A truly unforgettable experience. The airport pickup, the transfer and check-in were smooth and seamless. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and (literally) connects you to the jungle. Food is excellent and we also enjoyed the Amazonian cocktails! Our guide, Dino is professional, patient and knowledgeable. He’s also a very good photographer and has helped us capture many wonderful moments in the tours! Note: It is the Amazon so don’t be surprised to find some wildlife in your room! Also, the rooms are only divided by partition walls, so we were woken up by some inconsiderate neighbors one early morning…

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Refugio Amazonas Lodge at the beginning of June. ||It started with a seamless airport pickup and provided packed lunch which was absolutely delicious. The lodge itself is gorgeous and well maintained - you will need to bring sandals, flip flops or clean sneakers to change into so that you don't track mud into the lodge when you come back from your excursions! We went at the end of the wet season so we got to experience rain and mud. The lodge provides rubber boots to wear so that you don't need to worry about getting mud all over your hiking boots. ||As for the excursions, we took part in the night hike, the Macaw Clay Lick, the Oxbow Lake, the Mammal Clay Lick, the Canopy Tower and the Farm experience. All of these were excellent and made even better by our great guide, Ederson. He knew exactly where to find the animals and had a keen eye to spot things that we would have walked past! He was also happy to take pictures of the animals through his binocular scope - in fact, some of the best photos we have from our trip were taken by Ederson with his scope! ||The rooms at the lodge were well appointed and even though there are only 3 walls, you feel very safe and comfortable. We loved having a local troop of howler monkeys as our alarm clock when we stayed! You'll be amazed at all of the wildlife you'll see and hear around the lodge. The food for breakfast, lunch and dinner is buffet style and excellent. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. At night, the lodge hosts a lecture just before dinner about the different research projects they have ongoing with Wired Amazon. These were hosted by Gabriel and were very informative, my family really enjoyed them. ||All in all, our stay at Refugio Amazonas Lodge was a once in a lifetime experience and easily the highlight of our vacation in Peru!

Refugio Amazonas was the most amazing experience, especially in the middle of the rainforest! We especially liked the rooms with the open window plan where we could see and be in the midst of nature at all times. Icing on the cake? A hummingbird flew into the room on our last day there. The food was a wonderful mix of local cuisine and international options. The excursions were educational and the guides extremely knowledgeable. We loved our stay there!

My family of four, two teenagers, found this to be a great way to experience multiple aspects of the rainforest. Our first night we hiked with our excellent guide JC, equipped with a laser pointer and a black light, he showed us aspects of the forest we could have seen in no other way. |In the following days we did a 5 mile bike ride through the jungle, climbed to the top of a 140-ft (42 m) canopy tower at sunset and watched flocks of macaw's fly past and land in the trees, experienced dozens of macaws socializing at a clay lick, and flew over the river and rainforest using 3D headsets and a drone camera guided by an expert biologist , We toured a botanic garden, went to the farm where they raised some of the fruit that we ate,and learned how the Brazil nut trees are conserved and used to maintain the indigenous owners of the reserve. There is a very respectful interaction between the ongoing scientific projects that the property is engaged in and the local people who staff and run it. |Did I mention that the food is excellent? The showers are hot all day. There is 24/7 electricity and very rapid Wi-Fi. I was amazed that even on the river launches you can use Wi-Fi with starlink. We probably only did half of the activities that were available in the two full days that we were here.|The staff were at all times helpful, available, and agreeable. It's pretty clear why this is the number one rated place. It is expensive, but there is a lot of value here.

It was such a beautiful building and eating area. Staff so helpful and kind. I loved the hammock in our room. Our excursions and night hikes were perfect and the guides and naturalists were wonderful to work with and showed us so much!

Really enjoyed the entire visit - with one excursion exception. Our assigned guide, Dennis, was particularly kind and helpful - and a great wildlife spotter! This trip was our first experience in South America, and I was very happy to see the emphasis on environmental protection. Perhaps the best eperience was one of our boat rides where we got to see a variety of wildlife. But also appreciated the Clay Lick visit, and the "forest canopy" platform, the farm visit, and the lectures. One excursion that was Not very good was the camera trap excursion. It was a let down in that we didn't see more cameras, didn't see more photos of wildlife. The guide just did a cursory setting of a camera trap and that was it. Poor English, also....

What an amazing place Refugio Amazonas Lodge is! From the moment, you are collected, you know you are in safe hands. The organization of transfers (via bus and boat) to the lodge is seamless and to arrive by boat, the most wonderful experience.||After the warmest of greetings, a clear presentation is given of all the activities available and with a personal guide assigned, we felt assured that all we would want from a rainforest experience would be delivered - it was and more!||Our guide, Louis, was superb! A brilliant communicator with extraordinary observational skills and a vast knowledge, he was also extremely likeable, good company and obviously cared that we should have the best time. He not only was able to spot birds and wildlife with incredible acuity, but imparted information which our family found fascinating. Our thanks and appreciation will always be with him for giving us such an unforgettable time.||It is also only right to mention that all the staff with whom we came into contact, were both excellent and attentive. Praise should particularly be given to the chefs and waiting staff (delicious food) and to the domestic staff who make the rooms impeccable.||I would not hesitate in recommending Refugio Amazonas to anyone. When visiting somewhere "out of the ordinary", it is important to seek out "The Best of the Best" and that is indeed what I believe Refugio Amazonas offers.

Amazing experience sleeping in open lodges and exploring many walking trails through the Amazon. Great service by the hotel manager and local guides. The food was excellent. There are many different activities to choose from. Need 3-4 days here to get the most out of your trip.
