Stayed for 2 nights to attend to business meetings. Pick-up from the airport was prompt; arrival at the hotel was met by very enthusiastic and attentive staff. Visually, the hotel lobby is very interesting as is the room. However, this was marred by assignment of a room that had a faulty door lock - that prevented entry and required my visiting the front desk 3 times until they elected to assign me a different room. Admittedly, I was not too pleased as I had just got in after a long flight and was fairly tired and hungry. Ate at singular restaurant (Wan Li) that was open for dinner. Food was expensive and not particularly tasty - but looked pretty. Assigned room was well maintained - everything worked well, re: climate control, wifi, outlets. Bathroom was larger than average but door to lavatory could be better placed as to not block the entrance to the bathroom when opened. Breakfast buffet at the Food Studio provided a decent but not large variety of foods - that were of modest quality. On site spa only served the women clientele - hmmm. Overall, the hotel seems to be holding the standard for a Renaissance; everything worked well enough despite its age - best feature is its location.

This was a very solid hotel to stay at overall. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The layout of the rooms are well thought out. Excellent location and very central to all the attractions nearby. There is a train station the national art museum which is very close by (few minutes walk) and super convenient. Would stay here again!

Nice, modern, clean and well appointed hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Receptionists try hard to please albeit a language barrier. Housekeeping was exemplary - they often asked us at what time our rooms would be free to clean. Great location - 2 blocks north of the posh shopping malls and restaurants along Wangfujing St, within walking distance of the Forbidden City and local restaurants (Donganmen Ave), and a block south of the National Art Museum. Breakfast buffet downstairs was excellent with great variety and fueled us up each morning.||Our major complaint is their room reservations and assignment process. We booked well ahead of time and requested connecting rooms which we understood were not guaranteed. On our first night, we were given two separate rooms on the same floor and were told we could have connecting rooms the next night. However, one of the connecting rooms we were given smelled real bad of cigarette smoke even though it was non smoking. They tried to clear it up by opening up the windows and providing air purifiers, but they did not help. So we ended up with two separate rooms on different floors for the remainder of our 5-night stay, which was not convenient for our family with children. You would think they could plan it out better to ensure we, as Marriott Titanium members, could be provided clean connecting rooms.

For months, we debated whether to stay at the Hilton or Renaissance. As a Hilton Diamond, there was a good chance we’d get upgraded a suite (as we have at all our many Hilton stays throughout China).||However, the Renaissance kindly emailed a reminder that we had to reserve Forbidden City tickets a week before. As a Titanium, I asked if we could get upgraded to a Forbidden City view, and Guest Service Manager, Wendy Zhang, immediately emailed me back that she did. As an empty nest couple, we always prefer a nice view over a suite.||We really enjoyed the view (much clearer after a rain) from our 12th floor room (1207). It was only a little less than from the lounge on the 17th (there are no 13th or 14th floors). We could see the vast size of the Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square, Jingshan and Behai Parks, and the Hutong below.||Our room was spacious, luxurious, clean, modern, and comfortable. The bedding was great.||The hotel is in a great, central location.|It is a 5 minute walk to the northern part of the Wangfujing pedestrian street. The hotel is a lot closer to the northern (exit) end of the Forbidden City than the southern (entrance) end. After exiting the Forbidden City, we walked back to the hotel in 15 minutes. There is a Family Mart across the street, and food stalls and restaurants close by.||Breakfast was OK.||The lounge was also OK. Many nights it was full, with only small, high tables in the corner available. The food was OK, but couldn’t compare to the delicious, inexpensive food in the Beijing restaurants.||We interacted little with other the staff, but had no major issues.||Siji Minfu, one of the recommended places for Peking duck, is a 5-minute walk away, again at the northern end of Wangfujing Pedestrian St. We had a 3-hour wait, but one can get number, follow the wait on their app, and wait at the hotel or walk the street.

This was my very first trip to China, and nothing could have made it more enjoyable and memorable than the warm hospitality and helpfulness of the staff at Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing.||A special mention goes to Mr. 国皓源 ("Xiao Peng") from the concierge team. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay in Beijing. Every day, he checked our itinerary, helped us call restaurants to secure reservations, and confirmed that the attractions we wanted to visit were open. He even took the extra step of messaging my husband daily to check if we had arrived safely at our destinations, making sure we were always on track and safe. On our departure day, he offered to come to work earlier just so he could buy us the famous soy milk (豆汁) before we headed to the airport. Such thoughtful gestures truly touched our hearts.||The restaurant staff on Level 1 were also excellent. They remembered our room number and group size, and when I had a sudden coughing fit, a kind middle-aged gentleman with glasses immediately ran over with a cup of water for me. That level of attentiveness is rare and deeply appreciated.||The hotel itself was also wonderful — the bed was extremely comfortable (we fell asleep instantly every night), the rooms were spotless, and housekeeping did an excellent job throughout our stay.||Overall, the staff made us feel so well taken care of, and we will always remember this trip fondly because of them. Thank you, Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing, for an unforgettable stay!

The hotel is located between two subway stations, each about a 10–15 minute walk away. Wangfujing Street, with its wide range of dining options and vibrant atmosphere, is around 15–20 minutes on foot. While there aren’t many restaurants immediately near the hotel, the convenience of Wangfujing makes up for it.||The lobby is beautifully designed, evoking the charm of an old bookstore. Our room was spacious, with a large walk-in shower featuring a luxurious rain shower. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s rest.||The front desk and lobby staff were warm, welcoming, and consistently courteous throughout our stay.

It was a great experience. I booked the Sleep Well room without knowing it didn't have windows. Was informed upon check-in but Iris and Luna was very accommodating. Thank you.

Greetings! Here is a short review of the above hotel. My family, consisting of my parents, wife and three children went to Beijing for a short holiday from Monday to Friday, 16th to 20th June.We flew into Beijing through Daxing International Airport and simply took 2 taxis to the hotel, located at 57 Wangfujing Street. A mistake.2 taxis and we ended up with 2 different fares, though we arrived at the hotel three minutes apart. I paid 197 yuan and my parents and son, who were in the other taxi, got quoted 400 yuan. After some “discussion” along the hotel driveway, we managed to agree on 260 yuan. Concierge (Navigator)Here, we were grateful to Colin, a member of the navigator team, for helping to explain and calmly helping to defuse a potentially ugly situation between the taxi driver and myself as I was indignant that this taxi driver was trying to fleece my parents. A piece of advice is for anyone who is thinking of taking a taxi, suggest you agree on an upfront fee to minimise any dispute. An alternative would be to use DiDi’s premium service. This was the option which we used after this incident and there were no further issues during our stay in Beijing. Kudos to Colin for this.Kudos also to his fellow navigator, Tom, who was most helpful in finding us a driver of a private van to bring us to the Great Wall (Mutianyu) and back to the Renaissance. He even ensured that we were well-stocked with bottled water and huge hotel umbrellas. The water and umbrellas were indeed much appreciated when we went up to the Wall under the scorching heat on 17th June.Thank you once again Colin and Tom!Much appreciated.ReceptionRita was helpful and welcoming when we arrived and she helped us get a room (1611) even though we were at the hotel at about ten in the morning of 16th June. Special mention has to go to the housekeeping team of both 1611 and 1231. They did a wonderful job of keeping the rooms nice and clean. Thank you for your care and meticulous touch!Club Lounge Would recommend that you get access to the Club Lounge when you stay at the Renaissance. We took advantage of access and enjoyed breakfast, tea, light dinner and even drinks. Yes, we were spoilt by the generous amount of food and drinks from morning to night. One could simply stay the entire day to eat and drink to one’s content at the Club Lounge. The food was generally good and the variety was sufficient. Tsingtao bottled beer somehow tasted fresher and was more enjoyable. This, along with the red wine (Shiraz- smooth and very drinkable) were my daily drinks. You can even get cocktails and we enjoyed Tequila Sunrises and Long Island Teas. These were made by Chloe and she was helpful and attentive to us. We would also like to commend Chloe’s two female colleagues who were wearing round, metal-rimmed glasses who also were attentive and helpful to us at the Club Lounge. (Could someone help us to get their names published here too? It would be much appreciated!)SummaryOverall, if you are looking for a hotel which is at the Wangfujing area, you cannot go wrong with the Renaissance. Remember to consider getting Club Lounge access to enhance your stay at this lovely and conveniently located hotel, staffed by attentive, polite and helpful members of the Renaissance team!
