Super good experience at Red Stripe. Went for Thanksgiving dinner. Food was outstanding, portions were generous, drinks were top notch and dessert was fabulous. The entire staff was friendly and helpful...like a well oiled machine. Our server was the loveliest young gal, could not have been any sweeter. A perfect holiday dinner. We will be back. Well done!

I'm surprised to see this place has only 4.4 stars because the experience I had was nothing less than 5. It was my birthday and I wanted searched through Providence looking for scallops. I found Red Stripe and decided to reserve here and I'm glad I did. The restaurant itself is beautiful and in a lovely area of Providence. There's a small lot in the back and plenty of street parking. The staff immediately noted my birthday and did a great job making me feel special. I wish I had grabbed my waitress' name because she was excellent. We started with the crispy artichokes which were delicious. I had the fisherman's platter and there was an ample amount of food. The shrimp were colossal and easily my favorite of the three seafood options. My significant other had the schnitzel and has been talking about how good it was ever since. We then ended the night with a skillet cookie- complete with a candle! While I may not love the number I turned, Red Stripe helped me celebrate it in style. I highly recommend them!

The food was excellent, and our server, Zach, was very attentive and frequently checked up on my group despite it being a busy Saturday night. He was very funny, and his great energy made my friend’s birthday a memorable night. We will definitely be coming again!!

The short rib grilled cheese and tomato soup was delicious!! Fish and chips was huge. Also got the crab crusted cod.

I had brunch at this restaurant. I ordered the Croque Madame w/ Frites and the Chocolate Cake for dessert. The food was delicious. The cake was very rich, so I couldn’t finish it. I loved the set up and design of the place. It has a certain vintage aesthetic to it. The staff was very kind. My server Haleigh was awesome. Would definitely recommend ❤️ Parking was a bit difficult to find, however, I eventually found street parking and there’s two lots near the restaurant.

Google
The food and service is like fine dining, but without the stuffiness and price. My friend and I went for a Chistmas Eve/Birthday lunch, the service @ the bar was fantastic (TY Joe & Bridget) and the food is always on point and delicious (TY Chris B). Love going there for lunches or cocktails too!

We had a great meal last night at Red Stripe. It was our third visit to this gem of restaurant. Drinks were interesting and tasty. The mussels Portuguese style with fries were delicious and my husband's steak frites was cooked perfectly. We finished with creme brulee and I wanted to lick the dish. Our server Zach was personable and just the right amount of attentive. I highly recommend Red Stripe!

Google
We had a great time at Red Stripe! The food was great I got the braised short ribs which were delicious. The only reason that I’m giving it a 4/5 food wise instead of the 5/5 is because I didn’t really care for the bacon it was a little salty for my taste but the mashed potatoes, carrots and short ribs were all great. The other dishes featured are what my cousins ordered which were the filet mignon and I think the shrimp poke bowl. They both enjoyed their dishes as well. Our server was friendly and attentive even as the dinner rush started to come in. The atmosphere and ambience are very old American bistro with a modern flare. I would definitely recommend this place it’s a great stop!

Yelp
I just had the best experience here. My dear friend who got great news about her cancer status, so that may have set the stage, but we never felt rushed and were treated as though we were truly valued. Our server, Sadie, was very attentive and funny and accommodating. I got short rib stroganoff and the best margaritas, patron, triple sec, and lime juice. Absolutely lovely. We sat there for 2 1/2 hours. We tipped accordingly, but the whole experience was amazing. Just a great overall vibe really good food served really hot and we indulged in tiramisu and cappuccino for dessert. Sadie made the whole evening very memorable.

Yelp
Cute little place we found on a Saturday night because my best friend wanted crème brûlée... Lol! I know that seems like an odd reason to visit this restaurant, but it was worth the trip. I just got a very homey, cozy vibe here that made me feel welcomed & at ease. Liked the background music too; they were playing music by bands like Foreigner, Journey, and Styx. Everything smelled and looked delicious. And I saw no unhappy patrons. Our desserts were delicious; we got crème brûlée and tiramisu. We also ordered a few things from their bar, including espresso martinis & Irish coffees, all great and, in my opinion, better than the drinks we got earlier that night at a fancy restaurant in Providence. Price wise, I feel it's on par for other restaurants in this area. Staff was very friendly and service was prompt. Dining area and bathrooms were clean. Not loving the parking situation, but that's Providence for you! Hubby and I definitely want to come back and try their entrees!

Yelp
Red Stripe is one of those classic seafood spots that just feels cozy and familiar. The portions are huge (seriously, come hungry), and the vibe is laid-back and homey. There's a small lot in the back for parking, otherwise it's all street. Staff is friendly, though some can be more of pushers. The best kept secret here is their prix fixe deal on Monday through Wednesday--$60 gets you 1 appetizer, 2 entrées, and a dessert to share. Such a great value and perfect for a date night or casual dinner with a friend. Seafood here is really fresh, and the menu leans hearty. I loved the fried seafood platter for the variety and crunch, and the mussel pasta was rich and packed with flavor. Overall, it's a great spot when you're in the mood for a hearty, satisfying seafood dinner that won't disappoint.

Yelp
It's been a while since I have been to Red Stripe and it's standing the test of time. We had a very nice dinner and the service was great. What I like most about Red Stripe is their unique menu. Not the same things you see at other restaurants. I had a grilled cheese with a very good tomato soup. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and has the feel of a European bistro.

Yelp
We've been to Red Stripe once before for RI Food Fights #BestBurgerRI & it was my #1 burger that year. We've always wanted to go back & Providence Restaurant Week offered the perfect opportunity: $49.99 three-course dinner for two. We ordered an affordable bordeaux that paired nicely with both my steak & hubby's salmon. A little spicy with a fruity finish & a gorgeous ruby red color. You selected one of the six appetizers to share. When at Red Stripe, you gotta get the mussels! There are six different mussel options & on the recommendation of our server, we ordered the Mouclade: curry, garlic, shallots, white wine, finished with coconut milk. I need to go back to try the Poulette: parsley & chive, garlic, shallots, white wine, finished with cream. The crusty bread was perfect for dipping into the mussels broth. And yes, we drank the remaining broth from the bowl! I opted for the Steak Frites: 36-hour house-marinated 10oz grilled hanger steak topped with Chef's butter, over arugula, red onion, lemon vinaigrette & served with house frites. Everything about this dish was perfection! Steak was flavorful, frites were just the right amount of crispy outside & tender inside, surprise salad under the steak with a delicious lemon vinaigrette that cut through the richness of the meat. Hubby selected the Hot Honey Salmon: grilled salmon glazed with house-made hot honey, served with seasonal vegetables & citrus cilantro lime rice. It was a generous portion of salmon with a sweet glaze with a bit of spice. I didn't care for the seasonal veggies but the citrus in the rice was delicious. You selected one of two options for dessert: tiramisu or New York-style cheesecake. We were both pretty full by the time dessert came around so we weren't disappointed that the tiramisu was weirdly firm. I would have been much happier with a bowl of fresh strawberries & cream. Just sayin'. The food was great, server was delightful & the restaurant is gorgeous! NOM NOM NOM #YUM

Yelp
Dinner for three in the back room. The place was full of the chatter of (graduation) groups of women, making for noisy and lively dining. In spite of the rush our server, Talia, remained attentive and pleasant. We shared an appetizer portion of Poulette Mussels- quite excellent- with a generous side of well done fries. One of us had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and soup. The other had the filet mignon medium-rare, which she pronounced was 'just right'. We also had a haricot vert side order. Although feeling full we shared a crème brûlée. I ended with an espresso - a good conclusion to my meal. I was glad to see that the food lived up to our expectations.

Yelp
The drinks and food were very good! I had a pear cocktail that was very flavorful but not too strong. The truffle burger was very well cooked, and the huge side of truffle fries were delicious! My only complaint is that the mushroom that was on the burger was in one large piece and very chewy. I ended up taking it off of the burger, so it definitely lost a little something. My husband's schnitzel was well cooked and tasty too. The service was prompt but not overbearing at all. We waited a little long once we sat down but we were also tucked away in the corner in the back room. The drinks and food came pretty quickly. I was impressed with how reasonable the prices were too. Overall, a solid dinner option!

Yelp
I had come here before but for dinner. My friend and I came here on a Wednesday for lunch and it was a very good time. Street parking was okay, there were a couple spots close by and a lot more a half to one block or so away. We made reservations just in case and I am glad we did since it did start to get busy at around 2 pm. We were seated by the large windows, which I liked since it brought in a lot of natural light despite it being a rainy day. I tried their berry mocktail and it was delicious, but I wish they had crushed the mint to bring out more of that flavor. As a starter, we shared their crispy artichokes which were flavorful and paired well with the sauce provided. As my entrée, I ordered the truffle burger with fries. The burger patty was delicious, especially the patty since you could really taste the grilled flavor. The mushroom was good, but was a bit tough, so I had to bite a little harder to avoid pulling it all out in one bite. I wish the red onion was cooked a little more for a caramelized flavor, but it was a good topping nonetheless. The arugula and tomato were fresh, and the goat cheese gave it a creamy touch. The buns were perfectly crispy. I was also really excited for the fries since they're on the thinner side, a bit oily, crunchy, wobbly, and overall, a combination of all the things fries should be. The truffle flavor was great, I wish there was more just because I love truffle, and next time I will ask for some parmesan on top. Our waiter was kind and attentive. I'm also glad this place is open on a Monday --when some places aren't.

Yelp
This is a really solid bistro located in the Wayland Square section of Providence (on the East Side). The flair has a strong French influence even though is labelled as an American Brasserie. The menu also has a lot of international choices like salads, regional soups, burgers, steak frites, moules & frites, fish tacos, Italian food, etc. We have had really good meals here and this last time we loved their clam chowder, salads and mussels....just a great place to relax and eat. Lots of street parking around.

Yelp
We came here for dinner during the week. I love the bistro type deco and atmosphere. The front room is a little most busy, so we sat in the back room because it has a more cozy and quiet atmosphere. The service was good. I've been here more than once and the food has been consistent as has the service. They made us feel very welcome. I love the beef stroganoff, absolutely delicious. They didn't serve it the traditional Russian way with sour cream so I was sure to ask for it on the side! The tomato bisque was excellent, although slightly spicy. I also loved the tiramisu I had for dessert. I definitely recommend Red Stripe.

Yelp
Another excellent experience at Red Stripe! I've said it before and I'll say it again: Red Stripe has consistently excellent service and classic, dependable menu items done right. What I especially appreciate about RS is that they're willing to update the menu and offer new items and flavors while maintaining consistency and execution. Though typically I don't stray too far from the moules frites appetizers, this time we tried the Tuscan shrimp; and it did not disappoint! The flavor of the sauce was excellent, the shrimp were battered and fried to the perfect texture, and the presentation atop a bed of arugula was simple and pleasing. I highly recommend. In addition, I tried the fried chicken sandwich, and it was a gem! The thick, juicy pickle chips were a perfect complement for the spicy chicken. I would definitely order again. As always, excellent drinks, prompt and friends service, and a positive experience at RS. And, in the age of QR code menus, I highly appreciate the classic tall and sturdy menu booklet that RS continues to use.

Yelp
Truly one of the best restaurants in Providence. The service is incredible and the food is delicious. They have everything- pastas, burgers, seafood, etc. The manager (Bob) was so nice and our waiter (Eric) was fabulous. Can't recommend enough!

Yelp
I was craving a lobster roll so I walked here from my hotel (1.5 mì). Loud music playing at lunch. Quickly seated. Friendly server. Lobster roll was not acceptable. It was freezing cold and had shreds of lobster (I think that's what it was) and small pieces of claw meat. The fries were okay. I decided to cut my losses and asked for the check - didn't want to waste my calories. Server said don't worry about it. I walked as fast as I could to Hemenways and had a delicious lobster roll just like I like it. Warm, butter only, grilled bun.

Yelp
Healthy food practices , the manager and staff do not practice even the most simple things. Staff leaving the restroom without washing hands.

Yelp

Yelp
My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary so we decided to have dinner at Red Stripe since it was a place we frequented when we were newly married. The braised short rib is in my personal top 10 favorite meals of all time and while this dish has changed slightly over time, it never disappoints. We had some appetizers; the buffalo cauliflower, which was undercooked and still crunchy, like eating raw cauliflower that had been breaded and tossed in sauce, and the Tuscan shrimp, which is a newer menu item, and was crispy and flavorful. The restaurant is really loud when it gets full, so just be mindful of that if you're looking to have a conversation with the other people at your table, especially if you're near the open kitchen because there's a lot of clanking and clattering from plates and pans being moved around. They also offer outdoor seating on the sidewalk, stools at the bar, and another room behind the bar if the main dining room isn't working for you.

Yelp
I haven't been to Red Stripe in years, and I really thought that it was pure nostalgia that I remembered Red Stripe so fondly. We went out for date night, they seated us in a cozy little corner with moody mini lights. However, I chose to put this to the test recently and chose to go here for date night. I always order steak frites here and they really lived up to my memories! The steak was perfectly cooked, not a single fatty or unappetizing piece to be found on my plate. A lovely ball of herb butter accompanied the steak, a perfect complement. The frites were also given the right amount of attention. I've been to other places where it's like they forgot that the frites are half the meal and should be equally as good as the steak. I can promise, Red Stripe gives the frites all the attention they deserve. We closed out the meal with tiramisu which was lovely, but I might order cheesecake next time

Yelp
This place is a reliable favorite in Wayland Square. We have enjoyed their mussels and salads on previous visits and they also have a nice bar where we've enjoyed strong cocktails. Today we stopped in for brunch. We did not have a reservation but walked in towards the end of brunch service and were able to score a nice table. Service was good and prompt- water glasses were kept filled, which I always appreciate. I had the avocado toast with two poached eggs. The avocado, sea salt and seasoning were great as were the tomatoes and greens. The eggs were a little cold, however, and the bread was a bit overly toasted, but all in all, the flavor was nice and it came out quickly. My fiancé had their croque madame, which he enjoyed. Drinks were the lower point of today's meal. I had a cappuccino which was well executed but super tiny- we ended up going over to Madrid after our meal and getting more coffee and dessert. My fiancé had their Bloody Mary but ended up sending it back because it had too much of a cocktail sauce flavor- apparently that is part of their signature mix. If you prefer a more tomato forward Bloody Mary, you might want to skip this. He then got a whisky sour which was very mid. We were surprised because usually the drinks we've had at the bar here have been really great. Nice atmosphere- the tile floors are gorgeous and I love that they have convenient hooks for coats and bags. Bathrooms were also very clean and well maintained.

Yelp
The food and service was impeccable! Very consistent! The restaurant is very clean , modern atmosphere

Yelp
As usual, a delightful dinner at Red Stripe! The Truffle Burger was absolutely perfect, with a special shout out to the mushrooms. The grilled cheese isn't your kid grilled cheese, this is a delicious adult take and is one of my favorite. I ordered with a side of frites instead of the tomato soup it typically comes with. The roasted half chicken was very nice, my husband likes the linguini and clams a bit better. We also ordered an appetizer of calamari which was excellent, not overly fried at all. Good service, great atmosphere. Enjoyed the meal very much!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place so much. It's comfortable, casual and congenial. Today I ordered French onion soup, with the gooey Gruyère madness. The server, who was the bartender was pleasant and efficient
google avatar

Wendling C.

Yelp
My burger was excellent! I also loved the frites - thank you for the generous portion. I would have given a five star review if the takeout had been in paper containers. The frites are great no matter what, but mine were not as crispy as I'd wish since they came in a plastic container. If possible I'd like to have the frites packed in a simple brown paper bag next time.

Yelp
Had dinner with my amazing wife last Monday evening. First let me start with our waitress Kaylee. She gave us the best customer service experience in a very long time. We decided to share a Caesar salad, the calamari, and the short rib beef stroganoff. The Caesar salad was extremely fresh, and she has the cooks divide the portions onto two plates for everything. The calamari was good. I asked for a side of tartar sauce, instead of the marinara which she accommodated. And the stroganoff was heavenly creamy and decadent. After our meal, I excuse myself to go to the restroom, and I went up to the waitress and asked her about the desserts told her it was my wife's birthday week, and I chose the crème brûlée. She put a candle in it, and my wife was surprised. The crème brûlée was one of the best I've ever had. Normally, it's very busy in there and very loud, but it was pretty quiet and we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We love the ambience there. I highly recommend red stripe for food, service, and cleanliness.

Yelp
The great- Raejene was an excellent server. My friend had the Wednesday special & enjoyed it. The not so great- the amount of SALT poured on the fries & in the canned tomato sauce for the chicken parm. The chicken itself was great cut. The frustrating- the loyalty program is bogus. I've been a customer for 15 years. My receipts always say- "give us your email address and join"... do you know how many years I've been giving my email & have gotten nothing? How does that system not recognize my credit card? If Waterman Grille can, yours should be able to. Would I go back? Only if in the area and only for the Cobb salad.

Yelp
Stop #3 on RI Food Food Fights 11th Annual Big Burger Blowout!!!! Joe took GREAT care of me at the bar... I have been wanting to come in here for years as I pick up passengers Ubering that love it, and has always come highly recommended! I opted for the Truffle Burger w/a side of greens...making it healthier! I will be back to try the Bacon Bleu Burger (Joe's recommendation)

Yelp
Looking back on our experience here, I have to say I was underwhelmed. There's a total lack of anything like this here in Providence, that is, an unassuming brasserie when you can have a "nice" dinner that doesn't require a reservation and that didn't ever encounter a microwave. The night we were in we ordered four different entrees for our four diners, along with an appetizer. Only one was truly delicious, and it was a dish of pasta with meat sauce. Everything else was forgettable, at different temps, under-seasoned and definitely not worth the price of admission. I had the braised short rib, which people seem to talk about and the waiter recommended. It arrived with the most peculiar texture. It was essentially a slab of meat with a piping hot, dry exterior from being reheated--and a cool inside. The sides, carrots and mash, had not been seasoned in any way. It was just a dud. I'll say this about Providence: it's strange that we've had so many dining experiences here, in the shadow of Johnson & Wales, that are so poor. This type of food--French brasserie cooking, which is all about things that are simple to prepare and hold for many diners across many seatings--is the core of almost all culinary programs. Omelettes and mash are like day one stuff. It's just a shame that this is what we have.
google avatar

Julie P.

Yelp
I finally went to Red Stripe after living in the area for years. To start we split the truffle fries. I was a little disappointed with them because they were skinny and more crispy than I was hoping for. For the main I got the Braised Short Rib. This isn't a dish I get often, but I thought it was great. The meat was easy to take apart and chew and it was very flavorful. The vegetables and mashed potatoes it came with were also super satisfying. We enjoyed an outdoor table and people watching during the meal, and our server was great! He made several recommendations and was very on top of water refills.

Yelp
Recently visited for breakfast with a friend. We had a reservation and were promptly seated! The food was great. Smaller portions, perfect for a light breakfast, but definitely not enough to share. I personally prefer bigger breakfast portions as it's one of my favorite meals! The decor is a little outdated. We sat by the window, which was lovely, and very bright with the sun. Server was attentive.

Yelp
We got them delivered through Uber eats and honestly they were very good for delivery. I can imagine how much better they would be in person, fresh and hot. We ordered a few things. Salmon, steak, fries (frites), buffalo chicken dip, Tuscan shrimp, and a salad. Everything was good. My only complaint would be the chicken dip barely had cheese. I had to add cheese and microwave it for it to be a dip. Other than that, everything was flavorful and yummy. We are definitely ordering again!

Suzanne K.

Yelp
Our Rumford family took us for dinner there and it was great. Decent fish n chips, fresh fish, delicious fries but a giant portion. Bro-in-law had the fried seafood platter, enormous, but he made it through not eating most of the fries. I tried the red stripe grilled cheese that contains poached pears and loved dipping it in the tomato bisque soup, yum! Our vegetarian sister had a beautiful salad, supplemented by fries from others. We all saved room for ice cream at another of their fave venues, Three Sisters.

Yelp
Their steak frites is my favorite . The quality of the steak is top notch - tender & absolutely delicious every time & the mashed potatoes that come with it are so tasty

Yelp
What a great place! In town visiting a grad school with my daughter and saw that there is a Dinner for Two special here on Mondays and Tuesdays. It was so much food! But oh so good! We had the mussels Portuguese for the app - very large and tender! Then had the steak frites and the Tuscan Salmon and finished it off with sorbet. Tons of food and so tasty!

Yelp
We had a reservation for 7:30 on a Tuesday. They were putting us in the back room, and we requested the front since there were tables open. I don't think it was unreasonable, but they said no and we didn't push it. The service we got after that was terrible, there was a bro waiter who made great initial contact, got our drink order, super friendly, and then just forgot about us. After about 20 minutes someone else came, apologizing for the long wait, and took our order. We never saw her again. Finally we got someone steady, a younger Asian woman who was nice and very helpful. But we were there for 2 hours. I like long meals, but this was because of poor service. The food: The broth in the moules was very good. I recommend the bread, it was also really good, though it came long after it should have. The lobster salad? Nothing special, could have been anything. The steak and frites was fine for the money ($32). The frites: Half our table had frites on it. They were all luke warm and soggy. They should have better frites game if they're going to serve them with so many dishes. Anyway, overall this place is over rated, we felt poorly treated. I wouldn't be surprised if the wait staff culture is toxic.

Yelp
3/23/25. Sunday: Amazing! Sweet Waitress. We had a couple of Tito's dirty Martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. Shared a full order of the Moules Frites Moulade and a Truffle burger. Really tasty and enjoyable! Manager stopped by to talk to us about our experience-- nice! Relaxed neighborhood ambiance. Recommended!

Yelp
What a delicious meal and great experience! Had dinner here on a weeknight during Restaurant Week and it was now crowded at all. The menu options on the RW menu were items available on the regular menu as well. I had the crispy artichokes, salmon, and cheesecake along with both apple and cranberry sangrias. All of the food was delicious! I would absolutely order the same dishes again, although the regular menu looks fantastic and I am definitely planning to return to try more of those menu items too! The sangrias were good, but I have had better seasonal sangrias before elsewhere. I was intrigued by some of the specialty cocktails and would probably try those next time to branch out :)

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time for Restaurant Weeks and I had a good meal. Good customer service; and the restaurant had a simple, neighborhood feel to it. I wasn't disappointed or blown away by the experience and the food, it was simple and good.

Yelp
From the minute I walked into the Red Stripe, I was charmed by the atmosphere, the tile floors and the quaint tables sitting by the window. My friend and I were lucky enough to sit by a window, and it was the perfect little table to chat and enjoy our time there! The menu had a great variety of options. I ordered the Cobb salad with the salmon (because #protein) and the salmon was cooked perfectly! I ordered a meal to take home to my husband (the angell tortellini) and it was delish! Our server was fantastic- he was happy to help us with recommendations and knew just when to put that to go order, but wasn't pushy at all. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and will even be back!

Yelp
Great dinner! I came for restaurant week and ate off that menu, and everything was delicious. Caesar salad, salmon, and cheesecake. I also had a Cranberry sangria, which was also great. I thought that the regular menu looked great, and il definitely want to come back to experience more!!

Yelp
Always on the top of the list for a lunch visit or meeting. Good food, accommodating staff, and good prices. Definitely get the frites!! Tables are a bit close and it can get a bit loud so if you are going with people with hearing issues ask for a table in the back.

Yelp
Visited with my 21 year old daughter as part of RI Food Fight's burger challenge. We were seated in the back room, which was lovely and peaceful. Service was perfect and the burgers were out of this world! Definitely a top contender for our votes. We also had sangria and crème brule, which were amazing as well.

Yelp
Visiting Providence for the weekend and stopped in for an early dinner and drinks. Atmosphere is bar/diner-like with a terrific oldies dance playlist playing in the background. The Old Wayland Square (Vieux Carre) - boozy. Hit the spot. Deviled eggs - nice flavor. The bacon a nice bit of crunch and flavor contrast. Cobb salad - delicious. Not too heavy and a very good ratio/blend of ingredients. Prices are reasonable and the window is perfect for people-watching. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place has pretty good ambiance. Nice servers, clean restrooms. I'll start with the meals.. We were disappointed with the red stripe grilled cheese, I thought it would be something special, but it just tasted like regular grilled cheese, didn't have any other flavor. The tomato soup was pretty good, nice and savory. Another one of us got the mussels and fries. The muscles she got were pretty good, and the fries. A very big portion, probably could share it between two people. Lastly, we had the veggie burger. Also pretty good but I got the truffle fries and they did not have any truffle flavor. Not shown was the buffalo cauliflower which was our appetizer and those were also pretty good. We got charged $3 for bread, which was kind of annoying. I went here a different time for lunch with my dad who loves calamari, and he did say it was the most tender calamari he's ever had. He was impressed.

Yelp
came here three years ago and remember the service was excellent and the mussels were tasty! came back for lunch and got the crispy artichokes and truffle burger with no bun, amazing flavors really. also great service. this place strikes me as a consistent place with new england vibes. i could tell there were a lot of regulars in for lunch and the servers knew how they liked things. i wanna see a bread service at this restaurant because it fits the vibe and also more lunch specials. would definitely come back.

Yelp
Came to Red Stripe for a 2nd time as my dad and I dined here last year. This year we had a good lunch for Father's Day. Service was great, super attentive and helped explain a question or two on the dishes. We started with calamari, which was on the small side but good. The calamari itself was not the most amazing ever, but that may be a product of seasonality or supplier, not the fault of the restaurant. It was nicely fried, with the fried coating dry and crispy (not oily or soggy), and not super thick batter which was good. The calamari was was served with some peppers and some marinara on the side. Good stuff! I ordered the Red Stripe burger which was good. Very melty havati cheese and guacamole. Burger was huge, maybe over 4" wide. It was cooked slightly over to medium well (ordered medium), but still very juicy and flavorful. Not the strongest beef taste, but not bland either. Instead of fries I got a spring house salad with dijon dressing which was massive, very fresh, very tasty. My dad ordered a salad with lobster meat which was also massive, and he said the lobster meat was fantastic. It looked like he got maybe 1/2 lb of lobster meat, just by my eye. We both were not super stuffed, although satisfied so we still ordered dessert. He had creme brulee and I got tirimisu. The dessert servings are small but good. The tirimisu was not amazing, but still was of high quality and tasted great. Overall would come back here anytime. A restaurant that seems steady in their offering, with a menu that can suit a lot of different food preferences. Nice location, good service, fair prices. What more can you ask for?

Yelp
It is a continent place to stop for dinner. It is good pub food. I frequently order the fish tacos or the bowl of chowder. It is a comfortable place to stop for lunch or dinner. Their signature tomato soup and grilled cheese is also great.

Yelp
See my previous review - have been here dozens of times, only because it's closest to my house, but it never fails to disappoint. Had a hankering for a burger today. Should have known better, because I've never had one cooked right here. Ordered medium and it was beyond well done and bone dry. Was starving and it was late so didn't say anything and the server didn't give me a chance by asking how it was. Stick to drinks here. And if you want a burger in the hood, go to McBrides or Ivy Tavern.
