This boutique hotel was absolutely charming. The room was very large and clean and had great lighting with windows that could open. The bed was quite comfortable and the staff was delightful. Would definitely go back should I visit Quebec City again.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was big and very comfortable and big, it had everything that was needed. I got clear instructions for my late check-in, and it was easy to do it. It's very well located, there's a bus line just in front of the hotel.

This place has its quirks and if you have mobility issues where stairs are involved, do not stay here if you cannot get a room on the main floor. Book directly over the phone to discuss this. The front desk closes and the place is locked up at 9PM. If you are arriving after that, let them know so they can leave you instructions for the lock box. If you check in on time and plan to be out past 9pm, make sure that you know which door to come to ( there are 4) and test your key. It's only confusing until you've done it once. Have a gracious staff member show you. My room was very clean with many reassuring uncarpeted and unupholstered surfaces. My view was the front garden and the street and it was always very quiet. I could open my windows. The linen felt very fresh and the bed and pillows were of excellent quality. Very cozy and comfortable. There was a desk, 2 chairs, a TV, a phone, an alarm clock/radio and my bedside table. There was also a big closet with hangers, a table top ironing board and a small good quality steam iron. The bathroom was basic but clean, the shower was easy to use with lots of hot water, great water pressure and a removable point and shoot shower head. The temperature of the room was comfortable. My room did not have coffee, a kettle or a fridge, but these are not things that I use that much. I was only surprised that there was no bottled water, and I missed having a collapsible suitcase stand, but that is a personal preference and I am sure that if I had asked, I could have had some of these. The building is old, so you might hear a few creaks, but overall it was quiet, I never heard other guests. In terms of staff, I was impressed by all the patient personable young people who took care of me at the hotel. All were outstanding, helpful and thoughtful. At first I was mildly alarmed at the idea that breakfast was provided off site via coupons that you receive at check in, but the distance is reasonable, the location, at time of writing, is a café within les Halles Cartier, so there is a big choice and you are only restricted by the café's hours, not by breakfast service, so that is a huge plus. It is right around the corner, just past the historic Henry Stuart house, an extremely pleasant little walk. Fabulous location. Thank you

We spent 3 nights at the hotel from 9/11 to 9/14. The evening of our first night we found half our luggage sitting in a large pool of water that had apparently leaked from the AC unit onto the floor. We alerted the front desk and the solution was towels on the floor to contain the leaking water. This remained the solution for the duration of our stay as the issue was never resolved. We had an additional leak from the bathroom sink which left a puddle of water directly in front of the toilet. This was also never resolved during our stay. And finally, our vehicle was sideswiped in the paid for hotel parking spot in back on Thursday. The tight spots and close proximity of the building behind the spots probably make it 50/50 if your vehicle will be hit by another vehicle. They have camera screens at the front desk pointed at the parking lot but were told the manager wouldn't be able to review footage until Monday - no explanation provided for this delay. We finally got a call on Tuesday 9/17 from the assistant manager saying he couldn't review the tapes - no explanation provided. We asked that he review all of the issues we encountered with the manager and we asked for an email response. None came. Instead we got a call saying nothing would be done and our insurance would have to cover the damage to the car. We were strung along for weeks. Of course insurance will not cover the damage, I will pay until the deductible is met. Very disrespectful assistant manager and manager. We visit QC every September but will never stay here again.

Let's start with the good aspects. The location is really good, you can easily walk to many sights. There are also many restaurants and shops in the neighbourhood. |Staff at reception were really friendly and helpful. |You can also book a parking space (the spaces are limited and there is a fee, but still, this is so valuable in Quebec!).|Our room was ok. The bed was a bit wobbly, mainly due to the soft mattress. A fridge and a kettle would have been great, but we knew there weren't any such amenities beforehand. What we did not know was that there was no desk - if you book a room with a desk you'd expect it to be there.|Cleanliness was ok all in all. I wasn't too happy with the blankets on the bed, they had apparently not been washed in a while. The sheets were clean though.|Housekeeping is available, but only if you stay longer than 3 nights.|What was really annoying was the breakfast situation. The hotel's website boasts: "You will enjoy your luxurious continental breakfast in an art gallery décor, accompanied by the sound of soothing background music reflecting the mood of the place. Fresh fruits, croissants, cold meats and cheese are on the menu for this refined breakfast." Obviously it might be open to interpretation what a "luxurious", "refined" breakfast consists of, but it's certainly not a cup of filter coffee and a cheese and ham croissant at a nearby coffee shop in a dark mall. If I had known that breakfast would be served elsewhere I would not have booked the room. Neither the hotel website nor the ad at booking.com indicates there is a different breakfast location (for guests who have booked cheaper rooms perhaps??? We were left guessing). Guests must be informed of such a situation before they book or at least before they arrive. We had a tight schedule and going elsewhere for breakfast was not part of our plan for good reasons. While staff at the café were lovely and even allowed us to switch to a latte and a slice of banana bread instead of the croissant it's downright ridiculous to describe this as a "luxurious" breakfast. |Given this experience I would not trust this hotel again or recommend it to someone else, even if we were happy with the location.

We had a lovely time here at the hotel and was graciously welcomed later as we didn’t read the booking email for the instructions left for us. However they came and helped us park and get in. A terrific location to walk to old Quebec City and other tourists spots like citadel and plains of Abraham. A modest continental breakfast is served. |Our room was number 12 so upstairs and it was quite quaint and spacious. Bed was comfy. Recommend definitely.

Nice little hotel. Seems well maintained and well run. The continental breakfast was adequate and the dining room was cute. The room was small but charming with antique furniture to match the feel of the building (a victorian era manor). Clean and comfortable.

Quaint place only steps away from Cartier Ave with lots of restaurants, bars etc. The building is.old which adds to the atmosphere. It is lacking in amenities. No microwave not even a coffee maker which makes it not.possible to have a morning coffee or heat up food.left.over from a restaurant meal from the night before or make a cup of tea. They no longer have breakfast included but do provide a certificate for coffee and a croissant at a near by coffee shop.
