I booked a 2-night stay at a property through Airbnb, but it quickly turned into a frustrating experience. Upon arrival, I received no entry instructions, leaving me stranded on the street for over 2 hours. I had to find another hotel to stay in that night.
Despite my attempts to reach out to the property, I received no real help. The host claimed they sent the entry instructions but provided no proof. I then escalated the issue to Expedia, sharing all my communications with the property. Unfortunately, Expedia failed to assist effectively, saying they couldn’t obtain approval from the property manager. This leaves me questioning the level of protection guests have against such scams.
This will be the last time I use Expedia. I will also be advising my 2 million followers to avoid both Expedia and this property in the future to ensure others don’t face the same unfortunate experience. Guests deserve better protection, and this incident highlights the need for more accountability in the booking process.
