Perfectly located in little India this place is a total gem. It was a lovingly restored old building so you won't get copy paste rooms but we absolutely loved the character. There aren't lifts but they offer to help with luggage and were such a wonderful friendly team. We even had a member of staff help us find out taxi and get our bags in. The breakfast was also absolutely delicious. If you're looking for a place with real character and incredible decor - stay here

Stayed 4 nights at the Ren I Tang in Georgetown and found it a lovely place to stay full of character and history and the most and wonderful staff who made our stay. Its a lovely oasis to return to after a day out and about, perfectly sited in the middle of Georgetown's old quarter. ||The room (12) was lovely, great bed, large space, so heritage, facing onto the main thoroughfare which made it an interesting place to chill. You could almost feel that its a place that any aspiring author would write there first novel ||Breakfast was lovely and varied and it was nice to feel cared for and that if you needed something or advice it was not a problem. ||Would recommended this place without reservation.

I love this place. I'm a regular visitor to Georgetown, Penang and this is my go to choice for great food, chill atmosphere and friendly service. They pretty much have everything just right: interior decor, menu choice, ambience, high ceilings, tasteful retro-feel furniture, ample space etc. If it's a cold beer, or a gin and tonic ( they have a range of gins) in the evening, this is your place. If you need a cool oasis, a respite from the heat and bustle of Georgetown's Little India - again, this is your place! Well worth a visit- and lastly, compliments to the staff who are all excellent.

This hotel is just amazing! It’s an old Chinese medicine factory from the late 19th century right in the heart of Little India. ||We stayed in the family room as we are 2 adults and 2 children. There was plenty of space, fresh towels every day and high quality toiletries. The building has been restored to capture the architectural and historical elements from the colonial period. I felt like I was transported back to the 1900s. It was like sleeping a historical home or museum. ||The staff are very friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. I can’t say enough about this hotel. We loved it and I wish we could stay for a month. Thank you to the staff!

Fabulous service and amazing location. We were always greeted warmly and assisted with any questions we had. To top it all off, the breakfast every morning was absolutely divine - a huge range of delicious local morsels and happy to take requests! A gorgeous hotel stay we highly recommend.

If you’re tired of the same old generic hotel rooms and would like to stay in a place with character and charm, this is the place to stay in Georgetown. Located smack in the center of the little India district, it’s close to all the other districts in old Georgetown. From the warm welcome to the friendly advice and service at breakfast, you feel at home. The breakfast provided by the way was great, it really filled the spot and even included the local favorite, Nasi Lemak. The rooms are dated, but that’s to be expected in a historical building. Everything was tidy and clean, and wasn’t too noisy at night, as all the noise outside mostly disappears later in the evening. Tip: To get your suitcases back downstairs when you check out, you can use the elevator built for this purpose. Ask the staff where it is.

I stayed here some months ago, and it was wonderful. Lovely and conscientious staff, beautiful rooms and I think my favourite hotel breakfast (the little banana leaf-wrapped packages of fresh nasi lemak were a highlight) ever. It is a quiet haven and on the edge of the bustle - perfectly located (and easily accessible from the airport by bus). I very much look forward to staying again.
