This is a gem of a find deep in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra. This old house is being beautifully kept with all the old features restored, while providing modern comforts such as Wifi, contemporary bathroom fixtures and comfortable beds. This is a place to really get a taste of what an true old Galician house was like. The host Xurxo and his family are very friendly and accommodating, and I would really recommend having breakfast there with the delicious home made cakes, jams, and fresh eggs.||We were a group of 3 friends from the UK going to the area to ride our bycicles and could not have been more pleased with the experience.

Xurxo's home is the most beautiful place and he is a warm and helpful host. We loved the delicious organic fruit and vegetables from the garden and the wonderful home-made bread. We liked the sustainable ethos too. There are excellent walking and biking routes from the door; swimming and kayaking available in the river below; other good places to eat just up the road in Parada and wineries further afield if you want to visit. It was so peaceful, spotless and relaxing. We loved it!

I was so excited to find a place in Spain that would cater to vegetarians! It is so hard to love food and traveling and to not be able to experience local cuisine. Xurxo created lovely Vegetarian meals for us that were regional and delicious! Eating here was my favorite part of my whole vacation!! ||On top of that this place is just incredible! The farm, the church the rooms, all of it.||Our room was rustic and filled with old world charm. The bathroom was modern and beautiful.. Very hot water and great water pressure too! The place is quite comfortable with lots of outside seating and areas to relax. ||We really enjoyed the local wines and exploring all the Monasteries in the area. Ribera Sacra is a really beautiful place to spend some time and I can't think of a better place to do it from.

We’ve just had 2 nights staying at Reitoral de Chandrexa very peaceful location in such a beautiful area we’ve done a couple of walks in the local area we throughly recommend exploring the area. The food here has been excellent all local produce and most grown in Xurxo’s garden, the dishes in the evenings have been so different and delicious it was a refreshing change not knowing what you were getting until it came to the table, Xurxo is a wonderful host, very nice friendly man it’s a pity we don’t speak more Spanish but his English was very good, overall we loved this place very rustic full of charm and so very peaceful/beautiful. Hopefully return again in the future.

We took a break from camper vanning around northern Spain to spend 2 nights here. I was drawn by both the building, an d rectory, and the fact that they grow and serve all their own food - and I was not disappointed. Both Xurxo and Hortencia are great hosts, from cooking to advising on activities and providing a kayak for the day. Highly, highly recommended.

Best vacations ever. I have been all over the world, no place like this. At least for me, who was looking for a quiet and peaceful place. It is located in the heart of Ribiera Sacra, and amazing place. The house itself is fantastic, great and simple accommodations. Its owner, Xurcho (no sure about the spelling) a very nice guy, attentive host, and kind. I hope I will be able to go back.
Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

After an impressive drive coming from Ourense, we enjoyed two days at the lovely Reitoral Chandrexa. The owner takes good care of the place and we enjoyed fresh meals cooked with products from the garden. There was also house made wine. The three dogs and the animals kept at the farm made the stay even more worthwile.
