Right Now, the people in my team and I should be staying in San Giovanni Relais hotel, a place that I reserved 11 months ago via Booking.com. As it coincides with the San Marino GP, one month ago Booking.com notified me that the hotel cancelled the reservation because, as they claimed, they were remodeling it. When I asked Booking to inform the hotel that I was going to work in the GP and I would surely go and check if that was the truth, they informed me that it was not a remodeling problem, but the rooms were already booked. Obviously, it is more profitable for the hotel to cancel my reserve at a normal price, sell my rooms at an incredibly overrated price because of the GP and put me on a cheap-beach hotel paying the difference. The hotel said nothing more. Booking justified themselves saying that this is none of their business and it is the hotel who has the problem. A really good job on their behalf. Thanks to Booking for defending my interests and also thanks to San Giovanni Relais people for being so disgraceful.
