Perfect location! We were less than 5 min walk from Castel Sant'Angelo and not much further to Piazza Navona in the other direction. Very close to shops and many restaurants in the area.

BEWARE! ! ! I believe there were HIDDEN CAMERAS in my room at Relais Palazza Taverna. I was scheduled to stay for two weeks but after 9 days, I had to vacate immediately when I detected what I believe were hidden cameras in my room. I thought I had done what I thought was a thorough sweep of the room when I first arrived. I felt unsafe and that my privacy was violated. Booking.com though responded immediately could not even get me a refund as the hotel did not respond to their emails. I was then told they have a no refund policy. Poor follow up from both places. This was a distressing, disappointing and unsettling experience that left me shaken. Check your room thoroughly if you plan to stay here !

Now the real goods on this place. The room was average. The staff are really good. They will help you out as much as they can. The building is old so the conditions of the rooms are OK. Now to make up for this shortfall. You have decent staff and the location are the strength. You can go anywhere within a reasonable distance. In marketing class they always stress location. If not being too far away from all the sights is important, this is the place. If you are expecting the Mariot, this is not it. We liked it.

First of all, this hotel is very cute, clean and very well located. The area is absolutely charming with lots of excellent restaurants all around. A great area if you like to walk safely and visit this beautiful city.||We were there for 4 nights from the 25th to the 30th of may. We were actually suppose to be there for 5 nights but decided to leave 1 night earlier. ||Why??? It was impossible to have a good nights sleep. While we were there, there was a very loud alarm (crazy alarm like those car alarms) that goes on from around midnight till about 2-3 hours in the morning, and this happens every night, Imagine trying to sleep with this crazy noise, impossible for us even with the windows closed. The alarm comes from the same building and nobody seems to care or wanted to fix the problem. ||We totally had the worst experience ever!||Our stay would have been perfect if not for the alarm. Make sure the problem is resolved before you book. One more thing, if you buy a bottle of alcool like we did for our daily « aperitif » and leave it in the room, just be careful, it seems to evaporate during the day 😉

The hotel is in a great location, but unfortunately there are many issues that made our stay less than pleasant. The overall cleanliness leaves much to be desired with stains on the walls and musty-smelling sheets. There were also quite a few broken items in the room: shower door, soap dispenser, and a shower head that wouldn’t stay up. Additionally, the WiFi was non-functioning throughout the duration of our stay. The bed itself was also extremely uncomfortable, and felt like the mattress was covered in plywood. Overall, a great location, but disappointing stay. To us, it was not at all worth the cost.

If you’re looking for luxe accommodations this isn’t the place. Rooms are really two-star, in need of repair and dark but the location absolutely makes up for it: the best of via Coronari is right outside the door. Plus Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain are all very close and a few more minutes and you’re in Trastevere, Via del Corso, Prati and Vatican City and the Colosseum and more. I love to walk so Villa Borghese, Roma Termini and Parioli were more than manageable. Big caveat however is lack of an elevator so keep that in mind if multiple flights of stairs with luggage will be an issue.

If you don’t need sleep, you can stay here no problem!||Cute hotel tucked away, but walking distance to everything, even a little square where you can have a bite to eat or a cocktail.|Our stay was fine until it came time to sleep, there is an alarm that goes off around midnight and lasts for about 4 hrs.||No one from the hotel can help because there is no one there, they disappear at 5 pm and come back at 9am.||We also bought a nice bottle of rum, we like to have a cocktail in the room before supper, well…. the rum seemed to evaporate on its own somehow 🤷‍♀️||Quite the disappointment!|I do not recommend this hotel.

The place is old-school I guess you have all your basic needs warm water to shower. We had a heater as well as AC. I did have like a wet dirt smell and the walls are to thin could hear everything in the room next door lol. It is in a very good location. Good food all around, public transportation!

Yelp
This boutique hotel was in such a great part of town and it was easy to get to all the places in the neighborhood and the bus stop is just up the street. They were very big on housekeeping. We had to ask 3 times to not give us daily housekeeping. If you like that you will be thrilled. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The room had mold in the bathroom which I found ironic considering the daily housekeeping. The AC worked really well, the bed was comfy and the view out into the courtyard was charming. If you want to get to sleep before midnight or don't have ear plugs the downside is the "bar" on the corner. There were nightly celebrations and car alarms until the early morning hours.

Yelp
Depends on what you are looking for, but I would not recooked this place. I stayed in room 101 first floor. Pros 1. Walking distance 20-39 min to major attractions (Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi fountain, Colosseum, Roman Forum) 2. Remote Air condition 3. Wifi internet 4. Nice staff 5. Cheap 6. Large room with closet, but I would change the horrible wallpaper Cons 1. Outside can be loud and noisy 2. You can hear people walking and talking on second floor 3. Poor room and bathroom lighting!! 4. TV turns on randomly/ Remote does not function 5. Poor ventilation/ moldy shower and head does not stay fixed 6. Metro train station 20ish min walk 7. 10 Min away from bus station 8. Poor airport access - taxi 40 min or metro train 2 hrs

Yelp
This is a lovely hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and the rooms are very nice. They provided water bottles upon request and helped with anything else we needed. We were given Room 102 on the first floor. There's a nice seating area outside the room that's outdoors, which we really enjoyed. The room is very large as well! There were two twin beds, a TV and desk, a nice bathroom, and a closet with a safe! We put our passports in the safe so we didn't have to worry. The desk had a cute tea setup and the tea was great - it was English breakfast. The location is also a HUGE positive. It's situated right near Piazza Navona, walking distance to Vatican City and the Pantheon. There are tons of good food restaurants nearby and lively bars. A few negatives would be: 1. The keys are standard, not card keys. If you lose them, it would be a problem. 2. The front desk is not 24/7. So, if you get locked out after 10 PM, you'd be screwed. Luckily, that didn't happen to us. 3. There aren't many English channels on the TV. Overall, I would recommend this place to a friend!
