I have made a last min booking at night arrived with two heavy luggage , there were so many stairs . I have called owner to clarify that i am not able to carry it as a thin girl so please cancel booking , instead he got extremely mad on the phone. İn the meantime another guest started helping me and i managed to carry. The owner came to property and entered inside my room angrily , this incident made me very scared as a solo girl traveller. I felt very uncomfortable, his behavior was much against hospitality culture. Owners of hotels shouldn’t be allowed to enter your room without permission while you are there to show their anger. It was so unacceptable but i couldn’t leave at that point. I do not recommend this place.

Our travel agent could not alphabet booked a better place for us to stay. Perfect location and walking distance to everything we asked for. Matthew and Carlotta were awesome.

We stayed four nights in May 2024, and Relais Teatro Argentina had been highly recommended to us. We found the hotel to be a pleasant stay in a top-notch location right by Torre Argentina. The building is a charming old palazzo with a ton of character, beautiful vintage furnishings, and large spacious rooms. For the location alone, I'd say this place is worth it. Paolo, the owner, and the staff onsite were very helpful and lovely, full of suggestions of places to visit and things to do in Rome. Overall it was a good experience.||Note that there were a few drawbacks, though. For one thing, the old building is a bit run-down and in need of maintenance. The shower only ever got tepid or lukewarm, never hot. The tap in the sink wasn't working properly, and the toilet ran constantly. Two of the four days, our room wasn't made up, for some reason. And the price, given that breakfast was not included, was on the high side, made worse by the fact that they insisted on payment in cash despite having signs out front that credit cards are accepted (and despite Italian laws that require them to accept cards for purchases above a certain amount). We had to waste a couple of hours looking for ATMs to withdraw large amounts of cash, and pay high conversion fees, which added to the price of the room. Then they tried to ask us to go BACK to the ATM to withdraw even more cash to pay the city tax. Whether the hotel owners are trying to evade taxes or simply cut down on banking fees on their end, I think it's pretty egregious to pass this along to the customer, especially given the prices.||If I were to return to Rome, I probably would not stay here again.

Super value for a boutique hotel 5 minutes from the Pantheon. The owner, Paulo, was a wonderful and interesting to talk with host. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and the AC was cold. We had one small issue with our room, after hours, and he quickly came to check it out. We also received a discount by paying in Euros and the bank ATM was just steps away.

Can't speak highly enough about this hotel. GREAT location - centrally located so that we were able to return and take a break in our AC'd room each afternoon before heading back out. It takes up one floor of an old building, next to the ruins where Julius Caesar was supposedly killed. (We didn't even realize this until the 2nd day!) Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet, and dark due to black out curtains. It felt like our little sanctuary. Paulo and Tomas were gracious hosts. We loved our continental breakfast (on small terrace, or in room) - Tomas makes a fabulous cappuccino. The pipes are quirky but that adds to the charm and is to be expected in such an old building. When we return to Rome we'll be using this hotel again!

We stayed here for 2 nights after our cruise. Charming, older building in the middle of everything. 5 minute walk to the Pantheon. We missed out on breakfast both mornings due to an early Vatican tour and an early car they arranged for us to get to the airport. Very accommodating.

I found this hotel in Rick Steve’s Pocket Rome book. It is in an old building (probably 18th c) across the street from a noteworthy archeological site. The hotel offers airport pickup- Rafael, who gave me a great minitour on the drive in. The hotel is on the second floor, there are quite a few stairs. The building is super secure. The room I had was large, the bed comfortable, the bathroom well equipped. Huge windows overlooking a small courtyard kept the street noise at bay. Paolo and Carlotta along with Thomas were kind, accommodating and all spoke excellent English. I found the experience charming and Roman. There are some signs of wear on the walls and the curtains could use some love but they are great blackout curtains. Mini fridge, water, a huge and delicious breakfast was an option I recommend as well. The hotel is very well connected via busses and in a GREAT neighborhood- Campo di Fiore, the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain are all close by as is a grocery store (Carrefour] and a laundromat. There’s a good restaurant downstairs and gelateria around the corner. I could not be happier here.

Our family of 11 stayed for four nights at the Relais Teatro Argentina and enjoyed our stay immensely. There are six beautifully decorated rooms. Staff were thoughtful, helpful, communicative, and patient with the four children in our group. The attention to cleanliness was stellar and appreciated. The rooms were unexpectedly beautiful (my son in law who is 6’7” was particularly in awe of the height of the ceilings), spacious, and the temperature (air conditioning unit in each room) very comfortable. Breakfasts were served on the balcony or in the room and were delicious (something for everyone). Some days we came in early and some days late, but it was always with a feeling of safety and knowing that place we had chosen exuded a touch of elegance and quality. The location is within walking distance of everything we wanted to see in Rome. We recommend the Relais to anyone who may visit Rome and wants to see the city by walking or by bus. It was a perfect spot, and given the high quality of the hospitality, our stay in Rome lives on in our memories as a "trip of a lifetime"!
