The staff and mangers were excellent. They were super nice ,grateful and attentive the whole time. Whether it was always making sure you had a full drink or putting a heating pad in your bed to make sure your bed was warm they would do it. They strived to teach the guests about their culture and created an environment where all the guests could bond and share story’s. You will never get the chance to be hungry with the delicious food that’s ready for you at anytime. The staff member Paul was precious and made are stay extra special. Highly recommend coming here

From the minute we arrived until the second we left we were treated like family. We were warmly greeted by singing and every detail was thought of. Every morning our wake-up call was coffe or tea delivered to our tent and every evening our bed was warmed with rubber hot water pads. The food was excellent and they were very cared with our allergies. My gluten free daughter was given every treat we got and wonderful meals. I highly suggest Rejero.

The view of the camp is amazing looking over the river, we saw lots of hippos and crocs. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the entire trip. The food was amazing, I’m gluten free and they were able to accommodate me, from fresh bread with every meal to the same dessert as everyone else in a gf version. Overall an amazing experience!

We had the most amazing experience at Rekero Camp! It was our first safari, and we didn’t know quite what to expect, but the experience far exceeded our highest expectations. The location and camp setup is wonderful - we could see (and hear) hippos in the river from right outside our tent, animals in the distance, and even got to witness a group of giraffes crossing the river right in front of the camp one afternoon. The food was amazing, and the service was incredible, from the tea brought to our rooms in the morning to the laundry service (much appreciated) as we had been traveling without laundry beforehand). They even gave us hot water bottles and warm blankets for the chilly morning drive before the sunrise. ||The safari drives themselves were unmatched experiences. We were huge fans of our guide Joel, who was so knowledgeable about the animals and frequently predicted their behavior in order to take us to the exact right places to go to see the most interesting things - like lions jumping over a creek or a giant herd of elephants grazing on a hilltop. He knew how to catch the action but also was great at helping us enjoying the slower moments in between seeing big animals, like a mid-morning breakfast alongside the hippos or time spent spotting different types of birds - he knew the name of every bird we saw along with many facts about them. We also really appreciated the professionalism of managers Timothy and Samuel, who helped everything run smoothly and were so welcoming, and we also appreciated Isaac and all his help. ||We loved our stay at Rekero Camp and hope to be back!

The camp has been recently refurbished, with a nice update to the tents. The location remains a very good one, right on the Talek River with a crossing point (in the right season) right in front of the lounge area. Hippos and crocs were regularly seen down in the river. It’s worth noting that the camp is not far from the nearest airstrip, and during the day there was the very occasional plane passing overhead just before landing. We had tent #1 here, one of the family tents. This consisted of two large bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two twins. Both rooms had a large bathroom connected to it, and the two bedrooms were connected by a comfortable seating area. The only main challenge with the tent was that in the early afternoon the main bedroom got full sunlight, and it got very hot for a few hours. This sun also would shine down on the outdoor sitting area; this area actually didn’t have any chairs or other furniture, perhaps due to the high heat. There was a fan in each bedroom, but during siesta time the tent definitely got warm! I was also a little surprised that the door at the entrance had a gap of a couple of centimeters on the bottom, which meant we had a fairly regular stream of small ants looking for crumbs from our wakeup tray. The food was high quality and always appreciated, we stayed here during Valentine’s Day and there was not only special chocolates (and roses) in the morning but romantic dinner in the evening. The camp has a satellite balcony sitting area that is used for private lunches, but we also sat there a couple of times in the shade to get out of our hot tent. It was really appreciated, and somewhere worth spending time to watch the savannah life pass by. Overall, a really nice camp in a great location to explore the reserve.

A really great team at Rekero Camp. We stayed here for three nights beginning of February and had an amazing time. Wildlife is always our priority and Jackson did a great guiding job. Always had the right feeling for place and time. The food was fantastic and the whole team did an amazing job. All the pictures I added were taken during our stay.

Words cannot describe the absolutely incredible experience of Rekero Camp! My friend and I went on safari in Kenya not knowing what to expect, and we were amazed by the staff and overall experience at Rekero. We stayed for three nights and wish we could have stayed many more. I can’t say enough good things about the staff—they were really what made everything so incredible. The managers Sam and Timothy were so kind and made sure everything taken care of for us. Japher was such a great waiter throughout the stay, and Moses was the best housekeeper. We loved getting to know Isaac and Joseph, who made us feel so safe escorting us to and from our tents each morning before sunrise and evening after dark. Best of all, our guide Saruni was EXCEPTIONAL. Because of his extraordinary knowledge of the animals and his years of experience guiding, we saw every animal we could have ever wanted to including the ones that are tougher to catch a glimpse of like the leopard and cheetah. He was so kind and funny, and we loved spending every day with him. We were so sad to leave him at the end of the three days—we really became friends over our time together! A few notes in case they are helpful to others: —I was worried it would be too hot without air conditioning, but we had no issues at all. There was a large standing fan in the room, and that, in conjunction with the breeze off the river, made it more than comfortable. —We never had any issues with bugs or mosquitoes at any time at the camp or elsewhere in the Mara. —My friend and I were a bit cautious going into this trip being two single female travelers, but we never once felt anything other than complete ease once we were at Rekero. —Asilia (the company that runs Rekero) only hires local Masai guides, and this makes all the difference. The guides have grown up around the animals, and they are so knowledgeable about them. We heard from numerous people that other camps’ guides follow Asilia vehicles around because they know the guides know what they’re doing/where they’re going, and we witnessed this first hand. —Multiple other groups staying at Rekero had stayed there before and were returning for annual visits. This shows how quality the camp is that people keep returning. —The food was so delicious. This was something I was nervous about going into the trip, but absolutely loved once I experienced it. Great cuisine options. —The camp is not fenced, so animals walk through at night! This is incredible because you get to hear their calls. We never felt nervous about this because the security staff was so top notch. Prior to this trip, I thought going on a safari was a bucket list trip you do once in your life—I couldn’t have been more wrong! This experience showed me that safari is the most relaxing, amazing experience you can ever have. All of that is dependent on the people—the staff at every level of the camp make or break your experience, and the team at Rekero made sure our expectations were exceeded in every possible way. I can’t wait to come back to Kenya, and I plan to stay at Rekero every time I visit in the future!
