We stayed at the Renaissance as part of a longer summer-holiday first spending a week in Paris and then taking the 3-hour train ride to Aix, where we stayed at the Renaissance for another 8 days. ||We stayed in a spacious family room being two adults and two kids age 7 and 10, and had chosen this location to also celebrate two family members' birthdays, 40th and 10th birthday.||The hotel offered a nice Southern French atmosphere, pool table in lobby area and a bar, as well as the hotel's restaurant (which we tried) and a Michelin 1-Star restaurant (which we did not try). The hotel has a good location just a short walk outside the "old" part of the town. ||The hotel has a great outside pool as well as a adults-only indoor spa. We tried a massage in the spa, which was really nice. We spent every day time at the outside pool, which was great. It varied a bit in terms of amount of people, but we always found space for the four of us and took advantage of the outside bar-area as well. You have to try the french fries - they were amazing. ||The REAL JEWEL of the Renaissance is the staff. We had a lot of conversations and help from the Guest Relations team to ensure we had lots of celebrations for the two significant birthdays and the team really delivered some memorable moments and were so sweet and helpful about everything. We ordered special-made chocolate cake from the hotel's pastry-chef, and the cake was one of the best cakes we've ever tasted! In addition the breakfast staff were also super nice and in particular one man who worked there was super helpful and even noticed when our daughter celebrated her birthday, he brought her a special surprise-plate with food and a sparklers (our daughter was SO surprised).||We will for sure bring home lasting memories from our stay at the Renaissance.
