Magnificent. Delicious food in a beautiful room, with attentive service and an epic wine list that is both dauntingly impressive and yet surprisingly functional. The Chef's menu was excellent, and good value. Each course was lovely, and there was more than enough. The 600g steak as the main was a stand-out - we were served 3 for our table of 6, each perfectly cooked to order, with a selection of mustards and sauces. Will go back!👏👌👍

The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is just as impressive — the architecture alone makes the experience feel special and memorable. The Loddon Estate duck is an absolute must-order. I honestly have no idea how they cooked it, but it was superb — perfectly balanced, rich, and unforgettable. Service was warm and genuinely lovely, with smiles all around, which really elevated our night out. An all-round exceptional dining experience that we’ll be thinking about for a long time. Oh! Wine list is crazy good! Can’t skip tho!

This is a place for all occasions, especially when you want to celebrate with your love ones. The atmosphere is classy and cozy, full of buzz but not noisy. The food is amazing, we initially thought of ordering from ala carte menu but were attracted to their chef’s and signature sets. The signature set exceeded our expectations, everything from starter, entree, main and dessert were awesome. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they gave us time to through the menu and explained it well. The sommelier is knowledgeable, passionate and recommended some good wine that suit us. Overall a great experience, lovely and memorable dinner.

My recent dining experience at Reine & La Rue was certainly memorable, though it came with mixed feelings. To start with, the ambience was nothing short of spectacular — elegant, romantic, and truly grand. The restaurant’s interior design, with its refined décor and atmospheric lighting, set the perfect stage for a special evening. It’s the kind of place that feels ideal for a date night or a celebratory dinner, where every detail — from the table setting to the background music — enhances the mood of luxury and intimacy. As for the service, it was exceptional. The staff were polite, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain each dish and offer thoughtful recommendations. One of the male waiters seemed a little unsure when describing the menu, but his effort and professionalism were still very much appreciated. The overall level of service made the experience feel warm and welcoming, even in such a fine-dining setting. Moving on to the food, this was where my personal preferences came into play. It was my first time trying this style of cuisine, and I must admit that the flavours didn’t quite suit my palate. I usually enjoy bold and spicy tastes, so the delicate and rich flavours of dishes like the foie gras felt a bit heavy and overwhelming for me. It’s not that the food was poorly made — in fact, it was beautifully presented and clearly of high quality — but rather that the subtlety of the flavours was simply different from what I’m used to. In summary, Reine & La Rue is an extraordinary restaurant in terms of atmosphere and service, but the cuisine might not appeal to those who prefer strong, spicy flavours. Still, it’s an experience worth trying at least once for the sheer beauty and elegance of the place.

Fine dining restaurant with instagrammable interior. Entrance is a small door in the old ANZ Gothic Bank building next to the ANZ museum on Collins St. Featuring neo-Gothic architecture, stained glass windows and dimly lit lights. The food: Beef tartare - very well minced and flavourful, well seasoned. 4.5/5 Scallops - tastes like butter chicken sauce with scallop instead. Very interesting and new take. 4/5 Smoked ora salmon - tasted good but didn’t feel like it was special. Creamy. Tender and well seasoned, the biscuit had lots of roasted spices and was good at mopping up the diced salmon. 3.5/5 Duck- very juicy and tender, perfectly cooked pink in the breast. Honey glaze makes the skin slightly crispy. If you eat the breast with the jus (the chefs recommendation is to eat it alone) it tastes even better, perfect combination of umami, slightly salty and sweet. The little black berry and cabbage garnish is also great to eat a piece of duck with, a splash of sweetness on a background of savoury and umami. 5/5 The pomme puree - mash with bone marrow - extremely smooth mash with extra decadence from the marrow, perfect complement for any protein. 5/5 John Dory - I would’ve liked it slightly softer and flakier. The smoked mussels are a great garnish and the creamy sauce complements the fish well. Would’ve also liked the piece to be slightly larger, since it is fish, it’s not as dense as other meats. 4/5 The service: Very friendly and attentive water refills, explained the menu well. Bathrooms also relatively clean as expected for a fine dining restaurant.

Honestly a great experience. Food was delicious, atmosphere was great and service was also great. The chef’s menu was the perfect amount of food for two with great variety. Lighting was slightly darker than I’m personally happy with and noise levels were relatively loud since it was a full house but was still okay to have a conversation. Probably the greatest part is the venue. Architecture was beautiful on the inside. Definitely recommend for an occasion.

Had a wonderful experience here. Need to enter the building before finding the restaurant. Came here for dinner and was seated at the bar. Had a direct view to the different type of drinks. Bartenders were very helpful - ordered 3 different classic cocktails that were not on the menu, but they crafted it beautifully. Food was absolutely amazing, you can select chef's menu or go with ala carte - had crab crumpet and beef tartare for starter, prawn for entree, flat iron wagyu for main (on top of the sauce, they had complimentary mustard to select), and soft serve ice cream for dessert (there are 3 different sauces to pick, 3 different crumbs to pick, and 3 different fruit/nut topping to pick). Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was great and very attentive - both from servers and bartenders. Great for dining with friends or families, or for a date, or for dining alone.

What a wonderful experience in an exquisite venue. My friend I enjoyed a leisurely Sunday lunch opting for the large chef’s selection and unique (not classic) wine pairing. Highly recommend this on a Sunday so that you may sit, enjoy and take your time as the total experience is worth it. $977 for two ( we added one additional cocktail each). The scallops were divine and a stand out together with the foie Gras. Would love to return and try their Americano menu. Our photos don’t do the food justice! Service was exceptional and Marco the Sommelier was extremely knowledgable and passionate about his craft.
