We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Orfila, the hotel was beautiful. We had a family room, which was spectacular, the equivalent essentially to two connected suites. It was remarkable value too, I dread to think what it might have cost to reserve a similar room in London for example. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, I am afraid to name names because I will undoubtedly leave some out who were brilliant but whose names I have forgotten, but Carlos, Bruce, Leo, Younness, Clemence, and others really made the hotel special.||The hotel has a nice patio at the back, where you can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is dining room at the back which is indoors but adjacent to the patio. There is a small but nice bar at the front. The hotel only has 32 rooms so it was quiet and intimate. The hotel's recommendations for dining out were excellent.||The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the Gran Via. It was quiet area, not busy or full of tourists, but there were a lot of restaurants very close by. The shopping district was very close, and the hotel was well situated for El Retiro, El Prado, and for the centre of Madrid. ||We had our two older sons, so we booked Carlos Sainz karting, which was about 30 minutes in taxi, but well worth it! My son left his mobile in the taxi, but the hotel sorted it all out, they couldn't have done more.||In short, a wonderful stay, and many thanks to all the wonderful staff at the hotel.
