"What's the vibe?Charlotte's quiet, impressive Renaissance is located in SouthPark, a neighborhood known for its high-end shopping and top restaurants. While the area has a definite buzz, it doesn't ever seem frenetic—even the atrium fountain in the lobby sets a soothing tone. Is it part of a chain?Renaissance is a Marriott brand. How are the rooms? These are classic Marriott hotel rooms with thoughtful technology and nice amenities. The design plays it safe to appeal to the corporate crowd, but it has just enough contemporary punch to veer away from boring. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?The Wi-Fi is free. Tell us about the food and drink here. There is an onsite bar and café, but with some of Charlotte's top restaurants right here in SouthPark, it's better to eat lunch and dinner elsewhere. Can we bring our pets? The hotel is pet-friendly; bring your dog, and you're sure to get great tips for local restaurants and breweries that welcome four-legged companions. Who's staying here?Urbanites who like their big-name brands. How's the neighborhood?Tall, shiny buildings are all the rage in SouthPark, and the Renaissance fits right in with the office buildings and shopping centers. This hotel is a convenient and comfortable base in this part of town; close to Uptown but away from the fray, it feels more like a ritzy suburb than part of the city. Any other hotel features worth noting? The fitness center has an indoor swimming pool. Parking is complimentary at this hotel.  Bottom line: Worth it? Why?Yes, the address alone makes this hotel a winner." - Nancy DePalma

Honestly, I was expecting a little bit more being that Renaissance is Marriott’s “luxury” brand. There’s nothing wrong with the room, it just doesn’t feel “luxurious”. The bedding is very comfortable. The only issue I had was the chair in the room looked like a cat used it as a scratching post. There is a fridge in the room, but you’d wouldn’t know because where it’s located looks like a dresser drawer. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and professional. The hotel grounds are very well kept. There’s a mall across the street and a few restaurants located within walking distance. I do recommend this hotel as it is quiet, casual and comfortable.

Our experience at the hotel was elevated thanks to the exceptional service provided by Rizik. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Always courteous, professional, and attentive, they remembered our preferences and made us feel truly valued. The club lounge was always spotless and welcoming, with a warm smile to greet us each visit. Her dedication, efficiency, and genuine hospitality made our stay unforgettable. It’s rare to encounter someone who takes such pride in their role—an absolute credit to the hotel. We can’t wait to return!

What a beautiful hotel. It smells elegant and has pristine rooms. It’s in a perfect location. We also had a fantastic experience in the executive lounge with Riziki! She is a bright light and truly made our morning with her positivity. She welcomed my children and I with open arms. We are fans of this hotel and plan on visiting every time we visit the beautiful city of Charlotte.

The rooms and hallways are a little dirty but there are worse places to stay in the area. I was expeting better, the hotel is in need of work, there were major repairs going on during my stay. Maybe it will be better after they upgrade, not sure how they are ranked as a 4 star its a mid level 3 star at hotel best. Staff is nice!

Google
Had a great stay here - clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, updated, good location (walking distance to many restaurants) and very friendly and efficient staff! Unlike some other hotels, if we requested something, it was there right away and they were able to accommodate everything we needed, especially for the baby. Our highlight was definitely the wonderful service, especially from Juan Carlos and Doris every morning at breakfast - they took extra special care of us and our baby, and went out of their way to be warm, friendly, and helpful! I will note, the bed was a bit firm / uncomfortable for my liking (I don’t usually have issues with hotel beds). Fine for a two night stay but not much more.

Had a wonderful time at this hotel. I attended a wedding. The staff was awesome and friendly. The food was great!! The rooms were modern decor, very comfortable, and exceptionally clean. Finally, the water pressure is phenomenal.

I came into town for a conference in the Southpark area, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Spacious rooms. Quiet floor. The first floor had ample space to sit and enjoy some tea or read a book. All staff members I encountered were pleasant, and It was conveniently located with tons of restaurants & shopping nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

Google
Well the Hotel is a 5 star except some of the front desk staff. There was one Hispanic guy that made up for the others by extending my checkout by an hour which is all I needed to come back from a Hot morning work in Charlotte and take a quick shower before catching a late flight. I normally have a 4pm check out with my Status but was only granted a 1pm due to rooms all being booked out. I was told there was nothing they could do. I did explain my situation but was still told No. Upon arriving back to to the Hotel at 12:30 I'd ask front desk staff i i could have another 1h to clean up before checkout. He told me to go ahead and take my time and he would let Housekeeping know. Now that type of service made it Great for me. I applause this young man for excellent service and great customer service. (By the way I'm a Titanium Elite status). I think the other staff should have said to me " what type of time do you need because of our room are all sold out for the next day, but we could see if we could arrange that for you.

Julia R.

Yelp
I had a nice experience at the Renaissance South Park. Great location with a clean, updated room. The bar downstairs was nice, but they weren't serving food very late or for some reason the kitchen was closed very early. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
It's nice even though it has a few miles. My room is very nice with a clean, glitzy look, and it's spotless; however, I can't cool my room no matter how low I set the thermostat. And there is something funny about the bed sheets. I pulled them off the bed both nights. I'm here for a meeting, and we are meeting in the Monarch Room. It was easy to find, and it's the usual hotel boardroom. But the event staff was very accommodating. It an easy walk to nice restaurants, so that's a plus too. It's okay overall.

Yelp
Renaissance South park Charlotte INTRO: Renaissance Charlotte South Park Hotel is a 4-star hotel located in heart of south park mall. Hotel has a breakfast downstairs. It's a Starbucks shop. Chicken Wings: Were spicy and good quantity Parking/ Location: They had no valet parking. Ample parking space and had a big parking garage. Ambience and Service: Staff was very helpful and friendly. Ambience was lovely. They have modern contemporary style interior and décor.

Yelp
Definitely a 5 star review for a well kept, clean and recently renovated hotel. Parking was out front and easy, with an overflow deck for events. Check in was fast, and we were given access to the club lounge as titanium elite members. It was fully stocked with snacks, drinks and coffee, and had breakfast available each morning. The room was recently updated with hardwood floors (thank you no hotel carpet!) AND-updated shower with glass door instead of curtains-the things I hate about hotels. There's a spacious lobby, bar, and event space on the first level. Will definitely return to stay!

Yelp
What a very pleasant stay, the trick is to have consistency and when we return, will it be as good or disappointing like another venue we had a first visit at and then it went downhill the last 3 times(Hyatt Centric), Which s why we came to this hotel, and the Lobby was decorated very nicely as we are Members we had Online Check in and went straight to our room. I did notice a few times the desk was left unoccupied but, we didn't have to deal with it which was fine. We were on the 4th floor and the only downside is the Hallways, man are they worn looking but as it appears the rooms have just recently been upgraded maybe it is coming for the Hallways? We Checked into the room and it was beautiful, clean, new feel. (See Pictures) So for the 2 Nights we were there we enjoyed our time and we have already decided to go back. 4 stars, for the Hallways, they really do look bad, so it makes you feel like Ewww. We visited the bar, new girl and trainer, well handled and so darn friendly and helpful and great drinks. The Atrium area is beautiful and get 2nd floor it has balconies that overlook the atrium. We look forward to going back.

Yelp
Immaculate well maintained property! I enjoyed the atmosphere the staff created with their upbeat energy!

Yelp
Filthy room for the price . Booked a night on our drive home back to Florida and the night stand is caked in dust , and the sheets don't look washed they have Black streaks on them . Would have thought for $300 after fees for one night it could be cleaned properly . Also disappointed they charge for the wifi ! Unreal . If we weren't exhausted from driving I would have cancelled and went elsewhere for a lot Less money .

Yelp
We came here only for one night for the American Girl experience. I was able to book the BASIC package a few days prior, but they emailed me with the details and gave me the option to upgrade to the EVERYTHIG PINK package, which gives you pink bedding and towels, along with a robe and slippers for your doll to keep, along with the doll bed that is included in the BASIC package. You also get pick robes to wear during your stay with the upgraded package. The check-in experience is cool, with the kids being able to check themselves in and get their own keys, and a letter with their name and their dolls names in it. The pink cookies and milk were waiting for us in the room. The room itself was modern and had nice products, along with a large TV. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the atrium. This was loud at night, but was cool to have the furnished balcony. The included breakfast was the cafe downstairs and only had pastries and coffee. The indoor pool was small and not as nice as the pictures make it look. But the location and proximity to the American Girl store at the mall across the street cannot be beat. Parking is free and easy, and the staff is great!

Yelp
Checked in Friday and loved that the app allowed me to check in from my mobile phone along with providing a mobile key....now that's some next level Sugar Honey Ice Tea! Walked into a beautiful and well decorated room. The area was so beautiful and I felt so very safe. I'm here for a half marathon and the start and finish line and packet pick up was all within walking distance which is a runner's dream. After the race, get to the room to take a nice warm shower only for the hot water never to get hot. Call downstairs and they offered to extend check out but that wasn't cutting it for me. Spoke with the manager Makayla and she went ABOVE AND BEYONG the call of duty to accommodate all of my requests. She was so pleasant about it. I felt bad that she walked into work to learn that the boiler had broken and was working to get it resolved but she made sure I was good and I appreciate her and her staff for that. Then my flight gets delayed three times, canceled and rebooked so I called back to see if they would allow me to stay another night in the event my flight gets canceled again and they said yes, just let us know. People don't have to be nice and I'm just glad that the staff at the Renaissance Hotel was more than nice to me. I would recommend this hotel and I'll be back to visit again. Oh and I ate at the restaurant and the salmon, peas and risotto was good. The Cabernet Sauvignon was exceptionally delicious and makes for a great 1 hour and 37 minute flight back home to Indy.

Yelp
Very nice Marriott property near Southpark! The rooms are very modern with hard wood floors, streamlined decor and comfortable beds and sitting areas. They have a shower and Aveda products in the bathrooms. We stayed during COVID and were given lots of helpful information about restaurants nearby and those doing takeout. Village Tavern is within walking distance and a great choice. The staff was very welcoming and kind. Parking is free. The rooms are clean. I am glad I picked this location for an appointment nearby.

Jason R.

Yelp
Roach motel. Within 2 days, I saw 5 dead cockroaches. All of which were in the lounge/dining area, and I posted pictures. If this doesn't bother you, the location is great, but I would never recommend to anyone that I cared about. Oh and the grumpy old man that "greets" you for breakfast doesn't care about the roaches.

Bob J.

Yelp
Pretty nice hotel! I came here a few years ago, and they have remodeled all of the rooms. The rooms are nicer now, but the service has gone downhill since. I was staying here with all my family in 3 separate rooms. I had a few complaints, though. When my family called me, the phone rang but I couldn't hear anything (phones didn't work.) Also, the housekeeping staff didn't clean our room during the day. We called the front desk and they came a few hours later and did a great job cleaning. The doors to the rooms slam very loud. When the housekeeper cleaned another family members room, they left the door open. I guess the housekeeper didn't want to slam the door. The room seemed like nothing was stolen, but this still shouldn't happen. Don't get me wrong, this is a great hotel, just the housekeeping staff need to be trained again. Also, the pool had a very loud alarm when you open the door. Way to hurt my kids ears. The rooms were nice, just the hotel could improve a bit

Meghan M.

Yelp
I found this hotel to be quite nice! Rooms - I was upgraded to a corner suite upon arrival and was pleasantly surprised that my room was fully renovated. (No carpet! The best!) Facilities - I didn't get a chance to use the fitness center but the common areas seemed fine and, being there for a meeting, those facilities were solid as well. Food - I'm not a huge fan of Marriott's move towards take-out style room service but my veggie burger was tasty and it arrived in less than 20 minutes. The catered lunch at our meeting was above average for hotel food. If I had to return to the area, I would most certainly stay here again.

Eddie S.

Yelp
Why even have a mask policy if you're not going to enforce said policy? Literally watched a hotel manager watch NUMEROUS hotel guests in all common areas with no masks on and didn't say a single word to anyone. Their cafe has their tables spread through the center common area where I was seated. I had to eat while other hotel guests walked back and forth right near my table. This is not keeping hotel guests safe. It defeats the entire purpose of the mask policy. Be apart of the solution, not the problem.

Yelp
It's a place to sleep. Room was freezing and air control didn't work. Weird room decor (very dated). No staff to run up a needed item. $19 for a glass of wine that had soured. Upsides were it was clean, hot water in the shower throughout, quiet. But not worth it overall. I don't write a lot of negative reviews but... is this all you get for $170 nowadays? Yikes! Never again.

Jeff B.

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. I got one of their recently updated rooms. A welcome change. A convenient location and reasonably price.

Hillary J.

Yelp
Lovely hotel -- rooms are so nice and clean (wood floors rather than nasty carpeting!). Staff was attentive and friendly. Room very well appointed. Beautiful lobby. Hotel restaurant/bar was empty but it's available. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.

Desert S.

Yelp
My experience at this property was better this time than it was the last time I stayed here. Overall, the room was in good condition, and everything worked. The bed linens were clean (they weren't during my previous stay), and the bed was very comfortable. The Aveda amenities were a nice touch. The staff was pleasant and responsive. The woman working in the club lounge the evening of 1/4/18 was wonderful. I was suffering from a cold, and she provided tea, lots of juice, and TLC. I ordered food at the hotel bar, and the brisket was as yummy as the bartender said it would be. I only have 2 complaints: 1) All the tissues in the box in the bathroom were wet, so I had to request a new box of tissues. 2) The bathrobe (pictures here) hanging in the closet wasn't fit for me to put on my dog much less my body.

Tasha J.

Yelp
Dated hotel. I usually stay in Uptown when in Charlotte but stayed in SouthPark on my latest trip. This hotel could use some TLC. The rooms have dated Marriott color schemes and decor reminiscent of 10 - 15 years ago. My room had an odd smell and leaking shower head which somehow resulted in water pooled on the floor. My bed had hair on it but the sheets appeared to be clean. The TVs have been upgraded to Smart TVs similar to most Marriott properties. I arrived at midnight, parked in the parking deck but had to walk outside in the rain because I did not have a key. The concierge lounge does not stay open 24/7 nor does Room service, so my only food option was pizza delivery. The options in the concierge lounge were limited compared to other Renaissance hotels. Finally, the gym is small. Overall, far from my favorite Marriott property and if I have an option, I would not stay here again. I suggest staying at the Marriott South Park if they have availability instead of the Renaissance.

Bev L.

Yelp
This review should really be 4.5 stars. I'm deducting a half of a star due to the flat pillows. We had to ask for additional pillows because they kept going flat. Other than that, the king size bed was a DREAM! So comfortable! We really enjoyed it. ;-) From the moment we checked in until we left we experienced excellent customer service. Very friendly employees and very responsive. When we called down for additional pillows they brought them right away. We hung out at the bar for a bit and again experienced excellent service. The hotel itself was nice, clean and upscale. We got upgraded to a corner suite because it was my birthday. The bathroom was huge! This was just a quick getaway for us but it met our every expectation.

Cherise J.

Yelp
This is a nasty hotel and the customer service is just as bad. This is one of those hotels that should be featured on 20/20 for how disgusting they are. Hair is everywhere. Just know if you stay in this hotel, you'll be sharing a bed, shower, pillow, washcloth, chair and sofa with other people's hair. Hair is EVERYWHERE!!! They need to fire the housekeeping supervisor immediately. They have trained the staff to take shortcuts...i.e. flipping the sheets, using lent rakers and using towels to wipe glasses. We were changed rooms twice and had the same problem, especially with the hair. The pillows smelled sour/used and the front staff seemed ambivalent to the issue. We couldn't even eat in the restaurant because of how dirty the rooms were. If the rooms are nasty, how can we trust that the restaurant won't be nasty. They don't even thoroughly vaccum the floor. There were stains on the hallway floor!! When we checked out, the front desk didn't ask anyone how their stay was. I was waiting for her to ask us, but she didn't. I'm sure she knows the place is disgusting too. The hotel has a modern look, but don't be fooled by that. It's just a camouflage. If you stay in this hotel, you risk having a quality and sanitized room. Because I have a small child, I take this very seriously. I wouldn't even chance it. This place is FILTHY!!

Yelp
With any hotel package you expect to be comfortable, feed good and a pleasing environment. Well the Renaissance is the bar and how a guest should be treated. From the start with checking and being greeted with a warm smile and given our party bags for the New Years event. To start the hotel is almost complete with their renovations and wow the Retro style room with the wild furniture fixtures was on point. The headboard, couch and chandelier lamp are items I could see in our home. The designer and the Hotel really were in the same page note the picture. Even down to the rosemary and mint body wash and rain shower hands down the best experience I have ever had. Then the food if we paid separately would have cost a Fortune but the package was simply a steal. Words can't describe how well the entire staff with giving us the VIP treatment. For those who read this please consider on your next New Years event to check out their package. Open bar the entire time, Champagne bar and food bust open. A special mention to Danielle the bartender that kept the party going hard and drink flowing . Everything was VIP, White glove way over the top service. We would've just been happy staying in the retro room but we had food and drinks to go along with it we are sold lifetime members for New Years Eve parries. If you are reading this join us for 2019 you will thank us later if you are not swinging from the chandeliers.

Yelp
So check in was great, we got there around 1230 and we were able to check in which was very convenient. I got a room on a high floor as requested. The room looked freshly renovated they had beautiful hardwood floors, large couch, bathroom was a perfect size with a walk in shower and double shower head. The tv had Hulu, Netflix and hbo go included which is always a plus. Where the room failed is the bed. It was uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible. They were so soft that we asked for more(so we had 3 a piece) and they still would all go completely flat. By the time I left I had neck pain. The restaurant was a typical hotel bar nothing special. We watched the acc games and had some dinner. The drinks and food were average and the server/bartender with glasses that works nights was very dry and not friendly, she needs a little pep.. it may improve her tips. The parking is weird, for lack of a better word, but I think it was confusing due to have there parking lot being closed by there current construction. Overall very nice hotel I'll just bring my own pillow next time!

Leah E.

Yelp
I stayed here for a business trip and held a small meeting in their conference room. Hands down the best hotel staff I've ever experienced. So friendly and accommodating, It felt like everyone truly believed in "hospitality". That's really rare to find, so had to leave a review.

Simone M.

Yelp
Great entrance with valet parking or park on the deck. The people who work there were great. An eclectic type of feel yet still very stylish and comfortable. Food was wonderful and flavorful as well. Really emjoyed the ambience of the center court yard. Very spacious and extremely comfortable. Will return again, for sure.

Yelp
I stayed here in September 2013 and truly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is either new or very well kept. I stayed in a standard king room, which also had a desk, dresser, and lounge chair area. The place was quiet and the staff were extremely professional and helpful. But, what pushes a hotel up to the 5 star category? The attention they pay to detail! When I arrived, there were glasses with veggies and dip set out for guests, as well as many glasses of complimentary red wine. I took a veggie cup but passed on the wine - however, when I checked out early the next morning, I was very pleased to find a carafe of iced vanilla coffee in addition to the standard drip fare offered by Marriott properties everywhere. North Carolina is awfully warm in September, even at 6am, so it was a pleasure to be able to enjoy an iced coffee as I drove away. The property does have a restaurant including room service, though I passed on this in favor of a local hamburger place. Still, it's nice to have, especially if you are arriving late at night. Check out the photos I uploaded - perhaps they'll help you decide if this property suits your needs!

Yelp
Unfortunately I can't give this hotel the rating I would have liked, due to the bad experience I had. The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are just fine. The bed isn't hard, but isn't particularly comfortable either. My husband and I ordered room service for breakfast (they call it Al la carte), and we had to call after it was 15 minutes late. They apologized and rushed it up. But in rushing it up my toasted croissant sandwich was very burnt and greasy. Our biggest complaint was the noise level. We chose a hotel that was a little pricey because we wanted a nice, quiet stay. However, the room next to us was full of drunk women who were blasting music and cackling loudly. I called downstairs to see if they could remedy the situation. Noise continued for another 20 minutes and we decided it was best if we just head home. The man at the desk apologized and asked if we wp uld like another room, but at that point the night had been ruined. Given the issues we had, and the price we paid yo experience these issues, I have to give this hotel a low rating, because I've had more pleasant experiences at much less expensive hotels.

Michael Y.

Yelp
Pros: staff is extremely friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast and Flagstone (restaurant in the hotel) are great. Ample parking. Beautiful atrium where the restaurant is located. Cons: maid service is not very thorough, walls are thin and you can hear conversations from the next room, and if someone allows their door to slam shut, your mattress will shake. Maid service can be quite loud while in the hallways talking and moving carts. Sitting area in standard queen rooms is awkward. Overall, would probably not stay here again

D W.

Yelp
As a Marriott Platinum member I have to say this is one of my favorite Renaissance Hotels. It is my go to hotel in Charlotte. The South Park area is great, plenty of shopping and great restaurants. When you walk into the hotel the scent in the air is intoxicating, it's like being in a spa. Everybody at the front desk is extremely friendly and check in is a breeze. In the lobby each night they usually serve glasses of wine or a specialty cocktail for a couple of hours, this is a nice touch. Large rooms with very comfortable beds. The workout room is great, several treadmills, elliptical machines, bikes, and free weights. You can definitely get in a good workout while traveling. There is plenty of onsite parking and a parking garage located at the back of the hotel. Great concierge lounge.

Scotty C.

Yelp
There's nothing really wrong with this hotel, but it was kinda weird in certain ways as well. The location is in South Park with boasts not much more than a fancy shopping mall. To get anywhere of interest, you're looking at a 15 minute Uber ride. The hotel is pretty big and looks like they host a bunch of conferences in their array of banquet rooms. Being a luxury line of Marriott, they definitely made an attempt to make the rooms feel more luxurious with unique and modernized furniture. What they ended up with was a ultra modern european mixed with space saving Ikea. It's honestly some of the strangest and oddly functional furniture I've ever seen. I wish I had taken pictures but I recall a nightstand that had parts that would swivel open but not enough to want to put anything in them. The the other one was a hexagonal mirror finish table with a a drawbridge door revealing nothing but the standard bible. The coffee maker was built into a compartment in the wall that tucks away but in a room that had plenty of extra space including a full size couch and coffee table. It's like they tried to make it cool and hip and just tried to hard or they updated in a while ago and it was ultra modern but now slightly tacky. Another oddly random thing we noticed was the chalkboard writing above the elevator listing a bunch or Renaissance locations. The logo was done properly but the rest of it looked like someone with poor penmanship threw it together. Another thing that doesn't affect your stay but is just odd to see at a hotel like this. Lastly, I asked for a late check out and they pushed back on my about it saying they could only offer a half hour. That was until I mentioned my coworker had been given an additional hour and we were leaving together and they conceded. You can't clean all the rooms at the exact same time. It bothers me when places are petty about things like this. Anyway, I know this all sounds negative nancy but there was nothing uncomfortable about my stay, but these were the things that stuck out in my head so I'm mentioning them. Take it for what you will.

Nicole C.

Yelp
It's a hotel. What else is there to say? I see mixed reviews for this place. I have only stayed here once. My room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Service was good. Is it the most modern hotel ever? No. But it's in a good location in Charlotte and we were extremely comfortable. Lots of towels, the water was hot and the shower head made it feel like rain. So thumbs up for me. It's very expensive but I'd return.

Katherine P.

Yelp
The hotel is very well decorated, well maintained. They ample parking options with valet, outdoor and garage parking. Many restaurants within walking distance. The service at this hotel keeps us coming back. Everyone in this hotel is just top notch. Danny greets you with a smile and welcomes you like it's home away from home. Lots of options on the bar menu and they always seem to change it up to add diversity. Never ordered anything that didn't taste delicious. Always look forward to seeing Kat at the bar. She is the best bartender, knows us by name, knows our orders, keeps our glasses full. Concierge lounge has lots of choices for breakfast, Ophelia does a great job in keeping the dishes full and cleaning tables so we have somewhere to sit on a busy morning. Love the scrub in the lobby restroom, nice touch! Service is exceptional and keeps us coming back to the Ren!

Ash B.

Yelp
Maybe the management provides the reviews, but this place is definitely inaccurately. The initial greeting from staff was horrible. I was quoted a price online and then when i checked in was advised the price would not be honored. "Do you want the room or not" the room was booked in September. I would think if there was a discrepancies let the guest know ahead of time. The rooms have disgusting carpet with stains and a odor. The walls are thin you can hear everything. Plus I saw other reviews that align with mine and the treatment they show minorities. I will never stay in a Marriott again. Elite customer does not mean anything.

Yelp
This is my favorite hotel in the South Park area. The rooms are clean and the lobby is nice and updated. The hotel has a full-service bar/restaurant that stays open late. They even have mini corn hole that you can play on the table tops at the bar. The only downside about this hotel is that they do not offer shuttle service to nearby restaurants. My company had a group of six staying at this hotel. We had to take Uber X to a nearby restaurant a mile away which ended up costing $45 round-trip. It would be nice if The Renaissance had a shuttle, inevitably people are going to want to go to a nice dinner close by and may not want to drive or may not have a car.

Yelp
I travel frequently for business and rarely take the time to make a review. When you have a business laptop and documents you want to know they are safe. During my visit to CLT I had expensive items disappear from my room. Alarmingly, the staff and/or management did not cooperate to help me locate the lost items. If your business laptop comes up missing, this location will not be concerned. After seeing another traveler whose items were stolen on Facebook I want to warn other business travelers. I do not recommend this location. Business travel is stressful enough without having to worry about your items being misplaced or stolen.

Yelp
My company's Region Sales Meeting was held here. Great facility overall. Rooms are very nice, weight room is alright, and the restaurant/bar is outstanding. All of our meals were catered by the hotel and every meal was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for any mid to large work event. Only knock is it's a long way from downtown.

Yelp
Visited here for the weekend with my mom and sister. The parking attendant (White Guy in his 60's) is the rudest person I have ever met in my life. He waves the cars off.....yells at drivers and blatantly suggest tips. The second rudest person is Nicole at the front desk...she is NOT a good front desk personality...very rude and seemed uninterested in doing her job. Once we got past these two assholes our stay at this hotel was okay, I will never forget how we were treated and Im definitely gonna report this to corporate....its disgusting how these people still have jobs...smh

Yelp
This is one my favorite hotels, when I can snag a rate less than $200/night; otherwise I take a pass. I have stayed here several times due to client meeting in the adjacent office park. As a Platinum Marriott member the lounge access is a nice perk and this location has a pretty decent lounge; although they pull the main items a bit early for me in the evening and I have missed out several times. The beds are soft, the rooms decent size; albeit most rooms are showing quite a bit of wear. I have never had an issue with customer service and everyone has been pleasant to deal with at all times. Free parking and valet parking is an option as well. The location is great next to a mall and quite a few dining options within a short walk or drive. I wish they would allow smoking in the open area, but I guess its their outdoor dining spot.

Yelp
Located in SouthPark area of Charlotte, NC. Conveniently located within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Lovely hotel. Nice size room for this family of 4. Bed may be a little short for those that are vertically gifted. There's an indoor heated pool and a gym, too. Staff was nice.

Yelp
The stay was amazing, there was a few things to keep us occupied like a bar, restaurant, pool, sauna and a gym. Everything was clean when we had arrived and staff was very friendly. Parking was hard to find at night, they do offer valet parking if interested besides that they have a lot.

Yelp
One of the best hotels I've stayed at. I travel a lot for work, and from the doorman to the front desk, everyone was welcoming and offering suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the area. I even got assigned a room that gave me a good view of an event at the neighboring Symphony Park and could see fireworks from my hotel window. What a treat! The room was high quality and I didn't have any issues. That's saying a lot because I can be picky about the quality and comfort of the hotels I stay at. This place is a standout. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We reserved three rooms this past weekend at the Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark for our family. We were VERY disappointed with our stay at your hotel. 1). No complimentary water bottles in the room. We called downstairs and the front desk clerk was adamant that it was in the refrigerator. No it was not! Spare me the attitude. There were NO bottles in the refrigerator. They said only one bottle is complimentary. After requesting a water bottle the staff delivered two bottles. 10 once water bottles, unbelievable. We then asked the next day for complimentary bottles and they said they have no bottles available. Really? Almost every hotel we stay at no matter where in the world we stay provides several and larger complimentary water bottles. 2). We then found our room very cold. We increased the temperature and after waiting awhile realized there was no change in the room. We called for assistance and the maintenance technician came to do the repair. We had initially planned to take a nap after a long day of travel but that was not possible as the room was freezing and the blower would not turn off. Housekeeping or maintenance ought to monitor problems with the HVAC. 3). The front desk said the WiFi would be complimentary but when we logged on in our rooms it stated there is a $12.95 charge per day. We called down to the front desk and they said do not worry about it because it will be adjusted off of your bill. What kind of free WiFi system is that? It is either free or not free. Don't make a guest either not use it because it states there will be a charge or call down to the front desk and have the clerk tell you "don't pay attention to what it says when you log on, it will be adjusted off your bill." Really? Hard to believe that Marriott operates this way. My other family members in the other hotel rooms mentioned the WiFi was very slow. 4). There was no wastebasket in the bathroom. Every time we had to throw something away we had to leave the bathroom and use the one in the bedroom area. What kind of hotel is this when there is no wastebasket in the bathroom? In summary, had we known that Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark would have so many issues we would not have chosen to stay at your hotel. There were so many options for hotels in Charlotte, unfortunately we chose the wrong one.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night when I first checked in I went to the restaurant to eat The service was phenomenal and the food was fantastic the salmon on top of the salad was perfect right amount of seasoning and just cooked to perfection. Throughout the entire Hotel every single staff member was friendly and courteous and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is a tad bit outdated in the rooms and they definitely need remodel but they are in the process of remodeling but the rooms were very well cleaned. My room is on the second floor so I like to do the stairs that's the only complaint that I would have about the hotel is that the stairs were in need of TLC

Yelp
Wonderful location, great service & staff, excellent food!! Best tip about this place: the spinning top style chairs in the front lobby!

Yelp
Terrific hotel for business, and at a level of what you'd expect from a Renaissance. Front desk and bar/lounge staff was friendly and attentive; rooms were modern and clean; and room service was promptly on time. (Not delicious, but all things considered, it was fine.) The lobby restaurant was terrific for breakfast - the NC cut grits are a can't-miss. Lounge could really use a better selection of wines-by-the-glass, but I live in N CA so I'm spoiled anyway. As other Yelpers have stated, the convenience of being right across the street from Southpark mall is a huge plus. I stayed here for several nights on business, and the (relatively) nicer, sit-down restaurants across the way gave some solid options for business dinners. If you're in Charlotte for pleasure, then eh, you'd certainly miss the out-on-the-town nightlife hustle and bustle feel. If you're in town for business, however, I think this place is a true winner - highly recommend.

Yelp
Hotel was decent for the price. Whoever decided hardwood floors were a good idea for guest rooms should be fired. We should have invited our neighbors over as it sounded like they were already in the room. At 7pm asked the front desk to move us but they told us they were booked and told us we would be charged if we left. They made absolutely zero attempt at making things better. Definitely won't stay there again and will think twice about staying at a Marriott property.

Yelp
The staff at this hotel are far and away the best in the business. Timothy in particular made me feel as welcome as could be. My week here for work was nothing short of amazing. Thank you to everyone here for making my stay the best it could be!

Yelp
We have enjoyed our stay at the Renaissance while visiting the area for Thanksgiving. Service has been great, rooms are spacious and updated plus the location is walking distance to great shopping and restaurants. Believe it or not, our favorite breakfast while visiting the area was at Flagstones, the hotel restaurant. We enjoyed the coffee, two egg breakfast (especially the grits) and service. Our server, Brandon, was great.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night while on a business trip. Very nice hotel and within walking distance to the mall with lots of shopping and dining options. Front desk staff was very friendly (maybe even a bit over zealous) and I was even offered a glass of champagne upon check-in. They automatically upgraded me to a nicer room, which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel was pretty quiet, but it didn't appear to be all that busy, so maybe that's why. My room was clean and plenty big. The work area was comfortable with plenty of plugs and lighting. Unless you are an Elite member, Internet access is $12.95/day. In this day of age, I would expect at least Wifi to be free, but sadly, it's not here. There was also plenty of plus on both night stands, which was also a very pleasant surprise. Plugs were very easy to get to as well. As for the TV, the premium channel here is HBO and you can use the StayConnect mobile app to control the TV. The room is equipped with a safe, small fridge, plus the usual coffee maker, ironing board, iron, etc. Bathroom was big and bright with a combined tub/shower, but the shower curtain is on a curved bar making the shower feel a bit less cramped. The sink area is within the bathroom, but there was plenty of counter space to put your stuff on. The bed is a bit on the soft side, so for me, my back was a bit sore in the morning. Due to the short stay, I did not get to use the fitness center, dining options, pool, etc. All in all, a very nice hotel and one that I would stay at again.

Yelp
Rooms were newly decorated and updated. Bathroom doors on runners still didn't work well and close completely. The room did, however, smell fresh, unlike last time. Nice linens. They do need to increase the lighting on their parking areas...pretty dark, especially in the far places.
