This is a reservation based jazz club - at least that's the suggestion. I got my tickets via Booking.com, and the only available option was a "Super VIP" package for 50 euro. It purportedly came with front row seats, a bottle of champagne or wine, and a "personalized song."
Upon arrival, it became clear that I did not need the Super VIP. The venue is small enough that you can sit just about anywhere and see/hear the band. The first four seats nearest the stage are the Super VIP area - I was the only person sitting there 🤦🏻♂️.
There was no drink service or food to speak of. I was given a voucher upon entry and had to go to the bar to get my bottle. I never saw a waiter or server at any point throughout the evening. They supposedly have nuts and chips available to order.
The atmosphere is fine. It's a kitsch-y mix of American jazz memorabilia and European red light vibes.
The music was also fine. The band was talented, but they varied in age from middle to ancient. The trumpet player visibly gave-up on riffs during several songs. The lead singer did her best, but listening to American jazz in a Czech accent is an acquired taste, at best. She also brought her 90-year old clarinet playing dad along for some reason (I'm not making this up). He got to play a few offbeat notes every so often.
All-in-all, this is absolutely a tourist trap. The claim is that this is Europe's oldest jazz bar. I don't know if that's true or not, but unless it's important that you see the place Bill Clinton blew some sax at 30 years ago, I don't think it's worth a visit.
