A charming coffee house with beautiful outdoor setting. Plenty of seating. Good for all ages and well-behaved pets. The small birds were a bit aggressive and annoying but manageable. This is likely because guests are feeding them. Yogurt parfait had fresh ingredients and was excellent. Vanilla latte with almond milk was large and arrived hot. Excellent choice for a nice breakfast.

One of the most praised aspects of Rembrandt is its wonderful garden ambiance and inviting outdoor seating area. Many describe it as a tranquil haven that makes you forget you're even in downtown Chattanooga, a perfect spot to relax and unwind with your coffee and pastries. Rembrandt's has garnered a reputation for its freshly baked goods, including delicious scones and a variety of other pastries. Reviewers specifically rave about items like Cranberry Walnut Scone, St. Tropez and freshly baked breads. The coffee itself is consistently praised as being high-quality and delicious, with a wide selection of espresso drinks, lattes, and drip coffee options available on the menu. Beyond the delectable treats and beverages, Rembrandt's is praised for its friendly and efficient staff who contribute to the overall inviting atmosphere. The shop's European flair and charming decor also receive positive mentions, enhancing the overall experience. While some reviews mention potential for slow service during busy times, the overall consensus is that Rembrandt Coffee Shop is a must-visit for its unique ambiance, delicious baked goods, and fantastic coffee.

If I'm anywhere near downtown Chattanooga, Rembrandt's Coffee House is an absolute must-visit for me. The moment I walk in, I'm hit with the most amazing fresh smell of coffee and baked goods — it immediately sets the tone for a great experience. The vibe feels warm, welcoming, and full of character. I love their cozy outdoor seating area — it’s perfect for enjoying a coffee while soaking up the relaxed atmosphere. Speaking of coffee, it might just be the best-tasting coffee I've had in the entire region. It's rich, smooth, and brewed just right. The food is just as impressive. I tried the Mediterranean wrap and the egg and cheese biscuit, and both were packed with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether I’m looking for a quick coffee break, a peaceful spot to get some work done, or just a place to relax, Rembrandt’s always hits the mark for me. Highly recommend checking it out!

I’ve been here on two different trips to Chattanooga and absolutely adore both their pastries and the gorgeous open patio behind the café. The coffee éclair was fantastic, especially since it was served cold and had a strong coffee flavor.

Last weekend, I was on my way back to Atlanta from Tennessee and decided to stop at the Rambrandt’s coffee shop. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing, and the view had a bit of a European vibe, reminiscent of coffee shops in France. I wanted to try one of everything! It was a pit stop I’m definitely going to take a walk along the Chattanooga River, take some pictures, and enjoy the view. The pastry, latte, and avocado toast were delicious.

We enjoyed delicious coffee here and liked Rembrandt’s. Their workers needed a little more staffing though, to help serve people in a timely manner. Everyone who was there though, but their best foot forward! ✨

We walked from Northshore to Rembrandt’s Coffee House to pick up bagels for National Bagel Day. The only had plain and everything bagels so we got plain (hate the bad breath from everything bagels). We added cream cheese and ordered to go. Added a cranberry walnut scone at the last minute and a black coffee. The scone was softer than most we’ve had, but very good. The selection in the case looked amazing and certainly was tempting. They had cute retail items that would make great gifts. The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was clean and simple. They have a lovely outdoor seating area, which we will try later ( too cold and n a hurry to get to work). The Bluff View Arts District is quaint with a European vibe, lots of sculpture and beautiful architecture. We will go back for more treats!

We went for dinner and desserts. I got the caprese sandwich and the cream cheese brownie. The brownie was good but the sandwich was delicious! The employees were friendly and the service was pretty fast. Rembrandt's vibe is just lovely! Sadly the whole patio is off limits currently, where they have much of their seating. I took a photo because the patio is beautiful with all the wisteria! However we had to sit quite far away at another patio that's shared by various businesses, so that was a shame.

Yelp
Since I was in the area with some friends, I wanted to get something small and sweet. But while I was waiting in line, I realized that I was much more hungrier than I thought lol. Rembrandt's has more than just coffee and pastries, but actual food as well! In the past I've always gotten their coffee and it was good, but this recent experience was amazing. I got their Caesar Wrap and their Blackberry Sage Shandy. The wrap was delicious. The romaine inside was fresh and crunchy, chicken was good, and the caesar dressing was tasty. It was the perfect amount of sauce that layered the wrap contents inside yet still wasn't too saucy. My friends got the Firebird and Bluff View Burrito. After trying my friend's Firebird sandwich (which I was also wanting to get as well), I'd definitely come back and order that next. My drink was great as well. It was fruity, refreshing, sweet but not too sweet, and exactly what I wanted for my sweets craving. The iced tea was enjoyable. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Their menu was huge and kind of overwhelming at first, but I was very satisfied with what I ordered. The pastries were displayed so nicely in front. Next time I'll have to get a coffee and pastry. I look forward to coming back here again.

Yelp
Amazing outdoor settings. Large outdoor seating area with live greenery as roof covering. We ordered the coffee eclair, cranberry sconce, chocolate croissant and white chocolate mocha latte. Everything is delicious.

Yelp
I see why this has won Chattanooga's Best Coffee Shop award for so many years. This European-style cafe is the perfect place to roll up with your girlies and get a sip or snack. Things you should know: I. PARKING Limited free street parking. II. SERVICE They offer fresh pastries, chocolates, and locally roasted coffee. There's a self-serve water station. One thing I did find disappointing was the presentation of the coffee. Since Rembrandt's seems to go all-out in esthetics, I was disappointed to have my drink served in a plastic to-go cup and not classy dishware. It just doesn't make sense with the effort placed behind the cafe.. III. QUALITY All locally made ~ couldn't be any better. IV. CAPACITY Fairly busy on a weekday, late-morning. Seating is slim, however I always saw a table available during my stay.

Yelp
A local favorite in Chattanooga. Located in the art district so many cute things around. I arrived around 1ish so very much still lunch time and they were definitely busy. A lot of people were waiting around for their food. One star deduction for parking (sorry my parking anxiety definitely took over). Some many delicious baked goods. I picked up a bag of coffee beans and best choice ever. Highly recommen the Tennessee whiskey coffee. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Yelp
We stumbled upon a charming little coffee spot in Chattanooga, and it's an absolute gem! This place has everything you could want in a café -- it has sweet treats and the best coffee. There's an inviting outdoor patio, perfect for enjoying your coffee while soaking in the fresh air. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it an ideal spot to unwind, and simply enjoy a peaceful moment with your favorite brew. The only problem we had was we ordered iced tea with sugar but the asked me to use sugar packets. I wanted it sweetened by simple syrup or cane sugar.

Yelp
I had not been to family favorite Rembrandt's since they remodeled and changed the menu a bit so Mom wanted to treat me to breakfast here this morning. The place is still so lovely! We walked throigh the courtyard side entrance into a room full of delectable looking pastries and chocolates A few new breakfast and lunch items had also been added to the now digital menu on the wall. The cashiers were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. Mom got the challah French Toast and I decided to get my 'ol fav the breakfast sandwich. Mom's order was huge and looked delicious. She definitely ate every bite with a smile. My breakfast sandwich was just as large and delicious as I remembered, the perfect combo of egg, cheese, and homemade biscuit. The chai tea latte I ordered complimented it well too. We enjoyed dining on the front side of the cafe and visiting with people walking by and their dogs. This place is still such a unique local treasure of an experience.

Yelp
I've been counting down the days until their reopening to have the chance to finally visit this place! We arrived for lunch on a Tuesday to find the lovely and dog friendly patio packed. Thankfully, inside, there was not a long line, and our ordering was quick. Compared to photos of menu items before, the menu offerings have been reduced since reopening. I was glad to see the chicken salad crossaint sandwich ($10) remained, though. We ordered one along with a club sandwich ($13), the Amsterdam Fog drink and cookie combo ($7), and a Tennessee honeysuckle tea ($4). Went out to find a table that had become available on the patio, and our drinks and food were all out to us less than 10 minutes later. This was one of the best Amsterdam (London) fogs I've had. They do tea very well. The sandwiches were good also, and I'm so happy they have light lunch options, but I'd perhaps only come again for cafe drinks and their in-house made sweet treats (which they have plenty of). As many have already commented, it is unfortunate that much of the original interior character was stripped, and what remains looks like a remodel straight from HGTV. In trying to be understanding, though, as time wears on, it's inevitable that buildings will be in need of some kind of update to function efficiently. I'll add my name to the list of people who plead to Rembrandt's that whatever you do, please do not touch the patio and all its cozy charm.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance were incredible! It feels so elegant and upscale to sample their treats and coffee here. I was shocked at how reasonable the pricing was! It is in a beautiful location and so nice to walk around afterwards

Yelp
We were visiting Rembrandt's Coffee House on a busy Saturday night. They had a wide variety of pastries that all looked delicious. I picked the coffee eclair and Nun (cream puff). Since we hadn't had dinner yet, we waited to eat the pastries the next morning. I pulled them out of the fridge and let them warm up a bit. I sliced into each one and they were perfectly filled! The cream was a nice velvety texture. The coffee eclair was my favorite out of the two and had a great flavor.

Yelp
I come here every time I visit Chattanooga. This is the perfect European style cafe to stop at for any meal of the day. I read some reviews saying it was a bit pricy, which isn't entirely wrong. However, the drinks and food here are worth every penny. I highly recommend the firebird and the caprese!

Yelp
A nice corner coffee shop in the art district. We went there on Sunday late afternoon to get a couple of cups of coffee. It's my first time being in the Chattanooga area. We drove in the downtown area to find a crowded place to hang out and ended up in the art district and this place. I like pretty much everything around it. The coffee shop had a nice patio with lots of seating area. The patio and the little alley around the shop reminded me of Europe. We got our mocha and latte in to-go cups so that we could hang out on their patio and then walk around. It had a quite long line to order, yet, they were very fast considering the line. Very friendly people are working here. The taste of coffee was also good. They also had a nice selection of food, however, we were full at that time. I also found a little map of the district. It was a nice touch to show their neighborhood.

Yelp
This is a beautiful coffee shop and probably one of my favorite to visit. It has an outdoor area to sit and relax and enjoy your coffee with a book. It's a very European vibe with absolutely delicious food, desserts and coffee. I've been here multiple times and this time I decided to leave a review to let people know so they should add this to their list of Chattanooga must visits. It usually has a line which took me about 10 mins to place an order. We ordered a latte and affogato. Their almond cookie was also delicious.
google avatar

Chom A.

Yelp
Coffee eclair was heavenly delicious. St. Tropez and lemon bar was great as well. Affogato was good on a hot day like today. The Flora was so refreshing. Service was great. The ambience was amazing. Overall, this is a great spot for an afternoon tea and coffee or a date.
google avatar

Belle A.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood cafe in the Bluff View Arts District! The service was fast and friendly with a smile! We ordered the Amsterdam Fog, Nun Religieuse, the Flora, and chocolate rum ball! We ate on the outside patio under the canopy of trees! What an amazing time well spent after traipsing around Coolidge Park and crossing the Walnut Pedestrian Bridge! It was such a wonderful way to cap off our day of adventure that started with a phenomenal hike with Ryan and Hope from Experience Chattanooga to wandering around the Arts District and Coolidge Park!! Highly recommend this place for a nice respite from a busy schedule!!!

Yelp
Three words describe Rembrandt's - Pastries are extraordinary! Say perfection, the delightful culinary creations are flaky, flavorful and will make you want more. Prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly. I've been to many bakeries and coffee shops but few are as good as Rembrandt's Coffee House. A must when visiting Bluff Arts District and Chattanooga Tennessee.

Yelp
So we had just left Tony's in rembrance is in the same area. You can walk right across the parking lot to get to it. Rembrance is kind of an Italian pastry and coffee shop. They have a lot of things in glass cases, and it looks good, really good. I'm not a sweets fan but I did try to New York cheesecake and it was solid! Everything is reasonable and pretty affordable so you can actually get a few things for not that much money so that's good. Have to wait a little while for the cake to come, which I really wasn't sure why I have to wait for a slice of cake, but that was weird. It wasn't like it was full, when we got there they're only two other people there in line. But, waited about 10 minutes and we were good to go. I will go back to try a different variety of the cheesecake count because they had a couple of them there. They have indoor and outdoor seating so it will be a good place to go ahead and try to order a few things and sit outside. It's a lot of space out there so if it's a good day this is a good move. Also, if you really want to go ahead and plug up your laptop, a lot of people were doing out there as well so it's a really quiet and chill place to relax.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab a coffee or latte, get a sweet treat, or a small meal snack. The lemon tarts are my favorite and are to die for! The crust is tender and the filling has just the right ratio of tart to sweet. They're small, about 4 bites to nibble on along with your coffee or tea if you prefer. I also love the sugar cookies with icing, palmier cookies, and the chocolate truffles, just to name a few. The restaurant sells other items as well. Breads of all kinds come from Bluff View Bakery. The two are actually connected businesses here in the Art District. I love to buy a loaf of the challah bread to take home and make bread pudding with. It's the best bread for bread pudding because it is dense and soaks up the egg very well. If you're looking for chocolates, they sell them here. The chocolates are made on the premises in a different part of the building. There is even a little window to watch them being made. It's very cute for both the little ones and older adults :) Prices are average for the Bluff View Art District area. There is lot parking in front and in the back. Parallel street parking in front, if you're lucky enough to find it.

Yelp
Quaint little place with too many yummy baked treats to choose from. Sandwiches are great too!!

Emma B.

Yelp
I go here every other week. Delicious Caesar salad. Delicious sandwiches. My favorite is the Firebird! Try all of the desserts and all of the coffee! It's just the best of the best. And make sure you get a bag of coffee before you leave.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun little European bistro coffee spot. Picked up a cold brew and some tiny desserts while in town and neither missed the mark. Next time I come back to Chattanooga, I'm gonna make sure to spend some time in their outdoor seating area.
google avatar

Natalya R.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop and it's a vibe! Reminds me of my time in Paris (especially the outdoor area) It's so cute. The coffee was strong and flavorful and let me tell you about their pastries (french kisses) so delicous and the perfect pair for your cup of coffee. The outdoor area is pet-friendly so you can definitely bring your fur babies with you :)

Yelp
Large Drip coffee. Chocolate Eclair and 2 Walnut Toffee bars for my wife and daughter. $19.00 First cup of coffee cold! Second cup warm! Eclair - fair at best! Prices in store double than what is posted on line. Terribly disappointed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Total waste of time and money. Walk the distance to Starbucks!!!!

Farrah N.

Yelp
Excellent coffee and baked good. Delicious cookies and breads. Sourdough bread was great!
google avatar

Yelp
We went for breakfast at Rembrandt's last weekend and it was so wonderful!! The stuffed french toast, the raspberry cream cheese croissant, the cinnamon sticky bun..the coffee. Everything was phenomenal. Thank y'all for such a wonderful, fun morning!

Yelp
Just moved to Chattanooga and I think I found my new favorite coffee shop (& maybe everyone in Chattanooga's fav coffee shop based on the popularity!). This is a charming spot in the art district. Great coffee and pastries! I tried the caramel macchiato while my husband ordered the iced caramel latte. We also got a apple danish to split. Everything was delicious! We'll be back again and again and again :)
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Great. The Caesar salad was excellent even without chicken. The French bread was good and if we weren't planning to hang out in the city more we would have bought more bread. The cafe interior is very cool and the outside is so relaxing. We will be back and definitely recommend to friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Completely redesigned with modern fixtures / flat panels and, in my opinion, ruined the charm. I have been going here for 25 years - we always enjoyed sitting on the patio as a family and watching the birds- and feel let down by this new sterile environment. They also removed from the menu the Italian sodas which my kids always enjoyed, and which I have enjoyed since going here in the 90s, leaving no other similar options except bottled juices. Now we will have to find somewhere else to patron. The old Rembrandts, as a local cultural icon, will be forever missed.
google avatar

Benjamin C.

Yelp
Nice little coffee house with good coffee and great food. I enjoyed the Rembrandt salad, which was, to my surprise, a hearty salad with really fresh ingredients. I also grabbed a coconut macaroon to-go. I ate it later and immediately wished I had ordered another. There is some really nice outdoor seating areas for when the weather is nice. However, it was cold, so the cramped inside seating was the only option. I'd recommend adding some weather enclosures or heat lamps so that even just some of the quaint outdoor spaces can be utilized in colder weather.

Rost G.

Yelp
I don't understand what happened to this place after the renewal, cappuccino now in a small cup only, it is nonsense, you charge for it as a large cup, why is the cup for a latte 2-3 times larger than for a cappuccino, I've been waiting for your reopening , but I won't come back to you anymore ( P.S -I could be wrong, but eclairs used to taste better
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
Located in the Arts District Downtown this is such a great find. Visiting the area my sister in law recommended this coffee shop. I was pleasantly surprised with the amazing cakes and goods. I'm not a coffee drinker but they did have plenty of tea for me to pick from. I absolutely loved there outside patio to sit and relax while eating our sweets. The help was amazing as well. Truly enjoyed our visit
google avatar

Lesley F.

Yelp
Pastries were delicious the only thing was the tiramisu was terrible. Too much rum flavor! The drinks both cold brew and matcha were watered down. Would not recommend for drinks but pastries yes!
google avatar

Randi J.

Yelp
Yehhhhhhh they remodeled SO much better!!!! Now provide stevia and you'll be perfect!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved this place. On our visit to this town we found this place so charming we ate here twice. Hidden away near the art district they have a super menu. I had the buttermilk biscuit with cheddar and bacon. We then ate outside under the trellis. Nice and shady

Yelp
This coffee shop was great! The coffee, food and ambiance was really nice. I got a matcha latte and Ceaser's wrap which was really good. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Sooo cute in here. We stopped by before walking the walnut street bridge. The pastries and lattes were so tasty!
google avatar

Christie G.

Yelp
Really cute coffee shop. Staff was welcoming. I thought the selection of deserts were lacking but the Russian tea cookie was good. And the size of the latte was huge and strong!
google avatar

Ralph B.

Yelp
Love this location and the facility, particularly the outdoor patio which somehow manages to be totally covered and nearly rainproof all with a ceiling of climbing vines. The pastry is excellent and the coffee good. But, they have to figure out how to speed things up. It should not take 15 minutes to get a small serving of what was already cut up fruit or a simple latte - and this was when there was no crowd at all. They just are not efficient in their service or flow, which is why lines can get bad even in non-heavy times of day. I would never go here if I had less than a 1/2 hour to spend waiting for a coffee and muffin. Sure everyone is friendly, but they are slow as well.
google avatar

Molly D.

Yelp
It's in a little unsuspecting building - so I Stood across the street trying to figure out where to go for a couple minutes. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and some pastries - all were amazing! And so low-priced I was shocked. I will be back!
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Love love LOVE this place. The staff is very friendly. Great little spot with a wide variety of pastries, specialty coffees and breakfast sandwiches. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
google avatar

Kristi G.

Yelp
This shop is nestled in between some absolutely gorgeous buildings and has an amazing entrance with no signs posted on it so if you aren't using maps or already know about it you may have a little trouble finding it. There was just a little chic coffee sandwich board sign out front that only had a coffee quote on it. There is a small indoor seating area and a really nice outdoor seating area with amazing views of the water. The baristas were all very friendly and they were quite busy. They didn't have a huge selection of coffee but what they did have was delicious and so was the breakfast sandwich I had! They had lots of pastries, a bit of their own merchandise and several different fresh breads by the loaf for sale. They have their own coffee brand and they have bags of it for sale. It was very clean and relaxing. This would definitely be my go-to weekend coffee place if I lived in Chattanooga and not Florida. I will DEFINITELY be back when I'm up there.
google avatar

Lauren T.

Yelp
Cute little spot in downtown. We went in for a quick lunch and some coffee!! The espresso was really good! All of baked goods look amazing too. I had the grilled cheese and the tomato & artichoke soup. The grilled cheese had truffle oil in it and was tasty. The soup was too creamy for me. Seems like a quick grab and go spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Rembrandt's used to have character and charm, it used to fit the art district perfectly. Now it looks like an HGTV intern was given free reign. They demolished every ounce of character and replaced it with grey laminate floors. Rembrants is now no different than any mid-grade hotel coffee bar. I'm devastated

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Wish I could rate or evaluate the food. Popped in for a coffee at 11am on a Saturday. Waited 30 minutes in a massive line and only saw one person make it through. Line did not move at all. Three employees were working furiously taking orders and preparing food, but things were gridlocked. I abandoned the hope for coffee and decided to use the restroom. Two individual restrooms were in the back. Again, I encountered an overwhelming line. Waited 15 minutes with the "customers" not giving up the seats on their throwns. The others in line were too polite, but I had invested 45 minutes of my day at this point. I started knocking loudly and rattling the doorknobs. No sign of either occupant giving up after another ten minutes. I started pounding letting the occupants know the line was getting worse and they needed to finish up and exit. Finally, sheepishly employees individually left the restroom. These employees spent 25-30 minutes at least avoiding work and occupying facilities intended for customers. I will never return to such a poorly managed establishment where I cannot get basic service due to employees lazily hiding in restrooms.

Yelp
This review is not about their product because it was closed. The hours here show open at 8am and updated a few days ago but upon arriving here they don't open until 10am weekdays.

Yelp
I was on vacation in the area and found this place on yelp. It's in a really beautiful area we were able to find street parking. This building is very beautiful and the place inside is like a dream. You walk in and there is a large counter the menu is on the wall. You order and wait for your coffee. They sell food here and pastries. The price was reasonable and the coffee was good. We ordered a few cookies that were really good. The patio outside is beautiful like a Spanish style. There is a lot of seating here. If you're in the area check this place out.

Kristi P.

Yelp
Delish! Great atmosphere. The barista recommended the Rembrandt specialty coffee and it was exactly what I wanted! Beautiful patio, cute downtown art district.

Tiff H.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to grab something refreshing to sip on while we took a quick break. Rembrandt's was walking distance from the bridge so we ventured over. The line was INSANE. I don't know what I was expecting but I didn't expect to be waiting 15+ minutes to order an iced tea at 4:30pm. To be fair, it seemed like it was a lot of large groups standing together and placing one order so it wasn't as bad as it looked. I had just downed a latte an hour or two ago so I decided to switch over to tea. Waiting on the crowded heated line also persuaded me to order an iced blackberry sage tea - I'm sure everyone thought I was crazy since it was freezing outside. The tea was cold and refreshing. I'll have to stop in again another time to try their food, desserts and coffee.

Taylor B.

Yelp
It is a really cute coffeehouse, but the inside is incredibly small. They have maybe 4 tables inside, and the rest are outside. It is an adorable patio with birds. I waited 30 minutes for a caesar wrap, which was just lettuce and plain chicken.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Good coffee and cafe mocha. Nice variety of baked goods. Great shady outdoor patio.
