Shout out to Ryan, who over delivered and got my kiddo his bike back with a quickness. I appreciate the level of customer care we get every time we stop in, but today was over the top. Thank you again! 💪

This is a great REI! The staff were very helpful when we wanted to look at a few things that were behind glass cases and giving advice on what was best to get and when to purchase it. There was a great deal to look through in this location and they had a wide variety of items to choose from. I would recommend joining REI co-op for sure if you are at all outdoor inclined. They are a great company and they have some of the best outdoor equipment while being a great employer!

6/15/25, 5:10pm Oklahoma City location. I absolutely love this place, mind you I drive 40 minutes from Norman. Everyone that has helped me every time I’ve went in is very nice and VERY knowledgeable. I recently bought some clipless bike shoes and the clips (cleats) after a couple days they hurt my feet (toe box area) I went to return them and Cory working the register made me feel un easy about the return, asking unnecessary questions after I told him the toe area was too small. Almost like he didn’t want to take them back. Then the clips was missing 2 small 3MM screws and he did not accept the return, the main cleats were in the box just missing the 2 small screws. Now I have to make over an hour trip to find the small 3MM screws and drive back. What a hassle and unnecessary drive for 2 tiny screws.

Didn't have the Osprey backpack I wanted. I went on Osprey's website to buy it instead. I did get a cool tent though along with a goofy hat. Oklahoma is not really an outdoor kind of state. So the selection is limited :(

I went in today for some hiking sandals but I could have spent all day in here… and honestly a lot more money. They had unique items and the way the place is set up is great. It made looking around much easier! Their membership is well worth it and I love that it’s a co-op. I was in search of chaco’s in the winter and literally nobody else carried them locally that I called except this place and that’s what brought me in. Anyway, this will be my go-to place from now on!!

REI had a great opening here in Oklahoma City and I'm glad to have them here! I won $100 gift card and there's a good chance I'll win at $500 one because I am very lucky. It's a very nice place with all of your outdoor needs. Obviously the store is quite expensive because it's an outdoor store. Very clean very friendly staff Right now they're selling pretty hard on the credit card but that's okay.

REI is the best place to buy tracking, hiking, cycling and travelling items. There are good quality mountain bikes sold here. They have all the necessary items for travelling. They have excellent quality bag pack, jackets, and camps. We bought national park annual pass here for 79.99$. The customer service was excellent .

Like an adult kid in a freaking candy store, how the heck do I stop myself when in a REI?!? While this REI is the closest to my home, it is still over an hour's drive away (when will you come to Tulsa, REI?!?) Anyways, fantastically stocked with all the items one might want/need for a multitude of outdoor activities, and super friendly/knowledgeable staff. I was happy to find brands I thought only online, and to my surprise bike nutrition was on sale? That never happens with my LBS('s). I walked out and the sun was setting, how long was I in there?

Yelp
We have asked to make sure that we are allowed to take our dogs inside on other occasions but not this time. We had been shopping for about an hour and had encountered many of the employees who loved on our dogs but were then told to leave by a manager because they have a "no dog" policy. WHAT? We have been in there dozens of times with our dogs and now a no dog policy? I love the store but don't know if I'll be back. It stinks because I had a few items that I was going to buy but didn't because we got kicked out. Maybe it was an employee with too much power or maybe they did change their policy but seems ironic since you just posted an article about buying dog related gear.

Yelp
I literally did a U-Turn when I saw the REI store. I had no idea one had opened in OKC. I'm in the market for a new paddle board and desperately need a better life jacket. Staff was friendly but busy. Paddle boards were outrageously priced in my opinion, but the life jackets were reasonable (but the selection was not great). I did walk out with a great lake hat! (I did get the hard sell when I check out to become a "member." I also noticed some sale areas of the store were for members only.) I will be back.

Yelp
Honestly every time I step foot in this REI I'm always greeted by super friendly workers. Every single time, they don't miss. I forgot who helped me with my return of my hiking boots and helped me find a new pair. But the gentleman was so freaking nice and patient and really brought out so many to find the perfect fit. I love that they care because they want to make sure you're happy and comfortable so you keep doing what you love. I appreciate that. You don't get rude customer service if you're not happy with your boots. They literally just try their hardest to get you into a better pair. I really wish I remembered his name. He was an older gentleman but so freaking kind and knowledgeable. Today Avery helped me with a purchase and I finally signed up to be a member. I didn't realize you got money back. Oop. My family been making money off me then haha. Avery was super friendly and kind. Can I just come hang out? Everyone's so nice haha.

Yelp
Recreational Equipment, Inc., is more commonly known as REI. They are a co-op that's been around for about 80 years. From day one until today they strive to invest in people, the outdoors and in communities. So feel good about shopping there because they are the kindest of neighbors and are investing in OKC (even in the short time they've been here). They have all the cool kid outdoorsy stuff. It's so much fun shopping in there, even if cardio at your local Cyclebar is more your thing and a walk around Lake Hefner is your "outdooring" for the weekend. They have great clothing lines for adults and kids. They have an impressive collection of nice socks for the whole family. They have all kinds of trinkets and gadgets that make for fun gifts for anyone (including great chocolates). They sell bikes for adults and kids, have a fabulously fun tennis shoe collection. They have all the boots: hiking, rain, & snow. Their inventory of all kinds of bags (backpack, knapsack, luggage, fanny pack, packing cubes galore!) was fun to explore :) They have SO MUCH YETI GEAR. Become a lifelong member for a one time opt-in fee of $20 and then earn 10% cash back on your REI purchases throughout the year. It's a fun place to spend an hour or more. Thanks, REI for coming to OKC and investing in our friends and neighbors. It means a lot to our community to have you here. Can't wait to hangout again soon! November 2019

Yelp
I'm not even that big of an outdoorsy person but was still blown away by this place! So many options so many styles and colors and organized! The store was sectioned off by gender and even had kiddo options as well. They have everything from a warm Patagonia puff jacket to a really neat rugged tumbler or pair of socks. Everything was so well stocked and ample amount of helpful employees willing to help guide you along the way. I was trying on some coats to get ideas on what size i would be and conveniently there are mirrors everywhere within the store! The store was massive also i couldn't believe how non crowded it was even though there were a ton of people in the store since it just recently opened in November of 2019. This is conveniently located in belle isle next to Ross dress for less. One thing i did notice and was impressed by was the rei actual brand of clothes especially their leggings. I was wearing my favorite lululemon pants and the same material was in the store brand rei pants for a much smaller price tag i was super impressed with the quality.

Yelp
This was my first time to visit the new REI in Oklahoma City. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. My wife and I enjoyed looking around and checking out all the different brands. The OKC REI is not as big as Dallas or Kansas City. At least we finally have one in Oklahoma. Wish Tulsa would get one too.

Yelp
I walked in to the OKC location for REI on Sunday (10/31) with the goal of researching my costs for gear I will need for my first hike in the late summer of 2022. I was greeted by multiple friendly associates who provided me with valuable information about trekking poles, bio-friendly bug repellent, etc. Then I made my way to the boots, where I must have looked like a deer in headlights. I had no idea what I was looking for and a very kind gentleman named Jay asked if he could help. I told him I was just looking and said no pressure but he would be happy to help me at least try a few pairs on so I could get a feel for them. I told him I didn't want to waste his time and he said that I wasn't. So he brought a few out and showed me how to test them using the in store demo rock. He talked about the fit in the midsole, heel and toe area, especially for those downhill parts of my hike. He talked and passed on knowledge for almost 2 hours. He was so kind and zero pressure to make a purchase but genuinely wanted to help me. I left the store knowing which boots will be the right ones for me when I am ready to buy. He even made sure I had the size, model # and color as well. Jay made this trip in to REI one I will remember and one that will make me want to return to make all of my purchases for gear as I need it. Thank you!!

Yelp
Went in to buy shoes for a stationary bike. Ended up with 5 people helping me due to various questions, was told of discounts for the shoes, was able to try things on, and even received a discount coupon. Ended up joining. Caden was GREAT, very sweet, and quite helpful. Will return again since there are a lot of activities we like to do outside. Overall, great experience! First time but not last!

Yelp
REI is great if your a member. It only takes a few purchases to make membership pay for itself. If you like any outdoor activities and you purchase good equipment for them, this place is worth it. We use this store for purchasing climbing equipment locally and when you purchase to climb you want name brand, new items. You can easily spend too much here because they have so many good items.

Yelp
It's finally here!! We are lucky here in Oklahoma to have so many resources that we can get out and experince things like our lakes, hiking and camping across the state just about year round. REI adds to the places here in the OKC metro that can help with the equipment you need to take advantage of this. Our most recent addition to the local equipment outfitters goes one step further though and offers rentals and classes to help you get out and enjoy our beautiful state! They also have a program called the REI Co-op that pays you back for shopping there and also gives you access to their Garage Sale that they host throughout the year and sell back items that were returned through their very gracious return policy. Also, REI staff are some of the most knowledgeable and friendly staff that I've ever come across. I've been to REI's in many different states but you can count on that the person you ask for help will do so in a knowledgeable and friendly way every time. I'm so excited that they're finally here in OKC!

Yelp
I had a great experience at the store. I was in a rush and trying to find specific shoes I couldn't see on the wall. This employee named Xander was in the middle of helping two or three other people, but he took the time to help me find similar shoes and talked with me about the ordering process online and assured me of the purchase. I am really picky about my shoes and I do not like spending money on things I'm not sure about, so I really appreciate his time and patience when he was obviously very busy with other customers. Very clean and organized store w friendly, helpful staff

Yelp
Came into the store today to look around. The lovely Garrett found me browsing. He was very knowledgeable and was willing to spend the extra time to explain all the details. He helped me get fitted for a hiking backpack, gave me amazing tent recommendations, and even more I learned a lot about sleeping systems. He also informed me the awesome benefits about becoming a member. I then went to checkout and met the fabulous Savannah. She was very sweet and friendly. She made sure I had all the details about the membership and all of my questions answered. Both Garrett and Savannah let me know about the amazing anniversary sale coming up. I can't wait to go home with all of my new knowledge and come back with my shopping list. Thank you both for your time and your positive energy!

Yelp
What a great surprise to find out that the new OKC REI store is now open. I've been following the store's social media for months, and have been awaiting the grand opening set for Nov 15th. I had no idea they were opening before that date. I'm so glad that I drove by the other day and saw patrons entering the store. I'm happy to report that the store exceeded all of my expectations. REI has really done a good job sizing up the OKC market. To my joy and amazement, there was a large bicycling department, trail running, hiking, camping and workout gear areas. I immediately spotted my favorite bicycle mechanic, Marty at the Bike Shop. Having Marty on their team is a huge plus! He told me that he will be hosting bike maintenance, tire changing and other classes in the near future. I've had the opportunity to attend some of his classes before and I can guarantee you that if you want to cycle, like to cycle, or are a seasoned cyclist, you need to sign up when the classes open up. They had a nice selection of winter cycling gear available with warm padded leggings, vests, and jackets. There is a large selection of socks for any type of enthusiast. Whether you are looking for smart wool or a great cotton blend, you will find it here. Staff was so helpful and departments were easy to navigate. I was delighted to see a large selection of Hoka trail running shoes and trekking poles. They have a nice selection of men's and women's athletic wear for running, yoga, hiking, lounging or whatever you like. The camping equipment included some super cool tents (think millenial camping), knives and a host of useful items. Be sure to check out the co-op program. It is a great way to save money and make the best use of your new obsession with REI. I can tell a lot of thought went into the merchandise selection for this store. I might even pick up a new hobby or two after seeing all of the fun items. Enjoy the store!

Yelp
REI is now in OKC! The grand opening was so fun. There was an insane crowd & the Sales associates were able to provide assistance. I tried on a couple is shoe sizes and had both sizes brought to me promptly each time. I'll definitely be coming back for some more gear.

Yelp
The products are great. Recently since the reopen the employees have been overheard bashing the police and the military. It's a great look for the store. This may be okay and allowed with the current management but as a customer I probably won't be back.

Yelp
The manager on duty on 29 Aug at 11:30 Is acting like the freaking Gestapo following you all over the store making sure you have your Covid PPE on.. as soon as you take it off or pull it down so that you can breath or let your glasses unfog they're all over you like stink on shit... Freaking rude as hell..

Yelp
The employees are overbearing and at one point we're making me nervous from the second I walked in I had 3 employees asking me things like whats my name why did I come into the store what I do for work ect. Then proceeded to hover around me as I shopped I picked up a hat and notice an employee literally staring me down and made me feel weird like they thought I was stealing something so I brushed it off and walked to another section found a belt I liked and walked around for a a bit and then someone walked up and said want me to put that behind the counter for you and I said I'm fine I'm actually heading to the check out right now and then some big manager walked up and said we have an employee claiming they saw you put a beanie in your pocket and I said no sir there is no beanie in my pocket and he said I'm sorry but you have to leave and took the belt that I was literally about to buy out of my hand and I just walked out. Cool stuff but really weird and judgey staff wouldn't recommend coming in here if you don't look like a preppy Edmond person or you'll get profiled and followed around and accused of shoplifting. Like I've never felt so disrespected in a store before in my life and if I do ever shop here again it will be online it's not worth it.

Yelp
There are some cool things at this store, but all of their clothing is designed for pre-pubescent high schoolers. I'm not a freak of nature by any means (6-4 and 210 lbs), but not a single pair of pants that would fit me. Won't be back.

Yelp
Good quality products and every time I go, I get good customer service. I once went to find some new running/hiking shoes and I had a tremendous amount of help. Very friendly and willing to give personable advice!

Yelp
I have a medical condition so I don't wear a mask. Employees wouldn't let me enter store so I decided to spend my money at a mom and pop shop instead. Won't be doing business with them again.
