My sister and I have a wonderful time while walking next to this refinery and that it was a nice and wonderful day. As we were walking, one of the doors was open and that we can see the large mound of sugar waiting to be purified. The Redpath sugar company was founded in Montreal in 1854 by John Redpath. It opened its Toronto refinery in 1959 on the waterfront, which became the company's main processing site and is still in operation today. The Toronto plant was a major industrial project built to coincide with the St. Lawrence Seaway, and it is now one of the last industrial sites on the harborfront.
