I went there for brunch. I ordered the TANG Laksa, fudgy brownies ice-cream and cappuccino. They were delicious. The Manager ie Ms Jo Lynn was warm, inviting and friendly towards her guests, so much so that they were happy to speak with her upon returning from their excursions and would bid her and her team farewell. They sincerely go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home.

This is a delightful home from home run by truly lovely people. Our stay was far too brief but we felt soothed and welcomed all the time. The team were kind and helpful and the building and rooms have great charm and individual character. The little bistro serves an excellent breakfast. Our thanks for a great stay. Highly recommend!

The staff including reception, housekeeping and the bar team, were very friendly and attentive in offering helpful travel tips. The breakfast was exceptional, with a generous variety of local desserts and pancakes that were regularly topped up. The hostel offers a warm and well managed environment.

Beautiful hotel run by beautiful people! Had such a wonderful stay at Ren I Tang, a gorgeous heritage building in the centre of little India. The room was spacious and clean. But the real highlight was the people. Always so warm and welcoming. The breakfast was also such a delight each morning with both western options as well as an array of local foods. Will definitely stay again

I tried food and drink from the bistro today, I am not staying as a hotel guest. A rather peculiar concept combining several elements under the same roof. The house was formerly a storage facility and medical clinic, meticulously refurbished in 2010 and turned into its current form, a bistro operating right next to the museum part which is preserved from the bygone years. Upstairs it’s the hotel, or inn as is known on the shop front. If you look into some of the cabinets, it looks like some jewelry or art pieces are for sale, so very much a consignment shop idea. I like the high ceiling and how airy the space feels, also lots of natural light flooding in. The furniture feels rather retro, but the lighting is quite modern and warm. Many original furniture pieces are preserved as part of the deco, as well as memorabilia from before the conversion. It feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, a world in and of itself.

Located in the midst of Little India Penang, this beauiful heritage inn had been restored from a 124 years former Chinese medical hall. Nearby many food options. A very vibrant area. We stayed in the Family Room which has separate sleeping spaces. High ceiling with fans and aircons. An ensuite bathroom with cemented flooring. Hot and cold water pressure was strong. Hairdryer was provided. No fancy. No frills. Even the bins use old newspapers for waste. The beds were comfortable and the rooms bare but clean. We were in the first floor with steep and narrow stairs to climb. Luckily, there is a lift that saved our ageing legs. Enter the lobby at the ground floor transports you back to the 1950s era. Furnished with many antiques with wooden tables and chairs, the charm and character of this historical place is an unique experience. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Comprised of array of local and western options. They made their homemade bread too. Servers were polite and friendly.

I had a wonderful stay at The Ren I Tang Heritage Inn during the family vacation. My heritage room featured original wooden floors, high ceilings, and period furniture that transported me back in time. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the bathroom was tastefully updated while maintaining the vintage aesthetic. Perfect base for exploring the UNESCO area. Staffs and hosts are friendly !!

Stayed a week here and loved it! Heritage building with Museum downstairs. Breakfast each day was included and fabulous. Great choice of fresh fruit and local foods to try. Staff and rooms were amazing. Right on the corner close to everything you could need.

Yelp
My family of 4 (including two kids: 5 and 4 years) just returned home from a long weekend in George Town and we were so happy with our lodging choice! We were in the Family Room (#2) and really enjoyed it! Do note that the double bed is in it's own room while the two single beds are in what I'd call the main room. We ended up putting the kids in the double bed and my husband and I each took a single. This allowed us a little more space to hang out once the kids went to sleep. The staff at Ren I Tang are FANTASTIC - very tolerant of kids making themselves at home - in fact my daughter didn't want to leave before she could say goodbye. The owners and staff are committed to an environmentally sustainable space and that can be seen in the small details: no plastic straws, reusable glass water bottles, folded paper trash liners, etc. Breakfast is included and for us consisted of great coffee, eggs and pancakes. The lunch/dinner offerings at the cafe were an excellent surprise! I hadn't read much about the cafe but it was wonderful - the fresh produce was on point. Located right in the middle of Little India, it's a super jumping off point for wandering the area: street art, jettys, awesome food, etc. If you're after a unique place to eat and rest your head, this is the place to do it!
