I love me some Whole Foods bars. It was due to a conversation I had at one of the ones in Milwaukee that led to this impromptu Chicago trip, so it's ironic that I ended up here. I didn't know it was at the Whole Foods and just came for the drinks that didn't cost an arm and a leg because, well, the trip was impromptu (note to self: come back and bring money, always easier said than done.) I knew I would have to get a little bit off the "Magnificent Mile" to accomplish that, if ever so slightly.
I love Whole Foods bars because they always attract an interestingly off-center crowd that's fun to interact with. There are people discussing 20th century history (Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Pol Pot and all that.) There are also some intriguing beers for reasonable prices, which is common to Whole Foods.
I'm not really hungry or I might go for one of the ramen bowls. Maybe another time.
