Google
I’m in here right now and the food is delicious, seen some reviews where people say the ladies here aren’t aware of customers ,but our server was great couldn’t get her name but she has a neck tattoo ,she was really helpful and had such a positive attitude ,i felt very welcomed and she was quick ,definitely would be back !

Google
No frills type of restaurant. My mom lives by this place and she picked this place for lunch. Would I purposely go back again? No... The food wasn't bad but the curtido could have been better and the portion of the beans was tiny, I asked for a container to go and I was able to place my beans and my mom's in a 4oz container. (I'm familiar with the to-go containers and the sizes because I've worked at restaurants before) The Jamaica was very good but if you don't specify that you want the Medium size they will automatically bring you a Large. I was not able to drink all of it. I could have asked for a cup to go but the service was not the greatest and the waitress didn't give the vibes that she wanted to be there. At one point she was sitting at the table next to us with her daughter eating and had her phone really loud having a conversation. I got second hand embarrassment when a customer came to her table to ask the server for to go containers. I just feel like customers shouldn't feel like they have to bother their waitress. Arizona is filled with an abundance of Salvadorian Restaurants I suggest you find another one to enjoy good service.

Google
Pupusas were delicious. Went w a friend and my partner. I got 2 revueltas and 1 chile con queso. They were so good but i didnt expect the chile to be so spicy lol i got platanos fritos and casamiento as my side and they did not disappoint. We tried eachothers sides and i can honestly say i enjoyed everything we had. The chorizo and queso were good, the complimentary chips and beans were so good. The ensalada de fruta was also really good. I ordered an atole de elote to go and the server said she would keep it up front for me. Well, it wasnt. I stood at the register for about 5 minutes before i was acknowledged and then was told that my atole was not ready yet and was a 5 minute wait that actually turned out to be 10. Ladies were too busy on their phone to care. Another down side is how dirty this place is, needs a deep clean like 5 years ago. The food is good, but i will probably never dine in again, takeout only.

Google
Based on a opinion. I gave this location the benefit of a doubt being that I do like to give restaurants a chance and try them out. However as I walked in there was no sort of customer service. They were on their cell phone and didn’t pay any attention or acted like I didn’t matter. And I just want to order. So after standing in front cashier counter one woman decide to finally ask if I needed something. After I was told it’ll be 15 minutes led to 1 hour wait. It between I order drinks and still waited a while. After receiving my food and drinks I honestly didn’t even want it anymore. Food definitely has no authenticity to it. The flavors just aren’t there. Kinda like going to a Taco Bell expecting real Mexican food. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

Google
I’ve pupusas a lot of different places but these are BEST I’ve had thus far. Pupusas are perfectly crispy and the pork and chicken are seasoned sooo well. Their rice is fire too! The customer service has amazing. 100/10! Please take the time to come and try it out!! Also, the playlist here is very good, made me want to get up and dance.

Google
It was my first time here and I was beyond delighted trying the 2 pupusas combo. I got the revuelta and asada con queso. 10/10! I will most definitely be coming here to try their other pupusas and dishes. 😻🇸🇻 Very beautiful staff as well. Love my Salvadoran sisters. ❤️

Google
I absolutely love this place. We always pass by this restaurant when we’re on the road so finally we decided to stop by to try their food and we loved it. The pupusas here are so fresh and tasty. My favorite is the cheese & steak pupusa and the birria pupusa! The staff here doesn’t speak much English which makes the food even better because that’s how you know it’s authentic! The staff are so nice here and they try their best to explain the menu which I appreciate. I’ve been recommending all our friends here.

Google
I love this place. They have great customer service. Everyone is very friendly, and the food is amazing. I don’t have a single complaint. I feel like they are so underrated. They should have 5 stars.

Yelp
We were here last weekend in the area. My husbands' uncle took us here, this is their go to spot for popusas. (They are Salvadorean, so when they don't feel like making popusas they stop here). The place is small, in a little plaza, little hole in the wall join. The lady who greeted us and attended us was really nice, friendly and helpful. She was the only one working as far as serving goes. I ordered the plate that comes with 3 popusas and 2 sides. The popusas are very big & filling. I could only eat 1 and I shared the platter with my daughter. You can def share a plate. The flavors were chefs' kiss! I got the revuelta, you can't go wrong with this flavor. Also the cheese and beans was good. My hubby got the asada popusa which he didn't quite like. We all agreed the revuelta is the best. I also ordered an horchata, which is different from a Mexican horchata. I didn't really like it, ended up with a lemonade. Really good, refreshing and not too sweet. Overall I enjoyed this place! We will be back when we are visiting family again. :)

Yelp
Love their papusas, the ladies are always nice good food and amazing service my husband and I grab some papusas every other month. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
The food here was fantastic! None of us had ever tried Salvadoran food before. The pupusas were soooo good. Definitely try the Birria for an amazing cuisine fusion! Our server was so patient with us asking questions about everything.

Yelp
So, I don't say this lightly but this is thr best Salvadoran restaurant I've been to in Arizona. The food reminds me of dishes my mom's family made growing up. This is a very high compliment. Don't stop what you're doing guys!

Yelp
I was on this side of town for a meeting when I passed by this restaurant. I came in and the place is pretty clean and definitely has a fan base. I ordered pupusas de queso y frejol, platanos, and ensalada drink. Everything was delicious. Everyone here is friendly and the prices are very fair for authentic El Salvadorian food. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Unlike many other pupusas, these had a good ratio of dough to filling. The fusion of birria and pupusa was delicious, but I'll admit i was missing the standard slaw and hot sauce that usually comes with pupusas. Skip the carne asada fries, which had tiny, relatively unseasoned bits of finely diced meat and not bigger chunks of beef. We went relatively late on a Thursday night so the place was pretty empty. Decor is simple and service was good. Would definitely go back for the food.

Yelp
A nice little family restaurant. The food was very delicious and flavorful and served quickly by the friendly staff. I really enjoyed my sopa de Res con Chipilin , it reminded me of old family recipes. The prices were reasonable, the pupusas are very Authentic, this place exceeded my expectation, the staff was friendly and the server was attentive and made great recommendations:) My family and I enjoy coming here and would highly recommend a stop in :)

Yelp
Initial observations... The parking lot looks like a war war-zone. Nearly hit a pot hole about a foot deep. This, along with homeless wandering area set the mood.... I almost drove off. Entering the restaurant, I noticed that every vacant table was dirty and the floor was littered with used napkins and crumbs. I sat next to the window and watched the homeless walk by.... I realize that some of this is not the fault of the restaurant, obviously. This was my first time having Salvadorian food and it was very good. Everything seemed fresh and delicious. I had the Huevos Con Chorizo Salvadoraño. Very good. The service was just fair. My server was not very attentive. Despite the negative issues, I would like to try this place again.

Yelp
Very good food. Authentic Energy. Local Spot. Universal Timing. This place is a nice thing to find. Coming from a different state I found this while on the road and shoutout to them. Felt like apart of the local family.

Yelp
First time trying this place. First off, the restaurant does not have AC and we had to leave early and get our food to go, it was very hot and we were all sweaty. We tried as many different flavored pupusas, and a few other items. What we picked is below. Pupusas * Revueltas: (Queso, Chicharron, y Frijoles), (Cheese, Pork, and Refried Beans) * Asada Con Queso: steak with cheese * Frijoles con Queso: bean and cheese * Tamales de Elote: sweet corn tamale Dessert * Empanadas de Platano: Plantain Empanada Once we were home in our cold home, we could finally enjoy the food. All of it was very tasty. We probably wouldn't get the sweet corn tamale again, it was a bit soft but still pretty good. Our favorite was the bean and cheese one! Maybe we will try again, but I'd have to say it's a 6/10.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is very delicious authentic El Salvadorian and filling. We went as a party of 7 for a birthday. The staff definitely wasn't prepared for our party with their regular patrons. But once the service caught up, we really enjoyed our margaritas and papusas. My favorite was the squash and cheese and the sweet plantain. We were very fortunate to have a secluded booth to laugh and enjoy each other without disturbing the other people, plus it gave us an intimate atmosphere to enjoy ourselves. I will definitely go back to eat again.

Yelp
Delicious, great price, friendly service!! I've been here two times , I live far but I'll definitely come back!

Yelp
First timer having pupusas. I had the revuelta (pork, beans & cheese) & the pork & cheese option. No sides (so I definitely could've stuffed a 3rd one but I decided on portion control. Lol). They were a great size, cheese was melty & yummy! Curtido was delicious. They had a "salsa" which was a tomato based salsa (but I'd prefer a picante salsa). But no complaints overall. I went 1hr before closing. They still served me & basically left me be until they brought my drink & later my food. Only thing is I didn't know you had to get up to go to the register to cash out so I sat there for a bit but no biggie overall. Good experience & I plan to return to try other pupusa flavors.

Yelp
Amazing black beans. The pupusas were delicious, almost perfect as they were a little on the greasy side. Truly authentic Salvadorean food, you have to check it out. Not too many salvadorean restaurants in North Phoenix, conveniently located right off the 17. Could use better signage, the current name sign is a banner which is harder to distinguish at night.

Yelp
I love this place and their food! I usually order to go but today as I picked up my order & I decided to sit in after all especially because I walked from my house with my little family since it was nice out today. The only thing I can say I didn't really like is that the server isn't attentive. I only drink water and she never asked about a refill or if we wanted to order more... which I wanted to order more but instead I just left. I will be making to go orders from now on. Overall I love the food!
google avatar

Vianca H.

Yelp
Family owned place, food is cooked fresh handmade pupusas. They are cash only, so come ready! Very affordable each only costing $3.50. They offer a variety of other traditional dishes, I've yet to try. Their drink options are crazy, a ton of options. Deserts are fire. Highly recommend the plantain empanada! Cheers friends!!
google avatar

Yelp
I love how extensive their menu is. Most pupusa places have a small menu, but this place has the most pupusa varieties I have seen. When you dine in, you start with delicious refried black beans and tortilla chips. I ordered the 2 pupusa combo (calebasitas and loroco) with plantanos fritos and crema. All absolutely fantastic, but don't expect a ton of calebasitas. It was just a few diced with cheese- super tasty! I can't wait to go back to try the fried yucca! Someone I dined with isn't a bean person and only likes refried pinto beans. He ended up loving the refried black beans and even loved the bean and cheese pupusa.

Janeth S.

Yelp
Place has no AC, smells musty and stuffy . Cashier with the dirty little crocs (no socks as to which I thought it was endearing to be able to see the little piggies out) . As I was signing the store copy receipt, she practically slammed/ threw the customer receipt at me. My order had been ready for some previous time and she had been prioritizing expediting everyone else's food, so mine when I got to the car to check everything was fine, my food was tepid at most.
google avatar

Cesar P.

Yelp
As a lifelong Salvadorean this place came into my radar last minute. Most pupuserias close earlier in the evening but they stay open till 9. I ordered 4 pupusas de chicharron con queso. After opening the pupusa it was more like carnitas instead of chicharron and they were more masa than stuffing. I showed up and their pricing was different than what was online and the cashier kept telling me they didn't have online pricing. That was until I showed him the yelp menu. The red salsa was very diluted and flavorless.
google avatar

EM M.

Yelp
The pupusas were filled with lots of cheese and beans, and they were flavorful. The yucca was okay, a bit oily. The cabbage was lacking some flavors and the sauce needed a bit more seasoning
google avatar

Jan E.

Yelp
Love this good food. It's not diet food but it's very tasty and filling. Fresh ingredients and made to order. Great service. Friendly. Love the Cole slaw that comes with the papusas.
google avatar

Dean F.

Yelp
I prefer to rate the food first. The pupusas were very good, tasty and well cooked. The rice was good also and beans were tasty. I've been here three times and now I'll state the following based on my own personal experience . Yesterday I found a long hair in the beans and in All honesty that alone diminished my appetite. when I pointed it about and requested a new tray of beans I was looked a certain way and she grabbed it out of my hands as if it was my fault . To pay 58 bucks for three people and poor customer service I will state that this was my last time here. My previous two experiences food was ok but I do recall the customer service been poor. The way they speak to you is rude and they make it seem we as customers are a bother.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing papusas, so big, each adult can only eat 2. We loved the spinach, steak and the chicken. Their Jamaica compliments excellent and is sooooo good. We have been back twice in the last months.

Cari R.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Staff was so friendly. We absolutely loved our lunch and the entire food experience. The homemade tortillas were amazing. Also - the pupusas were phenomenal. I cannot say enough good things about our wonderful experience. You do not want to miss this experience.
google avatar

Thanks G.

Yelp
I'm from Los Angeles where there's a pupusa restaurant on every block and these are straight up some of the best pupusas I've ever had if not the best. They're also large and not skimpy on the filling at all. I don't really care about anything at restaurants other than the food, but if you do the people working are also really nice and the interior is pretty cool looking. It's obvious that a lot of effort went into this place. Don't forget to tip! I saw someone say everything was great and then leave nothing. When you're working on tips any little bit helps. If you can't afford the tip, don't eat out at a restaurant. There's a tip jar at the front near the register. I have been back several times in the last two weeks and will keep coming back until I leave Phoenix!

Yelp
I drove 17 mins so I could try this place and I knew it was worth it the minute I stepped in. The smell of pupusas immediately took me back home. I ordered takeout but I have to say the place resembles all the pupuserias from El Salvador. You walk in and there is music on and also a soccer game on, this is typical Salvadorian. We love to multitask and we love noise. I was a little taken aback by the $3.50 for one pupusa however they are huge. I only ate one despite ordering 2. The plantain empanadas were delicious as well as the horchata. I also ordered tamales which I will have for breakfast so I'll have to update my review after that. All in all this is Salvadorian approved!

Yelp
best. pupusas. EVER. the staff are very kind, the food is fresh, hot, beyond flavorful (bean, chicken, asada, and jalapeño pupusas are bomb, and the guac is amazing as well as the chips), and the place is such a beauty - it feels like stepping into a little world when you walk through the door. i love the family feel and wouldn't want this place any other way!

David C.

Yelp
I ate by myself, IT WAS 30$!! i asked for a side of aguacate and queso fresco, 5$EACH SIDE! and it was a micro side too. never again eating here

Sarah M.

Yelp
The papusas are sooo good and the combos are a great deal. I especially like the yuca frita, avocado, flour tortilla chips, curtido, the salsa, the loroco, revuelto, frijoles con queso, and the birria Pupusas. If anything, the salsa could be a bit thicker. And if you want really hot salsa with your chips...their spiciest is not very hot. The ambience is sort of quiet on a Saturday lunchtime, but with great merengue music playing The servers are pleasant, but they aren't going to come to your table a lot to check on you. You may have to get up and ask when you want something else.
google avatar

Ben H.

Yelp
I feel like I know Salvadorian food better than the average Arizonan after dating a doctor from El Salvador. But believe me when I say pupusas are not what the doctor ordered. They are unhealthy, greasy, and full of dense saturated fat- but so delicious at the same time. She was right, the best way to get a pupusa is cheese only. If you add meat, it becomes a greasy mess. A shower is indicated if you eat more than one. I ordered two.

Abel H.

Yelp
Over Hyped and Over Priced Pupusas.. No flavor and too thick of masa. I'd rather go to Salvadoreño 2
google avatar

Brandi C.

Yelp
The best restaurant in the valley for pupusas! The plantains are also a must try! So delicious!
google avatar

Dale D.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant! We got some amazing "pupusas", empanadas and Salvadoran quesadilla! Everything was fresh and very tasty. Loved every bite. I will be back for more.
google avatar

Rudy L.

Yelp
The service is great, very welcoming! My son and I had a hard time deciding what to order. We each had the two combination popusas plate witch comes with different side to choose from. It's a bit warm inside the restaurant other than that highly recommend it!! I leave in California and it's a must stop for food when I'm in town.
google avatar

Xochitl R.

Yelp
Their pupusas are good. They're all I've tried from here. My favorite has to be their birria pupusa. They're sauces are delicious and so is the consomé. I can get filled with 2 pupusas because they're very cheesy and filled. I don't here often only because of the cost of each pupusa. It doesn't work well with my budget for the amount of food, but I'm sure it works out well for others!
google avatar

Cam C.

Yelp
The food and service here are AWESOME! Stopped in for dinner on Valentine's Day and LOVED it!! We ordered a Salvadoran horchata, a coke in the bottle, the plantain and empanada appetizers, and two of the 3 papusa meals with carne, beans, shrimp, and pork. Everything was so good and our two servers were so, so nice! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
It was really good and filling. Well portioned and authentic. I was happy we chose to try this out at work.

Yelp
Do Not Judge A Book By Its Cover!! Plain looking front entry in an Ugly strip mall at the intersection of Northern/23rd Ave. Easy parking. SO cute and clean and welcoming INSIDE! Excellent service. Fresh ingredients, so nicely presented. I also got to taste all 3 drinks before committing to Horchata. FOOD is traditional Salvadoran. Order the extra avocado it really enhances the flavors as does the crisp flavorful "coleslaw" dish that I generously forked onto everything on my plate. I got the squash and cheese pupusa and Loved it. Friend got the pork one, loved it. What's Not to love?? Bring Friends - Order a variety. Live happily ever after. LOCALLY owned & operated.

Yelp
Hole in the wall find. Great papusas. A normal human will not be able to consume the 3 papusas combo plate for $9.50 without taking some home. So don't try or it will be worse than Thanksgiving. Shrimp was best. Steak my least favorite. But I'm sure they are all tasty. They start you off with a small batch of fried chips of some kind and warm salsa that was quite tasty. The papusas came with a squirt bottle of tomato based salsa that tasted a lot like bloody mary mix (in a good way). It also comes with a cold jar of lightly pickled greens that are delicious to add to the top of the papusas (which are sort of like freshly made tortillas with cheese and meet on the inside, then pan fried). Service was super friendly and attentive. Kitchen cook time is hit or miss. I waited 35 minutes for my lunch but others arriving after seemed to wait 5 minutes. I would recommend a later (after 12pm) rather than earlier lunch in case they are still prepping. They do a ton of takeout business and that can slow them down. It's not fancy inside and isn't much to look at from the outside but it's good authentic food that will fill you up for a nice price. It seems pretty busy and there is a ton of parking in the lot outside. Pleasant yet informal dining room with lively hispanic music and always smiling staff serving quality food at a bargain price. I'll absolutely be back.

Aratamaru A.

Yelp
We stopped to eat here on our way back to San Diego. Everything, especially the papusas, were so good that we placed an extra order to go for our family back home to enjoy. We don't know if the papusas will make the 5-hour drive, but at least we tried. If you're Pinoy like me and are craving a nice fresh bowl of Bulalo, get the Sopas de Res con chipilin - you'll feel right at home.
google avatar

Elenie B.

Yelp
Super yummy pupusas! Good portions and the salvi horchata is spot on!!! Got 4 revueltas and 2 carne con queso and rice and beans for the sides. 10/10!
google avatar

Helena H.

Yelp
The restaurant was clean, and had a homey feel to it. The staff who worked there greeted my dining partner and I with a big smile, and were free to choose wherever we'd like to sit. The chips (which were probably made in house) and salsa that were brought to us were amazing. The actual pupusas (I had shrimp and carne asada) themselves were outstanding. I tasted the beans that were on my dining partner's plate, and they were flavorful and easy to consume. The prices are more than generous, will be back again.

karlee f.

Yelp
Really yummy food. And a cute place for a little date. Love it! If you've never had a papusa this is the place to go!
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Just want to say an update that still the place never disappoints! They have the best pupusas in AZ hands down
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Service was phenomenal including the food and the drinks, the atmosphere feels very home-y, their birria pupusas are absolutely to die for
google avatar

Jesus C.

Yelp
We came in to eat here at 8:40pm and their hours say they close at 9pm. So when we came in they told us they were closed and we can only order take out because they were slow in the past hour. I don't like leaving bad reviews but just the fact that they didn't even want to attend us still during regular business hours. They lost clients and our business.
google avatar

Luis S.

Yelp
Was in the mood for pupusas so I decided to check this place out. Unlike LA, El Salvadorean cuisine is limited in Phoenix but this place gets it right! The pupusas are so good! Would recommend eating in or picking up for yourself so you can enjoy it in its best form! Will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. Don't be discouraged by the strip mall that this place is in! It's truly quality food and service! Pupusa Plate
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
Really pupusas. They are bigger than you think. Just one or two would be enough for a meal. I got the 3 combo and have leftover with sides. Definitely recommend. The sweet corn tamales is really good too.
