Reid Park Zoo is a wonderful gem of a zoo. The variety of animals, the layout of the park, and the staff all make this a wonderful place to visit. There are the staple animals like lions, zebras, and hippos, as well as capybaras, gibbons, and snakes. The giraffes get really close to visitors, which makes for a fun selfie opportunity. There are lots of shady areas and places to sit that help make your visit enjoyable and refreshing. The food stands are spread apart and offer a nice selection of goodies to keep your energy up. The gift shop is clean, organized, and the staff is pleasant. Reid Park Zoo makes for an excellent trip. There are so many amazing animals to watch, tons of learning opportunities, and a magnificent way to spend some family fun time.

Google
Reid Park Zoo may be on the smaller side, but it’s truly an amazing place to visit! It took us about two hours to walk through the whole zoo, including a 30-minute stop at the playground — which is fantastic. The playground has so many different features to explore and is perfect for letting kids burn off energy. The animal exhibits were wonderful as well. I noticed lots of enrichment opportunities in the enclosures, and all of the animals looked healthy, relaxed, and well cared for. I didn’t see any pacing or signs of stress, which really stood out in a positive way. The admission price is very reasonable, too. I stopped here during a road trip so my kids could stretch their legs, and it ended up being such a great experience. Reid Park Zoo is definitely going to be a regular stop on our future trips! Highly recommend!

Google
Great park to enjoy a day with kids. Cost effective, walk friendly with shade. Well maintained Zoo with limited number of animals and feeding giraffes was one of the moments where kids enjoyed a lot. Birds camp is really special and indoor museum is good to enjoy with kids.

Google
I was looking for something to do while in Tucson for a shopping day & knew the Zoo was the place to go! I love the easy going atmosphere! All of the animals seem so happy & well cared for in their respective enclosures. Zoo staff was available in various locations to answer questions & provide more details than the description placards for each exhibit. While the Zoo isn't as large as those in cities the same size, it's always a great, relaxing time & definitely worth the price of admission!

Google
Got in free with a culture pass from the library. Its small and only took a little less than 2 hrs to go around 1.5 times. Definitely my favorite place in Tucson metro. Very bird heavy but good selection of non bird animals as well.

Google
I went to Reid Park Zoo with my mom, niece, and nephew, and we all had such a great time! The zoo was clean, well-kept, and the animals were easy to see. My niece and nephew especially loved watching the bears and peacocks. It’s a really nice place for families, and I’d definitely go again!

Google
This little zoo was big on heart! We loved how close you get to the animals and their beautiful enclosures. We are members of the Pheonix Zoo and got 50% off too. We spent a day here enjoying the place. Plus they have 6 elephants and an adorable baby!!

Google
this zoo was so amazing! very cleanly and the animals look so happy and at peace which you don’t always see at zoos in arizona. we loved the elephants, rhino, anteater, and giraffes especially. i will definitely be back the next time i'm in tucson!

Yelp
When you can, definitely check out the Zoo lights, we got to check it out during the 1st week of December and it's worth it. The place is family friendly with tons of lights for everyone to enjoy. Get there early because parking can be tricky. I suggest wearing your Christmas outfit because it would be great against the lights when taking photos. It's night time so most of the animals are asleep, don't expect to see much of them out. We did manage to see flamingoes and a giraffe.

Yelp
The Tucson Zoo is always such a great experience, and the pricing is incredibly reasonable--only $12 per adult, which feels like a steal for what you get. The grounds are very clean and well maintained, and while the zoo is on the smaller side, it makes for a really enjoyable walk without feeling overwhelming. There's a nice variety of animals, from big cats to elephants, giraffes, and more. One of my favorite parts is the detailed information at each exhibit, including the meter showing where each species falls on the extinction scale--super informative and eye-opening. I come every year when I visit Tucson, and it's consistently an amazing experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I were so impressed with this zoo! We took a day trip to Tucson to visit friends, and had some time to kill. This was a pleasant surprise to find nearby. There was some construction around the park and because they are adding an additional wing! There is PLEEENTY of parking so definitely be ready to walk depending on what time you arrive. We got in when they opened so there wasn't too many people. For us, and family of 3 - the cost of admission was literally HALF the cost of the Phoenix Zoo. That was great. All the animals were out! I think we were just happy that we didn't have any issues seeing the animals my toddler liked. It was an easy walk - just remember to bring sunscreen and a water bottle for the refill stations. Also - bathrooms were clean so don't worry about icky ness. We spent our last 30 mins at the Playground - which my son LOVED.

Yelp
We are so lucky to have a first class zoo like this in Tucson. It is really beautiful and all the recent renovations are really paying off. Arrived at 8 am and that is really a perfect time to arrive. All the animals were up, out, and active. Several births in the last couple of months which is great to experience. It's compact and easily accessible for families, individuals, artists, photographers. They were all well represented. The zoo is still working on the new Asian project. Komodo Dragons in Tucson coming soon. There is a small "train", and a traditional carousel. Large grassy areas, picnic areas, a small gift shop and a restaurant. And don't miss the lovely restrooms! Grab your camera, water bottle, sketchbook, picnic supplies and enjoy the zoo!

Yelp
I have been going to the Reid park zoo since I was a kid and now I get to take my own kid and we absolutely love it. They really do a great job with making sure the zoo is looking good. They are constantly doing improvements and adding new additions to the zoo. We love the new play area for the kids. Also love how they built a nice cat tower for Bella the jaguar to explore and watch us from up high. They really care about these animals and we can see it. We have so much fun every time we go.

Yelp
We had an absolute blast at the Reid Park Zoo! Recently came here for the first time and was honestly blown away. The zoo is awesome and we already can't wait to go back again! Once you're inside, there is so much to do and see. The zoo itself is a really great size. The walking paths give you great views of all the animals. The exhibits are really nice, well kept, and pretty spacious. We really enjoyed all the different animals that are here. Most of them were very active when we were there, which made the experience even better! There are multiple walk-in exhibits, a huge playground area for kids, zoo keeper interactive experiences, and more. Keep an eye out for a peacock, or a bunch, roaming around too! There is a gift shop, restaurant, and plenty of snack stands throughout the zoo as well. The whole zoo is easily accessible and very clean as well. We can't wait to come back and spend another great day at Reid Park Zoo!

Yelp
We had an amazing time at the Reid Zoo. I highly recommend. The kids and I got to see all the animals up close. The only animal we couldn't find was the Capybara. Every animal we saw and many we saw time and time again. They have a young giraffe and baby elephant. Both are adorable. We did a behind the scenes tour. The ladies who gave us the tour were so amazing, very informative and the absolute best. The kids had to chance to learn about the tortoise, feed and give shell rubs. Well worth the money for the kids experiencing this moment. They love animals and were very respectful.

Yelp
We come here often . It's a perfect way to spend an afternoon in town . Very affordable. This zoo offers plenty of events all year long !
google avatar

Jasmine G.

Yelp
Smaller zoo but it's very nice for Tucson! They are currently renovating but it's amazing for the price and size as it is!
google avatar

Amy Jo R.

Yelp
This is one of the best zoos I have ever been to. They have an amazing elephant exhibit (my favorite animal). The African elephants are so active and there is a baby!!! This is a must! The animals are active. The staff were so friendly and professional!
google avatar

Kendra C.

Yelp
Until July the zoo is having $3 admission from 8a-2p. I visited today and arrived around 8:15. It was a fast experience with no long lines or big crowds. The animals were also active until about 9:30ish then it started to become HOT. Unfortunately one of the bear areas was closed off so I missed that experience but that gives me another reason to enjoy this deal again.
google avatar

Chelsea J.

Yelp
I hadn't been to this zoo in probably 8 years and I was blown away at the changes and how awesome they've made it. We got there when they opened so it wasn't crowded or too hot. It took about 2 hours to walk through and we spent about 30 minutes at the playground. The playground was so cool! The Halloween decorations were a real treat. Super fun family activity for all ages and very reasonably priced.

Yelp
Great Zoo friendly staff and wonderful exhibits. The mountain views surrounding this place made the drive quite enjoyable. There is a park with s lake across the parking lot so it's makes for a great place to go after the Zoo. The Zoo itself had a few paths the exhibits are wonderful animals well taken care of. I enjoyed my time here. Lots of wonderful photo opportunities. The icky down side is I felt bad that some animals were solo especially herd animals. The bear seemed to have a very small space, giving him anxiety. The elephants were so far away it was hard to see them. The giraffes were amazing. Did I miss the petting Zoo or a giraffe feeding station? I know some zoo's have those.

Yelp
Now that I'm a parent, I have a hunch I'll be going to the zoo more often. My prior visit with kiddos was with my niece and nephew and pandemic rules were still in place. Fast forward to 2024 and the zoo is still tiny but mighty. Buying tickets online is super easy. Entry for Toddlers under 23 months is free. The zoo has just the right amount of attractions. I personally only like an hour because it can get crowded. Go early and you'll see plenty of animals. We got to see the flamingos, jaguar, elephants, we fed the giraffes, saw the zebra, wild dogs, rhino, moneys and lemurs. The variety of animals and engaging exhibits make it an easy place to explore. The staff's dedication to animal welfare and the overall cleanliness of the zoo contribute to a well run zoo.
google avatar

Denise K.

Yelp
This zoo is isn't too large, about an hour to 'slowly' walk through and see everything. We love this zoo and come once every 2 weeks if not more. Crowds & animals are unpredictable.... We can go the same time/day one week and be overwhelmed with people and sleeping animals, go the same time/day of the week the following week and be the only ones in there with active animals. Just go and explore! They opened a new kids play area. Very nice. Everything is always clean. The cafeteria is awesome. We love eating there & the food is pretty darn good. Staff are always nice and friendly. If visiting Tucson, go support our zoo.
google avatar

Mandi G.

Yelp
Love our local zoo! It's the perfect size...plenty to do but not so overwhelming that you can't see it all. They are always adding and changing the exhibits so it's even fun for those of us who visit regularly. Extra fun for kids include the carousel ($4), train ($4, I think, usually in front of the zoo, recently it was inside), and the new big playground - "treehouse", rope climbing stuff, bridge, ice house....lots of fun! The cafe has good food options at reasonable prices.
google avatar

Amanda Y.

Yelp
We don't usually frequent zoos on our travels, but decided to check out the Reid Park Zoo for our toddler while in Tucson. We were overall really impressed with the venue, as most of the animals looked happy enough and the children's play area was lovely. What was concerning however was the Jaguar and the amount of stress he or she was obviously in. The pacing is a tell tale sign of anxiety and distress, and it has even started eating away it's own fur to self soothe from the stress it is clearly in, in this environment. I implore someone to do something to help this beautiful creature soon.
google avatar

Steve V.

Yelp
Although its not a large zoo, its very well laid out, a good variety of animals that I haven't seen in much larger zoos in the country. Example? Anteater. Yep, anteaters. Try not to be discouraged if you don't see all of the animals every time you go. Sometimes they are sleeping, other times it might be too hot. There are friendly, helpful, and informative employees and volunteers to help along the way. If nothing else, it provides an opportunity to walk around in a lush environment in the middle of the desert. Very reasonably priced for the entire family.
google avatar

Audrey G.

Yelp
It was small but also its very good for small kids. Bigger zoo can be taxing but Reid zoo is a perfect size
google avatar

Kyndra B.

Yelp
Love the zoo! My kids and I enjoy spending our days wondering the zoo grounds watching and learning about the animals. Our favorite animals to watch out the meerkats! They are always out and about or digging in their holes. We spend a significant about of our time exploring but even more so since they have added in the world of play!
google avatar

Drake B.

Yelp
Reid Park Zoo has been a staple for our family outings. Having two toddlers makes day adventures somewhat difficult to manage but we always have a great time at the zoo. Both kids are always so impressed with the variety of animals. They have a ton of special events and I'm seriously considering just becoming a member of the zoo for these opportunities. Every visit I'm impressed with the education and pure enjoyment the staff has. The variety of animals and exhibits is impressive, offering a learning opportunity for visitors of all ages. The staff's dedication to animal care is evident, and their passion shines through in every interaction. We loved learning about the screaming hairy armadillo. The layout is well-designed, and the lush surroundings create a serene environment. There are food options in the park and a gift shop. We have gone so many times but my sons favorite was when they had dinosaurs throughout the zoo.
google avatar

Robyn P.

Yelp
We loved this zoo! It's on the smaller side but has so much to offer. Parking is free, and adult admission is only $10.50, a real bargain. The zoo was founded in 1967 and is on 24 acres. The animal exhibits are very nice, and the zoo looked very clean. It is not a challenge to walk, unlike some zoos on hills. There is a very nice playground for younger kids that seemed very popular. There is a cafe and a merry-go-round ( wasn't operational the day we went). Bathrooms were very clean. We attended during the Christmas holidays, and the zoo was decorated in a very festive way. We would definitely return if in the Tucson area. This is a great value for a lot of family fun .
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
My sister and nephew came into town and I took them here. It's a smaller zoo. Admission is affordable and my nephew (10) really enjoyed all the animals.
google avatar

Yelp
Reid Park Zoo is unlike any other zoo I've ever been to. It's tucked away inside a park that also offers a dog park, rose garden, baseball fields and so much more, so if you're visiting from out of town, just watch for signs for the zoo, I promise your GPS has lead you to the right place. The zoo itself is decently sized, and after spending a solid 2 hours walking around, we didn't even finish seeing all of the exhibits due to dealing with two sleepy tots. They're expanding and adding more animals this summer, so I definitely will be visiting again in the fall when we fly down to see Grandma. This zoo is absolutely adorable and so reasonably priced! Adults are just $10.50/person and children under 2 are FREE. The carousel is also only $3 per seated rider, so adults who are standing with their littles are free - this is UNHEARD of in the Chicago area, so I was pleasantly surprised!! I highly recommend getting here early so you can snag some shaded parking, otherwise you're going to bake from the AZ desert sun once you return to your car. We stopped at the little cafe for lunch, and I ordered their giant Greek salad for myself, chicken tenders and fries for my sig other, and macaroni and cheese for my daughter, along with a drink and a White Claw, and the total cost was about $40. A-MAZING. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for something to do that won't break the bank. Super fun.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
Reid Park Zoo is always a fun place to walk around and see all the amazing animals and get a good laugh in from some of them as well. The biggest surprise to me was how good their Burgers and Pretzels are at the Flamingo Grill. The Bacon Bourbon Burger is full of flavor and was perfectly prepared. The pretzels are perfect for grabbing to snack on while walking around the Zoo.
google avatar

Emy H.

Yelp
What a fun experience! We came here in the late afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. The zoo is small but there's lots to see. I honestly can say we enjoyed this zoo more than the LA Zoo. You get a much better look at the animals, it's a more real experience for you. The giraffe is just gorgeous! I also loved the cute train and carousel ride they had. We plan to buy memberships and make this a monthly visit!
google avatar

Marcus V.

Yelp
Really small exhibits. The whole place will take a half hour to walk through. The food was ok, we got their chicken strips basket with fries, a pepperoni flat bread, and a hot dog. All the animals were either missing or sleeping and unable to see. I wouldn't go again, if you have kids this is gonna be a good place to keep them busy. Other than that, save your $15 and or head to the phx zoo for a much better experience with happier animals
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised as I was not sure what to expect, but Reid Park rivals much bigger Cities Zoos. There are Giraffes, Elephants, Rhinos, Brown Bears and Peacocks everywhere. The large animals was unexpected as some bigger Zoos do not have this variety. The design of the enclosures, walking areas allows for maximum shade for animals & visitors. I felt pretty cool (temp-wise) our whole visit, plenty of benches and restrooms to take a break if needed. The Staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable, enjoyed our interactions with all of them. Free Parking, reasonable entrance fees, Senior discounts and Military (Membership only) not on entrance fee. The value exceeded the price of admission. We were so impressed we put today's entrance fee towards a membership, and we live in Virginia (visit Tucson a couple times a year). Definitely will be back to enjoy such a great Zoo.
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
So grateful we have this perfect little zoo in town. It's not too big, not too small--it's just right. Just enough animals and exhibits to keep you entertained for a couple of hours; it won't overwhelm you or wear you out. Recently visited with my toddler daughter and it was magical to see her get so excited at all the different animals. Overall, the zoo is clean, with adequate bathrooms throughout. There are different talks and activities and the staff clearly love their jobs and sharing information about the animals with visitors. They have a carousel, a gift shop, and a cafe, and they host several great events throughout the year. I've attended things like Fit Fest, Brew at the Zoo, Boo at the Zoo, and Zoo Lights. I know we will be back soon!
google avatar

Sheri F.

Yelp
I got the very fortunate opportunity to do a behind-the-scenes tour at the zoo and it absolutely does not disappoint. I got to do this with my college-aged daughter and we had such a great day. We got to pet Ebonga the 50+ year old rhino, a tortoise and feed the giraffes. We learned so much and our guide was so sweet. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves zoos and animals, but are not fond of large crowds! It is hard to find this option on their website and I think it would be really beneficial if they made this a little more prominent. Otherwise, it remains a hidden gem for those that want to go in search of it. The process of reserving was pretty easy, although after I sent in my request, I did have to call them to see if they received it. It somehow got stuck in their system, so it was a good thing I called. But once that was out of the way, it was super easy and their follow up communications were great. We even had to change the date a couple of times and they were so nice to work with. Highly recommend!

Taric W.

Yelp
It's such a tiny zoo, but it has what I suppose are the essentials for a nice sightseeing trip. What I loved: They're really playing the hits when it comes to making sure they cover the handful of animals people expect to see--zebras, rhinos, giraffes, and most importantly elephants. Watching elephants appear to line up as a presentation is about to begin is just adorable. What I liked: They have dippin dots. Like, the real deal someone has to scoop from a bucket, not that vending machine crap. Do you know how hard that is to find nowadays? Admittedly, I am trying my best not to gripe about how briefly one can stroll through the premises. Walking slowly, seeing every exhibit, and even stopping for a snack won't take much longer than an hour. It's not something you can plan your afternoon around. It's a supporting act rather than a headliner, really. Nevertheless, I'll appreciate that locals can see wildlife from across the world without having to travel out of town.
google avatar

Bijana K.

Yelp
I'm giving this zoo 5 stars, but keep your pants on and your expectations reasonable. The zoo is relatively small, but well appointed and they are always doing something different. I've been during an insect exhibit and during Christmas lights. My favorite part of the zoo is the two aviaries. You can see lots of birds up close doing bird things, especially if you're able to sit quietly on one of the benches. I was so excited to come back after the sloth arrived and though they are often sleeping, there is a camera and we were able to get a good look - so cute! The new kids area also looks pretty amazing. Pricing is reasonable, so we purchased a membership so we can keep coming back. And I've heard that the green chili burger is pretty awesome!
google avatar

Trevor C.

Yelp
Definitely need to check out the new Sloth habitat. I absolutely love bringing our Godchildren here we always have a wonderful time! Lots to see with a huge variety of different species.
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
Great zoo and small enough that you can see everything in a reasonable amount of time. Don't worry though, they're expanding! They're building a huge playground area for the kids and have a new wing of animal exhibits coming soon. The zoo looked clean and well organized. The tiny train is included in your zoo ticket and your little ones will LOVE it! Get there right when they open if you want a parking spot. It fills up ridiculously fast.
google avatar

sandy b.

Yelp
It's a small zoo so doable in a couple of hours. Two of the staff shared info on the white faced bears and that was an added bonus. The price is very reasonable and so I bought prickly pear popcorn to go.
google avatar

Chrystal H.

Yelp
This is a great atmosphere for the family. Lots of animals to see. Fun play area for kids. The grill has great food. Highly recommend spending the day at the zoo and then going to the park to see the ducks at the pond.
google avatar

Jeff J.

Yelp
What an outstanding Zoo and park. I've never been to a small zoo before, I was amazed by the quality design of having enclosures so close to one another. It works well with the plant selection.
google avatar

Karlee A.

Yelp
A great experience! They're an AZA accredited zoo which is super important to make sure the animals are taken care of. Plenty of refreshments and shade when you're walking through and I got to feed the giraffes!
google avatar

Kelsey F.

Yelp
Every time we go to Reid Park zoo it's better than the last. All the animals were out and about this time, and it was not too hot. They had signs everywhere. She knew exactly where everything was, and each sign had an actual picture of the animal so you could see which direction to take, we absolutely love the zoo and we will be back.
google avatar

Ronald M.

Yelp
Beautiful zoo with animal habitats that rival some of the much larger acclaimed zoological gardens across America. And at only 24 acres, what they lack in quantity is well compensated by quality of exhibition. Especially stunning is the African Elephant enclosure; listed at 3 acres, somehow it looks even more spacious and well stands up in comparison to some other major zoo pachyderm enclosures; like San Diego, Los Angeles, St. Louis, etc. all of which I've also visited. And Tucson possibly surpasses them visually. I was impressed with this zoo, and it falls just short of a 5 star rating. More like 4 1/2. Concessions are a bit lacking though, probably due to COVID-19 closures. Well worth a visit for the entire family.
google avatar

Ryan H.

Yelp
This zoo cost $10.50 and it's probably the best $10.50 you could spend for a couple hours of fun. The zoo is small but if you take your time and actually enjoy it it is a fun time. They have a lot of birds, a cool giraffe that gets pretty close, an amazing bear enclosure, a big elephant enclosure and a lot more. If you are in Tucson and want to kill 2 hours with something fun this is the place to go

Lorraine R.

Yelp
We took my 91 year old father to this zoo and he loved it. He wanted to make sure everyone knows how nice this zoo is. The animals are well cared for, the zoo wasn't crowded. Everything was neat and clean. He was in a wheel chair for the day and we had no trouble navigating to see everything. The only suggestion I would have is to bring your own pic nick or eat before you visit. The restaurant was quite pricey.
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
This zoo seems to be well maintained and nearly all of the animals seem to be i good spirits. I feel the animals at some zoos forget about the animals mental well being but this zoo's staff, volunteers and donors seem to do a lot of good for the animals. I love the baby meerkats they had today. They're adorable. Right now there's a dinosaur exhibit with a scavenger hunt of sorts. This zoo also has my favorite pretzels in the world! They're truly the best and we got a nice, hot, and fresh one today.
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
$10.50 adult & $6.50 kids Large selection of animals for what I thought was going to be a small zoo. Perfect way to spend a few hours exploring & learning about the wildlife and animals with young kids & their attention spans. LOVE the regional flavors & local food offerings such as prickly pear lemonade (slightly sour & sweet) and green chile popcorn. 100% would recommend if you're in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
My first visit to Reid Park was for "Boo at the Zoo," which is just a blast, with candy stations, games, pirate/magic shows, spooky-cool lighted trails, and photo-opp moments for all the costumed wee-beasties and their parents to enjoy. Set among the pathways, the event has you strolling among the rhino, elephant, flamingos, goats, and other zoo residents one minute and then monsters, Jurassic creatures, superheroes, and storybook characters the next -- fantastic family fun @reidparkzoo (and @yelptucson)!
google avatar

Taotao D.

Yelp
This is a very cute and fun zoo for families and kids. 1. It is located next to the Randolph Dell Urich Golf Course, not too far(3.4 miles) from the University of Arizona and the downtown area. 2. It's a fairly small zoo compared with Phoenix Zoo. However, there was so much shade and greens inside the zoo. Even though it's warm outside, you could still feel the coolness within the zoo. 3. They have many large animated insects such as butterfly, grasshopper, ladybug on display alongside the trail. They were fun creatures with moving legs and wings. 4. Be mindful that no picnic is allowed inside the zoo. There's a large lawn outside the zoo for ppl to picnic and have fun. 5. You may expect a 2-3 hour trip for the kiddos to fully explore the whole area. 6. There are parking lot shade structures for visitors (which we really appreciated, you know AZ's summertime). 7. The tickets were really reasonable. $10.5 for non-members, $8.5 for seniors(62+) $6.5 for kids 2-14, $0 for kids under 2. Culture passess for free admission(good for 2 ppl) are also available at many local libraries (for AZ residents only). All in all, we love this place and definitely will come again.

Yelp
The zoo brings mixed emotions, one I like to see the animals but I can't help but feel a bit guilty about their confinement. But this zoo with its minimal space does a good job on most of the exhibits. I was pretty impressed with the space and landscaping they gave the African elephants, it was much nicer than larger zoos. Being a fan of birds, it was nice to have two walk-in aviaries. Overall the grounds are kept up very nicely, with peacocks roaming through the park. I'd say if you're in a hurry you can go through the park in one hour, but you could spend 2-3 hours here if you took your time. The best part about this zoo, is the value for the money. Daily admission is over 80% cheaper than the San Diego zoo. If you bought a membership and an unlimited guest pass, it's about 90% cheaper than that same zoo. In addition you can get 50% off other participating zoos and aquariums with your membership. If you live in the area I highly recommend the membership, if just visiting Tucson, you can't go wrong with the daily admission, both are a great value.

Yelp
What an amazing zoo! And very well kept and clean! I visited this zoo this afternoon. You have to buy your tickets online and reserve a time slot for covid, keeps everything social distanced. The zoo is about a 14 minute drive from the hotel I am staying at. I reserved a time slot for 2pm and arrived around 1:45pm. Upon entering they scan your ticket and let you know your mask must stay on at all times. Upon walking in they have a gift store a restaurant and a carousel ride ($3) if you wanna ride. I was tempted but I didn't. They have an amazing group of animals from alligators to giraffes to vultures to elephants you name it, it's there. The animal areas are very well kept and they have so much room for movement. I haven't been to a zoo since I was a kid and this as an amazing experience. They have allot of senior animals the rhino is 47 years old and the giraffe she is 32, but they are very well taken care of. I walked around for 2 hours watching them and observing as well as taking a bunch of pictures. I had a great time and would recommend this zoo to anyone who is visiting or if you already live here it's a great place to escape for a few hours. They have benches everywhere so you can sit. Also they are sanitizing all the hand rails and benches. I will be back one more time before I head back home I enjoyed myself very much thank you for a wonderful first time experience!!

Yelp
Since we last time we visited here, this place has really changed and it's beautiful! If your in Tucson there is no way you can miss it. It's located at Reid Park, close to the U of A. Opens early and parking is very accessible. I definitely recommend coming during March-April time frame as the weather is very pleasant. Although it's very children friendly, it's also very adult friendly! I tried the Korean hot dog and it was delicious. However, my green salad was not very good. Your definitely in for a treat by visiting this zoo. At the same time you enjoy the scenery and plants/succulents.
