Regent Beijing

"This glass-fronted high-rise is a 15-minute walk from Tiananmen Square. Interiors meld classic and contemporary styles, and the spacious rooms are decorated with Chinese art, large windows for views of the Forbidden City, and soaking tubs. Daccapo's Italian fare is an alternative to the modern Asian cuisine at Jinbao 99."

Regent Beijing (Beijing, China) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Beijing is placing big bets on the future, with a wealth of high-profile building projects — Herzog & de Meuron’s Olympic Stadium and the Rem Koolhaas-designed CCTV tower, a new mammoth airport terminal by Norman Foster, and many more. And in advance of the expected surge in travel demand, some big hotel projects have opened as well, including this one, the 500-room Regent Beijing." - Tablet Hotels

Our stay at Regent Beijing was pleasant overall. The hotel’s location is definitely one of its strongest points — very central and convenient, making it easy to get around and explore the city. The room itself was generously sized, which we appreciated, though the décor and fittings are starting to show their age and could benefit from a modern update. If you're booking the family room, just be aware that the “extra bed” is basically a single bed placed in the sofa area. It works, but it’s something to note if you're expecting a more structured setup. We didn’t use many of the hotel facilities, so we can’t comment much there. Breakfast was okay — quite basic with nothing particularly standout. All in, a comfortable stay with an excellent location, but some areas could use a refresh to elevate the overall experience.

We wanted a 5-star experience while in Beijing for 3 nights and The Regent did not disappoint! The imposing lobby greets you upon arrival followed by highly attuned hotel staff to ensure your stay is perfect. Our guest room was beautifully appointed. The quality of food in the restaurants was exceptional. Every morning, we sat down to a sumptuous breakfast buffet. And we especially enjoyed the central location, not far from Forbidden City, and just a 15-minute taxi ride to the Honggiao ("Pearl") Market where we shopped til we dropped -- luggage, electronics, and handbags just a few of the items we bought far below retail. No wonder The Regent Hotel is so highly regarded by seasoned travelers!

We chose Regent Beijing mainly for its location, and it definitely didn’t disappoint — very centralised and convenient for getting around the city. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the overall design and furnishings felt a bit dated and could use a refresh to match the hotel’s reputation. We didn’t really use much of the facilities during our stay, so can’t comment much on those. Breakfast was average — nothing fantastic, but decent enough to start the day.Overall, a comfortable stay with great location, though there’s room for improvement in terms of updating the interiors and elevating the breakfast experience.

The staff were lovely, very attentive. Breakfast was great- everything you could ask for. I got the king room with forbidden city view and it was nice but I'm not sure if was worth extra- the air quality wasn't great and the view wasn't stunning. As others have mentioned, the room was too hot and I couldn't open the windows or adjust it. But it was still a lovely stay, very convenient location, nice bathtub, beautiful room.

We stayed at the Regent Beijing on a business trip and were thoroughly impressed.||Ambience & Design: The hotel has a pleasant and stylish atmosphere. The decor is elegant and modern, creating a calm and professional environment – ideal for business travelers.||Rooms & Business Lounge: Our premium room was spacious, comfortable, and very well-equipped. Access to the quiet Business Lounge was a real highlight, providing a perfect space to work or relax.||Service: Service throughout our stay was excellent – attentive, friendly, and professional.||Breakfast: The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options and was both delicious and diverse.||Value for Money: Considering the quality of the rooms, service, and facilities, the pricing is fair and justified.||Conclusion: An excellent choice for business travelers seeking both comfort and top-notch service. We would gladly stay here again.

We stay for one night for a staycation. The atmosphere was welcoming and the hotel had already decorated for Christmas. I had paid for a view of the Forbidden City and was not disappointed. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The room cleanliness was great. The breakfast was excellent, and there was plenty of choice.

All the staff here are excellent. A special mention to the ladies on the Concierge Desk, Fred in the bar, the young lady in Daccapo who looked after us twice during our stay, the terrific Breakfast Team and housekeeping/maintenance who dealt with a water pressure issue in our room amazingly quickly.||Our room (Classic room on the 9th floor, overlooking the quite busy (and noisy) Dongsi South Street) was fine, if a little tired and in need of a bit of TLC. As noted elsewhere soundproofing is not great.||Really convenient location close by the metro, although it’s definitely walkable to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen.||Plenty of restaurants onsite (we tried Daccapo and Morton’s) and locally (try 1949 Duck de Chine for a bit of duck theatre!).||Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. Good service especially given the number of people looking to eat at the same time so they could get away on their sightseeing day.||The main negative is that the hotel has a massive atrium and there are lots of people coming into and going out of the doors, which ensures that the ground floor and the breakfast level are both well ventilated (ie are quite chilly, at least in October).

We stayed at the Regent Beijing for five nights before our Viking cruise. Three of the nights were arranged as part of a pre cruise land package Unfortunately my husband became ill - a kidney stone - which required a trip to the emergency room. So the last two nights were because we needed to go back and forth to the international department of the Peking Union Medical College. From the moment I called the front desk we were immediately cared for. The staff if fluent in English, very good at their jobs and very helpful. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning. When I needed to bring it to the room, Harry, a dining room manager, helped me When I needed forms printed the reception staff was very accommodating The hotel itself is beautiful. It’s in a very good spot to see the Forbidden City. It’s a three block walk to the hospital. Lots of places to eat. Concierge was very helpful. I would recommend Regent Beijing if you plan to visit Beijing.
