We had a great stay at this hotel! The staff was very friendly, and celebrated us with acknowledging our honeymoon. We received a complimentary upgrade for the first time ever, and it was the only hotel during our honeymoon to do so. The room was very nice, the bathrooms are very small though, and there is minimal counter space, even in a suite. The shower didn’t have a door either, so water got everywhere. The location is 5 minute walk to everything you could need, and has many restaurants nearby. We highly recommend and had a great stay!

We traveled with a Viking cruise so that may impact what we experienced. The bed was comfortable. If you are new to this region, no top sheets. Shower was good, but it’s an open shower so everything gets wet. Tiny bathroom. Heated towel rack. We had room 517, a corner room and it was pretty quiet. Staff was responsive and friendly. There is a restaurant off the entry. Breakfast was excellent. Please be aware that the two prong electrical outlets are recessed into the wall so a cube or block US/European adapter will not work. We couldn’t find one that did. Hairdryer in the room was fine. Hotel is walking distance to everything in old town Lucerne and about 3 blocks to bus/train station. Very clean hotel.

ROOM: Quaint, well designed room with ornate crown moulding. Rooms were small by US standards, but typical of European rooms. Room was well equipped with a large desk, a chair, a Nespresso coffee maker, fridge, and iron. Bathroom had a nice towel warmer but was small. The European style shower was extra small with no shower door or curtain, it took us a few tries to learn how to position the shower head to minimize water spillage into the bathroom. ||AMENITIES: The gym was on the "1st" floor and was equipped with a few cardio machines and a handful of dumbbells. There was an amazing, comfortable lounge adjacent to the gym with large, comfortable seating and a TV. The hotel also had a self service ice machine, which is unusual in Europe - probably geared towards its American tourist base. There is of all things, a Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel. We only went to the bar there a few times - did not eat there, but the restaurant was quite crowded at dinner. The decor of the restaurant was beautiful - and the bar was well stocked with really friendly bartenders! ||SERVICE: Staff were all outstanding and professional. Housekeeping did a great job and serviced our rooms. One afternoon while we were using the lounge, some people complained we were making too much noise - when the staffer came to let us know she could not have been more professional and kind in letting us know. ||LOCATION: The location of the property is ideal. It is a few blocks away from the more touristy crowds of old town, yet everything (old bridge, train station) is within an easy 5-10 minute walk. Lots of restaurants, bars, and pastry shops nearby.

Very nice! I wasn't bothered by the room that was not much larger than the King size bed, and a desk chair that you have to squeeze into in order to sit between the desk and bed, because it was otherwise fantastic! Nice sized TV although English stations mostly news. Very nice bathroom and shower, very clean room, very wonderful bed and bedding. Very quiet at night with window closed, but can open it during the day for fresh air. Overall, a very wonderful stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights. O got a text message saying our room was ready around 8am. That was great since we had an early flight ✈️. We arrived at the hotel and they wouldn't let us check in. Said our room wasn't yet ready and the text was in error. They held our luggage and we went to walk around and got lunch. We came back around 1:30pm and our room still wasn't ready. They have almost no where to wait, 2 uncomfortable chairs down front. We went upstairs to a lounge. They kept making us wait and refused to honor the text message that said our room was ready. We talked to a supervisor who was no help. Turns out they were saving all the rooms for Viking Cruise guests! Giving them all available rooms ahead of us who had been waiting hours to get into our room after a long flight!! This was so rude and made us feel low class. Do not recommend this hotel.. You will be put at the end for room checkins. We paid too much money to be treated like that.

We were here for 3 nights with family this summer. The hotel is well located, centrally located and everything is walkable distance from the hotel. ||However the lobby was small and the room corridors were too narrow. They did not have anyone to help out with the baggage as well. ||Overall good hotel in Lucern.

The room was comfortable and the bed was comfortable. However, the shower was super slippery with NO handrail. We had to place towels on the floor of the shower to keep from slipping and falling into the glass wall. Also, my first impression upon our arrival in the room was that the wood flooring needed some deep cleaning since there were black marks all over.

From my perspective as a tour organizer, the Renaissance Lucerne Hotel is a reliable and stylish choice for clients looking for central, comfortable accommodation in the heart of the city. Its excellent location—just a few minutes from the main train station and key attractions—makes it easy to plan and coordinate daily activities.
