Room was spacious and clean. Air conditioner was great, blowing air directly downwards at the corridor (perfect for drying clothes overnight). Staff were friendly and helpful. The big slide was a cute idea! The included breakfast was good - the grilled chicken was PERFECT! Note that even though the hotel provides free parking, it is actually by default an open-air carpark (Hi PARKING 台中柳川中華停車場) a couple of blocks away, and they provide the redemption coupon.

Pretty underwhelmed. Badly run hotel and surprised this could be on the Michelin recommended list. The lobby def meets the expectation - very pretty and fun. The rooms upstairs feel unrelated to the level of how the lobby is set up. It felt like a very standard hotel. The service and maintenance is what made it bad. We checked into three rooms and the first two both had issues - the first one water wouldn’t drain in shower at all, and the second one had serious mold issues (the first one had a bit but not as bad). How can there be so much mold if cleaning was up-to-date? After we had issue for the first room, we requested a new room since otherwise we couldn’t shower. We asked if we could get upgraded to a better room because we needed to waste time packing again and unpacking. They said there was no better room available. The second room had serious mold issues so we had to change again. Guess they ran out of the same rooms so gave us a bigger room. They lied. Breakfast itself is not bad, but they make you choose what you want and a 1-hour time window to have the breakfast when you check in. Then in the morning they cook everything fresh so you still need to wait for a while. Not sure what the point is for this whole setup of limiting people to options at check in.

The hotel has a very fun vibe about it, with the decor and the slide. The staff is polite and very helpful. Loved the onsite parking in such a central location. The breakfast was limited to four options but all were great. And of course the Japanese-style toilet, such a blessing for bidet-users.

Beautiful designed hotel. We love the location and it’s quite clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very decent and nice. But the room is quite small with low ceiling. And the air-condition was very loud. They don’t have laundry facilities and only offer free bikes for 3 hours.

The hotel is designed in a very cute way. Staff are friendly and hotel breakfast has a nice menu. The ceilings in the room are quite low. Bathroom is large and separated toilet is very nice. Bed is comfortable but pillows are too soft. TV can connect to YouTube and Netflix. Location is walking distance to Chun Shui Tang and Miyahara, but nowhere near the metro. We used an Uber to get to further places. Hammock is limited to 90kg weight.

As a designer, I’ve always admired RedDot Hotel for its award-winning design, and this time I finally got to experience it in person. The space perfectly blends industrial and vintage elements, with thoughtful details that reveal the designer’s vision — from materials and textures to the play of light and shadow.The breakfast was surprisingly delightful, featuring fresh and well-prepared dishes. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, which made the stay even better. The location is convenient, within walking distance to many local attractions and cafes in Taichung.Overall, RedDot Hotel isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a space where design and comfort truly meet. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates creativity and good hospitality.

Spotlessly clean boutique hotel. But the best thing was:1. The staff, with special mention going out to Fay, Rosa and Nancy who helped us book train tickets, recommend many restaurants and cafes at our next destination, Tainan. They also provided excellent recommendations locally as well. Most certainly the best interaction we've had at any hotel including many 5-6 stars. Service was genuine, authentic and they all went above and beyond.2. The breakfast - although we had our fill in Taichung, the breakfast was something we couldn't resist. Each selection was well crafted, balanced and even the coffee was well curated. Execution of all the dishes were spot on and the crew in the kitchen ran a tight ship.3. We had some issues with the shower - the staff immediately offered to change room for us. Immediate resolution.Overall, a memorable experience.

This hotel is very nice and I would recommend!! Clean, comfortable, spacious, very friendly staff and they have a slide from one floor to another, what more could you want. The beds are massive and very comfortable and the showers are big too.
