Regina Maria Spa Design Hotel

I'm going to break down my review, as follows 1.staff-5stars. Super nice, polite, helpful, from the nice ladies in the reception, to the wonderful gentleman running the restaurant, to the lady in the spa section and the massage therapists. All super. 2. Services-great. Was amazing to have sauna, steam room, massage and in door pool. Very good service. 3. My room, Arabian studio, was great. Super spacey, bathtub in the room, sea view, big balcony to the sea. Amazing. 4. Location-5*, you cannot get it better near the Palace, free parking, sea at 10m. 5. The only Item i count with 3* is the cleaness and attention to the small details that note the hotel is quite old and needs a retouch. It was a great package, price vs quality (and I stayde 5 nights) but still, windows clean, carpet issues, toilets were 1*because of stains. Those kind of things can lead you to rooms quality 2*. Can definetly do it better. All in all good package for the prices.

I ate the best eggplant salad here. Dishes are good and service the same. Didn't stay at the hotel because everytime when I was in Balchik was a day trip, but I take in consideration to stay few days here in the future as the view offered by the hotel is awesome (it is in the front of the Black sea) and, also, it has a nice spa.

The entire hotel team (including the one from the restaurant and from the spa area) exceptionnaly friendly and helpful. The room clean, cosy, spacious and with fabulous sea view. Loved staying here (for a 3 nights stay) and hope to be back soon enough. Thank you for the warm athmosphere!

Stayed here with three friends on a golf trip. We had previously stayed here 6 years ago and I'm pleased to say that the hotel was, if anything, even better this time. The rooms were clean and the staff (especially the ladies on reception) were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location - right on the sea with every room having a sea view - is stunning and, while it is a 15-20 minute stroll into Balchik centre, it is a pleasant walk on a pedestrian walkway by the sea. And, if you don't like the walk then the hotel restaurant is very good itself!

Very comfortable Hotel close to Queen Maria of Romania's summer Palace & even closer to the sea. We had superb views of the sea from our balcony, which was large enough for us to sit out comfortably. Staff were lovely & we ate at the Hotel's restaurant every evening as the food was excellent. Definitely going back next year 😍

4 stars? For what ? Dirty room, full of insects, wallpaper coming off the walls, dirty and overused bed sheets, horrible stuff talking like they would be doing things for free … we have asked for coffee in the room at 8 am and they said they cannot bring it as it is too early for them…. stay away from this mess hotel, it is a horrible !!! Do not stay here !!!!

The location is nice, 10m from the sea and great view from the balcony (I won’t share these photos as you will see them on their page). Leaving all the good aside, here’s a list of the bad: 1. The air conditioning in the room hasn’t been cleaned in probably 10 years as seen in the photos, it’s basically a health hazard. When asked to clean them, they only dusted the filters, we bought a disinfectant ourselves and cleaned it. It also needs serviceing as it makes a horrible, and I do mean horrible sound, see clip. In order to dampen the sound we had to use toilet paper as shock absorbant. 2. TV’s are from 20 years ago, no smart function, no USB slot, super small (monitor size) and remotes barely working. I know you are on vacation but we do enjoy a movie in the evening. 3. In some bathrooms the sink and the water faucet are not aligned and you get water everywhere. Some showers don’t have a window pane, so again, water everywhere. 4. The minibar had products expired 5 months ago. 5. The restaurant is under different management which would be ok, however the table cloths are filthy, the staff is cold and have no manners (talking loudly as a group while you are having breakfast, bringing food randomly as some of the group have already eaten by the time everything is on the table, etc.). Breakfast is said to be a la carte (they give you a list of what you can choose but you cannot combine between them). 5. Hotel entrance looks like it needs a rework as the wooden stairs are almost breaking as you step. Overall the hotel could have had 4* as advertised but not a single cent seems to have been invested since it’s opening. Very disappointing for the money we paid.

We stayed there for about 5 days. The room was nice and clean, bathroom was great! The view was cool too! And I definitely recommend the “Bulgarian breakfast” that’s available in the morning if you’re staying on a BB basis. Spa manicure isn’t great and the pool water is both cold and made our skin itchy - too much antibacterials, I guess. The massages were, however, very nice (at an acceptable price, although a bit higher ranged). Restaurant isn’t something to be proud of, average food and slow serving, and yet the staff were nice. Overall, we had a nice experience, nothing extraordinary.
