Relais & Châteaux Gutshaus Stolpe

Stolpe in December, in its Christmas attire, is impossibly charming. I was there in connection wirth a short business seminar and I am happy with this choice. Attentive and helpful team, comfortable accomodation, good food and calm, no distractions. A heated outdoor pool in December - fantastic. I hope to go back.

Beautifully renovated country estate, warm and cozy atmosphere. Stylish without being overdone. Excellent service.

It was a nice discovery to me. I would recommend to anybody who is looking for gentle and village-style place to load batteries.

Pros|Friendly reception, nice territory, lake nearby||Cons|The hotel is old and has no elevator. The room was dirty, a lot of dust lot of spiders. Towels were torn, the hairdryer was covered with dust, the balcony was dirty, not cozy as photos say. The room was dark, doesn't match the photos. |The only restaurant is far from Michelin and they have the same small menu for lunch and dinner. The food was tasty, but not something special, very simple. We were only one who didn't get the bread, though all German speaking people got it. The sommelier was terrible, no good manners and bad conversation. He didn't let us try the wine, just splashed it into the glass. It seemed that there were some discrimination because we don't speak German. |We didn't expect it from Relais & Châteaux. Cannot recommend, will never come back.

Beautiful well kept property & grounds on the river. Very friendly staff apart from the porter on arrival, not particularly helpful. Bedroom was quite tight with all the furniture in it. Small mini bar with water, cokes & 1 beer.|Turn down was literally pulling curtains and leaving a chocolate. No fresh towels or bins emptied. Other hotels of this standard provided much more indebt service.|Breakfast was excellent with eggs cooked to order.|Unfortunately the One Michelin restaurant was not open due to staffing difficulties so we ate in the hotels restaurant both nights, which offered fine dinning experience. Dishes were well presented, extremely flavoursome & excellently served. There is another more rustic restaurant by the river which we hope to try on another visit.|The grounds, terraces & out door pool areas where beautifully kept.

We were really looking forward to our stay in the Gutshaus. We were a little taken aback by the first photo on the booking e-mail, which shows an old Porsche in front of a dilapidated barn. The room was ok, even if the price-performance ratio wasn't quite balanced in our opinion. |The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. That's probably one of the hotel's big plus points. The wellness area is very inviting and tastefully furnished. The sauna itself seems a little bit small, but that was no problem. What was a bit unusual was that you had to walk across the dark courtyard to get to the wellness area. This is also the case on the way to the alternative restaurant, the Old Fährkrug. A little more light on the bumpy road would be helpful. Especially when wet.|So what is extraordinary about this location? Certainly the staff, certainly the absolutely quiet location and the beautiful surroundings. |But you definitely come here, at least we do, because of the cuisine. Chef Christian Somann and his team surprised us in an unusual and absolutely impressive way. What an evening! Very great art! Unusual combinations, balanced flavors, artistic arrangements. That's why it's worth coming here and we'll definitely come back.

Our three night stay was very pleasant. Check in was pretty quick as we arrived early and waited just a bit to access our room. Staff were all helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Breakfast was just right with buffet items and the ability to order eggs the way we liked off their menu. We ate once each at both their restaurants. Our last night there we ate at their Michelin starred restaurant. The food was delicious! They were just putting up the star on the front door as we were departing. WiFi was good but did not try the TV. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was good size with a tub. ||||The hotel is located in a lovely area. We had a car so were able to visit a few of the surrounding towns. All very picturesque. ||||We would return again. It was a very leasant stay.
