I’ve been coming to REI for all my outdoor needs. Their staff is always super friendly! I noticed they have my favorite electrolyte packs Salt Stick! Give these a try

Google
Always a winner, REI in Troy has all the things you come to expect from our favorite store. The staff is always friendly, and during Christmas they have a wrapping station for charity. Also thought it was cool that the bathrooms have sanitary items for free!

I went to REI on Big Beaver Rd in Troy to pick up a new Tilley hat I purchased online. I love this store and am a member of the co-op. I like to buy comfortable clothing and high quality gear for outdoor activities. Associates are very professional, courteous and helpful. The store is well stocked and I got a really good deal for my hat as it was on sale. I highly recommend REI if one is looking for quality at a great price point. Many thanks to the good people of REI!

This is not an REI store that has great service. I waked into the shoe section that barely had 3 people and the person working in that section seems to be avoiding customers. I tried calling him multiple times but he walks in busy as if he is swamped with customers. I used to love REI for their service and collection.

I live REI. While their prices are high, they offer great products. Nothing is cheaply made and everything lasts. From Marmot to Thule to REI CoOp, it's all made to last and most of it is made Responsibly with recycled materials. Customer service is top notch and the staff truly cares about your safety and joy while exploring the great outdoors.

I have been to the store many times and each time the customer service gets better! I went in recently to buy hiking shoes and Oscar helped guide me to the pair that was right for me. He spent time explaining all the different shoes. He was so knowledgeable and patient. Even though he had many other customers, I still felt like I was getting the attention I needed. Great store!

I’ll never shop at any other outdoor store after my experience here. Staff is friendly and PRESENT you can actually find team members to talk to. They have everything you can think of for your adventures even some items you wouldn’t think you needed. Great sales and a cool program you can enroll in for the deals.

Google
I went in looking for a hiking sandal. After speaking to Oscar about my trip, he suggested that for the terrain I would be on that I should get more of a hiking shoe/boot. He was very patient and brought out several kinds of shoes/boots for me to try on. He assisted me with the perfect fit, and shoe and I left the store extremely happy. Oscar is the best, and I definitely will go back for any other outdoor needs:)

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this REI. When I first started getting into my outdoor adventures, I went here and was-at first-completely ignored. Then, I was treated like I was bothering the people. At the time, I was almost 400lbs, and I feel like that had a lot to do with how I was treated. So I decided to take my business elsewhere. I shopped at Moosejaw for several years. Eventually, I started coming to this REI more and more because of their selection. And as I lost more and more weight, they seemed to take me more seriously. Last week though, I went in there to get a couple of pair of socks and some sock liners. While there, I witnessed the guy in the shoe department giving a couple of ladies some very bad advice. When he stepped away for a minute, I quietly interjected and gave them some advice that was based on years of backpacking experience and thousands of miles hiked. When the team member came back, they asked me to explain what I said to him. When I tried to, he got upset and told me that I was wrong and continued to double down on the bad advice that he was giving the women. I wasn't about to get into a disagreement with this guy, so I just put my socks and liners back, and left the store. I'm glad that I'm not someone new to backpacking or hiking that is relying on getting good advice from this store, because I don't think I would be getting it. At the end of the day, I'll probably still shop at REI, but not at this location.

Yelp
I was going to stop in here, but the boy scouts had set right in front of the door, and I just didn't have the energy to walk by and awkwardly ignore them. It was just easier not to go in lol. I got in my car and went home.

Stacy K.

Yelp
On occasion we come here to shop. I like to sip water all day long. I take an insulated cup to work, I use one at home, I even like them on road trips in the car, so I was looking for another good cup to add to my mix. I heard Yeti was a great brand to keep the water cold for a very long time. I have been looking for a color I liked and found a nice red one here called Harvest Red. I do not think Yeti is discounted very often, so I probably just paid they typical price, but I liked their assortment. Their customer service was really good. Many people talked to me to make sure I found what I needed and they were all very friendly and personable. They do ask you to join their club. I do not buy enough for it to be worth my while but it seems like a decent deal if you do buy here often since it is one fairly small payment for life and allows you to accumulate points or get a discount. They have a small but nice shoe selection, and I like the clothing selection as well. If you are interested in a smaller, less overwhelming sporting goods shop, this is a nice one.

Yelp
I decided to stop in here to get my snowboard tuned. When I walked in and went back towards the ski and bike shop area, I was immediately welcomed and assisted with. J. Ross was the employee that helped me and he was amazing and so helpful. Everyone in the tune up shop was amazing though! I waited to write this review till I picked up my board and they did an amazing job. I definitely recommend going to them with anything you need. The store itself is clean and well kept.

Jenna C.

Yelp
Excellent excellent excellent customer service. Learned about what gear was best for me and how to use it. Plus rei treats its members so well.

Sandy J.

Yelp
I love this store! When it's busy and they are having a sale, it can be difficult to find someone to help you. However, the staff is always friendly and I can usually find what I need.

Yelp
I purchased a Cannondale bike in February from REI Troy, MI. and recently took it in for its 100 mile maintenance and a warranty repair, failed bearing in the pedals. The warranty repair was not completed and the bike tech suggested I upgrade the componentry at my expense. They refused to repair the failed pedal for no reason. The bike repair guy is rude and cocky. I will shop elsewhere in the future. Bad representation of REI and Cannondale.

Yelp
Went into the REI store in Troy (MI) and planned on buying a Stanley 40 oz. travel tumbler. I was told at the checkout counter that I had to be a REI member or I could not purchase a "STANLEY" tumbler. There was no signage that you had to be a member to purchase and this disclaimer was not stated on the REI website. I took my business to another local shopping establishment that accepted my payment without paying a $30 membership fee.

Yelp
The WORST customer service ever. After being charged ( duplicate) for a shirt i never ordered, I went in person to resolve the unauthorized charge after being alerted from my bank Scott the manager is a rude condescending jerk. I will never patronize this location again. So much for being " a member for 15 years" He tries to hand me a piece of paper that says the order was cancelled. I try to educate him that to process a refund on a debit card you need to run the card and print a refund. And fyi do Not tell an already upset member to " have a nice day"

Mary S.

Yelp
It's a cool place to shop but everything is overpriced. My mom and I came here to buy camping equipment gear. We went to check out the clothes about 99-159 dollars for yoga pants.... I like the variety of equipment for paddling boarding.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I feel kind of weird writing a review about REI, but the service was awesome here. We were greeted as soon as we entered the store & the guy (I didn't even catch his name!) was incredibly helpful. He went above and beyond to not only show me to the location of the products I was looking for but also proactively looked something up for me regarding the manufacturer. I am a co-op member so I try to shop REI when I can! 295/365

Yelp
Shopped here a couple of times for North Face, Patagonia, Marmot and Arcteryx winter jackets, mostly clearance or sale items ;-) Spent a 100 and earned a $20 bonus card, which we used to buy for the membership. Received yearly dividends by mail. I see different kinds of bikes, tents, hiking gadgets and gear, sun glasses, even canoes for the summer. Buy online. Return at the store hassle free. Easy check-out. Very Helpful staff.

Yelp
Recreational Equipment Inc.,, that's what those three letters stand for. If you like the outdoors, or just prefer to be outdoors. This place is your all out modern outdoorsman geek fest. It might not be as affordable as Slander Mountain or Crabellas, but this place is pretty good. We came in because we wanted to take a look around since our doggie was getting her pamper on next door. From camping to, skiing, to snowboarding, to rock climbing, etc. You'll literally find all the quality awesome equipments here. I happen to be into hiking, camping, kayaking and snowboarding. All those things I'm into,, this store has it covered. I even bought that modern camping spork that I saw on the backpackers magazine. I love this shop, and I know that this shop loves me back. As an outdoors enthusiast to another, I suggest you come pay this store a visit. Their associates are very well trained on their products. This is partly because the company does encourage them to live their products as well. I will be back for those Arbor Snowboards,, i think it's time for me to purchase a new snowboard.

Quinn O.

Yelp
Tried to drop off my skis and bindings for a mount, refused because they can't store them and/or they don't have mounting gear? and said they might have the mounting stuff next week. They offered a machine wax, I asked for the wax and to store them til they can be mounted, they said they couldn't. Lady had an attitude, won't be coming back

Noah B.

Yelp
I visited this located in late November and again in late December, two completely different experiences. I would rate the first visit 5 stars and the second 3 so I'll settle on an even 4. In November we visited to buy new snowboarding gear for this winter season, my partner and I both hadn't been in at least 6 years and didn't own any equipment anymore, and with covid we figured this was going to be our weekend thing to do while staying safe. We went in just trying things on and to gauge prices and make sure it was worth it to purchase instead of rent. The guy helping us was so awesome, helpful, got everything for us from the back and answered any questions we had. Once we figured out we would purchase everything but the board we went back in late December to buy everything, the place looked ransacked and the worker helping us was so unfriendly you could tell he didn't want to be there. We were unsure about what each boot did/the sizing and he could care less, didn't want to help us at all and kept leaving us to go talk to his friends in the back. Super disappointing experience, we didn't end up getting half the equipment we needed and instead purchased online, some from REI some from a different place. When checking out they also have you pack your own bags, a super weird experience and definitely not the experience I'm used to when spending $800+ at a location. Not sure if I'll be back in all honesty, if I need something ASAP then maybe, but I'll probably try to avoid this place and order online. The last guy we dealt with really put us off from this place. The equipment we did purchase from here is great though, and we're very happy with it.

Sean P.

Yelp
Usually only give negative reviews. I have been going there for years and have bought most of my snowboarding and mountain biking equipment from them. Never anything out of the ordinary. Bought new boots for my snowboard this Christmas from there. Wore them once and thought I would never again. The left boot was very uncomfortable. By the end of day the pain was unbearable. Call REI when I get back and am told by a young woman named Freeman to bring them in and she would help me out. Again, I only wrote negative reviews. Freeman at REI fixed everything. She took about an hour out of her day to figure out what was causing the pain and then was able to fix it. I don't know if I have had better customer service anywhere. She was the best and so incredibly helpful. She deserves a raise, a bonus and a paid vacation! Sean P

Yelp
I love this place. Put it is starting to look a lot like a Bike shop that has other stuff.

Daniel S.

Yelp
Called about a bike rack prior to arrival telling them I'd be there to pick it up in the morning. When I arrived at opening the next day they had packed it up and shipped it out prior to opening. Staff was still super nice.

Laura A.

Yelp
Always have great quality clothing and outdoor accessories. This place makes me want to go outside and stay there. I climb regularly and all their climbing clothes, accessories, shoes and more are incredible. Great variety

Yelp
These 5 stars are for Jeremy in the Boot department! Yes, I think we spent too much on these boots for my daughter's first Grand Canyon hike, but I did join the membership program, (10% back) and I do feel like I also paid for all of Jeremy's information, tips and experience! It was really important to me that the boots fit right and I never would have chosen the right boots or size on my own.

Christopher W.

Yelp
I am a recent co-op member at REI and I shop at all three stores located in Michigan. This particular REI was the first I had been in and where I purchased my co-op membership. Every time I have been in the store I have received nothing but the most professional and friendly service of any retail store I have been in. The team members are friendly without being pushy and stand just in the background waiting to be needed. I purchased my first pair of hiking boots from the store and despite all of the chaos that was present and the limited amount of space due to social distancing in the COVID-19 pandemic the staff help me select a perfect pair of boots for my trip to pictured rocks national Lakeshore. I cannot say enough about the staff and management of this location and it will continue to be my first REI stop.

Yelp
My wife and I needed to buy new bicycles. The bikes we were riding apparently didn't even classify as bikes. We purchased them from a couple of different stores who are known for low prices. I'll just say that when we bought them, we didn't know what we were doing. We went to REI because they have a reputation for knowing what they're doing when it comes to outdoors stuff. After a few minutes of browsing, we were approached by a young saleswoman (Sona) who really knew a ton about bikes. She helped us understand the various important things to look for when buy our first 'real' two-wheeled transportation. Donald helped us look at various bikes that fit our interests and price range. He helped us find the bikes with particular attributes that we thought would fit our riding styles. He also set me up with a test ride of a couple different bikes so that I could get a feel for comfort and speed. I landed on a fast and lightweight road bike due to the fact that we mainly ride on paved park trails throughout our area in SE Michigan. My wife chose a bike that was on the showroom floor, but someone had purchased it after she briefly sat on it. She fell in love with the comfort and wanted to purchase one of her own. Luckily they had a couple in stock and built a fresh one for her. It was ready to pick up the next day. All in all I'd say our experience was pretty spectacular. We were slightly intimidated by the selection of bikes as well as the prices on some of the models REI had on the showroom floor. After speaking with the REI associates in the bike area as well as back in the bike repair area, we were well versed in bike terminology. They all made us feel incredibly comfortable to ask questions...even if they were dumb. If you're serious about buying a bike, I wouldn't rule out REI. These folks are knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a wide range of bikes available. Thanks again for reading! ~ Brian S.

Yelp
, everything was very good as far as variety and choice the staff was very quick and efficient and knowing all there knowledge and being able to get you in the right environment that meets your needs outdoor needs indoor needs whatever it may be

Caitlyn S.

Yelp
The woman in charge of their curbside pick up has zero to no customer service skills. While checking to see if my order arrived at the store (which I have done many times and have had no problems with) she was not only hostile but belittling me over the phone. Truly appalled at how a great store can hire someone so careless and disrespectful. Being in retail myself it absolutely disgust me dealing with poor customer service, because frankly, it's not hard to be a good person in general and especially when you're getting paid for it.

Dan O.

Yelp
As someone who used to look forward to a trip just because there would be a REI nearby to check out, it's great to have a REI located a few miles away. I'm a member of the co-op, so it's great to check out the clearance racks to spend my dividends on. Highly enjoyable, can't wait for the next sale!

Bruce D.

Yelp
We went there to get new backpacks. They were so helpful making sure they fit and had us try a few to make sure we got the backpack that would be best for the type of hiking we would be doing. They were very nice and extremely helpful.

Maggie H.

Yelp
My Hubby and I are "outdoorsy" people; we ski, trail ride, hike, he camps (ugh! I like hotels), and I used to work a rockwall-so REI is right up our ally. In addition, last year I started adventure racing, so I was in need of some new gear. If you are already familair with REI this may not be too helpful, but if you are not-read on. REI is one of few places in the area that carries all of our outdoor staples. They have a very good selection on hiking/rafting shoes (e.g. keen, merrell, & fivefingers), which can be very hard to find. If you do not own a pair of Keen Newports, I highly recommend them; I use them for rafting, canoeing, and other activities where I need a ventilated waterproof shoe. Second, they carry North Face, Columbia, Under Armour, Marmot, Patagonia, and the REI brand of clothing is quality. Third, they have a great assortment of skiing, hiking, biking, and other outdoor gear. They really do have a wide assortment. I have also taken advantage of REIs classes in the past, which can be really helpful if you are trying to get started in a new outdoor activity. Finally, you can join the REI co-op and get 10% back yearly on your purchases. On the negative side, their instock levels leave me wanting sometimes. For example, last November I went in to get spikes for my December adventure race and they were all sold out. Also, their products are expensive, but the lines they carry are more expensive to begin with and I don't believe their pricing is that far off base from others.

Jake S.

Yelp
REI gets the 4/5 for me. They have a limited selection of everything and always carry some stuff that's really high end. It's one of the few department stores around that I enjoy browsing to learn about new things I normally wouldn't think about. I do get 10% back a year as a REI "member" which is cool. Nothing they have here is really "overpriced"... but I'm sure that you can fine slightly better deals online. This place is a goto for general sports stuff. clientele and staff can be pretty "crunchy" which doesn't bother me but that's the deal with REI. I think the best thing about this place is 95% of what they sell is quality products. Some of it is more "affordable quality product" or "medium duty" quality products... but you won't find "crap" that you can get at general sporting goods stores. By no means does this replace my local bike shop, but honestly, for some sporting good consumables I purchase, REI almost certainly has better inventory on hand than the local shops which can really be hit or miss...

Melanie H.

Yelp
Oh this hurts to give REI a poor rating but the Troy store just doesn't measure up to other stores, Michigan or otherwise. Sure the product is good as is the variety but the service is so disappointing. You either have friendly customer service folks that don't know much about their products or you have apathetic and moody folks that seem to lack the typical REI passion. Its a bummer. I always leave here feeling like I just walked out of any other retail experience. But that's not how it supposed to be when you shop at REI. Go to the Northville store or the Ann Arbor store. You'll see what I mean.

Brian B.

Yelp
Nice store with good service. Being able to get custom fit for a pack and try different brands is a huge plus. If your serious about the outdoors REI is a good place to start....I

Preston S.

Yelp
Horrible. Had us waiting in the hot sun for over 20 minutes to try to get into the store and the line barely moved in that time. Gave up and went home. Called to find out what was going on and the clerk was really rude.

Patsy R.

Yelp
Wow what variety of sporting equipment. But without Justin we would have going in circles. He knows his stuff. We still did some serious damage here today at REI..WEEEEE

Shauna N.

Yelp
First thing: They DO have the garage sale at this REI location. I saw a kayak for $150 that someone had returned after 4 years. You couldn't get a better deal on Craigslist--and that's awesome customer service (FOUR YEARS!)! I've had pretty great experiences here. The informed, non-biased staff has helped me save money on purchase decisions (offering alternatives without sacrificing my quality goals). I'm not the kind of shopper who wants a lot of attention, but it was definitely offered and available whenever I was ready. I'm new to road biking and have been able to pick up a lot of my supplies here for cheaper (and with better selection) than at the bike stores. Haven't used them for service, but I'm excited to take one of the "DIY bike maintenance classes. That said, I haven't been to other REI locations yet. So I can't compare those. I'm a member!

JT G.

Yelp
The troy REI is one of if not the worst REI I've been in ever. The stock is poor; with most items available "online". If you live in metro Detroit it's worth the drive to head out to the Northville store WAY BETTER selection and extremely friendly staff. The only saving grace of REI Troy is the staff, most of the staff I've done business with are straight forward and honest.

Sharina J.

Yelp
I love being an REI member and getting my 10% back each year. Then again I realize how much I spend in this ridiculously expensive store and I get worried! Although I have the finest tuned handcycle in the metro area thanks to the REI service team. Look amazing in my workout clothes I get there and take a refreshing drink from my camelback while riding. Yes I could keep going on and on about all of the products I've purchased from REI but why? I'll just tell you that I love this store, even though they are pricey, the service and products are worth it.

Kevin M.

Yelp
I realize that most of you reading this probably know what REI is about, but I figured I would make clear that this is not a traditional sporting goods store. They specialize more in outdoors stuff like kayaking, hiking, camping, cycling, and rock climbing. They DO carry a fair amount of multisport accessories for biking, running, and swimming too. But if you're looking for more traditional team sport items, you will probably not find them here (and definitely not at this location). I've had pretty positive experiences here. My only real issue with this place thus far has been that because this location is one of the smallest of their 100+ stores, they don't have many of things in stock that they do on the website. You can get stuff shipped to the store of course, but that's not quite as convenient or doesn't allow me to browse as much as I'd like. I see a few reviews complaining about their customer service, but everyone I have dealt with has been friendly and helpful. The nice thing REI as compared to many chain stores is most of these guys and gals are active in the outdoor activities they are repping, often-times have personal experience with the items, or at least have pretty solid product knowledge... far more than anything you're going to see at a typical diverse sporting good stores. And usually in those cases, I expect to pay a little more, but that's not the case here. In fact, they've actually gotten in trouble for selling things too cheaply (see my next comment). It's worth mentioning that this is exactly what happen with Cannondale (they were undercutting all the other dealers), and that no Michigan REI is allowed to sell Cannondale bikes. Kind of a bummer and a little annoying since this is one the bikes I was leaning towards when I first started coming here a few years ago. It's also worth mentioning that because of the size of this store, they don't have a ton of bikes compared to some bike shops and even compared to their own locations (decent inventory, just not a massive selection). The prices of the stuff on the floor probably ranges from $400ish to infinity, and that if you're looking for something less than that, Dicks or Dunhams are probably better option for you. I have also found there bike techs to be really knowledgeable and their accessory prices to be very reasonable. I had them throw probably 5-7 items on my bike the last time - a few of the items surely must have take 15-20 to install- and was there and there was no labor charge.Just the off the shelf price of the item was on the bill. I'm not sure if this was normal, or they did it because I was due a free tuneup for buying a bike there and they threw it in. But there have been multiple occasions where I have brought in bikes I didn't even buy there and they made small adjustments for free (or close to it). And supposedly, you can return at product at ANYTIME. So far, I've never had to test this on this point.

Joe B.

Yelp
I'd lean towards 2 stars but REI has pretty good merch. This store does seem to have a more lax staff that doesn't approach you as readily as at other locations which you may or may not like. I was there yesterday looking at knives and couldn't find a salesperson anywhere nearby. Their stock was limited and not very inclusive in regards to styles or manufacturers. Also, their prices are steep no matter which REI you go to, but as I said, I know their quality standards are high. That said, I feel like if you're an entry level outdoorsman (or woman) you may want to fore-go REI until you get a little more experienced and decide to drop some money here. I could spend some serious money here in virtually every department, on new equipment but I think I'd try the Northville store first rather than this one.

K M.

Yelp
My mom took me to this store when I was home for Christmas, and Patrick was so helpful in finding a sale coat and getting it on its way to me in Boston. Thanks to him for spending about 20-30 minutes helping us and for being super nice and funny. PS, other reviewer, they may be ex-landfills and Mt. Trashmores with icy snow, but have you seen Southeastern lower Michigan (or hell, most of the rest of the Midwest)? It's FLAT. Not just flat. Super flat. Flatter than the flattest flat. It's all we have. Your mockery is just mean (and none of the hills in two hours radius are considered resorts, thanks).

Terry G.

Yelp
Bad experience here today. I have been kicking around buying a Garmin Fenix 3 since January and finally pulled the trigger today. I got home and opened the box and it had 2 chargers in it and a strap with no heart rate sensor. I called the store and explained the situation to a manager named Kelley. Only option is to drive 50 minutes to pick up another unit. I said that wont work I will not be out that way for a few weeks. I said to make this right you send someone to my office and I will give them the extra charger and they can give me the missing heart rate sensor. I will see what will happen.

Rachel B.

Yelp
This store was, as expected, an absolute nuthouse the day after Christmas. Nevertheless, I got an incredibly awesome new winter coat (yep; I've decided that this winter, I am "allowed" to buy myself a new, heavy, GOOD coat because for chrissakes, I live in the Midwest now). No more hand-me-down Jordache coat from the 1970s (my mom's) which resembles a sleeping bag. And an ugly, not really that warm sleeping bag at that. I got a wonderful, 3-in-1 Columbia coat with a shell and liner that will definitely help me brave the Ohio winters from now on. I can also see wearing the inner liner on cool fall days, and the shell by itself (which is wind- and water-resistant) for cold-weather running. Basically, it is awesome. And it was on sale, too! The staff here are helpful and were found throughout the store should their assistance be desired and/or required. I also discovered, upon checking out, that if you become a member, you get a share of their dividends each year because they are a co-op. That didn't make me want to cough up the $$ for the yearly membership, but it was still cool.

Maureen M.

Yelp
REI is probably my go-to sporting goods store. I like the lay out. The staff is always very nice and helpful. They have a decent selection of running and bike gear. I'm not a sporty person. I run. I go to the gym. I ride my bike. That's about it. This is the 1st place that I stop for running gear. REI carries a lot of North Face and their own version of that brand. They also carry some Lucy apparel, which is great. Prices can be a little higher, but they have good sales and I love the rewards program. I haven't taken advantage of their other services like rental equipment or the garage sale. They have events all the time. I love that they had a zombie apocalypse survival class at several locations last fall and all spaces were filled. Gotta love it.

N'Diva A.

Yelp
I was about a half hour early for the Cross Country Ski class so I browsed the store. I was then told that the instructor was running late and that an announcement would be made upon his arrival. No announcement was made. After I could browse no more, I decided to wait in the class area, only to discover that the class (very full and in a cramped space) was well underway. Sooooo, Yes, I will find another resource to learn Cross Country Skiing...No, I don't want to join their co-op....and Yes, I will buy my gear elsewhere.

Yelp
Always knowledgeable outdoors enthusiasts to help you find what you are looking for! I love REI!

Yelp
I really want to love this place but the prices are steep! They have just about everything for outdoors here. The prices though. You can get camping, hiking, climbing, skiing, biking walking gear here but did I say the prices are not cheap!? They have helpful people too. And they are not pushy. I rate this store a 3.5 for the easy to navigate, helpful staff, and a plethora of great gear!

Yelp
I went in to pick up some bicycle parts. I am retired and ride a lot! I picked out some items that were labeled on sale. One of the resident smart ass sales guy jerked the undated sign down, relating sale is over. Mr. Skinny Salesguy then told me, if I bought three inner tubes,(the item in question) he could take 10 % off the tubes which were labeled 25% off.To get this great deal I had to purchase an REI discount! The store was willing to lose all my repeat business over $2.00 and change. The irony is this arrogant kid will probably be dead from a meth overdose in six months, the store will end up closing and people will scratch their heads as to why! Patronize local merchants, they need the business

Yelp
I had to return an online order and the process was handled quickly and easily by a competent staff member (this impresses me because half the time employees are clueless about how to return online orders).

Yelp
Love REI! We outfitted a lot of our last trip here, including boots and go pro accessories, and found a great selection of hiking and camping related equipment compared to north face. Service was friendly. We did get roped into signing up for their membership, and so far it sounds like a good deal! Big shared parking lot with Nordstrom rack etc. Closes at 9 on weekdays.

Yelp
Think it is all about expectations: certainly not the selection of the on line catalog, but plenty of helpful staff. My son tried on three pairs of boots before making a decision; unless you are very familiar with a brand, you just can't do this without a store. Did I mention that the staff was helpful, in a non commission kind of way? While maybe not the cheapest, but including the dividend, certainly a good value.

Yelp
We like stopping here from time to time to browse. It's not always easy to find a salesperson right away, but we've had decent luck when we do finally find someone to help us when we need something. The staff is usually pretty well-informed about their products and will find someone who does know the answer to a question when they don't know it themselves.

Yelp
Customer service here is outstanding! Laura you saved me this Christmas, thank you so much! I was trying find my girlfriends size in Patagonia underwear and I was doing so on the fly, which meant that I wasn't able to just check her size at home. My girlfriend and I are REI members so Laura was able to look up my girlfriends size from previous purchases. Thanks again! My REI experiences here are always wonderful. REI Troy is great!
