We spent a couple of nights in Ferndale at the redwood Suites.
The woman at registration when we checked in was not particularly friendly - her responses to questions were curt and she seemed annoyed by having to answer or queries.
The room smelled of disinfectant, and we had to air it out before it was comfortable to use.
Meals are taken at the Victorian Inn, of which Redwood Suites is a part. My wife had a spinach salad on our first night, and the spinach was not fresh, nor were the walnuts.
Redwood Suites offers a complimentary breakfast, which is a nice touch. However, on the two days we had breakfast, my eggs, which were ordered scrambled, were not at all scrambled but more omelette-like, and rubbery. On our second morning my wife ordered yogurt and fruit, but the server said they were out of that option, very disappointing as we were among the first people in the restaurant.
My wife felt the server was less than friendly and helpful - she had to ask for water twice, the server didn't bring condiments to the table when requested (why condiments had to be requested and brought from the kitchen seemed strange - they are generally on the table) and by the time they arrived our meal was getting cold.
Overall, not the best experience. We ate at other places in town, and stayed at and ate at other places on our trip, all with much more satisfactory results. Look elsewhere if you want a great experience.
