I booked this room for about 240 USD per night, for 5 nights, due to its very central location.
It was extremely disappointing to find out that a Renaissance hotel, which supposedly in the same tier as Marriot, Sheraton and Westin, had hotel front desk staff that barely spoke any English.
Once we went to the room (King room, City view) , we realised that it was very small room. According to Agoda, it was a 42sqm room, but it was much smaller than another hotel that we had stayed in Shanghai, that was 37sqm. It was a cramped room with barely any space for luggage, and a low ceiling that made it even more claustrophobic. There must be some misrepresentation online about the size of the room.
The bathroom only had a single sink, instead of the usual his and hers sink, and it was packed very tightly into this rectangular cubical, eith barely sufficient space for 2 people to move around.
As for the things I liked, the R bar at the hotel lobby. They had a one-for-one happy hour from 7 - 9pm at a great price, and their cocktails are artfully made. The bar and their complimentary local bar snacks, were a nice little touch. The dim lighting in the lobby area, may be a choice that Renaissance decided for the vibe of the hotel, but it does help with the energy at the bar area.
The only great thing about the hotel, was it's location. But I would not recommend anyone to stay here, as it was not worth the money to stay in a cramped room, despite being a brand name hotel. I'm quite sure there are better hotels in the vicinity around the same price range.
