pizzas with my wife both on gluten free bases, and again fluffy and chewy. Will have to book upstairs next time, looks like a cool addition for the new venue. Pizza by Red Sparrow and then desserts provided by Ginger Snap Patisserie, what a great combination. Do yourself a favour people. Also thank you for your ethical stance. Being a 100% vegan business can’t be the easiest. But you do it so well, and making a stand that only 100% vegan food can be in the venue (i.e. birthday cakes). Thank you.

i have been coming to red sparrow for years now and i just visited their new location. the place is a really great vibe and the decor is lovely - it is quite big too. the food here is always incredible and definitely some of the best vegan food in melbourne. you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas and they regularly have specials. i have taken a lot of non vegans here who can't believe that their food is vegan! definitely recommend this place to everyone, vegan or not

I had not been here for years! The pizza has only improved and the dining area doubled! Add Italian sausage and you won't e disappointed. It is just like Chicago Italian sausage. And importantly, they have Gaza cola that tastes exactly like the zio version, coke.

Best pizza in Melbourne! Also the WINGS ARE BANGING. Staff are so lovely and accomodating, and I’m loving the new rooftop bar vibes in the Fitzroy location!! Can’t stop thinking about the wings 😤 did I mention the wings 👀

When two of my favourite Vegans recommend this place, you know I'm trying it. If this is the quality of Vegan food, then slap my Turkish meat eating bum and call me a Vegan! This was DELICIOUS!!! I love restaurants that specialise in a type of food and not get carried away trying to serve 900 different items. Here you get quality pizzas and delicious sides. I would definitely come here for pizza and I'm not a Vegan... A special shout out to the Not Chicken Wings. Stop it! :) The atmosphere is moody, fun and non pretentious. The staff are just cool humans who are all smiles. Prices are more than acceptable and there is something for everyone on the menu. Will be back for sure :)

We visited Red Sparrow for an early dinner (me, my husband and three children) on a Saturday. The staff were friendly and warm and the food was delicious! It was hard to pick a pizza to try as I wanted to try them all! The pizza size was very generous, we tried the arancini balls, the cheeseburger pizza, margarita, Hawaiian and puttanesca pizza. They were all amazing and they had great options for kids. The only thing I would want more of are some additional by the glass wine options to choose from, otherwise it was all great!

We had a great time. I went with my partner and shared a couple of pizzas and sides. Service was very good and the food was amazing! Can't wait to visit their new location :)

We’ve been here a few times and travel over an hour just to dine here! It’s our favourite vegan pizza place. Food is delicious every single time, staff super friendly, great selection of drinks, nice atmosphere(although loud so I need my sensory earplugs so not a huge deal at all) and food is always out in a timely manner. We always order extra when we come here so we have leftovers for the next day 😉 best pizza 🍕 in Melbourne!!

Holy shit yawl, if you need a decent vegan pizza go for this place. The Hawaiian pizza was spot on, the bacon even looked like bacon and the cheese MELTS AND TASTES LIKE COWS CHEESE??? Also the base is the perfect amount of dough and just melts in your mouth If you haven't tried the buffalo wings you have to!!! I'm not a fan of spicy food but it's perfect alongside the dipping sauce it's to die for I'm so impressed my mouth has been watering even after finishing

The fact that my neighbourhood now has an all vegan pizza place makes me giddy with joy. I read some reviews critiquing the pizza harshly, but I know the chefs are working on perfecting the vegan pizza all the time! Also it's a great place to have a beverage with friends after work whilst supporting a vegan establishment!

Thanks Michael -- we ate there in late April/early May (I had written the review on my phone back then and only recently published it -- sorry for the confusion!) Hopefully that helps you guys figure out who may have been responsible for the burned pizzas. Regarding the hummus pizza, I have no doubt it was popular because of the novelty factor -- that's why we ordered it, after all -- but unfortunately it received poor reviews in the vegan groups I'm in, too, so it's probably for the best you guys took it off the menu. Regarding the "inflation" comment, your pizzas are in the $18-20 range. Two pizzas with a soft drink could definitely be in the $40+ range. Either way, too pricey to be coming out from the kitchen burned! Look, I really do hate giving vegan businesses a one-star review, but this place actually turned my non-vegan partner completely off of ALL vegan pizzas -- he won't try them at all now from anywhere because he had such a bad experience with you guys :/ Again I'm sorry and I hardly ever give one-star reviews but that was just our experience.

Really tasty vegan pizza - the pepperoni was my favourite; cheese that stayed melted until the last bite. My partner had the supergreen which was good but not as cheesy (which I think he preferred). Lots of choice, friendly efficient service. By about 7pm it was starting to get busy and a bit noisy (it was Saturday though so that is to be expected). Definitely worth checking out.
