Hotel Regina Palace, a Design Boutique Hotel Stresa, Italy

"Hotel Regina Palace is a majestic Art Nouveau building offering refined classic-style interiors and a large garden with pool. It is right on the shore of Lake Maggiore, in Stresa. Rooms and common lounges are all decorated with antique furniture, rugs and historic chandeliers, all giving a sense of history and nobility. Rooms overlook either the garden or the lake and some also feature a spa bath. This 4-star hotel features a well-equipped wellness area, complete with a sauna, Turkish bath and indoor pool set in a grotto. Outside you will also find a tennis court and a furnished terrace by the pool. Liberty Restaurant serves local dishes in a very elegant dining room, while Charleston Restaurant specializes in a sophisticated cuisine. Its dining room has big windows overlooking Lake Maggiore and outdoor dining is possible during summer. The Regina Palace is 1969 feet from Stresa Train Station. The A26 motorway exit is a 10-minute drive away." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Regina palace is one of the best hotels we have had stayed over the years we visited Italy. The staff at the reception and the breakfast were professional and attentive. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, with lots of natural light. For us, we had the interior garden and pool view, pleasant to see the mountains when open the windows. Gorgeous belle-époque bar and game room, with classical music playing. The spa on the ground floor is a treat, modern and clean. The pool is open during long hours. We will definitely come back!

My aunt and I stayed for a week in June. Our room was on floor 4 with a view overlooking the lake which was beautiful, we enjoyed sitting and watch the Swifts at eye level. Room clean, the only thing which was disappointing was the mini bar which you had to pay to use to keep your own drinks in. We stayed half board, the food was excellent with a choice of dishes every night, well presented. |Gardens and pool area well kept and pretty |Hotel interior is fitting for the hotel style with amazing chandeliers. |Staff all friendly and helpful - thank you to all. | I would stay here again, just lovely and relaxed.

Spent a week in this "belle epoque" elegant hotel. Not the place for every one, but I felt right at home as I had the pleasure of working there part time during my college years in Stresa(1959/1961). The hotel has kept its own elegance of times past, with an abundance of marbles and gilded lights, taps, decorations etc.|The buffet breakfast was excellent, very varied and the coffee or teas came on solid silver pots. Dinner was good with a good choice, even if we were par of a tour group. The service was first class and I was glad to see that the Maître D, Savino(hope I got the name right), was upholding the old standards.|A very pleasant stay down memory lane.

On arrival there was a guest complaining about the housekeeping service. We were initially concerned that we had chosen the wrong hotel. Absolutely not - it was fantastic. Location very close to everything that you would want. Our room was a little small but luxurious. Old fashioned but in a good way. Outdoor pool was lovely and pretty quiet. The indoor pool and spa was quiet after 5pm. We didn’t eat in the hotel as there were lots of restaurants and cafes on the doorstep. Would absolutely recommend this hotel and the housekeeping was great !

Very impressed with our couple of nights stay here. Fantastic location. Stunning architecture. Classy service. Wonderful breakfast.|Room: Requested a quiet room and was given a lovely room at the back of the hotel looking over the pool, gardens and nearby hills, with a small balcony. Air-conditioning worked well, plenty of toiletries, robe and fluffy towels. We didn't use the mini bar. |Hotel: The hotel decor and gardens are stunning. The outdoor pool is relaxing, easy to get sunbeds in July, huge pool towels available for guests. |Staff: The reception staff were wonderful, helpful and efficient. Wait staff were discreetly attentive.|Breakfast: A vast array of choice. Range of fruit, pastries, breads, meats and cheeses, cakes, yogurts plus a host of hot options. Fresh coffee made to order. We loved sitting on the terrace looking over the lake and watching the birds while we ate.|Clientele: Mostly older people, some in tour groups. A couple of families with children, some mixed family groups. Range of nationalities. Hotel felt genteel. |I am surprised by other reviews criticising the staff, they were fantastic. There is no tea/coffee in the rooms but we didn't need this, so it wasn't an issue for us. There are so many nice cafes to explore. |

We were blown away by how beautiful the hotel and the property were. Sitting of the banks of Lake Maggiore, the setting is breathtaking. Very large, ornate rooms that are extremely comfortable. The beds were perfect. It was very quiet at night. Patio and terrace in our room that offered stunning views. The staff goes out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable. The food in the restaurant was delicious as well. Highly recommended this hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel full of old style Italian charm. One or two people have said that it's old fashioned, well of course it is! If you don't appreciate this kind of old world charm go and stay in a Travelodge . The room was comfy, clean and well furnished, staff were excellent and the food was very good too. It is in a great setting overlooking the lake and very close to the charming shopping area in Stresa. A lovely place.

Amazing hotel in Stresa on shore of Lake Maggiore. Just cross the road and you are at the lakeside. The hotel is magnificent inside with stained and painted glass covers to the entrance, chandeliers in the lobby are amazing and smaller versions are in the bedrooms. Some rooms are a little small but never the less are good with plenty of wardrobe space, and all have room safes. Food is excellent even when on a package holiday. All in all a great place to stay.
