I tried food and drink from the bistro today, I am not staying as a hotel guest. A rather peculiar concept combining several elements under the same roof. The house was formerly a storage facility and medical clinic, meticulously refurbished in 2010 and turned into its current form, a bistro operating right next to the museum part which is preserved from the bygone years. Upstairs it’s the hotel, or inn as is known on the shop front. If you look into some of the cabinets, it looks like some jewelry or art pieces are for sale, so very much a consignment shop idea. I like the high ceiling and how airy the space feels, also lots of natural light flooding in. The furniture feels rather retro, but the lighting is quite modern and warm. Many original furniture pieces are preserved as part of the deco, as well as memorabilia from before the conversion. It feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown, a world in and of itself.
