Remai Modern

I am a frequent visitor at the museum and attended my first movie/film, the staff at the front desk (I didn't catch her name..) was super helpful and welcoming, directing me to where it was and the latest exhibit. From the walk up to the museum from the river to the museum itself is an awesome walk. The theatre had some awesome seats and the film was great. The views from the window near the theatre offers some amazing views.

I enjoyed visiting this museum, but it didn’t have as many cool and interesting things as I expected. Still worth checking out though, at least one time! You can learn a lot from the writing beside the art pieces and around the exhibits. Entry is by donation, but there’s nothing expected, you can walk straight in. There’s a movie theatre on an upper floor where you can watch whatever they are playing at that time. One of my favourite parts of the museum was being on the top floor and enjoying the views of the river and surrounding area!

Such an amazing place with a lot of the spirit of the original Mendel intact. (though I still miss the Mendel of the past) Incredible that they purchased one of the exhibits from Woodrow! Love being able to see something I haven't seen since 2007! I made a donation before leaving. You should too. Will definitely be coming back.

Had our work Christmas Party here. The food was amazing! I think it was from Hearth, located on the first floor. I took a break to watch a movie at the Sasktel Theatre, browsed the art on the different floors. Certainly one of Saskatoon's more unique places!

My visit to Remai Modern was an incredible experience! This art gallery is a true gem in Saskatoon, offering a thoughtfully curated collection of contemporary art that is both inspiring and engaging. The exhibitions were diverse and well-presented, featuring both local and international artists. I particularly enjoyed the interactive installations, which added a unique dimension to the experience. The gallery’s layout makes it easy to explore at your own pace, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. For travelers planning a visit, here are a few tips: Allocate a few hours to fully enjoy the exhibits and take your time in the gallery spaces. If possible, visit during the weekday mornings for a quieter experience, as it can get busier later in the day and on weekends. The on-site restaurant offers great views and is a perfect spot for a coffee or lunch break during your visit. Also, don’t forget to check out the gift shop, which has a wonderful selection of art books, prints, and unique souvenirs.

This is an incredible art museum! Do not skip it. How often do you expect a Picasso on the prairies? Honestly it is on par with art museums we have visited in Europe and around major cities in the world. It also has beautiful examples from the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, Kenojuak Ashevak, and contemporary artists like Carl Beam and Nick Cave.

I was highly impressed with this museum. Not only does it have a good collection, I was also intrigued to discover that parts of the building itself act as art pieces, making me rethink how museum patrons can interact with an art museum. I highly recommend coming here if you like modern art.

The modern art in store especially by the indigenous artists are worth watching. Enjoyed demonstrations and collaborative art projects too. The staffs were very friendly & the entire museum has a peaceful vibe where you can meditate & fall in love with multi faceted interpretation towards art
