Re’em Yarra Valley at Helen & Joey Estate - Restaurant, Hotel, Best Winery, Cellar Door

Such a hidden gem in the Yarra Valley! My husband and I enjoyed a three-day getaway at this hotel, and it was absolutely amazing. The food was outstanding, and the overall ambience was truly high class. We especially loved the Chinese-infused cuisine, which completely spoiled our taste buds. The suite was fantastic, with the huge round bathtub being the highlight of our stay. Soaking in the tub while taking in the breathtaking views was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. We would absolutely love to come back again!

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and seamless wedding experience than what we had at Re’em Yarra Valley. From the moment we visited, we knew it was a special place — stunning surroundings, incredible food, and an atmosphere that felt both intimate and refined. Our guests are still talking about how gorgeous the venue was and how amazing the food and wine were. A very special thank you to Britney, our venue coordinator, who truly made the entire experience exceptional. She handled our many (many!) questions and requests with such patience, professionalism, and warmth. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and her attention to detail and calm execution on the day gave us so much peace of mind. Everything ran so smoothly, and it was clear how much care and experience she brought to the day. We are so grateful to the entire Re’em team for helping bring our wedding vision to life.

We recently dined at Re’em and had such a lovely experience overall. The property itself is stunning — surrounded by rolling vineyards and picture-perfect views, it’s definitely one of those places that instantly feels special. We tried their two-course menu, and both the presentation and flavours really stood out. The ingredients tasted fresh, and you could tell there was attention to detail in every dish. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re after a peaceful Yarra Valley lunch with a view — though it’s worth knowing that the menu leans more on the fine dining side, so expect smaller portions and premium pricing. Visited this place last week, after reading reviews and seeing amazing pictures. The review is based on our experience in the first 15mins post which we just decided to leave. So I can’t comment on the wine or food. Location is 5/5 absolutely beautiful Service: 1/5 We are big foodies and wine fanatics and often visit wineries with our dog and this place read dog friendly. We visited on a fine sunny day, arrived at the reception kept waiting for the 2 people at the reception to say something but they just looked and put their head down. Proceeded a few steps only for someone to come and abruptly tell ‘you can’t bring the dog, go to the back’. That itself left a very sour taste. When asking where the area is, he pointed me to an area which was barely 10 steps and no tables occupied on the way. He still asked us to take the outdoor way (which is ok and I respect boundaries) now there was no outdoor pedestrian way! We had to just walk on the vehicle road in opposite direction to get on the backside and then take stairs with a little dog. 10 times the distance After coming on the other side, again no one comes outside to check in. When we go and asked inside, that’s when they decide to say we can’t serve food outside. Only wine and cheese. The terrace was hot and not ideal for a dog to sit down. So don’t call yourself dog friendly if you’re not going to serve and have even a proper walk way to the place. And please be nice and upfront about such things so we can make informed decisions. I spent my early-winter birthday in the Yarra Valley and chose the Reem Hotel at Helen & Joey Estate. I had only booked one night, but the stay healed me so much that I added another—I simply couldn’t leave. It became the most relaxing and happiest little trip my wife and I have taken in years. The moment we arrived, the view stunned us: vineyards stretching across the hills, a quiet lake, gardens trimmed like a secret fairytale hideaway, and air scented with grass and wine. Our room had huge floor-to-ceiling windows facing the lake, and when we opened the balcony door, we could hear the wind brushing through the treetops. The afternoon sun was perfect that day. We sat on the lakeside deck with a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir, a soft breeze drifting by. My wife leaned on my shoulder, and for that moment, the whole world felt completely still. Dinner at Reem was wonderful. We could watch the head chef cooking in the open kitchen, and the seasonal ingredients were paired beautifully. The main was wagyu slow-cooked for 48 hours—so tender it melted instantly—paired with the estate’s Shiraz, which was spot-on. The staff noticed we were celebrating a birthday and quietly wrote “Happy Birthday” on our dessert, then surprised us with a bottle of sparkling. My wife’s eyes lit up instantly. Nighttime was the most magical. Back in the room, we opened the curtains and saw the lake reflecting tiny lights, and the sky looked freshly washed—the Milky Way was clearly visible. Wrapped in blankets on the balcony, sipping the last of our red wine while listening to faint crickets in the distance, we felt a long-lost sense of pure calm. It had been years since we’d switched off this completely. Our phones stayed on silent; work, messages, alarms—none of it existed. Early the next morning, birdsong woke us. A thin layer of mist floated above the lake, like something out of a dream. Breakfast in the garden was simple but thoughtful: fresh smoothies, warm croissants, the estate’s homemade jam, and poached eggs with truffle oil. We had planned to stay just one night, but we couldn’t leave and immediately booked a second. That evening we ordered a cheese platter, sat by the lake, and watched the sunset paint the valley gold and red. Wild kangaroos hopped across the grass nearby. My wife kept calling me to look, smiling like an excited kid. Those two nights felt like they washed away years of built-up fatigue. Reem Hotel isn’t just a hotel—it’s a place that teaches you how to slow down again. The room, the food, the service, the scenery—everything exceeded expectations, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Honestly, it deserves ten stars. Thank you to every staff member at Helen & Joey Estate for giving us such a beautiful memory in the spring of 2025—one we’ll think back on again and again. We’ll definitely be back next year, and this time we’re bringing our parents so they can experience this warmth and happiness too. (Highly recommended for anyone wanting to escape the city and spend a few days with the person they love. This place will make you fall in love with life again.)

This luxe boutique hotel in Gruyere (Yarra Valley region) was a pleasant impromptu overnight stay (impulsively booked a couple days prior for a quiet weekend away). I believe I may have nabbed the last available room as there are only 16 guest rooms & believed I secured one of their 'standard' rooms as the fancier ones had already been snapped up. Well, I was surprised to find out their basic rooms were far from standard and definitely much nicer than most upgraded 4-5 star hotel rooms in any capital city, spacious open rain shower, Nespresso pod machine, free standing deep bathtub included. The rooms were spacious, unbelievably clean (I have an unshakable habit of inspecting nooks, corners, drains, signs of infestations and previous guest damage upon check in) and it was immaculate, however having said that this is a boutique hotel and freshly built in 2023. The grounds have a modern feel, there is a cellar door on the premises and a restaurant serving mod Asian cuisine, this establishment also looks set up for scenic weddings, with a beautiful lake swimming with a resident pelican and ducks and lush backdrop, which our room opened up to. Our room was located in the 'basement', sounds terrible but in reality, was perfect, the building is built in reverse as to make use of the hill it sits upon for maximum scenery intake for the top level, there was a stunning fishpond at the base of the stairwell of the basement with the cutest array of goldfish, ranging from petite babies to well fed fatties, whenever we stopped to admire them they would swim up to us eagerly, probably expecting food, utterly adorable. The vibe is relaxed, quiet, serene and modern, I loved the balance of welcoming but not intrusive professionalism of all staff. Check on and check out was extremely smooth and quick. We also received a complimentary voucher to redeem for a drink at the cellar door, but silly me, forgot about it, Breakfast is also complimentary, there is an a la carte menu of breakfast favorites with an Asian inspired twist such as scrambled eggs, poached eggs, fritters etc. also dumplings or congee and a small selection of pastries & juice you can help yourself to. I shouldn't complain but I would have loved if there was oat milk as an option for coffees (only soy & almond available). Loads of parking and close to other wineries such as St. Huberts, Chandon etc. Would love to come back again soon!

Re’em at Helen & Joey Estate is the perfect date night destination in the Yarra Valley. The setting is stunning — surrounded by rolling vineyards and a serene, modern atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel special from the moment you arrive. We had the two-course meal with cocktails and loved every bite. The chilli crab was rich and fragrant, the smoked aurum duck beautifully tender, and the fish cooked at 50°C was perfectly silky. Even the buckwheat gnocchi was a standout.

Beautiful location and the food was delicious. Booked a lunch at Re'em restaurant, very nice decor and overlooking the winery ground and beautiful lake/pound with the fountain. The food was Asian influenced which is rather unique to find in the winery restaurants. The service was excellent too, the staff were friendly and very attentive. A lovely experience overall. Highly recommended.
