"The Renaissance Cancun Resort & Marina opened in 2019 as the first Renaissance property in Mexico. This 169-room hotel has a slightly removed and very walkable waterfront location in the affluent 800-acre community of Puerto Cancun, just south of the rambunctious Hotel Zone, but the vibe here can still be very lively. Rooms and suites are snug at 336 square feet and have modern contemporary decor that echoes the best of the Renaissance brand. Expect balconies, picture windows with views, loveseat sitting areas, and walk-in glass showers with rainfall showerheads. Bottled water is free, but minibar service and Wi-Fi will incur fees (Wi-Fi is free for Bonvoy members). This is an excellent and affordable non-all-inclusive option with two restaurants on site, a 24-hour gym, and access to a nearby golf course. Guests also have free entry to a beach club within walking distance, and the hotel’s location is ideal for catching cabs to the middle of the strip." - Katherine Alex Beaven Katherine Alex Beaven Katherine Alex Beaven is a Los Angeles-based travel, food and drink, and culture writer. We had such a great stay at the renaissance! The room was clean, well kept, and modern. Everything worked very well (internet, AC, and shower)! The location is very convenient on this quiet marina with lots of food options around. The real highlight was the beach club! The hotel gets passes for visitors. We stayed for 4 nights and never had a problem obtaining a pass. The beach club has comfortable beach chairs, multiple pools and very reasonably priced food!

Excellent on all counts. Moises took great care of us throughout our stay. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed comfortable. The food was delicious . We loved the breakfast buffet. We had a lovely view from our balcony. Thank you for everything

Fabulous stay at the Renaissance in Cancún. New property and great location adjacent to Marina Puerto Cancún—lots of restaurant and shopping options, and easy central location for getting to different parts of the city. Room was spacious with a great view. Friendly housekeeping staff.||Brunch food was yummy, just did it one day as there were great cafes in the mall next door.||Waitstaff working pool deck was not paying attention at all—sat for over 90 minutes waiting for service to come by. Never got a towel after I requested one. ||Would definitely recommend—great value compared to the beach resorts. Much better calibre Renaissance than any I’ve stayed at in the US.

This is one of the nicest hotels with the best service I have ever experienced. The breakfast is fantastic as was our lunch experience. Moises was a standout at the hotel offering my friends and I attention to every detail. Highly recommend a stay here. 5 stars all around.

Our stay at the Renaissance Cancún put my dreams to shame 😁. I had dreamt of an amazing vacation with my family but this turned out to be an AWESOME vacation. |The food was fantastic, very tasty and plentiful. The service was fantastic… shout out to Andre, Luis, Gilberto and Nelson. The planned activities were on time, full of fun and money well spent. Shout out to Ingrid, Quennie and the providers we used. |I will make a return trip and I will definitely be staying at the Renaissance Cancún. |A heartfelt thank you to the staff I did not mention as everyone ensured our time here was fantastic.

We stayed at the Renaissance with the whole family over the holidays for 2 weeks and our stay was perfect. Not only is the hotel beautiful, but the entire staff is exceptional! Thank you for the excellent service to Felix, Nefertari, Gilberto, Moises, Jorge, Nelson, Monserrat and Ingrid. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. Thanks again and you'll see us again in February😊. Johanne and Vincent from Montreal. Take care guys.

The Renaissance is part of the new Marina in Cancun just north of the hotel zone. The Marina is a gated community with a shopping center, many restaurants, hotels, a beach club and housing. It is absolutely beautiful and worth visiting. The Renaissance is a very nice hotel. It is extremely clean and upscale and has great products and amenities. I highly recommend using the beach club, it has one of the best beaches I have seen. We ordered 8 drinks and with the tip it was only $45 USD. The breakfast is a must! The food was so good and the staff is very helpful and friendly. It is a well known breakfast place to the locals and the weekends are really busy. If you are lucky, which I was not, you can get a view of the Marina. I looked at the top of the parking garage for the mall, not very attractive. I would stay here again any day.

Google
This hotel is dressed to impress but has several areas to improve. The hotel amenities are overpriced. The shuttle service is unreliable. Everyone expects tips for the slightest effort. The rooms are nice and clean with spectacular views. I personally did not find the bed and pillow comfortable. The surrounding areas, especially the restaurants are excellent. Nice shops and close distance to most things. The pool at the hotel can get overwhelmed easily.

Yelp
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. While it may not be on the beach, it is in the marina, which is a great location in itself. The room was clean and very modern. I love the decor, and especially love the coral night light on the ceiling. That was a cool touch! It is spacious and has a balcony. My remote battery wasn't working when I came in and the TV did not have a manual off button that worked so I napped with the welcome message playing. When I did speak to the people downstairs they sent someone up with a new remote in a couple minutes. This location is very convenient as it is connected to the mall and marina. You can go for a walk and it's very pretty in the evening. The mall has a lot of food places and shopping. The only downside was that the pool was small and did not have a lot of seating but it was nice. In the evening they had a DJ and the pool lit up!

Yelp
No you're not at the beach. But this is a great location for hanging out with locals, shopping, dining, and getting out on water. The breakfast buffet was the best I've had in years. Local fresh Mexican cuisine plus American favorites made fresh. But also European level bakery items (warm croissants being brought out a cheer in the dining room) and extensive cheese and meats. Great orange juice- like we had to ask what was in it! Beautiful decor though out. Design details everywhere. Comfortable bed- on firmer side with very soft fluffy pillows. Mall next door is connected by walkway outside or in. Lobby par and boutique pool overlooking marina. Great price and easy soft landing from airport. We will move further south to an all inclusive later. But what a great spot to start or end your beach vacay. Literally my only two complaints was the clear glass door to toilet (like why even?!) and hallways were a bit musty.

Yelp
A beautiful, clean, and well appointed hotel. The rooms felt luxurious, the bathrooms had expensive Aveda bath products. The interior designer of this hotel is seriously talented with an eye for small details. This hotel is located adjacent to a large and convenient high end shopping mall with lots of stores to browse and restaurants to eat.

Sharon C.

Yelp
This is a great hotel in Cancun. The staff is nice and helpful. You're not at the beach but you're at the marina is also nice and if you want they will take you to the beach. There's a nice mall right down the hall you don't even have to go outside though outside you have a nice view of the marina. The malls tons of shops and restaurants

Yelp
So, I do like this place. It's economical, the staff is great, and the rooms are nice and comfy. They have a lot of amenities, including a gym. Speaking of so called gym. They want to make sure you are well hydrated after a 5 It's cheaper to have plastic cups and a dispenser where you get water from a dispenser and I guess they put lemon and grapefruit and acid in the water. Maybe the water was not filtered, and somebody used tap water to fill it which if this is your first time coming to Cancun, your stomach is not ready for the water. Heck, mine barely is. Welp, my poor brother, being a man, downed two cups of water went to take a shower. Got out and his stomach immediately sought to get rid of the offending bacteria. Let's say it that way, but we know what that entails. That was Sunday. I ended up laying out by the pool and watching Netflix the rest of the day. He only drank water all day. He still hasn't eaten. No Bueno. I'm really conflicted on when or if I'll be back.

Yelp
Overall we had a good stay. The hotel hosted our event of the Motosurf World Cup so I'm sure they have a lot of extra people then usual. With that being said there could have been more seating but I think we just had a lot of people there for the event. Bedroom provided ALOT of clothing storage space, beds were comfortable, a ceiling fan, daily room service (possibly twice daily on several occasions without asking), the rooms were just lovely overall. The staff were all very welcoming from cleaning crew, front desk, Gilberto and Moises always there for you when you needed help with bags, transpiration or a friendly face. There is an excursion office located in the hotel just a little off from the lobby. 3 kitchens to order from inside the hotel as well. (Common area) Located on the 12th floor there is a beautiful Gym with separate men and women sauna and indoor jacuzzi. (S floor) meeting and event rooms The hotel is conveniently located next to a shopping mall with plenty of dining options, shopping, OXXO (similar to 711), movie theatre, zip line, food court up top, a gym and so much more. We honestly went out to dinner every night here. ***** DO NOT GO TO Catina Kitchen Lat. 20. They literally looked at us Americans and saw dollar signs and made ordering extremely difficult as if they've never dealt with tourists before. We even spoke Spanish and the entire meal was just a really bad experience. *** Highly recommend CAO and Montemare Everything looks high end and food quality is, but the prices were so cheap it was just a fantastic experience to splurge with amazing meals and not break the bank. Masks were still worn around dining room and buffet, other than that not necessary. They have a little shop in the lobby that's nice for minor things and those forgotten items. Don't ask them to change the color or bend down extra, she gave me attitude because I asked her for a NON pink toothbrush for my boyfriend "bro your really going to make me bend down again" .... Bro?!? (I'm a female and by no means a bro) I couldn't believe it more funny than anything. This hotel is more of a business luxury vibe, not a Cancun party hotel. Yet very nice if you like to come "home" to tranquility. Thanks for hosting all of us!

Yelp
Beautiful rooms and private beach with great service. Marriott wins over Hilton for the Proximity of the beach service and same price.

Yelp
This is a hotel adjacent to a Marina which you can't get in unless you have a yacht. Nice view, overpriced rooms, they're insanely humid.. LIKE SOMEONE ELSE WE HAD NO hot water for 2 days. They dd fix it, you complain to front desk and they ask, so did they fix it or no? Shopping mall has better variety of food than Kaajal and Nuup, their restaurant and coffee shop which gives you diarrhea every time you drink their absurdly acidic coffee. But a "latte" or sewer water and a pasty for 67 pesos its ok around 3.49 usd. Bar is slow, expensive, drinks are worse than America. Loud electronic music, no more than 1-2 people ever which is good to some but this place is like a retirement home. You never saw anyone here under 40s. Room spacious on the 6th floor, many connected rooms which of course you can hear when they're celebrating their cancun visit. Black out curtains are 10/10 due to it being very bright. Jacuzzi does not work at all, not for 4 days. When you get in the pool, the shade will cover it until almost 4pm. Which sucks, and even if you're int here 10 pool chairs you wont get any sun. Around 3 hours of ok sunlight in the pol, the pool is super cold. The alleged jacuzzi on the 12 th floor didn't exist to us, you have to call 30+ mins to call so they can warm It up and even then they said its warm not A HOT JACUZZI SOOOOO they completely advertise stuff which doesn't meet the Marriott Bonvoy promise. Don't get me started on management, Edgar wanted to get a copy of our passports? For what ? No Marriott or international hotel has ever done that. Then you offer an ID and they have a face. They continue to scan this ID too, why? They don't explain.. Their restaurant Kaajal has construction going on outside so you can't eat at peace with a nice view. They accommodated us inside and served us. Menu is ok, american prices, nothing cheap or authentic in any type of flavor. Standard Chili's, or tex-mex flavors. In our visit 1/9/23 our wait took our order and thought we ordered appetizers, (idk who has a club sandwich meal with fries as an app and a tomato soup which was about 2 cups? HUGE SERVING. ) We had also ordered tuna ceviche, but ordered items all at ONCE instead of appetizer then entree. Time went by, we finished our food, 30 mins pass by and we are in search for the waiter, we asked 2 other workers. He finally comes back and says are you ready for your entree? Sir it's been 30 mins, we need to leave and check out of the hotel. He says the food is ready and will bring it right out, if it's been ready for 30 minutes we don't want it. But we are also full and tired of waiting for our food. The waiter agrees and leaves. I assume a manager comes? She doesn't present her self, she stares awkwardly at us as she interrupts us by standing without saying anything. She asks us to explain what the situation is. We do, she states that the kitchen expects someone to pay for it. I say, do you expect us ? We waited over 30 minutes for our food when it was supposed to come all at once. Not once did he come and check up on us and asked if we were ready, or even drop it off at his own will. I had to ask 2 other employees to please get his attention. She stares blankly. I ask is there a problem? She says don't worry we will pay it out of our pocket and then walks away. Was this conversation needed? Did this need to occur, could they not solve it between themselves? Why did she need an explanation? Last but not least is their change in pricing without notification. My confirmation and check out statement says one number, my credit card says another. You call the hotel for a folio and receive none. That is after you ask them to print it out and they say it will be in your email. It wasn't. I would encourage all Marriott Bonvoy members to not visit this establishment as it is not up to par with their standards.

Yelp
Great hotel with great staff. The decor is very modern. I usually stay in Hilton hotels and this is my first time staying at a Marriott and I will be back. The room was spacious and comfortable. The rain shower in the bathroom was great and the water was very warm at all times. The views were amazing. Puerto Cancun is very safe and the mall adjacent to the hotel has some great stores. The security is on point. Two thumbs up.

Myrtha A.

Yelp
The customer service was phenomenal. Starting at check in the agent was excellent and patient . We were treated with respect. The hotel breakfast buffet was delicious we had the same waiter Fernando great dude. So respectful and nice. I am a slow eater I didn't felt rushed. My stay here great. The only thing we wished we voiced was the tub had mildew and stainless steel shower was moldy , the comforter had stains. Beside that everything was superb

Jordan M.

Yelp
Probably the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at, and I have stay at many. I found blood and other stains on my bed upon getting to my room. I called Marriott and asked to speak to a manager. He came upstairs and said that the best he could do was give me a few free drinks and change my sheets.... It took them AN HOUR & A HALF to change my sheets. I had not slept in 16 hours and was exhausted. I told the manager I wanted a refund and he had the audacity to refuse the refund. I'm a bovoy member on top of all this!! DO NOT STAY HERE.

Brett D.

Yelp
Beautiful and very, very clean. This is a breath of fresh air away from the dilapidated, cheap resorts nearby in the main hotel/resort area. Yes, this hotel is not directly on the beach, but so many of "beach resorts" are all-inclusive with mediocre or bad food and run down rooms that are perpetually dirty. This hotel has a great buffet breakfast with high quality food, and beautiful clean rooms. There were desks in the rooms so I could get work done. Everyone working at the hotel was fantastic, but I was especially impressed with Andrea, who checked me in at the front desk and helped me with a number of issues (including a late checkout). She's wonderful. The hotel is right within a nice shopping area and also had great views of the marina from a high floor. I would absolutely come back to this hotel.

Don D.

Yelp
It's places like this that remind me why it's worth it to be loyal to Marriott. For starters, this hotel is gorgeous. It couldn't be situated any better. The proximity to many high end, and mid tier casual restaurants is perfect. There's also a first rate movie theatre and shopping right next door. It's also extremely safe and secure, with multiple security checkpoints just to access the property from outside, order a taxi, or drive in or out. The floors and elevators are also keycard accessible only. The service is some of the best I've ever received at any hotel anywhere. The Ritz brand included. No joke. From the minute I arrived to check in, Ingrid, at the front desk was a delight. She was very informative explaining the property, amenities, restaurants nearby, etc to me, answered all my questions (with a smile and such a sweet demeanor), and gave me the best upgrade I've ever received at a Marriott property. Without me even having to ask. I walked into my room and it was a sprawling corner unit two room suite, with a wrap around balcony over looking the marina. Jaw dropping views and sunsets. I was in heaven. The cleaning service was INCREDIBLE. Each night returning to my room felt like I was checking in for the first time all over again. Everything was spotless, neatly folded, and clean as can be. I think my ONLY complaints about this entire experience, and they're not even big complaints, were that the hotel has an a awesome coffee shop in the lobby area, with plenty of seating, but zero electrical outlets to plug in and work on your laptop. I wanted to work from here in the mornings but was unable to because of the power issue... so had to work from my room instead. The other is the music in the hotel lobby, bar, and pool area. As a music professional, this might just me being picky, but it was all over the place. And not in a good way. Genres would be switching up song to song, with tempos and energy bouncing up and down like crazy. It sounded like somebody was running "shuffle" on their Spotify playlist. The next day would be completely different. Not a huge deal just something they may want to take into account. Other than that I can't recommend this hotel enough. It will be my new go to for my yearly work trip down in Cancun. 11/10

Latrese P.

Yelp
First off, my flight was delayed so I arrived a day late. Although I sent a message through the chat, I can tell my reservation was cancelled; however, my reservation was honored! What a blessing because I didn't have a back up plan. This was a my 50th birthday trip so cake and decorations were brought to my room along with a card. Everyone and pleasant and had a smile on each interaction. Our room and common areas were clean and housekeeping came everyday. The view of the Marina from my balcony was nice. They offered COVID testing onsite to return to the US, but the hours didn't work for me as it was 2 hours mid-morning and I already had excursions scheduled daily, but I was directed to a company at the mall attached to the hotel so all is well. If I ever return to Cancun, I'd definitely book again.

Sophie E.

Yelp
This hotel was clean, had friendly/helpful staff, beautiful view and was also conveniently connected to a mall. The staff helped us anytime we needed our luggage in/out of vans and up/down from our room at the hotel! The view from the rooms was amazing & rooms were nicely decorated as well as very clean. Being connected to a mall, there are lots of different restaurants and bars in it/ near it (in walking distance!)

Jennifer L.

Yelp
100% recommend this hotel for a nice relaxing vacation. We stayed in the 4th floor Marina View with a nice view of all the marina. It's connected to a huge shopping plaza with good restaurants as well. All food shown is from the hotel restaurant Kaajal during breakfast. We chose our hotel reservation option to be breakfast included which 100% recommend. All the employees are amazing the chef Mario is so thoughtful and really enjoys what he does, it was nice to see him around breakfast time interacting with all the guests. The food had insane amount of flavor everything was so delicious I easily had 3 plates every day cause 1. Everything is so good and 2. Im on vacation! Overall everything is very well kept and clean, Definitely will come back for another stay at this beautiful hotel.

Yelp
Hello All, So I usually only leave reviews for food spots because I'm a fatty, but this experience deserved a few words. So here it is. So If you are looking for a hotel without all the hassle, this is the spot for you! This is a nice spot for those who want to do your Cancun thang away from the party scene. The hotel is beautiful, but the staff was unbelievable. I'm talking about graduates from the Chick-fil-A School of Customer Service. These folk knew our names and in the hotel restaurant Kaajal, they even knew our orders. The food there was great especially breakfast. Aside from the amenities, this place is connected to the mall where you can get whatever it is you need including convenience store items. Every tour you select will pick you up and drop you off at the door. I know everyone wants the beach front, but you give up on quality. This place has its on beach area that they transport you to. This area is just as high quality as the hotel. When I go back, I'll be staying here.

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
I will definitely go back. My family and i felt very welcomed and safe while visiting this hotel. This is definitely a place to stay if you want a nice relaxing stay. It has a gym with a great view and a pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful when i asked for directions. You have a mall right next to the hotel with many department stores and restaurants. I recommend getting the all inclusive breakfast the food is delicious and everything very flavorful. So much variety of tasteful and traditional dishes from Cancun and surrounding cities created by the kitchen's Chef Mario Burgos and his team. I will definitely go back and i recommend this hotel 100% my family and my experience was great.

Yelp
After the first 2 days without hot water I can say that the stay got better... Still no hot tube use outside due glass damage from the hurricane. The front staff has to be called for the jacuzzi on the 12 floor, because they have to add water to it and ask for it to be at least 43 degrees, so it's hot. Thanks to Iliana & Diego for making us feel comfortable and addressing our concerns. The restaurant inside is Kaajal and the best item on the dinner menu is the sliders & fries. The staff is so kind!!! That's what helped to change our mind about this place. Connected to the property are several restaurants and businesses. We enjoyed CAO and Aldo's. The shuttle to the beach is not available on Monday's. It runs every 2 hours.. The bar area in the afternoon is nice. Music, drinks, and the pool. Ask for the complementary mixed nuts. We had dinner by the pool on the 1st night thanks to the management. This really should be a 5 star property even with the construction that's in the area. I hope that they fix the issues, so that travelers can enjoy their stay!

Yelp
I've been travelling for medical tourism reasons back and forth to Cancun for the last few months or so. The first time, I opted to stay right across from the clinic, but discovered the area didn't have much to do in it. My friend who lives locally suggested we check out Puerto Cancun just to kill time and get lunch one day, which is how we discovered this hotel. Absolutely stunning when walking through the lobby, we were surprised when we checked out prices online and found it was even cheaper than the initial hotel, and of course comes with many more amenities, and it being connected to the mall with many high end stores and restaurants is a huge plus. After that, I decided to stay here for all my following visits as it was only a 10 minute ($5usd) taxi ride away from the clinic. All of my stays were perfect, the hotel receptions, the door men, the room service staff, all are amazing and very friendly. The rooms are quite spacious and very date, this hotel is less than 1 year old, so everything is extremely clean and modern. As it looks like I still need to keep travelling here, Renaissance will still be my first choice!

Enrique K.

Yelp
Terrible experience with them despite the property, the location and most of the staff being top notch. Management however, left a lot to be desired. We rented 96 rooms during the course of a week. We were asked to prepay everything in advance by transfer and once it was paid, "it's company policy" became the manager's battle cry to deny us everything from simple cancelling and reimbursement for rooms we did not need and for which we gave ample notice (more than 48 hours) to just basic kindness to our guests, some of whom rated the rest of their trip as outstanding, except for Renaissance. All our team's efforts to provide a perfect "cured" experience were set ablaze by this managers need to exert his/her will. The group had specific privacy and security need that were discussed with hotel staff months in advance. Once the moment came to receive our guests, instead of being any help or trying to accommodate some of our reasonable requests, the manager did not show, even once, and just kept sending the staff to nag our organizers continuously while making our guests feel awkward, unwelcome and even abused. With regards to the cancellations, we were not only denied cancellation for five rooms, even though we requested it with enough time, the rooms magically disappeared from the roster of available rooms for our group. Many of our guests were denied breakfast, because of mishandling of single and double rooms by the hotel and despite the fact that we had paid for many extra rooms that we did not use. In short, we will never bring back another group there again, which is a pity, because the location is super strategic for us. We are currently looking for alternatives for 2022 groups.

Yelp
Thank you for a wonderful short stay!! I'm really looking forward to going back. From Roberto to David & to the wonderful woman who helped me with our coffee machine so early in the morning, Every staff member (even Security) are gracious & kind! They are service guest oriented & it shows. I didn't get to use all the amenities. We only stayed one night while in transition to depart. As a lifetime Marriott platinum member I get so excited for new properties! Opened really just 6 months ago it looks & feels like it was just yesterday. The decor is coral beach, warm & welcoming. Calming is how my family described the lobby & room. I splurged for a suite (11 on site) it was stunning, large & very comfortable. If in our budget I'd do that again. We ordered room service. The pastries were amazing. Nice selection & flavor. Newly built in a area called Puerto Cancun Marina the hotel is attached to a very very nice mall! Many ramps makes this property nicely handicap friendly. The elevators are key access only I like that & security checks everyone in before approaching the building. I like that too. There's a lot of construction right now but I think it still has the best views from any room! The AC in the rooms work great & they are well decorated. There's so much more to this hotel, I can't wait to go back and very soon! IMO Cancun is VERY SAFE right now. You should go! As in any foreign country just be traveler aware. Here at the renaissance you'll feel pampered & safe for sure! July 2019. WE RETURNED!!! And added another star to our review!! This time for a week! I'm still in love with this property. 4 mornings now we've done the buffet breakfast in the lobby restaurant KAAJAL. You can do full buffet (good price for the food) or continental breakfast. Again the fresh pastries are amazing. Traditional Mexican cuisine mixes so well with a make your own omelette station! There's a chilaquiles station freshly made too! Oh wow we're happily full now for our day. IMPORTANT TO KNOW; Groups larger than 4 people MUST MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR BREAKFAST. yes it's true! The locals are dressed to the nines here meeting up with friends & family mixed with business travelers & tourists! So by 10am this place is packed!!!! They serve til noon so don't panic! Next up is the free shuttle to the lagoon beach club just steps away from the property! This location close to downtown is prime with a mall attached is perfect!

Johanna G.

Yelp
We really like this property. It is much smaller than a lot of the larger resorts so you don't have the grand pools and wide open spaces. However, what you do have is attentive staff and peace and quiet. The rooms are nice, the service is excellent and the bay views are spectacular! They have only been open a month as of our visit so they may be going above and beyond to get us to come back but I must say, it's working!

Frank N.

Yelp
This was our first time in Cancun. It was a birthday trip for my girlfriend. Gustavo greeted us on arrival that evening around 10:20pm. He was very friendly and was able to accommodate my request for a room upgrade as a Marriott Gold Member. The property was very secure and clean. We were impressed by how many stops the shuttle had to make, to get through the main entrance. There is a lot of accountability, and it doesn't appear that just anybody can get in. There was plenty of signage to remind guests to wear masks and to observe social distancing. There were two elevators with a sign that indicated a two person limit. The room was very nice, with an awesome view of the marina, a partial ocean view (to the left), and beautiful sunsets each day. I wished that there had been a microwave available, but other than that the room was great. The bathroom was very nice, with a spacious walk in shower. Gilbert, at the front desk was always very friendly and helpful. We signed up for a COVID test for our return flight, and that was a pretty streamlined process. Gilbert even printed up our results once I let him know that I received the emails from the testing center. The restaurant is very nice, and we had her birthday dinner there. Luis was our host, and he made it a very nice and memorable event. Luis was our host during lunch, and he was great. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were always very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, and both bartenders were great. It was nice having a mall next door. The front desk provided recommendations for authentic Mexican cuisine, away from other tourists. We were very happy with their recommendations. The private beach club was awesome, and we only regret not being able to spend more time there. The road to the beach club was rather bumpy, but once we arrived, it was great. Jackie took very good care of us at the beach club. Overall, this is a great location to avoid the hustle and bustle of the Hotel Zone and the Spring Break atmosphere. We will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was the highlight and was delicious with great variety, fast service and attentive wait staff. The gym was clean and had a great view of the Marina. The hotel is 10mins drive from Hotel zone, by the marina and a nice mall. The beds were so comfortable and the room was well maintained. The staff were great, so helpful and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I've been on plenty vacations but this one was special because it was my 50th birthday and this was my 4th time visiting Cancun and one of my best vacation & birthday experiences all because of the impeccable hospitality, service, accommodations, food and drinks provided by the Renaissance Cancun and the professional staff. Upon checking in my room it was decorated with balloons and cake. They also surprised me while at the jacuzzi bringing me more cake and singing happy birthday. My girlfriend and me will always stay here and highly recommend this resort to our friends and family. Special thanks to management, front door attendants, bar servers, waiters and the staff that clean our room twice a day.

Yelp
As far as look goes, the rooms are cool. There are even design cut-outs on the ceiling of individual rooms. It's very unique in that sense. The rooms have Aveda products which is very nice. The service is very good. The only thing that is missing is a microwave. I'm super bummed out about that because I bought something to eat specifically that requires reheating, and now, I have to toss it. The shower head is great. The shower temperatures are precise, even showing 40 degrees. The Infiniti pool is beautiful. The restaurant is nice with a great staff. I tried the tuna tartare tostada and it was delicious! I was disappointed with the wine list. I was hoping to find a Mexican wine on the menu and only found American, French, and Italian. I wasn't able to find the restaurant on Yelp as I would like to give it its own review. I would definitely recommend this property.

Yelp
This is a nice new hotel. The pool is beautiful and sitting in the being it is nice. The staff is attentive and the location is not too far from the hotel zone. The bed was very comfortable with a room facing the marina. The views were awesome. I was unhappy though with the room on the 11th floor. I had room 1109. The gym was directly above my room and you could hear people dropping weights from early in the Morning till 11pm. The restaurants are very good. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was extremely attentive. There is also a mall next door but the stores it seems like you are in America. I would have given the hotel a 5 but the location of the room was what lowered it.

Yelp
My friend and I spent a week exploring the Yucatan through hostels, carrying around backpacks. We booked a stay here for our last night as a way to treat ourselves after crappy beds and mediocre hygiene. We were pretty disappointed. I love the Marriott family and always try to stay within it, but this was sub par. It was gorgeous visually but all of the promised amenities fell short. They advertise an infinity pool. Theirs did not match that description at all. It was small, shallow and completely tiled in. Infinity pools are supposed to have a clear ending.... with the appearance of being infinite. We did not want to spend time in the attached hot tub (that closed at 8pm) because of the blaring club music from the nearly empty bar. Instead, we went up to the 12th floor hot tub in the gym..... which refused to get hot so we gave up. Our high floor ocean view room was also advertised as having robes and slippers..... which were nowhere to be found. When we ordered a bottle of wine to our room, I was told I would be called right back with the selection. After 20 minutes, I rang back to be told there were only 2 options. I selected the merlot whIch was then brought to our room another 20 minutes later.... ON ICE. Not to mention while we were waiting for the wine, someone came knocking (twice) on our door trying to sell us stuff. We came here to relax and get away from that. All of the area surrounding the hotel was filled with construction. I know that's not something they could do anything about, but I would have appreciated the heads up. It was loud and obnoxious; not the peaceful end to our vacationn we were looking for. I still love the Marriott family but I think I will vet things a little more in the future. We had better & more consistent service at our hostel in Mérida.

Yelp
Very modern hotel with beautiful rooms. When we arrived we were greeted by a concierge who took our temperatures, wrote our names down and parked our car. Area was very safe and there were security guards at all times.

Yelp
Never Again! First, this hotel is brand new and the staff is really nice. However, this is not enough for me to haha a good vacation Second, this hotel is about a 12.00 taxi ride away from everything! You can take the $1.00 bus back to the hotel but you need to take a taxi to where you are going because the bus stop is too far to walk too. Third, the room does not have a long mirror, no refrigerator, but it's a nice update new room. The decorative pillows in my room had a bad odor Fourth, is you are looking for a true Cancun experience this is not the place, it's good for business travelers. The pictures look amazing on their site and Expedia, and the pictures are accurate. Fifth, the pool is really small with only 8-9 beds to lay on. Also, it's located in the lobby, so it's not that cool. I thought it would be a rooftop pool or something. It's literally behind a clear door in the lobby, so you can see people checking in and out. Sixth, DONT PAY the extra money for the Marina view because this part of the water is nasty and dirty looking and you will be facing a build under construction.

Yelp
I've been here for 5 days and so far it's been great. The staff is so nice and welcoming. They are always here to attend your needs. I also love the pool that lights up and how nice and new everything is. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a nice and clean hotel! It's also very close to a lot of main areas in cancun and there's a plaza right next to it. Having the best time here!
