The Most Effective On-the-Go Stain Removers

"My first order of business was reuniting with the steak frites I’d longed for from Le Relais de L’entrecôte—but a few bites in, I found myself with a quarter-sized oil stain on said new shirt."

We waited for 1 hour and 30 mins. It was worth it to try the most known entrecote place in paris. The service is very well, quick and responsible. Meat, fries, vino everything were special.

If you’re considering Le Relais de l’Entrecôte because of the hype, save yourself the time. We arrived at 5:30 for a 6:30 opening and the line was already wrapped around the block. After all that waiting, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The concept is fun in theory, no menu, one dish, classic steak-frites. In reality, it felt like a factory line. Every customer arrives at the same time, and the staff rush to flip tables as fast as possible. Service was curt, probably because they’re moving at an impossible pace, but it still takes away from the meal. The steak itself was the biggest letdown. We ordered it rare and it arrived cold. Not lukewarm, cold. For a place famous for just one dish, that’s a hard miss. The frites were fine, but nothing close to justifying the wait or the hype. We were genuinely excited to enjoy a great steak-frites in Paris. This wasn’t it. If you’re looking for quality food or a relaxed dinner, there are far better options in the city without the chaos.

The restaurant opens at 630pm. We reached at 630pm and the queue was already insanely long. We waited for 2.5 hours in the cold before we got a table. I love the salad. The fries was superb. The sauce for the steak was amazing. The steak (done medium) was a little too dry and overcooked to my liking. I would say its delicious but probably not worth the 2.5 hours queue.

The restaurant’s opening time was listed as 6:30 PM. We arrived at 6:36 PM and were met with a waiting line stretching at least 800 meters (we ended up waiting a full 2 hours). We visited on a Sunday evening. The meat was cold and, as we mentioned, not well-done (we ordered it well-done, but as you can see in the photo, it came out completely pink inside). The salad dressing had an unpleasant sharpness, and the greens weren’t properly cleaned. Even though I usually handle spicy flavors quite well, the dressing was so harsh it burned my nose from the inside out. Service was quick and friendly, but the two-hour wait was definitely not worth it. The interior is small yet aesthetic, giving off a classic French restaurant vibe. In the second serving of fries, there was no salt at all, and the sauce had an overpowering truffle flavor. While it started off as a niche, interesting touch, it became unpleasant after a few bites. The baguette and wine were genuinely good. For dessert, we ordered the profiterole; the choux pastry was filled with ice cream instead of pastry cream, which wasn’t a huge issue, but the chocolate sauce was quite bitter and seemed to contain some kind of alcohol. Overall, the experience was average at best. Our rating is 4.5/10. You can see the bill in the attached photo — we honestly don’t think this place deserves its “great value for money” reputation. Anyone planning to go should probably think twice.

It is as good as they say. Simple, quick and extremely satisfying. We had the filet with fries, all cooked to perfection. Paired with house wine and finished off with a parisian dessert. It was a wonderful experience. Keep in mind you will have to wait in the queue, but it moves rather quickly and the food and place are totally worth the wait.

I decided to try Relais de l’Entrecôte after seeing it all over TikTok, and went there for lunch. The restaurant opens at 12:00 pm, and I arrived at 11:25 am, becoming the first person in line. Within just 10 minutes, the queue had stretched all the way down the street—a clear sign of its popularity. The experience is very straightforward: no menus are given, and the servers simply ask how you would like your steak cooked. However, as a tourist, this lack of explanation can feel confusing, since the staff expect you to already know the concept of their set menu. For €35, I got steak, fries, and a cola. The fries were very crispy, the steak was tender, but what truly makes the place famous is their unique sauce—it has a distinct flavor unlike anything I’ve tasted before. That said, the portion sizes didn’t quite justify the price. You receive two servings of steak (roughly 150 g total) and two portions of fries. Contrary to what is often publicized online, it is not unlimited refills—it’s simply split into two servings. The restrooms were clean, and payment was easy since they accept all major cards. Overall, it’s a fun experience to try once, especially if you’re curious about the hype. But with the high price and limited portions, this is a one-time visit for me rather than a place I’d return to.

We arrived 20 minutes before opening and there were already about 100 people in line. After waiting for 2 hours in the cold, we finally got in, but I can honestly say it wasn’t worth the wait. The steak is cooked well and quite tender, but not exceptional in quality, and the fries are just simple potatoes soaked in oil. Even though they offer a refill, it’s basically two half-portions. The salad comes with a dressing made of horseradish, vinegar, and oil. The three stars don’t reflect the two hours we spent freezing outside, but rather the fact that the food itself simply didn’t impress us.

Relais de l’Entrecôte never disappoints. The menu is simple — steak and fries — but done to perfection. The meat is tender and full of flavor, the famous secret sauce is incredible, and the crispy fries keep coming, making the whole experience unforgettable. A special mention to Jessica, our server, who was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and made the evening even more enjoyable with her great service and positive attitude. Even with the busy atmosphere, she took great care of us from start to finish.
