Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center Hotel

"If location is top of mind when you're searching for places to crash on your Denver business trip, you'll want to go the way of the Renaissance, set in the city's financial district. Not only is the hotel set in the former Colorado National Bank building, one of the city's most iconic structures, but you'll be just a half-block from the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, overloaded with shops, restaurants, and bars, and about a five-minute cab ride from both Coors Field and the Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as the Colorado Convention Center. Don't get too tied up in work, though–you'll want to take advantage of the hotel's "Renaissance Navigators": These handy, well-trained folk can give you tips on the best places to get a locally-brewed pint, and where to catch great live music."

My husband and I got married in Denver and used the Renaissance as our hotel. Lily was great to work with and was very nice with coordinating the hotel block. The hotel blook pricing was very affordable (for Denver) – I had reached out to over 15 Denver hotels and the Renaissance had the best pricing for the weekend. Our guests were very happy with their rooms, which were very nice and clean. We were upgraded to a suite for the weekend – and it was awesome! I got ready with my bridesmaids in the suite and it was so fun. The hotel, which is an old bank, is absolutely beautiful. The lobby of the hotel is absolutely stunning. We took pictures inside the lobby and right outside the building and they looked so cool.

Review: Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center Hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment you step inside, the Renaissance Denver Downtown sets itself apart with an atmosphere of elegance, professionalism, and hospitality that’s on another level. Every detail of the hotel is top-notch—from the immaculate cleanliness to the sharp décor and fast, friendly service. The staff here, from management to associates, are not only extremely professional but genuinely warm and welcoming. It’s like stepping out of the ordinary and into a world where customer service actually means something. Unlike many other spots around Denver, this hotel truly makes you feel at home. Every interaction was on point, and you can tell there's a high standard being upheld throughout the property. While the parking isn’t free, the overall experience more than makes up for it. Without a doubt, this is one of the best places to stay in Denver. The value, the comfort, and above all—the people—make it absolutely worth it. Highly recommended.

Google
We had an excellent experience at this location. The staff was welcoming, especially Tyler (front desk) who answered our many questions and assisted us in an allergy scare. He was friendly, informative and efficient. The hotel is beautiful, we enjoyed drinks at the bar, the pianist, ate chicken and crab cakes at the restaurant. The evening restaurant manager was accommodating, engaging and professional. I can't recall his name. The only issue is the standard king room was a bit small to walk around for the week we stayed, so we'll request a suite or larger room next time

Google
Beautiful hotel in downtown Denver. They do a really cool job of keeping the historic feel of the Colorado National Bank, while also providing an elevated experience. The front desk staff were amazing: responsive, kind, and dedicated to service. Room was great and the hotel restaurant had a great dinner menu. Short walk to the Convention Center. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking!

Google
Great hotel choice in downtown Denver. We chose it for its unique character and proximity to the convention center. The front desk was able to accommodate our early check-in (but with an interior room so we didn’t have much of a view or natural light). The lobby provides a nice atmosphere. Only downside was that the hotel bar didn’t have a dedicated space - it gets set up in the lobby lounge area and bartenders have to stock the shelves and put it all away each night (closing time seems to depend on the crowd but ~11-12). We did have one of the best whiskey sours though!

Google
Clean, but the room was quite noisy. I think it is due to the huge fan/machine outside of my room. Didn't sleep well. fan from the bathroom can not be turned off . Made the room dry. The room is small and gray, and a gray wall view from the room made me feel like in jail. Would not go back. The location is very good, though.

Google
Overall the hotel was pretty decent but for the price I’m not sure I would stay again. It was a good location but a lot of chain restaurants and shops since it’s close to the mall area. The hotel staff was super friendly and the lobby was pretty. I do think the rooms could use some work however. Our first room had several towel hooks missing and the door kept having screws fall out so much that we decided to change rooms. Michaela helped us do that and was so nice! Really grateful for that. The new room was an improvement but still not the comfiest bed or pillows. I would rate it high in quietness and darkness of the rooms for sleeping, though.

Google
Great stay here! Hotel is in a great spot and beautiful inside. Have to give a MASSIVE shoutout to Ruben at the Valet. We had an issue with our rental car and Ruben helped oversee the car exchange while we were at the Rockies game. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Beautiful, wonderful hotel. A short walk from Union Station, so the hotel resides in a quiet area but not too far from the action. Our room was nice and the staff were super friendly. Booked this room through Costco travel, I definitely recommend staying here!

Cindy M.

Yelp
The hotel Valet service damaged our car and lied about it. Said our car was damaged when we brought it in! We filed a report over a month ago and have received no response. We asked for a photo from their security camera showing what condition our car was in when we arrived. They are refusing to cooperate with us. Renaissance Guest Services said they would follow up with our issue and we have not heard back from them, either.

Yelp
I dont know what kind of fragrance they pump in the air inside their lobby but it smells great! Renaissance took over what used to be a bank. If you go down to the lower floor you can see the bank vaults renovated into conference rooms. Great location, the 16th street mall is right around the corner and union station is about 0.5 miles away.

Yelp
My mom and I stayed here for a weekend trip while visiting Denver, this hotel was conveniently located to restaurants and the 16th street mall. Staff were very friendly and incredibly accommodating given one of our flights were delayed. They offered us umbrellas when it rained, valet and bartenders were very polite! Drinks were good, so many neat details in the decor and the place was very clean! I would recommend to a friend or stay again if in town!

Yelp
Excellent beautiful warm and excepcional, fully recommend el hotel favorito from now on

Yelp
Pro-tip: Ask for a higher floor to lessen the road noise. Stayed here during a conference. As a former bank building, it is a nice building with a grand entrance. The lounge is great and opens out into the large entry way. Great breakfast and afternoon snacks. The room was well appointed and comfortable. The bathroom was large and the shower bug and nice. A comfortable arm chair helped you to feel like you were in more than a hotel room.
google avatar

Yelp
They tend to give you a low floor that is affected by the bar/lobby noise as well as the road noise. I've stayed here a number of times and they have given a low floor 50% of the time. For a Marriott member that does a decent amount of travel, really disappointed. Such a poor design of a hotel, wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Walking from Union Station, I was a bit skeptical of how I would feel staying at this hotel. What seemed to be the main doors were "room key only" side doors so we were a bit confused as to where to enter. Stumbling (and yelling) out of said doors, was a group of young "bros" and they didn't give me much confidence. We walked around the entirety of the building to the "main entrance" only to be locked out again. The almost rude valet (didn't say hi back when we greeted him walking up) did open the door for us when he finally realized we may be trying to check in and were not homeless people trying to find a warm place to stay. Luckily, Steven at the check-in desk put my mind at ease by being super friendly, super accommodating and super knowledgeable. This man deserves a raise. He made check in so easy and comfortable. He wasn't able to upgrade us but made sure we had enough water. He even came up to our room later when we realized the tv was being weird. Unfortunately, the tv knew he was coming and was fine while he was there, but did the weird thing again when he left. That's ok though, we didn't come to Denver to watch tv. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the rooms are nicely appointed. There were small scuffs here and there but I take that as normal wear and tear. The shower had great pressure and steady heat and there were many outlets and USBs for our phones, iPads, watches, etc. The bed was comfy and the room was shockingly quiet. There were people around, I could hear them, but it wasn't like they were in the same room as me, like most other hotels. The location is pretty central and in really good walking distance to touristy things. The only thing I'd be wary of is the homeless situation. There has to be a reason the hotels locks its door by 8pm. We also got told to "f*ing leave his city or we will be burnt to death" by a homeless person outside the hotel but just make sure to keep your eyes open, like in most cities.

Yelp
The hotel was very clean and roomy, they're not a real suites, but adequate. The bath tissue was bizarrely like 5 feet away from the toilet, which you can imagine is inconvenient. Staff is really friendly. The hotel was the old Colorado National Bank, high ceilings and interesting murals of Native American life. The Teller bar staff, Simon, and Heather, outstanding! Good cocktails they know their craft, they're friendly, and over two nights, we had a great time with them out of the four nights we were there. Would come back again....

Yelp
Really neat hotel that was once Colorado National Bank. Nice gym and cool bar and lobby to have a drink in. The restaurant Range is also delicious

Yelp
I have stayed in the Renaissance three times now and am consistently happy with it. I love that Marriott converted the old Colorado National Bank building (where my mom and dad met!) into a hotel. The interplay between old architecture and modern furniture is quite beautiful. Pricing is very reasonable compared to other hotels in the Denver area. The rooms are generally nice--the first time I visited I was upgraded to a phenomenal suite, however the last two visits I stayed in standard rooms. The hotel is beginning to show signs of age, with some tears here and there and wallpaper that is ripping, but if those items are repaired, I would give it a five stars.

Yelp
Very beautiful hotel. As soon as I entered the lobby, I was impressed with the decor. It used to be a bank so it has some cool features remaining like the vault doors still in place in the lobby. The bar is even called the "Teller". I was greeted immediately and the check in process was very efficient. During covid, there are limited amenities so no housekeeping unless requested, no concierge lounge, restaurant closed. They did provide $10 food and beverage vouchers for each night. Nonetheless my stay was great. I was upgraded to a larger room with a sofa and two big screen TVs. Bed was super comfy, large desk area and very spacious and well lit bathroom. They have self parking in a garage right next to the hotel. Unfortunately it wasn't attached but it wasn't necessarily inconvenient either. They provide a parking pass so you can go in and out. Location was great right off of the 16th street mall so tons of restaurants and stores. Even walkable to a CVS, Walgreens and little bit further but still walkable to a Target.

Yelp
Is is possible to rate this place a 10? Located just blocks away from Union station in a converted bank. You can see the doors are all still original and the vault is still there, which is so freaking cool! The decor is gorgeous and don't mind me while I stand and gawk awkwardly at the gorgeous ceiling. It is vaulted with paintings and moldings. I was greeted when I checked in, currently there are makeshift desks and not a long desk that you would normally see in a hotel, as the main entrance was currently not open. To tell you the truth, I actually prefer this set up, it really felt more personable! I had walked in the pouring rain from the train station to the hotel, so I arrived looking like a drowned rat (still looking good though!). Check in was a breeze and the gentleman (didn't get his name, but he was working on 4/27 with the security guard that failed to pick up an innocent girl walking in the rain, jokes of course) was so sweet and kind. We were laughing and joking and the fact that it was 40 degrees and raining outside just left my mind. He put my bag in storage so I could head to the bar, as it was apparent that I needed it after the long day of cancelled flights and random cities. The "teller" bar, good play on the bank theme they have going on. Rick, the bartender, knew everyone by name and was very friendly! I love great service! When I finally staggered up to my room, I was shocked! The bathroom was massive! And then it was like I went into another room (you go around the corner) and it just opened up! It was so large and amazing! Assortments of teas and coffee are available on your room, as well as a swanky bathrobe (yeah, it's like that). Everything was clean, everyone was friendly, everything was just great! I'm sad that it was a very quick stay for me, but this will be on the list of must stay there again!

Yelp
We checked into Denver Renaissance City Park Denver on Friday, August 11, to spend the next few days celebrating 18 years with my wife. Our 15-year-old son came along as well. My wife has mid-stage Huntington's Disease, so we secured a handicap-accessible room. Walking into the lobby, you see a beautiful ornate and old-school ceiling. The interior architecture is stunning. The building was the old Colorado National Bank building. They even have the old bank vault displayed and fully intact. The staff was equally impressive from the start as well. We got our hotel card and proceeded to the 7th floor. When you enter the 7th floor of the elevator, the worst pungent odor of mildew hits you, and you hope it's not black mold. I noticed several workers and drying machines cleaning up some water in one of the hallways in an alleged industrial accident. I am speculating, but some accident must have caused water that soaks through the carpet, causing these worst horrific mildew-like odors. You were hit with this smell whenever my wife, son, and I walked out of our door. I felt as if we were ingesting mold spores into our lungs. I believe that mold and mildew smell is unsafe for hotel guests. In retrospect, I would have requested a new handicap-accessible room. On our last night, my son stated that the scent had worsened. I agreed with him and noticed it started to seep into our room. We decided to check out early, and since we have paid through Sunday, we will leave before our designated checkout time on Sunday. My only major problem with our stay was the unsafe condition of mildew or mold on the 7th floor, which made our stay a nuisance for an 18th wedding anniversary. This subtle odor of mold or mildew irritants spoiled the whole tenure of our hotel stay. Walking down to the front desk on the day of our check out, I asked the front desk clerk why there was a horrible mold or mildew smell on the 7th floor. He stated that one of the rooms a few days ago had a fire and triggered the sprinkler system in the adjacent room. He said they were tearing out the wall from the water damage. Hence, the origin of the stank of mold that permeated the whole 7th floor. All he could say was, I am sorry. I will continue staying in the Renaissance brand of hotels, but I will stay away from the down Denver City Park location for irresponsibly placing us on the 7th floor. Mold and mildew, or hopefully not black mold, are unhealthy, especially for my wife, who has mid-stage Huntington's Disease. On top of that, it was our 18th wedding anniversary. Sigh.

Yelp
This is not related to staying at this hotel. I hosted a dinner in the private room downstairs. 14 people in attendance. The only good part of the evening was the 3 folks serving us. Mary scott and forget the third person we're amazing, gracious and much appreciated. The food was horrible. $86 Ribeye that could not be cut through and once you got a piece cut, Barley could chew it. Dealing with the sales person I set the dinner up with was painful. Do not do a private dinner here. The fact this is a Marriott is sad because "service e" was not your goal. You got your $2,500 out of me but will never recommend or use again.

Yelp
This wonderful clean & quaint hotel puts out a daily breakfast that is phenomenal. Plenty of water bottles to share, friendly competent staff & close to all good eateries! Thank you for a warm welcoming & immaculate stay. Darcy G

Yelp
Clean rooms, modern amenities, quiet enough for Denver location wise,, and Staff was friendly and accommodating. Love the location of this place, with ease connections to the highways and shops and eateries. If you're a rewards member there is a provided breakfast service at Illys which is located in the lobby.

Yelp
This Renaissance is housed in a former bank. The architecture is quite impressive so do take the time to check out those painted ceilings and marble columns. We stayed during COVID so it was not quite the usual experience but the staff did their best. The suite rooms are very spacious though design/decor is a bit on the more traditional side.

Claudia T.

Yelp
Our stay at the Renaissance on 17th street was amazing, all the staff there were super nice Teresa Alina sunny Seth the nice man at the desk who help me with my phone and valet guys, from the moment we pulled in they were super nice and checking in with Teresa and Alina made it super easy and checking out with sunny was very helpful and very nice. Everyone at the teller bar looked like they were relaxing and enjoying their drinks. Highly recommend this hotel, I will be back

Yelp
A very nice Marriott property in the heart of downtown Denver. Originally, the building was the Colorado National Bank (1862), and the hotel renovation preserved many of the bank's glorious and dramatic features--it is quite entertaining to wander the common areas and discover the timeless character of this grand old building. The rooms are generously sized, though not large--plenty of room to feel comfortable and not claustrophobic. Clean linens, a comfortable bed and a well-kept room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The on-property exercise facility is large, though more compartmentalized than most gyms due to the original architecture of the building. One disappointment was they only had one Peloton bike available--with Peloton's new online Hotel Finder, it makes finding a hotel with a Peloton simple (for everyone) and it seems more and more difficult to actually use the machines during peak AM exercise times, especially with only one available.

Yelp
A 4 star rating for Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center Hotel is a joke. It costs like a 4 star hotel and looks like a 4 star hotel but treats you worse than a motel. Save your money. I will say the strawberry infused water in the lobby was a nice touch but that's where the 4 star effort dies. The room is the same as a 2.5 star Marriott and I know because I just stayed in a similar room last night in Des Moines. I'm currently driving across country from NYC and staying at hotels through Priceline. It's been an amazing run and each hotel stay has been better than the last from Michigan to Des Moines up until Denver. I wanted Denver to be exceptional so I increased the budget for this leg of the trip so I could be Downtown and see the sights with a better than average hotel stay for a special anniversary. Big mistake. After waiting 20 minutes while on a long line of guests to check in as there was only one concierge helping an influx of guests, that same concierge was forced to operate the phone while checking all of us in. It would've been better to skip the attempt at this personal touch and just have a self check in option. In booking through Priceline I used filters to find a hotel with free parking and booked this stay with that expectation. Upon arrival the valet sign displays each overnight costs $59. Each hotel stay up until this point has been $30 valet service which is exactly why I added free parking to my search criteria. Once it was finally my turn to check in I explained my issue with the concierge and she explained that she'd be happy to comp my parking if I could replicate my booking process which I could not replicate for the exact night as there were no availabilities left. She did say saccharine sweetly that she'd be happy to cancel my reservation but she would not comp me unless I could duplicate my exact transaction. It was 10:30 pm, I had driven 7 hours from Omaha that day and there was a line of people behind me. Successfully dejected, I voiced my disappointment, reluctantly checked my family in, drove to another location and parked hoping my car won't be broken into but unwilling to spend $60 on parking I had priced into what was significant for me to blow on one night in a mediocre room in a beautiful hotel in a spectacular city. So with zero recourse and a great deal of frustration, I'm now writing this review and warning to anyone booking a room in this hotel to expect a truly picturesque lobby and expect disappointment in service from an establishment that has an unearned 4 star rating.

Yelp
do not stay at this hotel. while the employees are nice managment and how they price gouge people is disgusting. we had the misfortune of staying there while taylor swift was in town and not only did they mess up our reservation, they increased their prices by close to 50%. i was told directly from the employee that due to the fact that denver hotels were all booked they raised their rates. my daughter is an elite member with marriott and had to sleep on a sofa due to their error. we were not even compensated in any way shape or form. i reached out to management and never heard back from them. i guess since they had my money they felt they didn't need to responed to me. again, do not saty here!!!!!

Yelp
One of the most beautiful hotel lobbies I have seen. They have taken a 19th century bank and transformed it into a 21st century showcase. My room was excellent on all accounts; cleanliness, amenities, comfortable bed, good water pressure... the only draw back was no view from my 6th floor interior room. All staff that we had contact with were awesome, especially the valet team. I would recommend anyone to stay here since the downtown location is perfect, and if in the area at least stop by to see the lobby.

Yelp
Staff members were AMAZING!!! Customer service deserves 5 stars alone! Beautiful hotel! As soon as you walk in you're just in awe. We were checked in right away and given options for parking. We chose the $25 a day parking out front. Room was clean with a nice street view. Shower was the highlight of my trip! So spacious! Location, Location, Location! We were so close to everything. We frequented 16th street each day! Conveniently located right across the streets from restaurants with delicious bites to eat. Great Hotel!!!

Yelp
I typically don't write negative reviews unless I've been dealt with in a rude manner that was very much unjustified. I stayed at this hotel for four nights in June. Other than the shower being slightly dirty, the stay was fine. I charged a couple items from the marketplace to the room but there were no other charges. Housekeeping only came once during my time there and there were no complaints. I booked this stay through Priceline. The day after my stay, I was charged over $700 on the credit card on file (which was different from the card I used on Priceline). I've been reaching out for 3 weeks to first understand what I was charged on, which I still have not received an itemized receipt, and to get a refund and only get charged the amount for the items at the marketplace (~$20). First, I put in a Folio request (through Marriott's website) for the itemized receipt once I saw the charge on my account. I waited about a week with no response before I saw an email for a survey from Marriott to tell them about my stay. Once I filled that survey out (which I was reasonable and said it was 5 or 6 out of 10) and only was upset about this $700+ charge, I was finally contacted by Marriott. After a few emails, I was connected with an Accounting Clerk named John Diamond (female). It's been two weeks of correspondence where we had a misunderstanding so I called her directly. It was a very civil call in which she did not understand my concern and then rudely hung up the phone on me. This topic is still unresolved. I would not recommend staying here. For the amount of trouble I had with getting a refund, I hope no one has to deal with something like this going forward.

Yelp
Beautiful old bank building converted into a high end hotel. Great property, and customer service. Our room was nothing special, small window with view of alley and another building. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed, free bottled water. We were there for an event and the event facilities were very nice. The big thing for me in hotels is a comfy bed and the beds were just okay, a little firm for my taste.

Yelp
The Safest Hotel in Denver The Renaissance in Downtown Denver is one of my favorites. Situated in the former Colorado National Bank building, it is literally the "safest" hotel in Denver. Take a trip downstairs to look at the old vault. It's really cool. And there are safe doors mounted on the walls that will make for interesting pictures. Don't forget your camera!

Yelp
3.5 out of 5 so I will round up to 4 stars. There is certainly a lot to like about this hotel. I stayed here this month on a business trip, and I looked it up on Yelp beforehand, even though I wasn't the one who chose the hotel. I called the hotel a few days beforehand to request early check-in, they told me that they couldn't guarantee it but that they would try. When I arrived around noon on my day of check-in, they didn't have a room for me just then, but shortly thereafter, one was ready. The beds are very comfortable, and the rooms are well appointed, although I wish there was a chest of drawers somewhere. Instead, there is a closet with some shelving and hangers, so that is where I put the majority of my clothes. Some of the electrical outlets are also loose, so make sure your cords are in tight - one of my electronics didn't charge because of it. The shower products are Aveda which was very nice, but it literally took 2 to 3 minutes for the shower to warm up. Even then, I would characterize the temperature as lukewarm to warm, and that's with the handle turned all the way up to hot, or so I had hoped. Other colleagues said they didn't have an issue with this, though. The rooms have something called a smart fridge in them, and I must not be very smart because I couldn't figure out how to activate it, ha. I called the front desk about it on my first day there, and they said that the fridge would probably have to be reset, and they would send someone up to do it. When I got back after a long day of work events, the fridge was still not cold at all. I tried calling the front desk, and nobody picked up, this was around 11 PM so I called back in the morning. That morning, they said they would send another person to again reset the fridge, and when I got back to the room again after a long day of work events, the fridge was not cold at all. Obviously something was wrong with the fridge but it was very frustrating that they could not resolve this issue, as I take medication in the mornings and would have liked to have had a cold drink to take them with. Other than the fridge issue, I mostly had no other problems. The lobby is quite cool with the old bank vaults, as well (the building used to be a bank, and the façade on one entrance still says Colorado National Bank). There is also an Illy coffee shop in the lobby that sells beverages and I assume food, and there is a bar and a restaurant too.

Yelp
I love this hotel. The lobby was the old bank and they kept a lot of the architectural focal points. My favorite hotels always have an awesome history. They kept a bank safe and door in the lobby. It's super cool.I love it. The rooms were smaller but clean and quiet. The beds and pillows were excellent and not overly worn. The location is perfect for walking the city. It's feet away from the 16th mall and bus. The staff was very friendly but not around all that often. No biggie for me since we were there two days but there were others trying to get reservations. Other than that, I recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I stayed here while in town for work and I'm so glad my coworker demanded with an iron fist to stay here. We had to be within walking distance to the Convention Center (like 3 blocks away) and a few nearby office buildings, so this was perfect location for us. It's an historic building that used to be a bank, then vacant for a long time then turned into a hotel. Lovely décor inside, has remnants of it's history as a bank with the main vault converted into a meeting space. This hotel is located on Champa between 16th and 17th. Half block away from the 16th St mall area with all the restaurants and sights, and of course the free mall bus. My room was real nice inside, comfy bed, nice shower and bathroom, a good work desk, nice TV, good lighting, mini-fridge to actually put stuff in, good amount of plugs to well....plug stuff in. Oh and most importantly, good Wi-Fi connectivity!!! A few minor cons is that there was no dresser as I like to unpack my stuff, but there was a shelf inside of the closet to use. Plenty of hangars for work shirts and pants. My view was the interior wall of the building and HVAC units but with that it made the room nice & dark when going to sleep. Walls seem to be pretty good as I didn't hear any amorous tourist having "quality time". Staff was always friendly when walking by the front desk with plenty of greetings etc. Hotel has a nice little coffee shop inside, little mini-mart if you need snacks, bar & restaurant for convenience too. They will hold your luggage if you get there early or if you have a later flight after checking out of your room. Valet will help assist you with luggage, a taxi, and provide any directions if you need it. Overall, it was a good stay, would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Yelp
Extremely disappointing stay. My journey began when I called and asked where to park for the hotel. I was told that they had vallet for $50 a night, so I asked if there were public parking options. The response I got was "I'm sure there are, but I don't know anything about those"...Just an incredible response from the front desk right off the bat basically telling me my only option was to pay $50 for their vallet, when there were 2 parking garages 1 block away that I ended up finding. Along with being zero help with public parking, the front desk attendant had the energy level of a snail and customer service skills of a construction worker to make things worse. Next up came actually getting into the building itself. The main front door was closed 100% of the time that I was at the hotel, even during mid-day when a sign saying "use room keycard" was put out, but the door still did not work. I would stand there for 30 seconds swiping my keycard and get no assistance. So the only other option is to walk a block to the very back of the hotel at the vallet entrance. I haven't even reached the lobby yet and this is how bad my experience is going... I check in at the front desk and luckily am greeted by someone who seems like they know what customer service is and how to treat someone paying hundreds of dollars for a bed for the night (quite honestly the only positive interpersonal experience I had my entire stay). However, I then go to use the elevator with my keycard and it will not work. I go back to the front desk 3 times with all of my bags asking for help. Finally on the third time somebody actually came with me to help. Hopefully by now you are getting a sense for how awful this was for someone who just drove 9 hours and sat in Denver rush hour traffic all to get these results. After getting some assistance with my keycard working on the elevator, I *finally* made it to my room. The room was a good size, plenty of room for 1-2 people. Decor wasn't necessarily my taste, but that is subjective and does not factor into how poor of a stay this was. When you look closely around the staterooms you start to notice how dilapidated it is. Dirty grout in the bathroom, fraying furniture that should have been replaced 5 years ago, and the worst part-2 total power outlets for me to use in the ENTIRE room (unless I unplugged one of my 3 light sources in the room in the standing lamp). The 4 outlet plug station by the nightstand was either broken, never worked, or was just there for show. And there were zero USB plugins, which are usually a staple of most hotels, especially one where you're paying upwards of $200 a night after parking. My one positive-my room was relatively quiet. In a city where most everything is decaying and being poorly kept up, this hotel is the epitome of the bad parts of Denver. This was just an all-out disappointing stay at one of my absolute favorite collections at Marriott. Every Renaissance that I have stayed in (about 4-5 different ones) have far exceeded my expectations. The Denver Downtown location almost single-handedly ruined my loyalty to the entire Renaissance collection. Now it's just the Autograph Collection that I have had consistent positive experiences at.

Yelp
I recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel and loved it. Not only is in a historic building that holds a lot of stories from the past, but the renovation makes you still feel at ease in a very contemporary space. The rooms are large and equipped with great electronics. TVs have the option to sign into hulu, Netflix or prime. Beds are super comfortable and they have bathtubs and robes in the room for pure relaxation vacation comfort. The bar downstairs (Teller Bar) is so pretty all lit up. The bartender was one of the most attentive bartenders I have met. I haven't had such great service in so long. I would go back just to have drinks here! The whole space is beautiful. You can as the front desk for a historical tour and if someone is onsite and viable you can learn about the history of the building and the artwork within

Yelp
Located in a former bank building the Renaissance Hotel is a nice change of pace from the standard cookie cutter hotel in every city. The lobby is very large with a ceiling that is over 2 floors high which gives it a nice airy feel. Decorated with cool hip furniture. However, get more electrical outlets via power cords! The frequent guest lounge is located on a balcony overlooking the lobby with great views. The rooms are nicely decorated with flat screens and a desk for work. The 24 hour fitness center has enough to keep all occupied.

Yelp
This place was wonderful for a quick stay in Denver. The lobby is very grand and magnificent... it was the old Colorado National Bank. They have done a great job incorporating and keeping cool parts of the bank, such as the entrances and the vault doors, etc. The rooms were roomy and luxurious, as well as the bathrooms. Our shower was somehow leaking into the hallway tile, but it wasn't a huge deal because we just put down a few towels. We wish there were a few more hooks in the bathroom as well. Those are small things, but overall our stay was great and the building was wonderful!

Yelp
This hotel was amazing!! It used to be a bank so it's VERY unique inside. The prices were pretty good considering it was right in downtown and such a nice hotel. They even have an area below the lobby with a 24 hour gym, meeting rooms, and place to just lounge. After we checked out we still had hours until our flight to go back home and they let us leave our bags in the locked closet to pick up whenever we were ready so we were able to scooter around town and explore some more without the inconvenience of lugging bags. Even after we picked up our bags were were so close to Union Station that we were able to scooter there in 15 minutes. I would definitely come back here whenever I come back to Denver!

Yelp
Came in with my sister and friend for a couple drinks at the Teller Bar and for a quick bite to eat. Don was our bartender/server and he was very friendly and efficient. The lemon drop martini's were delicious, smooth and strong. My sister and I split the oven roasted veggie & grain salad (arugula pesto, red pepper romesco, sherry vinaigrette) and it was freakingly delicious!! Also split the 7x ranch burger (classic cheeseburger with steakhouse bacon). Great portion with a side order of truffle fries and it was also delicious. Our friend ordered the bacon jam "white" pie (truffled ricotta, mozzarella, potato, rosemary gremolata). Of course we had to try it and it was fabulous! Ambiance was great, prices were very reasonable, love that the bar has hooks to hang our bags and free WiFi.

Yelp
We had a room block here for our wedding and it was amazing. They were able to give us a great price and the rooms were beautiful. Carl and Donna really made our experience amazing. The pictures we got by getting ready in the suite were to die for! We also did our first look outside of the hotel and they were stunning! Highly recommend staying here for a room block option if you are getting married in or around Denver. Its right in the heart of downtown which is perfect for out of town guests wanting to experience Downtown Denver during their stay. Thank you Donna

Yelp
Beyond disappointed with my stay here. Began when the person checking me in was eating an enchilada platter at the front desk, not horrible but slightly offensive for a hotel this expensive. The lobby is pumped with a heavy fragrance that's very musky, smells like old perfume, made eating or hanging out in the lobby impossible. The elevators have dirty floors and BLAST music at you, not how you want to start the morning. The breakfast is only for "members" so although I am paying a full rate (300+ a night) I was not eligible to receive breakfast or sit in the elevated lounge area. I had to ask three times for my room to be cleaned (cleaner finally came by at 4:00pm when I was trying to take a nap) The room was old, chipped paint, food and waste from previous guests under the furniture, bed was extremely uncomfortable. Lastly, the area it is in may have been nice a decade ago but now it is a place for homeless people to hang out, saw someone smoking crack right outside the hotel. I would never stay here again.

Yelp
I was excited to book here for my birthday weekend as it had great reviews online. I was excited when I checked in because the lobby is GORGEOUS. As soon as I step into the elevator there's a giant drawing of a dick on the door. Kinda funny but also kinda ghetto for a 4star hotel. I get to my floor and boom! There's tons of trash. And it smelled SO bad. Like rotting food. Who knows how long it had been there but as of Sunday afternoon it was still there. I get to my room and try to turn on Netflix and come to find out there internet tv doesn't work. That was a big reason I booked a room there. Who's trying to watch basic cable? Overall I basically feel like I paid twice the price to stay at a motel 6. I highly DO NOT recommend this hotel. I will say tho that the saving grace of this place is hunter at the front desk. That guy is AMAZING! He went so far out of his way to help me. He was so respectful and thoughtful. If it wasn't for him I honestly would have requested my money back and left as soon as I saw the trash. This guy deserves a promotion.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this hotel - it's in a gorgeous building in a nice location. Unfortunately, just about everything else is subpar, especially for an AAA Four Diamond hotel. By far the worst part of my experience was the room itself. It felt as if I was in a basement apartment - there was one small window to let in light and that's it (see the photo). Even in the middle of the day, the room was constantly dark, making for a miserable experience. The front desk staff told me this was all they had. The room also had two sets of broken electrical outlets/USB ports. Neither set would even accept and hold a plug, let alone work. The front desk did send engineering to fix these. The iron in the room also leaked water. Finally, my reservation was not correct in the hotel's computer. The desk staff then blamed me for this problem, explaining it was the way I booked the reservation that caused the issue - even when I had the confirmation on my phone. Overall, this hotel was characteristic of a mediocre budget hotel, which both surprised and disappointed me.

Yelp
It's a good hotel in a great location off 16th Street.I've stayed before, and I'll stay again. My only complaint is the cheap, thin bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths that are rough and feel like sand paper. Invest in some better towels and I'll invest in a fifth star. Deal?

Yelp
I can't write a better review! Kat assisted us from the minute we entered the hotel with the best hospitality. She was extremely kind and customer service oriented, we felt very recognized and taken care of. We arrived later in the night to celebrate our engagement and she provided a fabulous experience in Denver. The room was clean and the volume was low. Housecleaning was offered and came at just the right times. The hotel also offers a restaurant and bar which was delightful for nights we wanted to stay in. Thank you Kat and your team for going the extra mile to make our experience the best!

Yelp
Location: 5 stars Service: 4 stars (can be hit and miss at the bar) Hotel: 4 stars Club Lounge: 3 stars Teller bar / Range restaurant: 3 stars Just finished up a week long stay at this location and it's pretty much on par with other domestic Renaissance's (the international locations are usually a bit better). The location is great, only a block away from the 16th street promenade, right in the middle of the garden district. Plenty of food choices just a 5 minute walk away, and a great place to people watch. The hotel itself is nice, could be cleaner as I noticed there being trash / room service dishes being left out in the hallways for the whole day. My room was clean though and the decor was nice. The whole hotel has a whole modern feel to it, and you can definitely tell that it used to be a bank, with all the repurposed safes and "bank" decor (outside is beautiful). As far as the teller bar and the food at the Range restaurant, it's ok, nothing great. They have a happy hour at the bar which has $4 beers which is nice, but I would recommend just walking outside to a surrounding food option which will probably be a lot cheaper and better. The club lounge is pretty basic, it provides a light breakfast in the morning, a small fridge with drinks (sodas/water) throughout the day, and a few snacks at night. The breakfast is a nice offering so you don't have to go far to grab something to eat in the morning, but nothing worth going to the lounge at night. Staff was nice, service at the bar was sometimes good and sometimes it seemed the bartenders were a bit overwhelmed trying to serve patrons at the bar and at the tables / couches. Overall a nice stay, worth choosing if you can get it for a decent price.

Yelp
Chic modern hotel preserves the rich history of the Colorado bank which originally occupied the building. Downstairs a unique window showcases the brick side's abutment to the cement side as part of the building is an addition to the original. Amazing vaults are still intact and are beautifully featured with good showcase lighting. We loved the historical note plaques with tidbits of information about the vaults and construction of the building. Given the time period it is quite remarkable that these vaults were built with such heavy doors that they were never successfully robbed. Be sure to check out the wall immediately to your left upon entering the hotel from the four corners intersection -- blueprints, construction invoice, cheques, bill, and other historic pieces are showcased in a photo collage that gives a glimpse into history. If you love architecture you simply must visit!

Yelp
Rooms are very beat up!! Shower dripped all night long and then when it came time to take a shower, the water heat would change from ice cold to scolding hot without touching the faucet. The reason my rating isn't lower is that their staff is really positive and helpful. They really care about the hotel guests.

Yelp
I will be back... here's why: Click on my pics & see my panorama picture of the lobby. *I took a photo of the current parking valet prices, another reviewer stated $40 garage parking, *But I took a photo showing $8 all day & $13 overnight. I'm 31 & a single traveler male for business needs... *I travel a lot Stayed one night, booked it due to a Denver Airport Layover, didn't do business at this hotel. I had jet lag & walked around the hotel. I'm from Vegas & I've seen 100's of hotels if not more. About this hotel: * Price was great, I got lucky with online booking at last minute. * Modern/contemporary/sexy * Professional Staff * Excellent Decor & ample lobby space * Starbucks inside the hotel * Quick ride to the Airport, cheap Lyft fare. * Secure Garaged Parking (4-5 floors?) * Staff upgraded my room without even mentioning it, pleasantly surprised! * I got hungry late & found an IHOP across the street (good job IHOP, FYI) * Clean everything from Lobby to bedroom * A lot of amenities, more than I could do * Huge Lobby and plenty of various & plentiful spacing for casual sitting or dining.

Yelp
Never judge a hotel service based upon their name. The Renaissance and just because it's downtown don't mean it's elegant as expected. Room was a nice size one bedroom suite. Two TVs and a living area with a couch. Bathroom nice size, refrigerator, and coffee pot. My set backs were there was one remote and this remote turned on and off both TV. Sound good no wait there's more. When one tv is on and you want to turn it off using the remote well it would turn that tv off and the other one would come on. I spent almost 10 mins every time trying to adjust the tv. Then the outlets (2 of the 4) did not work. That's a set back because it made it difficult to charge daily. Room service please hire some help. I asked for my room to be cleaned two days in a row and finally got it after two day request.

Yelp
The hotel is a wonderfully converted bank building in downtown Denver surrounded by beautiful mountains. The lobby, as has been noted in other reviews, is stunning. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable but a little small. There is no self-parking at the hotel so you must use valet at a cost of $59 per night, plus tips. Room service is daily (so rare now-a-days)! Though no fault of the hotel, its a shame you can't enjoy a walk around the City without confronting serious drug addiction and mental illness. Being downtown, you almost can not leave the hotel without being confronted by the afore-mentioned. Again, this is no fault of the hotel, so its a good thing the hotel is so pleasant and makes you want to stay within its safety (Did I mention that security features of the hotel seem pretty good?). That said, I found the staff helpful and accommodating. Breakfast at the club level is wonderful. I want to specifically mention Mary Vialpando, the Food and Beverage Manager, who I had significant interaction this week and is beyond pleasant and accommodating. If you have business in Denver or need a special event, you simply MUST contact her. She will bend over backwards to assist you and does so with a humble smile. To my friends at Marriot Corporate, Mary is a keeper. Do what you must to keep her with the Marriot brand because I am a business owner myself and would love to have a staff full of Marys. I am not in hospitality but if I was I would hire her in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This property is lovely. The building is a historic bank that has been renovated into a beautiful hotel. The conference rooms are old vaults and there is a "teller" bar. The gym is well equipped and the guest rooms are tidy and comfortable. Parking is an extra $50 per day and the service could use improvement as the hotel did not seem like a well oiled machine. The location is great as the hotel is in the middle of downtown and we could walk to everything we wanted to visit. The price is certainly reasonable. Overall, we enjoyed our three night stay and recommend this hotel.
