Refúgio Hostel Fortaleza

A great hostel with lots of common spaces so hangout in, both indoors and outdoors (little balconies, a terrace and a garden too). Plenty of bathrooms and a decent kitchen. The staff were super helpful, especially Ruan! |Location was excellent as you could walk to the beach as well as to the street with restaurants. ||I’ll be returning again before I leave fortaleza!

The kitchen was pretty decent and the reception staff for the most part really helpful. It was also great to have ample communal space to relax. Location was also pretty good. We had an unfortunate experience in the dorm with another disgruntled and rude guest. While this was not the fault of the hostel necessarily, the way it was handled by staff was entirely unprofessional. A simple apology would’ve gone a long way. On top of this, the room was hot and the fans provided little airflow making for a sweaty nights sleep. All in all, perhaps this hostel is overpriced given its facilities.

Only stayed here for one night before our night bus to Natal but was an excellent stay. In a very quiet part of town but easy to walk to the centre. And the staff were very helpful with giving information on how to buy bus tickets etc.

Very nice place. Good space in the rooms, nice vibes, sweet people. I want to thank especially Vitoria, Matheus and Anna for their help and kindness. Also very good tips on what to do in the city. The manager, Karl, helpful and chatty as well. Eyes-opening conversations. Had a great time. Definitely my to-go-to, if I ever visit again. Cheers

As a whole the hostel is really great - good location, well looked after, plenty of bathrooms (though could be cleaned more regularly in the morning) and a good place to meet people. The dorm was hooot 🥵 so the door needed to be left open - more fans would be useful!

My stay here was great! No complaints. The neighborhood is walking distance from lots of cool places and the beach, and turned out to feel a little safer than it looked at first. The private room was everything I wanted! The laundry service and housekeeping options were very convenient. Special shoutouts to Ruan for helping me find a place to try sandboarding and to Victoria for great service with a smile. Abraços!

Best Hostel, loved my stay. Met wonderful people and staff is always willing to help! Ryan had great advice for things to do around Fortaleza! Will come back here always!

The place is safe, pleasant and clean. There is a strong international presence. It is well located and has excellent service. Certainly the best hostel in Fortaleza.
