Relais & Chateaux Hotel Orfila

The hotel is in an ideal location, quiet, safe, and near fun neighborhood shops and cafes. It is also close to many of the major tourist destinations in Madrid, whether by Uber, taxi, Metro, or just walking.||On arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff and Cava and was able to check in early. The room was upgraded, which was another pleasant surprise. This hotel is intimate, which allows for a personalized experience.||I dined at the restaurant for dinner and found the food and service to be excellent. I also had drinks on the outdoor patio, which was lovely.||The thing that stood out the most, though, was the front desk service. They were incredibly helpful, allowing me to continue on my way forward after my two-day stay. Thank you all!||If you like a more boutique and curated experience, I highly recommend the Relais and Chateaux brand and this hotel in particular.

I am having a hard time writing this review, since I a reserved type of guy, that likes simple things. It was difficult sharing with the world our experience, but I realized that in addition of opening up and spreading the word, its a classy way of thanking Hotel Orfila and all its team members that provided the best imaginable experience. ||It’s my third time that I have visited the Orfila Hotel. With my wife, with kids, as a family and every time we have visited, the Hotel has impressed us greatly. It’s maintenance, attention to the detail of their team has the location in optimal state, but the service is impressive; warm, they read minds, it’s a place that you can call it home while being away. ||Traveling is always stressing but you will be certain that at Orfila Hotel, the type of milk that you pair your coffee with, will be remembered every morning during breakfast, at one of the best spots that you could have breakfast! The service of the Hotel’s team is impressive, since you walk past the doors you feel pampered, it is because they assist, they help you out, they pour a glass of Cava, in order to expedite check-in, or when suddenly you will find all your bags at your room, you will quickly get acquainted to Hotel Orfila’s staff, moving around and to all the details/surprises that you will find in your room. Not only the macaroons, the chocolates, but the best foot cream to pamper your feet after a full day discovering Madrid. If you need any suggestion or recommendations for having dinner, don’t worry Hotel Orfila’s team is the best, you will get the reservation that you are looking forward to obtaining and in case you’ve got it but need to make amendments, the Hotel Orfila’s team is ready to assist. Big Shout Out to Carlos, he is simply the best! Amazing spot! Will return every time I visit Madrid.

This is a lovely hotel which clearly places great emphasis on catering to their guests needs. The staff were almost universally charming and helpful (even before we arrived, they answered lots of questions by email). The rooms were kept spotlessly clean with housekeeping visiting a couple of times a day.||Breakfast was wonderful with the friendly staff even remembering our coffee preferences.||The hotel is also in a great location. Almost everything is walkable to.||I know Madrid well but staying at this hotel just made our anniversary extra special. ||Highly recommend and will definitely stay again. I'm so glad we steered away from the 'chain' hotels and went for this hotel which really is a home from home.|||Thanks to all your lovely staff members!

Lovely experience from beginning to end. Room was large, beautifully decorated.|Service by the staff was friendly and helpful. Liked the feeling of a smaller, boutique hotel. Delicious breakfasts. Great location in a quiet neighborhood. What more can you want?

The hotel is charming, the rooms spacious and well-decorated, and the staff are amazing. We ordered room service on our last night as we were exhausted. They ensured that they made everything vegetarian for us which isn’t easy in Madrid. The daily breakfast was delicious, and included specialty coffee and custom egg orders as well as a lovely buffet. I highly recommend this hotel!

In a world: flawless. This was my second visit to Madrid. I stumbled upon the Hotel Orfila the previous trip while walking around the neighborhood, stepped inside, and knew this would be where I stayed the next time. A year later, here I am. From the moment you arrive up to check out, the staff go out of their way to look after you. Nothing is too much to ask. If they notice you sitting in the lobby, someone will come over to offer a coffee or drink. The property is elegantly appointed from head to toe, exuding old-world charm all the while feeling fresh—not stuffy or kitschy in the slightest. The beds was probably the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in any European hotel, with a generously sized bathroom, well-functioning air conditioning, and importantly, very quiet. Tastefully selected antiques adorn each unique guest room. The restaurant, which encompasses a dining room and a delightful garden terrace, is among the most attractive I’ve ever seen. And a cozy bar sits just off the lobby, the perfect hideaway for an aperitif or nightcap. I’ve found my home away from home in Madrid, and am already anticipating eagerly my next visit.

To start with the location is a block from the Plaza de Colon (Columbus Plaza). It is easy walking distance to the National Library and Museum De Prado. It is a little further to get to the Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace, but we easily did it. The Hotel is not in a loud area so you will sleep well. The steak restaurant across the street was first class and delicious. The Hotel itself was tremendous and apparently a repurposed mansion. This made the layout different from your typical square. The people were friendly, and the breakfast was above and beyond. My wife did not want to leave. I recommend staying here.

Simply outstanding. I have only stayed in in 2 hotels as good around the world - one in the UK and one in LA. From arriving at the very discreet and elegant entrance, to the welcome on the front desk, to the porters, to the wonderful room, fantastic breakfast and stunning outside space. How could one ask for more. I would thoroughly recommend that anyone going to Madrid stays in the wonderful Orfila.
