"Redfern Continental, Redfern by lowercase. European style cuisine in the heart of Redfern. Offering up breakfast, lunch and dinner, you could park yourself here all day if you fancy. Fit-out wise... the front section is light and airy with a definite European flavour to it, however take a walk out back and you'll find yourself in the cocktail bar known as GDR, which feels like a different venue all together, with its sleazy retro vibes. With delicious food, an extensive cocktail list and a good selection of beer and wine, no one's complaining here."

Awesome. Very impressed with a simple menu of great food done really well. Impeccable service all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Hipster join, pretty cool and cozy. Expensive though, but pretty tasty food. So I guess it worth it 😆

Yelp
The Burger for $22: Beef patty, cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion and pickle Verdict: 9/10 - 4.5 - 1$ for 0.28 Hard to be objective when you have had so much beer - SO MUCH BEER - but I think this burger had the merit of looking the part, wearing the right costume and also: the guy asked me how I wanted my patty and actually delivered it bloody! So yeah, I might have been tipsy (hon hon hon oui oui baguette) but what follows is made of the same insight that got you Apple Inc., peanut butter and the Red Sox winning the World Series in 2013. + TRUE AMERICAN CHEESEBURGER + Finally some effin' sesame seeds on the bun + Sauce was ketchup and mustard (MAYO IS NOT A BURGER SAUCE) + Patty was just meat and bloody (how hard is it!?!?) - Bun grilled but slightly dry - Even the fries were alright (duh), but just alright Size: decent serve of fries to go with a fairly large burger, so be hungry! Bonus: I am slightly drunk as I am righting this review in my notes Details: Patty 10/10 Bun 9/10 Sauce 9/10 Vegetables 9/10 Cheese 6/10 Size 9/10

Yelp
The menu is far too ambitious for a cafe/restaurant of it's caliber, and the most casual item seemed to be a dry $24 chicken schnitzel, saved only by the Jaegar sauce (Mushroom sauce - subpar to any other mushroom based sauces I've had though), and bland boiled parsley potatoes (Boiled, not mashed), accompanied by plain cabbage. Food took quite a while to come out. Standard beers are overpriced. They split bills, and take card thankfully.

Yelp
A friend had raved about Redfern Continental so I insisted that my regular Thursday-night dinner friends try in. They don't take reservations and we were lucky to grab the last table. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are super friendly and helpful, but we didn't go for atmosphere and staff. Entrees were mussels, prawns and carpaccio. My friends were a little lukewarm to their seafood entree. Me - I loved, loved, LOVED the carpaccio. It was absolutely brilliant. I could eat it by the bucketful. The mains were barramundi, weiner schnitzel and whole spatchcock. This time around me and my friend were lukewarm on the barra and schnitz. However, the spatchcock, according to the third in our party, was exceptional. We also had a side of brussel sprouts, and I ate one for the very first time in my life. They do not deserve their bad reputation. We had a great night, good food but, overall, not exceptional food. We would go again but at just under $200 for the three of us, it won't be a regular haunt.

Yelp
This is the second visit to this laid back cafe. This isn't your average breakfast/brunch menu but that's more reason to go! Along with the usual breakfast standards there's also what seems to be European dishes. Lots of sausages of various types and something like a meatloaf which is amazing! Best of all you can get a drink from 11am! I'm yet to try the 'hair of the dog' but there's always next time! The coffee on the other hand is good as is everything I've ordered and sampled. The staff are friendly and know what's on the menu! Value for money, great food, cool staff and even better music!

Yelp
Out of the gate, I caveat this that my friend rates his sea mullet on a riisotto looking thing was delicious and would rate it a 5. That said, I unfortunately did not have nearly as good of an experience for our brunch. I ordered a dish which essentially was ciabatta bread with asparagus, poached eggs, and bernaise sauce. I knew the meal was headed downhill when I had to ask the waitress for a steak knife to cut the bread. The bread did not seem fresh but stale in that regard. The poached eggs were overcooked to about 30% hardboiled status. When I cut open the egg, the egg did not run like a good poached egg should but instead the nearly congealed looking yolk plopped out onto the plate. I was a little disgusted by that. Lastly, the bernaise sauce was overwhelming sweet and was indiscriminately poured over the eggs such that it overwhelmed everything. I will not be going back.
