Castello di Guarene (Guarene, Piedmont) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Not some rough-hewn medieval tower, but an opulent 18th-century palace built by a Piedmontese aristocrat, Castello di Guarene remains true to its original vision even in its modern guise as a luxury boutique hotel — there’s nothing the least bit stark, spare, or minimalist about this particular Italian castle. The historical structure contains twelve rooms and suites of varying size, from the 40-square-meter Classic room to the Luxury Suite, which spans an extraordinary 200. But what they’ve all got in common is a maximally ornate interior style and views of the castle’s extravagant gardens as well as the Piedmontese hills or the distant Alps." - Tablet Hotels

Speechless - the location of this castle makes you think like you're on Olympus when the fog sets in below. One of the most magical, beautiful places I've ever been lucky enough to visit. The rooms are clean, the service timely and the restaurant food was delicious - absolutely one of a kind.

It is a large Castello with extraordinary views, impressive, comfortable period rooms and suites. The reception staff were very helpful and the lady who manages the breakfast room was so kind and helpful. ||The only reason we did not rate 5 stars was because of the unacceptably rude attitude of the maître d when, as the first guests to arrive, we politely asked to change tables. He actually rolled his eyes and flatly refused any of the 5 tables we wanted to switch to saying they were all reserved. At the end of our dinner, which was perfectly delicious, only 3 of those tables were occupied - when I mentioned this he replied that they had received cancellations or no-shows from outside guests…||The building is quite extraordinary with long passageways and narrow stairs to the rooms (there is a lift) and curiously out of keeping leather armchairs and cheap perfume diffusers. The decoration is a little off but the hotel is a must see and we recommend staying here for a unique experience.

It's a 3 star hotel. Spa close at 7 PM. Bar close at 11PM, heavily understaffed. Rooms and Castle are very averagely restored. Can amase only guests from outside Europe

The MOST spectacular hotel experience in Europe, hands down!!!! Driving in is awe inspiring, among the vineyards and up the hill to the castle! The room is awe inspiring with silk walls, mutant chandeliers and all the modern amenities you can ask for! A grotto pool, sauna, spa and Himalayan salt room with a deck overlooking the langhe is awe inspiring! The dinner, with Gabriel the awesome sommelier and a chef that whips up all sorts of delicious local cuisine that is filled with love and creativity is awe inspiring! You catch my drift…: it was just all AWE INSPIRING and I don’t think I’ve caught my breath since!

One of the amazing treasures of the region. It’s a castle converted partially into a hotel. Perched on a hill top and looks around all the directions. Has fabulous views and amnesties of a five star hotel. The service is exquisite. Each of the person has an unique personality which add tremendously to an unique experience. The gardens are beautiful and the village surrounding it is nice to walk in. A rare place I’d come back to

No detail is overlooked at this property and was one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in. For weeks before arrival, I corresponded with their staff to arrange transfers and a tour. Christian was extremely prompt and helped me to make a variety of arrangements. He connected me with a tour guide for the day who was absolutely wonderful. Every member of the staff was welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant was among some of the best I had in Piedmont. I can't recommend this property enough! Thank you for such a wonderful stay and all of your assistance.

I am not sure which part was a better experience. The hotel or the staff. Matteo was incredible. He educated us on the area and the wines that we were drinking. The bar staff was great and very knowledgeable also about the wines. We loved the fact that we could order amazing wines by the glass at lunch time... before we went to taste but still return to the hotel for dinner and still be presented with an amazing wine list by the bottle. I am embarrassed that I don't remember the lady's name who served us lunch on the first day and greeted us warmly every morning for breakfast but we loved her too! The whole team was great. Our room was amazing. We were supposed to be in Italy for 1 week but work called us back after 3 nights and thanks to your hotel and the team there, we did not feel cheated out of our full stay in Italy. We came home rested and relaxed as if we were gone for the full week.
