Relais Balcone di Giulietta (Verona, Veneto) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The family-owned Relais Balcone di Giulietta takes its name from the famed balcony on Juliet’s House, a museum in Verona’s old town dedicated to Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers. The house and its balcony didn’t actually belong to Juliet of course, but that hasn’t stopped it become one of Verona’s main attractions, with the hotel also well situated for visiting other major sights such as the Arena, Piazza Bra and Torre dei Lamberti. During the day, you’re surrounded by the lively bustle of visitors, while in the evening guests can unwind and take in the peaceful, evocative charm of this uniquely atmospheric place." - Tablet Hotels

Some guests complained about the location and the hectic surrounding of the hotel, but we loved it and had a great stay. What we loved: centralized location, beautiful room with balcony overlooking the busy pedestrian way (awesome views), private access to Juliette’s balcony after hours (no crowds), great service & prompt communication via WhatsApp from hotel reception, convenient parking space for luggage unloading nearby, room filled with complimentary snacks and drinks! We will definitely be back when we return to Verona. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We loved our stay at the Balcone di Giulietta. Andrea and team were so welcoming and helpful with recommendations for what to see, do and eat in the area. The room was beautiful and spacious—we absolutely enjoyed the complimentary drinks and snacks. Thank you all for an amazing stay!

The room was excellent — clean, spacious, and very comfortable, which really met 4-star standards. However, there were a couple of issues that made the stay less enjoyable. Check-in was not easy. To reach the hotel you need to pass through a big crowd queuing to see Juliet’s house. As first-time visitors to Verona, this was confusing, and it would have been helpful if the hotel gave clear instructions in advance. Also, we had an early morning flight and asked the hotel to help us book a taxi the evening before. Reception was closed until 8 AM, and we were told taxis could not be booked in advance. The only option given was to call the taxi company ourselves, which was difficult as we don’t speak Italian. A private transfer was also not available. In the end, we felt left on our own to figure out an important matter, which was stressful as guests. For a hotel of this category, I would have expected more proactive assistance from staff, especially with something as essential as airport transfers. The stay itself was comfortable, but the lack of support and the confusing arrival experience brought down the overall impression.

If you are visiting Verona, I would highly recommend staying at the Balcony di Giulietta. The hotel is inside the gates of the Romeo and Juliet balcony which is a highlighted tourist site. It can get a bit hectic getting in and out of the hotel during the day when the gates are open for tourist to visit the site but it was worth it. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location of the hotel is perfect, walking distance to restaurants, shops and all the main sites.

If you’ve stayed at 5 star hotels before you’ll be very disappointed. Upon arrival, in order to get into the hotel, we had to push past gigantic crowds of people there to see the Juliette statue. These massive crowds begin at 9 and last until 7 when they lock the gates. After that time, you have a key that you must use to unlock the gates while people on the street stare at you and wonder how you’re getting in. The location to the main square and shopping is great, but the crowds outweigh the advantage. Upon our arrival, we basically received a sales pitch for a few businesses in Verona. One was to buy passes for breakfast at a restaurant in the main Square since they do not have any food on property, which is fine. The other was a perfume store. In terms of the room, it is cute and some have good views of the street or courtyard. However, the bathroom is outdated + poorly lit and if you have mobility issues you will have a problem getting in and out of the tub/shower. Overall, I will not be staying there again.

This was our first trip to Verona, but we've stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world. To say that this hotel is superb is not an exaggeration. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Our room had a balcony overlooking the street and we loved having coffee in the morning and wine in the evening while watching the city. The bed and pillows were perfect. The staff was welcoming and friendly and the private courtyard access was just another perk. The location is fantastic, easy access to many shops, the arena, parks and restaurants. After reading about the ownership and renovation, I feel that this hotel just simply got it "right" and I highly recommend this hotel.

This truly was an experience! The staff was extremely fun and professional. The rooms were amazing, clean and comfortable. The only downside if you really even want to consider it one, is fighting the crowds to see the balcony. I highly recommend this hotel if your looking for a place to stay in Verona!

Absolutely unforgettable stay! ✨ The room was elegant, spacious, and with a view straight out of a storybook, overlooking Giulietta’s balcony. From the moment we arrived, Francesca and Andrea went above and beyond—welcoming us warmly, helping with our bags straight from the car, and getting us checked in faster than I’ve ever experienced. Their kindness made us feel instantly relaxed and cared for. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Verona, making it easy to explore the city’s charm on foot. It was truly an exceptional experience—one that I’ll remember with so much gratitude. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, charm, and that little touch of magic!
