This is a nice full service national park campground, but it is probably up for a bit of a renovation of the infrastructure. Our nearest bathroom did not have hot water working, but no one told us, so we discovered it during ice showers. This campground has a good number of deer and other critters, which was a pleasant surprise. Family entertainment was lots of fun. We took in the Taylor Swift Airs Tour, which uses popular culture to educate about birds at risk.

We have stayed here twice now and have enjoyed our stay both times! The location is prime and absolutely beautiful. The trails and hikes available in Redstreak are great and range from easy to moderate. The sites are nice and big, decently spread apart and tons of mature trees. Tons of wildlife in the area which is exciting to see! The bathrooms and showers are clean and there are lots of them. There are dishes sinks at most of the bathrooms and water taps throughout the park. Although not a negative for us, there is limited cell service at the campground. The only negative is that not all sites have a fire pit. We did not have a fire pit but we did checkout the woodpile which looked great and seeing the other sites having fires the wood seems fairly dry considering the amount of rain the area has received over the last month.

The wardens are helpful plenty of showers and toilets. Wood for fires. Good trails from the site to the Hot Springs and sinclair creek or just down into town. Lots of bins . Electric points only some have sewage and water disposal at your berth pitch but has a main disposal plot to empty and top up.

The Good: - Beautiful settings and walking trails. - Closeness to the town and quick access to essentials. - Lots of wildlife around. The Bad: - Mosquitoes, we did get the spray but a few of them suckers got us. - Facilities are not well maintained. The bathrooms were outdated and not cleaned frequently. The fire pit and table were coming apart. The Ugly: - The sites were packed in too tight. Our spot, A-20, had five neighbors really close by—it felt like they were right in our face.

When we came, it was raining and started to stop (the rain was on and off that day). It had a queue to wait to register before we can go to our booking spot. We were after a few cars so the waiting time was 15 minutes or so. We were given a map of the camp We had a spot booked at A. It is pretty open and it is not secluded. The spot in our opposite had a larger group of people gathered and they liked to talk a bit loud and have music on. It’s a dogs- and kids- friendly park. And we saw them around us. Glad to have met some new friends when I first came in and they stayed at the first hut on the way in ;)

I was happy to find the sites were well maintained and litter-free. The hot showers were appreciated after a long day! Parks staff was friendly, even to my pup. Radium is nearby for all your grocery needs, or for camping related items you may have forgotten to pack.

We have been visiting for years! Sadly the maintenance budget hasn’t kept up with its usage and its age. I remember staff cleaning the sites, lawns maintained (now there are none), weeds pulled etc. What I thought was a Canada Park flag ship facility has become a forgotten annoyance for our Federal Government. At very least, existing Federal facilities could and should be maintained prior to ‘news worthy’ social programs. Our governments values and ethos needs to be rolled back several decades.

We loved camping at Redstreak! The campground is mostly quiet, with lots of tree cover. We did like the trails, too (there are so many available right from the campground!), but bring bug spray, and the mosquitos were AWFUL. (We wished we brought our thermacell for our site!). The bathrooms are older, but in our loop there were 4 women’s showers and three toilets, and I never had to compete for the showers (so different from Banff!). I do wish that they did a better job of cleaning the bathrooms - it looks like they go in daily, but they did a half assed job every time, leaving mud smears on doors, etc. (I actually went and asked them to clean a toilet after two days of seeing someone else’s blood on it, and they did it really quickly, which was great, but I just wish they actually took the time to clean the bathroom better in the first place). I did see 3 people walk in to clean both bathrooms in the morning on our last day, but they were only in the bathrooms for 15 minutes before leaving, and there was still mud smeared on a door, etc after they left :( We did go to the Parks Canada performances at night (Taylor Swift Airs Tour and Bergemon) and they were both SO WELL DONE!! We absolutely adored the performances, and were so sad we didn’t get to see any on our last couple nights there. 100% recommend the performances at 7:30pm in the theatre! One other point is that there aren’t any sinks for dishwashing, and so other campers were washing dishes in the bathroom or plugging the water drain by doing dishes right at the water station without scraping their food off. Not a campground issue, but if you are going to this campground, bring your own dishwashing stuff (bucket, stove to heat water, soap, etc) and be prepared to do it at your campsite. Overall a great time, I honestly just wish that the staff cleaned the bathrooms better :)

Yelp
Great place to camp, site are small and almost on top of each others. I wish the bathrooms were cleaned more often as I often didn't have toilet paper in my stall and they were just gross overall. Still better than outhouses.

Yelp
If you like one of those campgrounds with 300 sites packed incredibly close together, lots of parties, this is your site. Literally the worst campground in the Rockies after 38 years of camping throughout the Canadian rockies. Kind of like a crappy RV park. Go to Marble Canyon or the meadows, the scenery is gorgeous, just avoid the KOA crowd at Redstreak. First site they assigned me was 8 x 12 including a picnic table between 70 other sites with nothing between them, despite reserving a different site months in advance. The city dump would be a wash.

Yelp
We stayed at Redstreak in an Otentik for three nights (if you stay on a long weekend, you have to stay for 3 nights consecutive). The Otentik was clean and the mattress was comfortable. The Otentik is not heated so bring lots of warm camping blankets & clothes. A small lantern is left on the table. There is a broom and dustpan and garbage can inside so you can sweep the floor. There is a food locker outside that looks like it can fit a cooler or backpack. We stored our food in the car. Like another reviewer remarked, the washrooms were really close and really clean. They were in need of a paint job though. Many people were using the washrooms to wash their dishes. Would like to see a designated area to wash dishes & dispose of dish water inside the washrooms. The Otentik experience seemed overpriced for $120.00 per night for a room with no heat, no lights, no electricity,...since a hotel room with heat, cable and some other amenties could be sought for around that cost. To have a fire, you needed a fire permit for your camp site. A fire permit was extra at $9.00 per night. I have been to Redstreak at least one other time. It is a beautiful camp. This time and last time we were here there was a bear spotted in the area. Posters by the entrance and men's and woman's washroom clearly noted the bear in the area. I was surprised that I seemed to be the only camper carrying bear spray, especially this time of year (unless it was concealed). I would not take a chance and carry it (in hands) each time I was away from the campsite especially since the place was not overly busy with campers. Even Parks Staff at the Vistor Information Centre were saying how the bears come right into Radium and try to get into the dumpsters at the grocery store & restaurants this time of year. TIP: carry your bear spray! Do not keep food in the Otentik, use the food locker outside.

Yelp
Redstreak is a beautiful campground located just minutes from the Radium Hot Springs town site and the Hot Springs pool. There are a variety of sites: tenting, RV, pull through, full service, no service, walk-up, little cabins/huts. A fire permit is extra but firewood is provided; however, keep in mind you will need a park pass to stay here (which can be purchased at the campground gates). In total (with a fire permit), it came to about $55.00 for one night. The registration process was a bit of a joke - if you didn't have a reservation of course. It was taking anywhere between 7 to 15 minutes per unit to check in (on a Monday afternoon no less) which almost sent me into breakdown mode with about 12-15 cars ahead of us when we arrived. The sites were nice - we ended up with a walk up site on the edge of a cliff. It was nice, but we were pretty close to our neighbors, and having to walk back and forth to the car every time you needed anything got a little tiring eventually. The facilities were clean and well kept (free showers are nice too). I would also recommend taking the hike to the hot springs pool; it was beautiful and not overly strenuous. I don't know that this would be our first choice for camping in the area, but we would certainly consider it. I think we would likely look into making a reservation though next time since no one wants to spend 2 hours in line on their vacation!

Yelp
We just spent 3 nights at Redstreak. We arrived and were greeted by Parks Canada staff and having our reservation in hand were in quickly. We went Labor Day Long Weekend so reservation was key as the entire site was sold out! Not sure how busy it is on a regular weekend. We paid an extra $9 per day for the fire permit which included free firewood. The site was nice. Our tent area was pretty sloped so we pitched it down in another area closer to the car. There were some very nice looking sites buried in the trees or near the cliff overlooking the valley. Overall great site. One thing that made my girlfriends weekend was the bathrooms! No we obviously were not back country camping.. The bathrooms were kept clean, nice showers, good water pressure and hot water! Very close to Radium and Invermere, and there was a farmers market right at the bottom on the campground entrance both Friday and Saturday night from 4-9. Pets are allowed but kept on leash. We both agree that we would go back to Redstreak anytime!

Yelp
Great place to camp. Parks staff are friendly but some are a bit fussy with the rules so you have to pick and chose your battles. Washrooms are well kept and there are plenty of playgrounds for kids. There is a lake in invemere so 20 minute drive. You don't have to bring change for showers it's included in the cost of fees. I highly recommend this campground.

Yelp
We booked a reservation for two sites, one tenting and one with the otentik. the campground is very nice with full washrooms, showers and bear bins. the otentik is awesome and we were really impressed with the size and quality. It is high on top of the mountain so you have to drive to get into town. when you purchase a fire permit you get free firewood which was great. It's a shame our experience wasn't better given its a great site. so what could be wrong? well if you're the type of person who is in bed by 10pm and gone from the site all day then this is a better place for you. If you're the type of people who want to talk around the fire, play card games and have fun with friends then this is not an inviting place to go. Our first night there we got a noise complaint for "giggling". at the 11pm quiet time we went inside our otentik and played some card games trying to be respectful and quiet. the next morning we were served with a warning. then that same day the rangers came back to "forewarn" us about the quiet time as apparently even during the day we were being too loud getting our dinner ready. Needless to say it somewhat ruined the whole experience, especially considering we weren't drinking or partying. Other friends of ours were there and they got a notice when they were up casually talking around the campfire after 11 so if you're looking to have any sort of fun at your site I would not recommend this place at all.
