Refúgio Ecológico Pedra Afiada Hotel e Pousada

Amazing resort. The staff were really friendly, polite, helpful and professional. We got upgraded to a better and bigger house because the one we booked had problem with hot shower. The location is stunning, beautifully sit behind the canyon and mountain offering great nature scenery with full privacy. There are plenty of adventurous activities to enjoy. The price is more reasonable with inclusion of breakfast and great dinner.||The only thing we didn’t like was the first staff we met rushed us to make a decision for activities when we asked at arrival at 4 pm. We felt a little pressured to take some activity and decided to wait. We later decided to do it in the morning. The ziplining in front of the waterfall was amazing by the way.

We went up into the mountains to stay at this stunning retreat. IT is in the middle of beautiful mountains and forest. The reception area has lovely seating areas and a bar, if it is cold they light a log fire.We had a very nice room with outside hammock looking at mountains, and a modern bathroom. The restaurant was elegant and the evening meal and breakfast was excellent. We had a guide to take us into the forest on a walk to a beautiful waterfall and Daniel was very informative about the area. If you are more active you can abseil or go on a zip wire, and a climbing wall in reception. Enjoy the outside seating area and relax. The staff will see to your every need willingly.

This place is awesome! Perfect, I would say! We went there once just for a quick visit and we loved and planned to come back as soon as possible! We did last week and it was so good for the hole family! We had a great time with the staff and guides, met other families who was there for vacation time as well with their children and enjoyed the canyon from the inside! The service is a five stars, the hostes are specially kind and the food is wonderful! We strongly recommend this place

We stayed here for three nights, and it’s well worth a visit if you happen to be in this area. We used it at as a stopover on way to Porto Alegre from Florianopolis, and glad we did! |Staff are all very friendly and helpful, though you may struggle if you do not speak Portuguese,though one young man could understand and speak some English, but we struggled in general with communication. |Food is excellent, buffet style breakfast and dinner with a wide choice of food. |Rooms comfortable and clean. |Recommend if you like a relaxing break with stunning views of the canyon. |

I had recently heard about the Brazilian canyons, on the border of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, the two southernest Brazilian states. My wife and I went there to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We love long walks amidst nature wonders, and that is precisely what we got. The people at the pousada are very friendly and helpful, and they have all kinds of activities, including none at all. The Brazilian canyons is a place that you should definitely visit in your life. We are very glad we did. And we plan to come back with the whole family.

We all loved the Refúgio! It exceeded our expectations.||The place is gorgeous and all the attendants are very efficient. We were very lucky with the good weather too.||I would definately recommend it to everyone who likes this type of nature and adventure sports.

One of the greatest 'of the beaten path' places I have been to. Waking up in the morning with nothing but the sounds of nature and a view of one of the canyons was an amazing experience! The drive to Cambara do Sul was too (a little scary with a 3-speed Chevrolet)

Great staff, beautiful nature. Must stay in the area. Be sure to check the weather as this region changes fast and only shows its beauty in good weather
